Fantastic Caverns

Rock shop
Fantastic Caverns in Springfield, North America's only ride-through cave, offers guided tours on custom open-air trams pulled by Jeeps. The expert guides share fascinating stories about the cave's history and geology, making the experience both educational and visually stunning. Visitors can marvel at ancient formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, columns, cave pearls, flowstones, and draperies.
Fantastic Caverns was a wonderful adventure! We wanted to take my 86 year old Mother somewhere that she could enjoy without walking long distances. This tour was perfect! The three tickets together cost less than one adult ticket at some of the Branson sites. Jared was our tour guide, and he did a fabulous job! He was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed his very informative comments about the cave, and his personal stories. My Mother was thrilled with this adventure. We highly recommend this tour for all ages. We will definitely be back with our adult children and grandchildren. This tour was the highlight of our short vacation!

Had a wonderful tour guide. I've always wanted to go inside a cave like this. Due to my decreased mobility, riding in on the trailer, even though I had to bend over and duck at points, made it possible!! Wonderful even temperature and excellent lighting. Enjoyed the history and learning some science on the way.
Daughterofthe K — Google review
To see stalegtight and stalagmites in person is impressive. To see formations that have taken millions of years in person was amazing. Very informative little tour and the guide was humorous. Though we loved the tour and information it is on the pricey side. Truly expected the tour to be more In length. In actually its a tour that stops often to listen to the guide. I'd advise to research prices and compare that to your fascination of underground formations
J D — Google review
Fantastic Caverns offers a unique and memorable experience with its fully guided, ride-through cave tour. You’ll hop aboard a large tram that takes you deep into the cave, with stops along the way to learn about the stunning rock formations and fascinating history of the caverns. It’s a relaxing and informative adventure—no walking required in the cave. There is also really nice gift shop filled with great souvenirs to remember your visit.
SR — Google review
Fantastic Caverns experience is well worth your time. The grounds before getting to the visitor's center are so well kept and beautiful. ( Deer were grazing, when we went.) There is a place outside with the story/ history of the caverns before you go in the visitor's center. The visitor's center and gift store are very nice. In the center there are comfortable chairs to wait for your tour. The jeep trams are roomie and not too crowded. They will allow pictures throughout. You are also allow to bring food ( popcorn from the gift shop) and a drink. The tour takes about 1 hour and is very educational and fun.
C G — Google review
Not as dramatic as some cavern systems I have toured, but it was very accessible, had a great story and you could park several cars inside it. Our guide was authentic and very knowledgeable about the cavern. The story of the cavern's discovery was touching and the performance history of the cavern pre-dates Branson. Every time I am walking on a hill in this area, I think what could be hidden underneath my feet in the earth's drainage system.
George S — Google review
Amazing cave, the drive through tour is really nice. It is perfect for seniors who could not otherwise make a more strenuous walk through a cave system. The cave has beautiful formations and great lighting. Thr tour guides were friendly and informative as well. Overall and outstanding diversion.
Scott P — Google review
A great place to learn about caves, how they form and a little local history. Because you ride in a wagon pulled by a Jeep this tour is great for those who might not be able to walk far or stay with a group. I thought it was a little expensive relative to the time length of the tour but then it was so nice to ride and just look and listen to the guide.

Wonders Of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium

Zoos & Aquariums
The Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium features an aquarium with huge tanks full of fish. The aquarium has different environments like the ocean and a river, as well as 4D wildlife dioramas.
We headed north to Springfield, MO and spent four hours exploring the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium and the iconic Bass Pro Shops. If you plan to go — bring comfortable shoes, a light jacket (if you’re cold-natured), and plenty of free time. It’s the largest and most immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world, and it truly lives up to the hype. Johnny Morris doesn’t hold back when he brings his visions to life. Every gallery tells a story — from record-setting game animals to the incredible history behind the wonders of wildlife. Every detail is perfectly placed and thoughtfully designed.
Stephanie S — Google review
This was the most wonderful experience. My son and I decided to go on a Monday to avoid crowds, and the flow was perfect. There were a lot of people there but it wasn’t congested or crowded. The Christmas lights were beautiful, the facility was extremely clean and we were so impressed with how healthy the fish and other wildlife appeared. Their habitats were very clean and you can tell they are all well cared for. We also were able to pet and feed the stingrays and we enjoyed this so much that we visited the stingray pool twice. Staff were approachable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Loved the museums, they were also clean and well maintained. We had a late lunch at Hemingway’s-food was excellent and the staff were great. The ambience was so cozy-there is a large fireplace with couches available and the aquarium in the bar area is very relaxing to look at. We have visited many aquariums across the US and this was in the top 3 for us. We will definitely visit again!
Elaine W — Google review
The Museum and aquarium are both spectacular. I heard great things but all my expectations were far exceeded. The aquarium especially is just gorgeous. The variety and cleanliness of each exhibit is amazing and the staff is very friendly. If you get a chance to do any of the experiences there, the guides are super kind and knowledgeable. I was there a couple weeks ago and honestly want to fly back just to go visit again. I can’t recommend it enough!
Etgan — Google review
Absolutely stunning facility. I have never had quite as much fun at an aquarium or even at interactive zoos, as I've had here. You can feed stingrays, play in the touch tank, and see all the different habitats the animals live in. There's so much to see and the aquarium is perfectly laid out to guide you to see all of it without missing anything
Jeanette K — Google review
I love coming to the aquarium and especially bringing our grand littles! I love watching their face light up s they watch in awe of all the sea creatures! The jelly fish and petting the stingrays are my absolute favorite!!! Highly recommend visiting. I always plan on returning because it never gets old! 🤌💯✨️🫶
Tammy M — Google review
The sheer size of the exhibits was amazing. One of the fish tanks is probably 35' high and can be seen from several heights. Lots of taxidermy wildlife in beautiful settings. It took us about 3 hours to wander through and could have taken much longer.
Todd C — Google review
Absolutely amazing place to spend a day. Wear your comfy shoes and enjoy learning a lot. It’s suitable for all ages. Handicap accessible. So much to see: learning about water life, conservation, history, fishing, and more. Highly recommended!
Denise C — Google review
I wish we would've had more time, we only had an hour and half so we practically ran thru. We had our daughter and son in law and our son and his girlfriend with us, they loved it! Best aquarium we've ever been in by far! Our son is a fisheries research technician, he wants to go back and spend more time there. Young children would love it too. We saw big sharks, couple of huge groupers and pet and fed stingrays.

