Winery
Food & Drink
Nestled in the charming town of Weston, Pirtle Winery has been a beloved fixture since its establishment in 1978. Housed in a beautifully restored historic church, this family-owned gem invites visitors to explore its unique offerings through engaging tours and tastings. The winery boasts an impressive selection of wines crafted from locally grown grapes, including classic reds and whites, delightful fruit wines, and meads that are sure to please any palate.
Pirtle was fantastic! We arrived with a group of 18 and were immediately welcomed for a tasting of 7 wines for $15 and they were superb! Saturday afternoon had live music and an excellent charcuterie board! Highly recommend!

They have one of the best Missouri Norton wines I've ever had and I highly recommend picking up a bottle or two. Very nice employees and the service is excellent. I will be back for sure!
Ian M — Google review
One of the neatest little wineries we’ve ever been to. Christie was delightful and so fun to chat with, as she walked us through tasting their outstanding wines. Some of the best I’ve had around Missouri/Kansas!
Frank M — Google review
Heather was very knowledgeable, personable and made our tasting super fun! Had so much fun came back with my husband! Kara helped with our tasting this time and she was just as wonderful even though they were close to closing time. Thank you!
Amy D — Google review
Have done a great job renovating this old church into a fantastic tasting room. I have been a fan of Pirtle wines for years.
Matthew H — Google review
We were really disappointed with our experience here. This winery was the last stop on our wine tour, and instead of being welcomed, our group was refused service under the claim that we were “too intoxicated.” We had responsibly enjoyed the day, pacing ourselves and following the rules at every other stop without issue. In fact, we were served without a problem both before and after visiting this winery, which makes it very clear that their refusal was unnecessary and unfair. If this winery participates in wine tours, they should be prepared to accommodate guests who have been tasting throughout the day. Unfortunately, the lack of hospitality and poor customer service means we won’t be returning or recommending it to others.

We just returned from visiting the special town of Weston, Missouri and was so impressed by the number of restaurants so close to the campsite in Weston Bend campgrounds! Pirtle Winery was on our list of must see ~ it had several wines we liked we shall return next Spring! 5🌟

If you’re ever in the historic town of Weston I definitely recommend dropping by this cute quaint winery!

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Weston Bend State Park is a picturesque park that boasts both paved and unpaved trails, as well as stunning views of the Missouri River. The park offers many interesting hiking trails with markers to guide visitors through its pristine surroundings. It is particularly beautiful during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. However, caution must be taken when hiking during muddy conditions as it may become dangerous.
This is a really nice park. We stayed 4 nights in the campground. The camp hosts were the best we've ever encountered. They were very helpful to us "rookie" travel trailer people. They took great delight in helping anyone needing assistance. I learned a lot from them. The trails are great and well maintained. The 2.75 mile paved trail is a bit rough and very hilly. It is well worth going on. I highly recommend this park!
Dave B — Google review
Well kept park with nice, wooded trails. Some are paved and some natural. Plenty of picnic tables with grills. Nice shaded areas. Play areas for children. The campground is first rated with good shade.
John R — Google review
A hidden gem just a short drive from Fort Leavenworth...Weston Bend State Park is absolutely beautiful. The drive-through roads wind through peaceful forest and open fields with some of the best river views in the area. The overlook platform gives you a sweeping look at the Missouri River, and the trails are easy to follow and well-maintained. My favorite part was the restored tobacco barn museum — such a unique glimpse into local history and early agriculture. It’s the perfect mix of nature and heritage. Whether you’re hiking, picnicking, or just taking a scenic drive, this park is a must-see.
SarahBeth C — Google review
We felt like we had some privacy with our site being very spacious. The paved trails are beautiful and even though they did seem to have a lot of people using them (not all campers, but locals also) they were all very friendly and courteous. The train tracks close by were neat and the location in between 2 nice towns was perfect for us. It was very dog friendly too. They do have construction going on, but still a great place to stay. We loved the old time feel of the area. We will definitely be back!
Lindsey A — Google review
Absolutely stunning in the Fall! The West Ridge Trail was a mostly easy 2.5 mile walk/ hike, with some steep inclines making it somewhat moderate. Hiking poles aren't necessary. Some of the loop is paved. Beautiful views over the Kansas River.
Rana B — Google review
This was a wonderful park to go to. The trail is great for a nice walk down to the river. We eneded up at the scenic overlook which has a couple of telescopes that view the town across the river into Kansas, and of course the radius deck which over looks the river. A beautiful walk with the family!!
Micheal O — Google review
One of our favorites, great hiking trails that are hilly and scenic. Historic weston is within biking distance
Roger M — Google review
We hiked about 4 miles, explored an old tobacco barn, and made it to the overlook for a gorgeous view of the Missouri River. Such a great spot! Plenty of parking, pretty busy when we went (perfect fall day), and super dog-friendly (leashed pups). They even have a dog park with three separate sections! Highly recommend visiting in the fall.