Dickerson Park Zoo

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Park
Dickerson Park Zoo, located just a short drive from downtown Springfield, covers 55 acres of land and is home to over 500 animals from around the world. Visitors can marvel at exotic animal exhibits, enjoy a petting zoo, and even take train rides. The zoo offers elevated walkways for up-close encounters with animals like tigers, elephants, giraffes, kangaroos, emus, and lions. Additionally, there are opportunities for animal encounters that can be reserved in advance.
Wonderful little zoo! My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was fun! I love that the zoo offers it's own tour of the whole zoo via signs. You don't really need a map, follow the zoo tour signs all over and it takes you through the whole zoo! Love that concept! My husband and I love zoos and had never been to one with its own tour! Makes it easy. The only downfall to that is while we were there, there were parts of the zoo under construction so the tour signs were misleading only because we couldn't follow it to certain areas and had to back track to see all the animals. TIP: There are maps in the gift shop, so maybe drop in there and grab one if there is still construction. The day we went was a perfect 65°F day and the animals were out and enjoying the weather with us! Our favorite part was the giraffe area. You can purchase greens to feed them and they know it so they all line up and stick there heads through the wooden structure and we got to feed about 3 different adult giraffes. It was VERY COOL!! I would highly recommend! Gift shop has a lot of good stuff too! Always fun to find souvenirs and things to remember our trip! Thank you Dickerson Park for being a great place to visit!
Chelsey H — Google review
Our family moved to Springfield and have enjoyed coming to Dickerson Park Zoo! The animals are great to see and it was definitely an interesting experience to have peacocks roaming around the zoo! The biggest issue is the bridge being out by the bears, which makes you backtrack through the Asia area to view everything instead of circling around. However, it does look like it's currently being replaced, so excited to see repair work being done!
Eric W — Google review
It was too hot for the poor Animals to be outside and to say hi! We saw a few and enjoyed that. Loved the fact that they had restrooms through out the park and food and drink! Loved the gift shop! Big fan of the penny press souvenir machines so I managed to grab a couple. Staff was good. Well maintained area! Fun for the whole family. Bought the tickets online.
Lori P — Google review
What a wonderful little zoo. My wife and I found this place as we were waiting for our commercial truck to be repaired. We went on Wends 9-10-25, and it felt like we had the whole zoo to ourselves. Took about 3 hours to walk the whole park, and we maybe saw 2 other groups of people. While people weren’t seen as much, the animals were all out for viewing. Minus the bear enclosure that was being reworked, every exhibit was open/looked well maintained. Would highly recommend and at only $19 won’t break the bank. Walked in with drinks and food, no one seemed to care. So can probably save some money packing drinks/snacks.
Smitty S — Google review
Awesome zoo! Not quite comparable to St Louis or Memphis, a lot of exhibits were closed with a note that the animals were being treated by the veterinarian. However, the animals that we did see were AWESOME. We loved the peacocks, we got to see an elephant eat, fed goats, fed giraffes, and checked out a ton of reptiles. For a small town, we loved it.
Haley P — Google review
This little Zoo had a surprisingly large variety of animals to view and interact with. The layout is easily navigated. Different paths to see all the facility or partial, with food, snacks, and restrooms strategically placed throughout. Plenty of rest benches and shade as well! Low entry cost is a bonus!
Brian W — Google review
This was such a cute zoo! Me and my family had a blast! Easy to get around but could have a bit better signs since there was some construction going on.
Cortaro L — Google review
Impromptu visit to the zoo on a gloomy Friday morning. The entry fee was reasonable and the park was much larger than I had expected. Even with the arrow signs and colored paw prints i got lost lol The grounds are well maintained with loads of surrounding shrubbery contrasting the black fences. Lots of restrooms placed around the park; which I appreciate the ease to go wash my hands. TBH was hoping not too many kiddos would be screaming throughout the park but idk what I was thinking. If there were 21+ only days (or few hours) at the zoo honestly would be more enjoyable (I have auditory sensory struggles; kids randomly 'screaming' or 'shouting' highten my flight or fight and end up in panic attack mode. really makes it hard to enjoy family friendly places 😪) Did not check out the cafe or the gift shop. I did not try the train. Parking was easy, although, I had arrived 30min after opening. I really enjoyed the lemur, vultures, zebras, blue macaw, and petting the goats. The area to feed giraffes was a decent size but can fill up fast with strollers and wagons. If you plan on feeding the goats take a few dollar bills incase the kiosk is closed. Overall I really enjoyed my trip but amenities are catered for family visits i.e. playground by the cafe, stroller rental although they allow outside strollers, splash pad for kids. the gazebo by the waterfall on the way to the flamingos was the most peaceful spot. i had my ear plugs in but was able to take the out for a bit as i found more monkeys and how to enter the flamingo viewing box.

The Discovery Center of Springfield offers an interactive and educational experience for visitors of all ages. With over 200 hands-on exhibits covering topics from DNA to dinosaurs, the center aims to spark curiosity about scientific concepts such as physics, anatomy, and the environment. Itty Bitty City within the center provides a miniature city for younger children to engage in make-believe play. The museum also features a Build a Minecraft Adventure Exhibit that appeals to both kids and adults.
We live in Branson , but visit almost once a week. My kids and I love this place so much ! My boys are 4 and 2, this place is fun for every age. Each floor is something new and educational. Every time we go we find something new ! Definitely buy a membership it’s the best deal!! I’m also a nurse and love looking at the different exhibits myself. Our favorites are the dino area , and minecraft block room. Yes this place gets packed - parties and field trips. However, we still have a blast and don’t mind the crowd. If you get a membership you don’t worry too much about a shorter visit if it’s too crowded for your liking. This is our favorite place in Springfield and what’s pushing us to move here !
Trinity N — Google review
Really disappointed as I have a lot of great memories here from when I was a kid. Everything is either broken, missing a lot of pieces, or a relic from the 90s. Only giving it a second star because the dinosaurs animatronics were neat but I suspect they will be out of order in no time.
Caleb T — Google review
This place is amazing and recommend it to anyone, with or without kids. The prices are great and if you get a family membership it’s even better. With a membership you and your family get in free all year, but there are also other centers around the country you can go to free as well. There are fun learning experiences for people of all ages, as well as special events all throughout out the year. We go several times a year and my son never gets bored of it (even now as a teenager!)
Heather S — Google review
Visiting from out of town and looking to feel some time both my kids 15 and 8 had a lot of fun going all around the building so much to do and see and play here great place to spend some down time or looking for something fun for the kids
Kenneth J — Google review
A pretty good price with a lot of things to do. It was a fun family friendly experience that we all enjoyed. Would recommend!!!!
Stella V — Google review
Had a good experience here with the dinosaurs and all the gadgets of the kids had fun playing with. Unfortunately, I had to leave early due to a very sleepy baby but I saw a miniature golf on the second floor and the third floor had tons of stuff for toddlers I'll definitely be going back. Furthermore, it was cheap and definitely worth the price.
Cawey R — Google review
The staff was very friendly. It seemed to be a kids free for all but the exhibits were very informative and 100% awesome! As a homeschool family we really loved it. It was educational and a bunch of fun! They had stuff for kids of all ages but I would say most educational activities were for 6+ age range.
Baley C — Google review
We enjoyed it. Definitely alot to see. It is geared more toward younger children. I have 2 teens but they still enjoyed themselves.

This is a very nice car museum! I am a car lover, and there are car here that I have never heard of. If you like old cars, you will find a lot to enjoy. There are nice American, as well as British, and German cars. There's a nice 60s Batmobile, and a Ghostbusters Ecto-1. It's a fun place to visit!
Joe B — Google review
Really enjoyed the visit to the museum. Nice collection of cars across many decades. Had a nice visit with Mr Guy Mace, owner of the museum, who gave us the details of several of the cars and their history. Reasonable admission price to enjoy such a nice car collection.
Don R — Google review
Incredible collection of antique and historic cars. Each vehicle is annotated with information. Vehicles are incredible… so hard not to touch! The museum is for sale for those with a dozen or so millions in the bank to spare.
Rather S — Google review
Stopped in the Route 66 Car Museum while visiting Springfield and spent a little over an hour checking out the unique cars and trucks. I was impressed with the variety of cars and how well the cars were kept in top condition. The museum even has a gift shop that sells second hand flea market stuff that has nothing to do cars.
Timothy M — Google review
Me and my two daughter just went here it was so very cool to see all these different cars old cars and movie cars the really loved the Batman, ghost buster and DeLorean. If your not a car person like us it was still just great to look and admire all the vehicles all the staff we talked with was very nice and had no issues
Kenneth J — Google review
Great place to visit on your Route 66 trip. Wide variety of cars and memorabilia. Each car has a placard with info and a short summary of the cars history. It's definitely worth a stop and I'd stop again next time I'm in the area

Pythian Castle, located in Springfield, Missouri, is a historic fortress built in 1913 by the Knights of Pythias. Originally intended to serve as an orphanage and retirement home, it now offers history tours, ghost tours, murder mysteries, and events. This gothic-style castle stands on 0.9 acres of land and holds a significant place in Missouri's history. The castle has been featured on various shows due to reports of paranormal activity within its ancient walls.
Beautiful grounds and fun experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and polite the entire tour. It is a very big castle and lots of stairs, so definitely be prepared for that. Our tour guide was able to answer all our questions and took his time explaining everything to us. He even offered to take a picture of our family out front.
Cynthia L — Google review
We went on the Ghost Tour 👻 and had a good time. The ladies who led the tour had a lot of interesting stories, recordings and photos to share. Fun experience and interesting castle. We recommend taking the tour.
Madison M — Google review
Took my wife for her bday and we had a blast! The castle was beautiful, and the staff was entertaining. If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to lean into your theme of ww2 on every aspect and ditch the non related decor. We did the ghost tour and highly recommend. The place was busy the Saturday we went.
Travis G — Google review
Online you can book a ghost or history tour with a minimum of 4 people for the history tour. We booked the 2pm tour and it took about an hour to walk through and here the history. It was a lot of fun for us and the kids highly recommend.
Ashley D — Google review
Had the pleasure of getting the opportunity to go on their ghost tour. The guide was fantastic! He was full of charisma, very knowledgeable about the history and encompassed both the history of the castle from all aspects of natural and supernatural. His beliefs are magnetic and he truly pulls you into a world in which anything is possible. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend anyone who loves history or has a fascination with the idea that there is something after death go. I honestly feel more connected to those who came before us after this and I find that comforting.
Sam W — Google review
Definitely go at night. Some parts of the tour are not for the claustrophobic and not wheelchair accessible. Great place to take children and learn the history of the mansion.
JLove — Google review
I took the guided tour and it did not disappoint. The guide was informative and they took us around the entire Castle. So much fun... you should definitely go.

Bass Pro Shops is a large sporting goods store with a wide array of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear. The Springfield store is the largest in the United States.
This is the original Bass Pro Shops, right here in Springfield, MO. It is over 500,000 square feet, offering a plethora of sporting equipment, museums, endless taxidermy, dozens of fish tanks, and more. Great place to take the kids! Fascinating museums, very well done construction. Highly recommend stopping if you’re anywhere nearby.

What a fabulous place to visit! So much to marvel at! There are several free museums or other if you want you can pay to enter the Wild Life museum. You can certainly spend a few hours walking around and looking at everything! Remember to look up!
Irene E — Google review
We had an amazing time. We went through all the exhibits, it took all afternoon and was well worth it. I would suggest if you have any health issues be aware there is lots of walking, they do offer scooters. This was the 4th Bass Pro property we have gone to and each one is different and wonderful. We love the exhibits and museums, they are Outstanding! We are not fishermen or hunters but we love Bass Pro.
Gwen C — Google review
Throughout my adult life, I’ve visited Bass Pro Shops in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Omaha, and several other locations across the country. However, I had never made it to the flagship store — until now. I have to say, I was absolutely in awe. This location feels more like a Bass Pro mall than a store, offering an experience unlike any other. If you’re a Cabela’s or Bass Pro enthusiast, this destination deserves a top spot on your bucket list. It’s truly a must-see for any outdoor lover! My only critique is for the fishing department manager. I tried to purchase a Shimano Nasci 1000, but it wasn’t available even though one was on display. I would recommend removing or clearly marking items as out of stock until replacements arrive to avoid confusion.
J R — Google review
We stopped in while in Springfield as a family member of mine had bought a boat here 30 years ago so we wanted to check it out. This location is huge!!! I thought the Clarksville, IN store was big, but this one was MUCH bigger with so much more to see. This one has so many fish tanks in the Bass Pro store, along with an archery and National Rifle Association museum inside thats FREE to look around. So many rifles from hundreds of years ago to look at. We spent over 2 hours wandering around inside, 100% recommend visiting!
Alex B — Google review
What a cool experience. I am from Michigan, and most of our bass pros are on the smaller side, but this place is huge. I really enjoyed the fun museum and I could have spent hours there without shopping. If you are anywhere near this location, I recommend you stop in.
Kevin A — Google review
Worth the stop—even if you’re not an outdoorsy type.” This location is huge and packed with everything from boats to boots. The staff were friendly, and the layout made it easy to explore without feeling overwhelmed. Loved the museum and aquarium touches—they add a lot of character. Great for families, gearheads, or anyone curious about outdoor life. Just plan for at least an hour (or three).
MJ L — Google review
The store is fine. Always fun to walk through and look at all the fish and taxidermy. However, today we came and were walking through the store after going through the aquarium. My 7 month old started getting hungry, so I decided I would make a quick restroom stop and then we would either find somewhere to nurse or head out. In the restroom I used (the ones on the second floor right by the huge stag statue, outside the aquarium/museum entrance), there is a plaque that says “nursing room available ask an associate for details.” Perfect. I went down to the front counter and asked the cashier (appropriately) named Karen (an older lady with tinsel in her hair) about the nursing room. Not only did she tell me no such nursing room existed, she told me that I could go nurse in the bathroom (ew). I questioned her on this, and told her that I just saw a sign that said there was one available. She called who I assume is her manager or supervisor and then confirmed to me that there is no nursing room, but this time told me there were fitting rooms that have the stuff to set clothes on, and I could go nurse my baby there. We went to the museum entrance and asked the person selling tickets (who was quite lovely), and they directed us to the aquarium lobby. We spoke to the lady manning the photo gallery entrance (who was also quite lovely), who told us exactly where the very existent nursing room was.