Barbecue restaurant
Tin Kitchen Southern Smokehouse, located at 509 Main, is a popular and laid-back eatery renowned for its barbecue. It is an ideal place to indulge in a satisfying meal. Whether stumbling upon it while exploring the countryside or seeking out a delicious barbecue experience, Tin Kitchen does not disappoint. Their brisket sandwich is particularly exceptional, with tender and flavorful meat that leaves a lasting impression. In addition to their mouthwatering pulled pork, generous portions of delectable fries accompany each dish.
Real good food here! I had the brisket plate with beans and 24hr slaw. It all tasted really good. They have 3 sauces: Original, Pepper and Sweet. I enjoyed the original & pepper. The sweet has good flavor but is super sweet. The service is fast and friendly.

The main street of Weston, Mo is filled with eateries, bars and shopping. This establishment is popular and was packed when we chose to dine. The food was good and you cannot complain about the portions served . We did decide, however, that taste wise, we have had better in the KC area. Our server was just so so. She kinda made me feel like we were an intrusion to her day. As I have said before, my opinion shouldn't stop you from trying the place
Ann O — Google review
First time visitors to Tin Kitchen. Food was awesome and the service was great. We were in a hurry and need to be served quickly. They were great at getting our food fast. I appreciate all the effort the did so we could make our appointment. Food was delicious!
Casiano T — Google review
It was our first time here, we had a party of 7 and was really impressed with the food. Three of our people had ribs, one had half the chicken, two had the cheese burger, and one had the pimento/fried green tomato burger. Everything was great. The ribs were some the best we've had. Sides the group had, french fries, broccoli salad, side salad, wedge salad, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. Again, there were no complaints. Everyone raved about the French fries. Can't wait to come back and try other items.

After a Distillery tour in the area, needed to get some food since we went whiskey tasting on an empty stomach 🤭 Located on Main Street within Downtown Weston. We did not get the server’s name just TK1 P was on the receipt. She was very friendly and accommodating. What we tried: 1.) Brisket Sandwich $16.99 with Mac & Cheese My husband’s go to when going to BBQ joints. 2.) Full Pork Rack Rib $33.99 with Baked Beans and Mac & Cheese. The meat was flavorful and fell off the bone. The Backed Beans were flavorful with the right amount of sweetness. Mac & Cheese had a crisp top and cream texture underneath. 3.) Pulled Pork Sandwich $14.99 with side of Mac & Cheese. We will be back!
J S — Google review
We were BLOWN AWAY by how outstanding all of the sides were. Beans, slaw, fries, broccoli salad, I can’t even pick just one. Being used to the big city BBQ in Kansas City, this place’s pork, brisket, and Cajun chicken all truly shine. The blood orange margaritas are dangerously delicious. Whitney was an outstanding waitress. The peppered BBQ sauce is where it’s at. Hands down can’t wait to come back - we left and looked at each other just saying, ‘’Wow, that was an incredible experience…’’
Frank M — Google review
The food was great, beans bear side. I’ve had their brisket and pulled pork and they did not disappoint. The service was friendly and very prompt. Nice and helpful with good follow up. I ordered pulled pork with no bun. It was not bathed in sauce like so many times you see pulled pork.
Chuck K — Google review
So yummy! Great BBQ in a nice cozy restaurant on Main Street. They had a lot of seating and more in another area of the restaurant. The menu had lots of options for all diets. We love bbq, and this was a great option for our big family. Our waitress was awesome, and the service was so quick. Great close by option if you are nearby at the ski slopes as it's an affordable meal to warm up with.