Beautiful place to walk around. The trails & facilities are kept up well. My husband & I love bringing our daughter here. Tonight we had some car troubles right before the gate closed. The Missouri conservation employee (Tim) was very kind helping us & making sure we had a way to get home. We appreciated it very much!

I had a wonderful time exploring the Springfield Conservation Nature Center! The trails are peaceful and well-maintained, perfect for hiking and spotting local wildlife. The nature center itself offers great educational exhibits that really help you appreciate the natural beauty of the area. It’s a fantastic place for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking to get outdoors and learn more about conservation. Highly recommend a visit! It's also fun when you get to see the deer running through the trails!

I have been here a few times. This last time, I accompanied my daughter's home school class to a presentation by two of the staff. I am not sure of their actual job title, but they were knowledgeable and did a fine job engaging the children with animals of Missouri. Very good! The nature trails are superb!

With over 10,000 pieces in its collection, the museum offers a journey through different cultures and artistic styles, including painting, textiles, pottery, and decorative arts from Asia to America. Established in the 1920s by a group of art enthusiasts, it has since grown to become a significant hub for art appreciation in Springfield.
Me and a friend went here on a whim on Wednesday, it was pretty fun! a good few art styles/mediums, included a few things about some of the artists, great lighting. also included some things for the general public to contribute to with both a binder full of blank paper to write/doodle a little something in, and a whole room with big wood canvases and free colored pencils to use on the canvas and draw something on the boards! overall very nice, staff super friendly and helpful!

I loved visiting the Springfield Art Museum! The museum has free admission, which is great for a family friendly adventure. They have a good variety of different styles of art. I really loved the Bradi Barth exhibition they had on display when I visited. They have many modern/contemporary artists featured as well. The courtyard is a nice place to relax. The staff here is great. I highly recommend if you're in the area.

Great visit with my granddaughters this week at the museum. No fee, great collections. We really enjoyed the watercolor exhibit. We were even able to vote for our favorites! They encourage you to sit and create for yourself or just take it all in. There was a room that the kids could add their own drawing to the wall as well. Fun. Interesting. Clean. Welcoming.

Had a wonderful visit and enjoyed much of the artwork. Could not share it all here, but I hope the pictures inspire you to visit. We spent a couple of hours just taking in all the art pieces, and they allow you to photograph without flash photography in the gallery. Have fun!

This was a beautiful art museum. I was nervous to take my kiddos but along with having pieces for kiddos, they have an entire room for children to explore art. It was nice to be able to enjoy art in a family friendly environment

It’s absolutely free which was surprising. The amount of art inside is incredible. Great atmosphere and you can spend at least an hour or two admiring the works of greats. You must leave your back packs at the front desk, they will tell you. You can’t bring any weapons inside too, there is a picture telling you on the outside

Unfortunately by the time we got to this museum (visiting from out of town) it was half an hour before it closed. But we still spent a pleasant and fairly peaceful 30 minutes surveying the museum and its exhibits, both the permanent collection and a neat exhibit on watercolors. There is a really nice area for kids that allows them to play and explore with art-related materials. It's not a large museum but it appears to be well cared for.
Frecky L — Google review
We were super surprised by the great time we had at this little museum. We've been to many of the great art museums of the world, but this gem we found to be charming. Not stuffy or dark. Nice variety in the exhibits. Interesting modern and temporary works displayed. We spent two hours here.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Springfield, Hammons Field serves as the vibrant home for the Springfield Cardinals, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals. This award-winning stadium, which opened its doors in 2004, boasts a seating capacity of around 8,000 and features an inviting general-admission lawn perfect for fans looking to enjoy a game day atmosphere.
Nice stadium. Good atmosphere & great seats! It's definitely a great time at the ballpark!

This was an experience of a lifetime for my 9 year old grandson! He plays shortstop on his traveling team and had never been to a real ball game. We had excellent front row seats to take it all in. Great close parking, every staff member I interacted with was extremely helpful, friendly and pleasant! He got a custom jersey at the team store, some food at the concession that was very reasonable for a ballpark. A host asked if he wanted to sign up for a contest after the 7th inning and we did and he had fun with that. He ended up with 2 game balls, win a bobble head at the spin-a-wheel and to top his already wonderful day JJ the Cardinals shortstop signed his Cardinal ball that we picked up at the team store! So JJ is now his favorite baseball player! He was very nice and friendly while signing. He went to a St Louis game the following week with some of his teammates and enjoyed his experience in Springfield much more! I can’t say enough of what a special day it was for a grandson and his Papa. We will be back.

This is a great Double-A stadium with a large concourse with a variety of food items. The seats are comfortable and there are grassy areas in the outfield you can visit or sit on the grass. The game was put together well with a good PA announcer and in-between inning games. The only downside is that viewing home plate from the first base side is looking directly at the setting sun when the sun is beginning to set as the game start. I recommend sitting on the third base side or wearing sunglasses and a hat. This would be 5 stars if there wasn’t an issue viewing the game on three first base side due to the sun.