Green Dirt Farm Creamery is a small farm nestled in the bluffs of Weston, dedicated to producing top-quality grass-fed lamb and Farmstead sheep's milk cheeses from its own pastured ewes. The creamery offers group tours by advance reservation only. Located just north of downtown Weston, it shares space with TerraVox Vineyards for a tasting room featuring TerraVox wines. Visitors can enjoy meat and cheese boards, with special accommodations for allergies, and excellent service at the outdoor picnic area.
This cheese shop is the perfect place to spend the afternoon near KC while visiting Weston. The short drive is worth it, with delicious food and wine, an inviting space inside or out, and lovely patrons and staff. The outside is dog friendly as well. A must visit in the area!

I was so distracted by the food that I didn’t even take any pictures of the rest of the place! First off—why the loss of a star? $8 for a beer was about it. Prices aren’t listed (at least as of my visit) and I can see why. That hurt. I’ve been to Irish pubs that charge less. If you don’t enjoy an occasional adult beverage, then ignore that and consider this a five star review. The crew working was excellent and the food was likewise fantastic. Your kiddos might not be thrilled with cheese on their PB&J so be warned. It was excellent but it’s definitely not what kids are expecting. Every plate looked like a work of art. They really seemed to enjoy what they do and the food spoke for itself. Visiting, passing through, or a local—you should go. The cheeses pair so well with everything and the sandwiches are better than going to just another burger place. They have none here so don’t expect an artistic twist on your favorite burger. We’ll visit again. It’s too tasty not to.

Stopped for lunch and chose seasonal Charcuterie cheese board. Amazing. Who knew cheese from sheep was so good! Creamy and delightful. I couldn't stop thinking about how I could use the different cheeses. Highly recommend stopping by.

I just had the tastiest Greek Salad at this delightful establishment. Sandwiches, cheeses, wine on the menu also look inviting. Put it on your list to check out!

Hands down the best ice cream I have ever had, honey cinnamon vanilla. Absolutely the best! Charcuterie board and cheese were fantastic as well. Great selection of local wines and bourbon as well. Great people and great food make for a special experience.
Maximus — Google review
Know going in there is a limited menu of sandwiches and salads. That said, what they do, they do very well. I had a grilled cheese, and it was one of the best I have ever had. My daughter got the CPB&J board, cheese, peanut butter, and jelly. She loved it. We ended with ice cream. Wow.
Mike R — Google review
The charcuterie board was an absolute delight! The selection of five different cheeses was impressive, with a great variety of flavors and textures that paired perfectly with the assortment of cured meats. But what truly set this board apart was the accompaniments—the honey was rich and floral, and the jam was bursting with fresh fruit flavor. We also ordered a glass of the blackberry mead, which was a fantastic choice. It was semi-sweet with a beautiful complexity that complemented the cheeses and meats wonderfully. It's a must-try for any lover of cheese and wine.
Gabe — Google review
We had a great afternoon at the shop and also a tour of the farm and creamery. The sheep cheeses here are outstanding and they have at least 8 different varieties to try and buy. The shop also serves up sandwiches, wine and beer. The staff is super knowledgeable and will help guide you through the menu/options. Also try and book a tour of the farm and creamery about 4 miles away. Really love this place!