This is a really nice park for a double a team. I went to see Tink Hence start and there was a two plus hour rain delay before the start of the game. The staff was great and the crowd ( at least 90 percent of them) stayed for the start. Parking was simply. I will be back to see another game sometime soon.
Leon D — Google review
Very nice ballpark. My husband and I have gone to several games and always look forward to going when we are in Springfield.
Byrdie M — Google review
Generally have enjoyed myself watching games for years here. This evening members of the staff and how they choose to talk to customers leaves me very disappointed. Simply put the GM and ground managers lack any real problem solving and true customer service. Policy is policy the way to choose to speak and treat people matters. Do better and implement training to further fix this.
Tristan T — Google review
Beautiful Ball Park. Great food and drinks. Parking very close by. Easy enter and exit. Small crowd here.
Steve P — Google review
My first visit to Springfield in a long time and the last home game of the year happening on the same day? Becomes a must visit. Sprung for the Redbird Roost ticket and they were 100% worth the price of admission: great food and views. It was an amazing spot to watch the game. I love minor league baseball and Hammons Field is a beautiful place to watch it. Easy to get to, easy parking close by, and easy to get in and out - even when you arrive just before first pitch and leave just after the game ends. Couldn't ask for more - I had an amazing time.

Peruvian restaurant
Café Cusco, located on Historic Commercial Street, offers a vibrant dining experience with traditional Peruvian dishes and cocktails in a stylish and colorful setting. The menu features a variety of rice and pasta entrees, including the popular lomo saltado made with thin-sliced steak sautéed with peppers, red onions, roma tomatoes, garlic, white wine, and tamari.
Interesting shape on the sweet potato fries. Food is very good. Service was prompt, but not rushed. First time at this restaurant for lunch...it was a pretty good experience. The building had very interesting architecture & vintage features with a nice ambience. Not a large place. The tables were spaced out nicely. There were a couple of booths that were very grand looking.. not your typical 50s diner booth. Lots of cocktails and drinks which may be their specialty because it's definitely not the iced tea, old tasting ;(

Delicious!!! I got the Amazon Fried Rice and it was so packed with flavor. The fried plantains were so perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as well. So many different dishes to try that I hadn't heard before in any other restaurant. I will be back for another culinary experience and the cozy upscale vibes with great prices. Also, they have an entire separate menu for vegans, so there really are great options for any palate!
Andrea E — Google review
This beautiful cozy restaurant features American and Peruvian dishes. I had the Amazon Rice with chard, pork, rice, peas, onions, and topped with fried plantain. Flavorful without heavy spice. Hot sauce was on the table. Fish, chicken, pasta, salads, wraps, and more. Full bar, eclectic wine list with South American wines. The carved wood and stained glass booths elevated the atmosphere and suited the copper tile ceiling.

A must stop ! Located in a beautiful historical downtown area . They offer 2 separate menus here , one regular and one entirely vegan . Robust flavor , portions weren’t outta control . Prices were on the higher end but well worth it.

Stopped here while looking for a band family dinner on the way to our hotel. We always look for places that offer vegan options as well and we were not disappointed with Café Cusco! We were able to call and make a reservation for 5 with no problem. They staff was very kind and welcoming when we arrived and the food was AMAZING. I was happy to stop somewhere that had a really nice take on traditional Peruvian cuisine to show my bandmates a little piece of my heritage as the daughter of a Peruvian born parent!

Metropolitan Grill is a vibrant urban restaurant and bar that offers a modern take on American cuisine. The menu features a mix of flavors, including inventive cocktails, pasta, and steaks. The restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere and innovative dishes, such as Italian-bread-crusted Chilean sea bass with roasted tomato and capers. On Wednesday evenings, guests can enjoy live jazz music on the covered patio along with wine and cocktail specials.
Several things on the menu sounded unique and delicious! It was a hard choice on the rack of lamb, but it was really good. I worried the mint would overpower, but it was subtle. The risotto was creamy and excellent, and overall great presentation! My husband had been once before with coworkers and really wanted this spicy pizza he previously ordered. I had a bite, and it was delicious! The service was great, and very attentive on filling drinks multiple times throughout the night. There were 2 options of butter/ dipping sauce for bread service that were both great. Our server recommended we put both on at once and that idea was super good. We finished our dinner with a sopapilla cheesecake, and that was also excellent. I can't wait to come back and try all of the other unique things they have on their menu!

Get the spinach-get the spinach. Food is good main dining room is better. Service is normally good. Not so tonight-not bad but not good enough for this place.
Terrance S — Google review
This was near our hotel and had decent reviews. I recommend it! We had been on the road for ten hours so wanted to relax over dinner. I had the smoked old fashioned which was very good and my wife had the elderflower cocktail which she really liked. The crisps spinach appetizer was a must try. A new taste for us. VG. Crystal took good care of us and was knowledgeable. We had the greenly (or something) pizza. Good crust and the meatballs plentiful and tasty. The other toppings were as well.

Being a former food service worker, I expect a lot from staff. Hadley was the perfect waitress. She made our first time experience amazing! Food was superb! Flash fried spinach is amazing as well! Thank you, Hadley!

We ate here for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience! The service was great and the food was excellent as well. This is a great spot for a date night or special occasions!
Jennifer B — Google review
Honestly, for the prices charged, the food doesn’t keep up. We ordered our steaks medium. Well, they both came into our table just barely medium. Had to send them back to finish cooking. (And then you have to wonder what actually happens to them when they’re back there.) The rest of the food was pretty good. The mashed potatoes I would recommend! We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and they put a nice touch to our visit. Customized menus, and an illuminated pink heart.

A dining experience that is always top notch. From the food to the atmosphere to the wait staff always makes me want to come back again. Dalton was our server. I love his energy and his knowledge of the menu is second to none. We could not have asked for any better treatment or service. I can tell he is in his element and enjoys what he is doing. You will never be disappointed with the food! Definitely a must add to anyone’s dining list.

Flame Steakhouse & Wine Bar is a chic two-level restaurant that specializes in a variety of high-quality steaks, seafood, and an extensive selection of wines. While the beef is the star of the show, their refined seafood options like the popular ahi tuna dish are equally enticing. The highest-grade ahi tuna is flown in from Hawaii twice a week and served with flavorful sides like wasabi slaw and mashed potatoes with candied bacon.
Had an amazing experience at this steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely top-notch. The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite was worth it. What really made the evening even better was the server, Drew. He was friendly and attentive. He gave great recommendations and made sure everything was just right throughout my meal. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great steak and outstanding service. Ask for Drew — you won’t be disappointed!

We had our first experience at Flame and it was delicious. They had lost the reservation of our party but seated us Red Room downstairs. We are glad we sat downstairs which seemed more intimate and quiet. The steak was cooked to perfection and most of the sides were tasty.

In town for a family wedding and wanted a quick but special dinner for our 9th wedding anniversary…a google search of best restaurants directed us to Flame and everything was delicious! The crust on my filet was perfect, I loved my Flirtini, the potatoes, the dessert, everything was wonderful. Jace took great care of us, he knew the menu well, we took his suggestions and loved everything. Tonight’s hostess Riley was very sweet and took a beautiful picture of us, too! Hats off to the entire staff, can’t say enough good things! Thank you for a fantastic evening!

This place is BEYOND words. The food is top notch and the cocktails are amazing. It’s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. My husband and I got steaks that were top notch. We got the cheesecake tree and the crème brûlée for dessert, both phenomenal. Abby was our server and she was beyond great. This was our first time in and she was so welcoming. She has an amazing personality and we wanted for nothing. She alone would be worth coming back for!!

This was our first visit at Flame. It was my birthday dinner. We had the filet mignon, smoked fries, asparagus, cheddar jalapeño mashed potatoes and broccoli. Everything was delicious and perfect. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this wonderful steakhouse and we will definitely be back.

Without question the best steak I've had in my living memory. Perhaps ever. Attentive and friendly service without pretentiousness. A special gem is the closeout wine list. Incredible bargains on excellent wines. The space is old school intimate and charming. A classic steakhouse of the best kind.

Had great food here, go about 2-3 per yr and tonight was close to expected. We had quite a few leftovers and were asked by our server if he could box them up for us. They did so but put everything in one box making it mush in a box. Also forgot our drinks a couple times, not a super big deal but for the upscale experience the restaurant offers and charges for it wasn’t living up to standards. Probably like $55 worth of leftovers mushed in the box.

WOW!! The food. The drinks. The service quality. The ATMOSPHERE. It was all perfect!! We had the Snake River Gold grade 6 oz. American Wagu fillet and holy cow I’ve never tasted something so tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Paired that with a bottle of Pietro Dal Cero 2012 and it was pure heaven on earth!!

We came here while visiting our daughter. The food was amazing the truffle fries, sweet potato fries with peanut butter and marshmallow creme, the nachos with pork and all the burgers were perfect. No complaints and I ordered the round and round drink with vodka, blackberries, and mint. Best drink I've had in a very long time. And our waiter Austin was so friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. If we are in srpingfield again we all agreed we will def visit again.

This was the surprise of our day. In town for a college visit for our daughter and after a long day we were starving. Our MSU tour guide mentioned this place during our tour so we thought we would check it out. I love a good burger and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the Truffle Parmesan fries to share and they absolutely delicious! Good call on the fries for sure. Our server brought all of the sauces for us to try and we enjoyed most of them but they really weren’t needed because the fries were amazing on their own. I ordered the Foodie burger and oh my it was tasty. Our daughter got the Ugly Cheeseburger and she ate every bite with a smile on her face. My wife ordered the Hippie Jen because she doesn’t eat meat. She liked it, but it didn’t knock her socks off like our burgers did to us. Overall, it was a great experience. Very friendly staff, cool atmosphere and one of my favorite burgers in years. If our daughter chooses MSU. I’m sure this will my regular spot when I visit.

Black Sheep is a great choice. Menu is perfect for any burger lover! I had a gluten free bun on the bacon burger. It was fantastic! The onions were way overdone so if you don’t like onions make sure to ask for none. If you don’t mind onions or like them but don’t want them to over power the sandwich then definitely as for light onions. The bacon was really good on the burger! My grandson got the Parmesan fries and the bowl was HUGE! He loved the fries and he is only 18 months old. The service was great, however they served could have given us a refill much sooner than he did. Our glasses were completely empty for a while, but he was still a great server. Super nice. We will definitely be back!

Black sheep was good as I had hoped! We were taking a trip, and this was a stop on the way. You step inside to a great atmosphere and are kindly welcomed. They have burgers that are different, which sets them apart from every other burger place. They have traditional too, but they offer great French fry choices too. Great sauces as well. They have an array of shakes, with or without alcohol, ours were without since we were on the road to another destination.
Brent A — Google review
Damn! That's a good burger. A co-worker ordered for our group earlier this week. It was so good, I've been thinking about it since then. So, tonight I confirmed my first impression - damn good burgers. In general, the restaurant is an odd blend of hipster meets greasy-flat-top burger joint. It's nice but not pretentious, blah blah blah. Whatever. The important part: both burgers devolved into six napkins and a fork to finish. That's just flexing. My co-worker called this place the "best burgers in Missouri" - I was skeptical at first, but...
Jason S — Google review
Amazing place to grab a beer and burger. The service stands out as friendly and efficient. I ordered a burger and cheese curds, the cheese curds were amazing , surely a shareable plate there was a lot. The spicy mayo was amazing. Surely a 'will visit again" place.

I loved eating here, I called ahead to see what kind of cocktails they offered, and they had a great array of milkshakes that they can make with or without cocktails. Overall great price we literally had 2 cocktails, 2 burgers and an appetizer and it was under $60. Loved it, I got the Light My Fire Burger 10/10 definitely recommend

Very cute atmosphere, rustic and modern! The Garlic Truffle fries are to DIE for! That is my most suggested food item. I did get the Blue Cheese burger which was delicious. This was such a great restaurant and bar. We were guests at the hotel and were pleased with the food, drinks, and service here. It’s great to find a good place within the hotel especially since we didn’t have a vehicle. We had drinks one night, dinner the next, and even drinks at the pool through their poolside window service. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area! The pad Thai was yummy, a tad spicy, but enjoyed it. The drinks were good too and I loved the “ice” bar! 🧊🍸

Stopped in for a quick lunch, I got the crab pizza. It was a little smaller than I expected and the waitress told me the mix the crab meat into the cheese. It was tasty and hit the spot so I'm satisfied. I'll be back for those fish tacos and a couple drinks next time I'm through
Cody M — Google review
Personally, I found their food menu somewhat limited. The food was really good. Just not a lot of choices... Their bar however didn't have that problem. I HIGHLY recommend the drink called "homemade ice cream" it taste just like it's name. It's like $14... And worth every penny in my humble opinion. Their bartender is the best. Tip well and he'll take care of you....
J.D. S — Google review
Very cool restaurant. Open kitchen that produces some excellent food. Had dinner 2 nights in a row and both meals were superb. Great service as well and not overpriced as is the case at most hotel restaurants. I recommend the Pad Thai bowl. Their version is simply delicious and spicy at the perfect level.
Rick G — Google review
Maybe we visited on an off night for the place. First off, the service was good. The food was the bigger issue. The pad thai and spinach dip were good. The steak frites was sent over cooked (ordered medium rare and received well) which they fixed so happy for that. The steak was still not very flavorful and tough. The lamb chops were not seared and had no flavor at all. The food had such potential and again maybe an off night. Atmosphere is weird like a fancy Dennys and smell.of pool was present.
Tom B — Google review
Resturant was dark and didnt feel very inviting... could hardly find our server and our food was mediocre at best. Me and my husband got the ribeye rare. They were medium well and had no flavor. The masked potatoes were hard and also no flavor. And the Brussel sprouts weren't even cooked all the way but were somehow roasted? How can you even charge $50 for that?? We will not be back. Insane