Nestled in the charming town of Weston, Weston Brewing Co is a delightful destination that beautifully marries history and modern brewing. Established in 1842 by German immigrants, this brewery has evolved into a vibrant hub for beer enthusiasts, offering over 15 varieties of ales and lagers. The venue features unique limestone cellars where live bands perform, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying a pint.
Taylor was our server here and she was awesome. She gave us a great history lesson of Weston Brewing Co. and also different places to see around town. The 4 different beers that we tried were absolutely delightful. Great place just to pop in for a snack and a beer

Had a flight of beers. They were excellent. My server Jennifer was so kind to give me a tour of the caverns that are open on the weekends with live Irish music. I could only imagine how the music sounds in the old underground beer aging caverns. I will be back!
RICHARD G — Google review
Great historic brewery! The food and beer was delicious, including the homemade apple pie! Exciting place to go to and learn about how this place has evolved. Originally built in 1842, it's the second oldest brewery west of the Hudson River. Walking into the bar is half the excitement when you go through the long tunnels and steep walkways to get to the taps. Had some nice live music to make the atmosphere perfect. Would definitely recommend! (Note: The beer menu pictures are current as of August 2019, but I assume the selection rotates depending on the season.)

We found this to be a fun place to go for lunch. The service is great and ourm servers were very helpful. The O'Malleys Sandwich was delicious, as were the fries. We ordered the beer samples and received 6 glasses of beer plus a glass of peach cider. All 7 were very good.
Dave B — Google review
The food was amazing the environment was wonderful we ordered our food and it arrived in less than ten minutes. The only thing I noticed was that it was the building is too small to contain the big energy. If I could I'd give ten stars I will be coming back and I'll bring my friends with me
Patrick O — Google review
Normally a 5 star experience. Today was not the normal. My appetizer (crab cakes) were still cold in the middle, the 2nd of 2 was still frosty. When told, the server did nothing to attempt to remedy the problem. The rest of the meal was excellent as usual and service was good with the 1 exception. I'm chalking it up to being at an abnormal time and just having an off day. Hopefully the next visit they will be back to the greatness I expect from one of my favorite places to visit.

What a cool place. While aimlessly wandering the Kansas City area we found ourselves in the parking lot of Weston Brewing Co. This hits one of our top 5 most enjoyed "finds" while traveling. The staff was welcoming and treated us like friends. We enjoyed the scotch eggs and beer so much we bought an extra suitcase to take home a case!

American restaurant
Avalon Cafe is a charming restaurant located in an 1847 historic house in downtown Weston. The eatery offers gourmet American meals and a popular Sunday brunch, with outdoor seating available. Visitors praise the romantic atmosphere and excellent service, although some have noted issues with the tap water. Despite being on the pricier side, there are also affordable options for more traditional 'bar food.' Overall, it's recommended as a must-visit dining spot when exploring Weston.
We love going to Weston, MO. Avalon has become our favorite restaurant. They always have delicious food and great service. Wife had the portobello sandwich, and I had the ham & slaw sandwich, both were excellent!

Located off N MO-45 in Weston quaint little town. Avalon Cafe is situated in refurbished home with various rooms dedicated to small dining areas. Like some other reviewers have mentioned if you happen to be placed in a dining room with a larger loud group of Diners…good luck with trying to have a conversation! Amanda was our server, she was friendly and accommodating. What we ordered: 1.) Avalon Salad $10.00 well balanced with dressing, bleu cheese and veggies. 2.) Beef tips with fettuccine noodles $24.00 this was very bland. Th beef was tender, but the pasta was a bit over cooked. 3.) Elk Strip Loin $38.00 the Elk was med-rare tender not gaming flavor, but with other reviewers not enough elk and potatoes for the price. 4.) Caramel Irish Coffee $10.00 It was tasty 5.) Holloday Bourbon $12.00 6.) Hot Chocolate $3.00 Some hits and some misses unfortunately.