Haruno is a Japanese-inspired eatery that offers a relaxed dining experience with creative rolls and traditional Japanese dishes. The star of the menu is the Misoyaki Black Cod, known for its melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavors. The restaurant also features an extensive happy hour menu with discounted sushi rolls, appetizers, wine, and beer. One must-try dish is the Crystal Shrimp, which consists of large shrimp lightly fried and drizzled in a sweet lemon sauce.
Haruno is such a great little sushi spot! The fish is super fresh, and everything tastes amazing. The vibe is chill and cozy, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I especially loved the salmon sashimi and their special rolls. Definitely coming back!
Ruijia W — Google review
Haruna used to be my favorite sushi spot. The server was amazing! However, sushi was bland and not super fresh tasting (Miami Roll, Sex in the City, Jalapeno Roll) The worst part was the music to be honest. Atmosphere is such a huge part of the dining experience. On a Friday evening they played a 90's rock song, then Ghostbusters theme, into a Michael Jackson song, then some odd song from the 50's. It's a shame because the other aspects of the inside were really nice. Overall, a disappointing date night
Anthony S — Google review
Haruno’s sushi is amazing! The fish is super fresh and just melts in your mouth, and the rice is perfectly seasoned – not too hard or too soft. The staff are really friendly, and the place feels clean and cozy, which makes it relaxing to eat there. I tried the signature rolls and salmon sushi, and every bite was worth it! The portions are generous, not just for looks like some other places. The price is fair too. Definitely coming back and already told my friends about it!

Seriously, Haruno is officially my go-to sushi place. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and delicious, with spot-on seasoning that makes every bite perfect. Besides sushi, their bento box and the soups are gorgeous as well. Plus, the staff are so friendly and provide excellent service. You won't be disappointed!
Misun U — Google review
Sushi was really fresh. I especially enjoyed it because the portion of rice was smaller than usual sushi. In this way you can taste better the meat texture. I would like to send speicial thanks the Chef. Higly recommend this place.
Yeaaahji L — Google review
For a chic atmosphere and premium prices, I expect premium service. Our server was meh, but what really disappointed me was that I told her since the beginning about my seashell allergy, she/they made a mistake putting a seasoning with seashell on one of our rolls and she just gave me the menu and asked me to order something else instead of suggesting taking the roll and replacing it for what I actually requested, as it should have been, in my opinion. Not going back, there’s better places in town.

Greek Belly is a cozy and charming eatery located in South Springfield, offering a taste of authentic Greek cuisine. The interior is inspired by the Greek village Valtonera, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. The menu features classic Greek dishes such as pita wraps, gyro platters, and rice bowls, all made with traditional recipes and fresh ingredients like hummus, feta, tzatziki, and olives.
Update: We were contacted by restaurant and they showed us excellent customer service. We decided to try it out again and had excellent food. The Midas Gyro, and falafel platter were both great. It deserves the 5th star. ——————————- I highly recommend the Hercules Gyro for a protein packed meal! My wife’s gyro bowl however had dry and crunch rice. We would not recommend that dish. It’s what knocked the review down from 5 stars.

We had a pleasant visit to Greek Belly. We started with the falafel and melitzana dip—both were very tasty. For the main course, we had the lamb, which was full of flavor and cooked just right. We also added feta cheese to our fries, which was a great touch—highly recommend it! The service was good, and having parking available was definitely a plus. A solid spot for authentic Greek food.

Greek food is one of my most favorite meals out there. The Belly has some of the BEST! Wanting to try as many dishes as possible, we ordered the Prometheus Feast with (a must have) spanikopita. It was all fabulous. When I find a place I adore, I always ask if I can buy a shirt. Beg, if they only offer them to employees... sometimes I get lucky and score one!

We had a great dinner and received excellent service. I have been looking for a Mediterranean restaurant for a while and this one is great. We will definitely be back next time we come into town!

Bambinos Cafe on Delmar

Italian restaurant
Bambinos Cafe on Delmar is a charming Italian trattoria tucked away in a residential area near MSU, making it a favorite among local students. The restaurant, housed in a converted 1930s grocery store, exudes rustic charm with wood tables and terra-cotta floors. Voted one of the best Italian restaurants in town, it offers a welcoming, casual atmosphere and an extensive menu of Italian favorites.
Fresh chopped garlic with your bread basket. Excellent service! Cozy atmosphere and casual neighborhood vibe. Very delicious food. Local Art on the walls. Awesome Tiramisu. Very charming.

The mushroom ravioli was amazing! The spinach artichoke dip was very different. It was almost like Alfredo sauce with a few pieces of spinach and fewer artichokes. The bread that came with it wasn’t even toasted. Overall I would go back I just would not order the dip at all. My husband got the Greek pasta not a lot of feta and flavor was very mild.

I went during a busy lunch and I only had a brief wait. My server did a great job. The food was delicious and plentiful.
Jan S — Google review
This neighborhood restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It is clean, nicely decorated, the tables are comfortably spaced, In addition to a great menu, there are daily specials that are very tempting. The server was so good. She took the time to explain the menu, making great recommendations. The food was delicious! It tasted like homemade, which is a real treat! There is plenty of parking. Outdoor seating is an option. This place is a gem!

The new building is great. Artwork inside is good too. Food is fantastic like it has always been. The prices may make it the best value in town. Great restaurant!
Andy S — Google review
Skip the Nonna. It tasted like can soup with boiled chicken. It wasn't very good. The bread however is good. Dip the bread in the garlic and it takes the nasty pasta flavor out of your mouth. The Greek was in a garlic butter sauce, with boiled chicken and canned olives. It was alright but bad after taste from the olives.

We visit here very often, it was a great experience! Also, it was a huge staffing improvement compared to before the remodel/reopening! Our server was the best we’ve ever had at Bambino’s (name in attached photo of bill)! Great job!