Came here for a midday birthday dinner and got it in. The food was quite tasty , and this was really my first time getting to explore Weston during the day. Very cute town with a lot of neat little shops and this place fits right in. We sat in a smaller room by a window and there were two other tables in there with us and I will say it was very quiet and easy to overhear what everyone was saying which initially was kind of a drawback, but ultimately worked out well because the whole room, all 5 of us got into a rather friendly conversation. I ordered the ribs and they were quite tasty. They're not going to win any major awards for ribs but they were solid. We got the toasted Brie plate as well, which was nice. At the end of the day I would definitely come back and visit again. We were seated by a window and I was a little amused at the picture that was facing us, and debated with my wife whether it was in favor of President Trump or in opposition to him. It really could go either way.

The house is very cute and charming. The service was also nice. The food was very mediocre and overpriced for what it was. We ordered sandwiches and received a half sandwich, not a whole one. Along with a side, it was probably $15. Nothing against this place, but we went here based on reviews and the food experience did not live up to the reviews.

Restaurant
O'Malley's Pub is the oldest pub in Missouri, boasting a 50-foot deep limestone cellar and a rich history dating back to 1842. The pub offers unique beers brewed by Weston Brewing Company, along with live Irish music on weekends. Its charming aesthetic includes menus designed as newspapers, making for a delightful dining experience. The outdoor area is spacious and dog-friendly, while the food receives high praise, particularly the cheese curds and fish and chips.
We didn't eat here only had a drink with my IBEW riding group. We went here on our charity ride. Had such a great time, the pub is awesome. The help was spectacular, they brew their own beer here. It was great, we loved everything about it, will definitely be back.

You would never know the scale and coolness of this pub by how it looks on the outside. Above ground part of the building is just the restrooms. Down the stairs, you're given the option of left, or right. Both are amazing. Live music, cool atmosphere (literally and figuratively), as this used to be an icehouse underground storage. The people are awesome, the drinks were perfect. It's worth a trip to Weston just for this little pub. And, the whole town is amazing.
Scott P — Google review
Food is decent, service is pretty disorganized. Waitresses were a bit off-putting from the start, and delivered our appetizer and entrees simultaneously, which is irritating, if they spaced it out we’d had time to get more drinks and enjoy the atmosphere, we were in and out the doors within 35 minutes. Shepherds pie is decent, beef Guinness strips were bland, the appetizer pretzel is definitely the best and largest pretzel hands down that we’ve ever had. The sausage links were solid. The egg rolls were really good. The wait staff need to learn pacing, we arrived at 6pm and it was not too busy, so didn’t really need to rush. If we didn’t feel so rushed I’d have enjoyed it more, definitely not worth coming back as a family. The bathroom situation inside is pretty terrible, people line up to use the restroom next to diners since there is only two toilets, maybe the pub next door is more worthwhile.

O’Malley’s in Weston is a must-see Irish pub with an atmosphere that feels straight out of old Ireland. The underground cellar setting, with its stone walls and cozy lighting, creates an experience that’s both historic and lively. The staff is warm and friendly. When I brought a cake for my wife’s birthday, our server had the band sing to her, which made the night unforgettable. Live music is frequent and adds to the fun without overwhelming the space. There’s an upper bar for quieter days and a lower bar that opens when it’s busier, plus outdoor seating for nice weather. Families can visit on certain days, like Sundays. It might not be the best choice for anyone sensitive to tight spaces or the natural cellar scent, but for most people, it’s pure charm and a true Weston gem.

The chicken salad was wonderful. You order via a QR code so grab a table if you want food and scan in. They'll bring it from the resturant next door to your table. If you want drinks, descend all the way down into the cavern to the bar for a wonderful view and order.

Very cool place. The stuff that they brew is very tasty and relatively inexpensive. Food is delivered from the restaurant next door using toast and a QR code at the table. The deeper you descend the deeper you dive into history!

We had the O’malley’s sandwich and Crispy Chicken sandwich. Both were sub par. I would have much preferred a McChixken sandwich and fries from MvDonalds. The menu stated it was an a mound of fries. It was barely an ant hill of fries and they were not good, no flavor whatsoever. The chicken sandwich was dry and had no flavor. The O’Malley’s sandwich barely had any corned beef or cheese on it. It definitely was not worth the $30 we paid for it. My sandwich was not even served with a condiment, I had to go to the bartender and have him go to the kitchen to bring me some mayonnaise. The atmosphere is amazing but does not make up for the terrible food we had. There’s so many better places to eat at in Weston. I would rather have paid twice that price and have something that was actually good. Definitely not a place I would recommend to eat at.

Traditional American restaurant
Main Street Galleria & The Upstairs Tearoom is an exceptional establishment that offers a delightful and welcoming atmosphere. Situated above the shop, it provides a tranquil environment for patrons to enjoy their meals. Their menu features delectable dishes such as a coleslaw side and raspberry chicken salad sandwich, both of which are incredibly tasty. The sandwich is served on homemade potato bread, adding an extra touch of uniqueness to the dish.
This place is WONDERFUL! Quiet and friendly. Located above the gift store, I had the most delicious side of coleslaw and raspberry chicken salad sandwich. The homemade potato bread that the salad was put on made the it so special. I even brought a loaf to take home in gift store. My husband had the ham and cheese sandwich and loved it. We both cleaned our plates. Well done!

The food was very good. I ordered half chicken salad sandwich with the pesto Mac n cheese. Delicious! My issue is with the portion size. I was very disappointed. They obviously only used half a piece of bread and gave me 1/4 of a sandwich. I thought I was served a kids plate. To be fair, I did take one bite from the sandwich. Very disappointed.

The waitstaff was pleasant enough but, we were very dissapointed in the food quality, portion size, and tableware. We have been coming to Weston for decades and were surprised that the Tea Room was serving food on plastic plates and in paper bowls, as well as plastic spoons and forks. The portion sizes were very skimpy. Sad to see this drastic change. I ordered the chicken salad on greens. It was perhaps 1/4 cup of overly sauced shredded chicken meat on less than a handful of greens and two thin slices of a roma tomato for $9.00, tax and a tip. Another person in our party had a dry, not too fresh tasting ,skimpy, smoked pork sandwich. Others had a forgetable very small bowl of cabbage and pork soup served in a paper bowl. I hope they will return to the previous standards that we so enjoyed. Perhaps it is under new ownership. We will probably not return if this does not change.

I have actually never written a review for a restaurant before, but I'm hoping this will save someone from a bad dining experience. My friend and I were in Weston today, it was a Monday and most every other restaurant was closed so we decided to give this a try. There was no staff present when we walked in and upstairs but finally found someone. As for atmosphere, it's pretty old and tired and somewhat dirty. The menu items sound amazing but honestly, it was the worst meal I've probably ever had out anywhere. The item was their raspberry chicken salad sandwich with their "famous raspberry mayo" - there was no raspberry and the chicken was something strange and rubbery. The soup was a squash vegetable but it was the same - tasted like canned soup with flour and extra veggies added. It was extremely disappointing. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Weston has plenty of other great spots. Try Avalon Cafe for a great meal!

The food here is wonderful! And the fudge is to die for! And their sodas are also great! If you’re in Weston I highly recommend you stop in for a meal or snack! Oh! I didn’t mention the homemade breads! They have a cinnamon roll bread and sour dough that I love - but all are very good!

Great food, great service. Quiet place right in downtown Weston, MO. We recommend the egg salad sandwich, the club, the broccoli cheese soup is really good. The Weston wrap is a must try. Will definitely be back. We were too full for dessert

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The food was amazing! Our server and owner, Ashleigh was such a delight. The coconut cream pie is a MUST! RUN to this cute little spot in town you won't be disappointed!

Tea room sells you $8 pot of hot water, doesn't return to your table with more tea bags unless you get up and ask. two of us only had time for three tea bags. So that's a lot for a cup of tea. Breakfast had very small portions.$60 for 4 people eating small breakfast! Not the cost I'm used to. Felt the server was not friendly. This is new management. I used to like this place under previous owner. Will not return.