I had an excellent experience here. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, fresh, and came out super fast even during lunch. I recommend everybody stop by at least once

Bawi Korean BBQ

Mentioned on

Korean barbecue restaurant
Bawi Korean BBQ is a unique dining spot in Springfield, offering an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue experience. The restaurant features natural gas grills built into the tables, allowing diners to cook their food in a communal style. In addition to classic BBQ meats like brisket and pork, Bawi also offers new and exciting additions to the menu. This contemporary eatery provides a casual setting for guests to enjoy traditional Korean side dishes alongside their barbecued meats.
Love the food, fresh and filling. I had the beef brisket, spicy chicken, pork belly and tofu. I never had Korean BBQ before, love the grill on the table and I was able to cook the meat myself. Makes a fun experience on a date or with family. Lots of vegetables, soup and rice great. Love how at the end of the meal you get ice cream! Definitely will go back. Great price too, all you can eat for $24!

My husband and I have never been here before and decided to go for a date. The waiter (Christopher) didn't take the time to explain how anything worked so we figured it out on our own. Food was excellent! Restaurant was clean. Christopher was slow to come back and check on us. Finally, when we got the bill, he said that he could cash us out at the table and walked off . Tired of waiting so we walked up front and found Christopher sitting down on his phone. Then a nice waitress checked us out.... My husband was generous enough to tip him (which he didn't deserve how much he gave him) But all in all the food was great but out waiter was NOT.
Lynda W — Google review
The place was not the cleanest I've seen. The food was "okay"...the steak and the thinly sliced brisket was the best thing we ate. The concept is super fun and we did enjoy cooking our food. The radish soup is definitely NOT worth getting...they offer it up to you with the white rice. One thing I didn't like was the dollar store silverware!! Anyway, it is a fun time with mediocre food.

Coming from a place that usually has kbbq this is a good place! I truly recommend, has perfect cuts of your typical meats and good amount of portions. The meat is also perfect marinated and the dipping sauces are the perfect amount of spice 👌🏼. Servers were fast and very kind. Also reasonably priced as well. I'm happy we were able to find this place here in Missouri.
Lisa A — Google review
The food portion can be a little larger, but it's all you can eat with a catch. No take outs, and you will be charged extra if meat is left over from the meal. And you have a 2 hr time limit on the table. You get to choose the way your food is prepped by you cooking it over a stereo stove. There are no paper menu's, you scan a vr code that links you to their website. As you scroll down they give you cooking times for each item. The menu options are divided up into 2 categories, standard and premium. Premium getting more options. Our server was friendly, and observant about our drink refills, we did not have to ask him or press the call button. If you are on a budget the standard is actually still good. But just be prepared to pay beyond $30 dollars for two. You sit at a table with an open section in the middle where your grill is in place, you get all the cooking tools you need, just no knife to eat with. Each table can sit up to 4 comfortably, so a parties larger than 4 I recommend making a reservation. Walking in may not work if you want your group to sit together. The set up almost reminds me of a Denny's just no large half round tables for groups.
Aaron — Google review
Yes, the service isn't always great. However, the food is amazing. You need to research a restaurant before you go, especially one where you cook the food yourself. The price is high because it is all you can eat. The desert is all you can eat. Its perfect for familys, date night etc. My advice is to make a reservation before you go.
Cheyenne S — Google review
Place is great, family always go and awesome food. Only gripe I have is when did they automatically start charging tips? Went in friday with the wife and 2 kids and when I went to pay bill it automatically had tips added to my bill. I didnt question it but would of been nice to know about before hand. Our waiter was poorly trained and seemed like he didnt care to much about customer service.

Avanzare Italian Dining

Mentioned on

Italian restaurant
Avanzare Italian Dining is an intimate, chef-owned restaurant that has been a Springfield staple for over two decades. The fine dining experience offers a modern take on Northern Italian cuisine and is owned and operated by five-star chef Tony Garcia. The restaurant recently moved to a spacious 1,200-square-foot location with seating for over 250 people, including a private dining area and patio seating overlooking a scenic pond with fountains.
Avanzare Italian Dining exceeded every expectation. From the elegant ambiance to the attentive, friendly service, everything about our visit was top-notch. It’s clear the team here cares deeply about creating a memorable dining experience. The food was phenomenal, but the standout for me was the ribeye—truly one of the best I’ve had in my life. Cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, it’s a dish I’ll be thinking about for a long time. The pasta and appetizers were equally impressive, with fresh ingredients and rich, authentic flavors in every bite. Yes, it’s on the pricier side—but it’s worth every penny. If you’re looking for a high-quality Italian meal that delivers across the board, Avanzare is the place. Highly recommended.

Dined here for a friends birthday. We had 12 people total. It was quite loud the night we went so it was a little hard to hear the waiter. The food was absolutely delicious. My dish had pesto mashed potatoes which were an interesting shade of green. The chocolate lava dessert was scrumptious. I was expecting it to be kind of like Chili’s similar dessert, it was not. This was so much better. I would go back just for that. It was a busy night and our server seemed to be getting flustered with our tickets. A few were wrong and he did get them fixed for us. All it all, I would go back.

Beautiful atmosphere, service is top notch and the food, I felt like I was in my Great Grandmother's dinning room!!!💞❤️💋 Real authentic Italian cuisine, the most delicious food I've eaten since my Great Grandmother passed away!!! I highly recommend this establishment to everyone who wants Real Italian food or whom ever has wished to try it!!! Everything in this restaurant is absolutely amazing!!! I encourage you to go and check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed!!!❤️💞💋😀 This is a few of the dishes myself and my family chose for dinner!!! Family night out, this is the place you want to go for sure!!!❤️🙏😊💯

It was very loud in the restaurant. We had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection and very tender. The server was new at opening bottles but was honest and attentive. He was agreat server. The prices were very reasonable. They were out of tiramisu because the owner hasn't taught anyone else to make it and wasn't there that day.

This place was everything you want in Italian fine dining! Exceptional food and the restaurant is stunning. I had the lobster ravioli with sautéed shrimp in a spicy red sauce with a hint of cream. Yum! Started my meal with caprese with balsamic reduction. And my waitress Anna R was just delightful, attentive and very knowledgeable. Plus you can't beat the pesto butter with warm bread brought to the table. Highly recommend!

There is no better service in town! Always friendly and always spectacular. And the food is amazing with giant servings. Hands down my favorite Italian place in Springfield. We almost always get one of the specials as they are always fire and unique. Took my mom and dad here for mothers day and they are in love (and my dad's kind of a picky eater 🙃).

My son in Law could not have picked a better fine dining place. Excellence in Italian culinary, my compliments to the chef. Absolutely deserving of compliments all around. Che buono!
Carmen V — Google review
Other than the 3 ounce piece of fat on the end of my ribeye, the pasta and fish special were beyond delish! Loved the complementary cheese and sausage plate that came with our bottle of wine. The true highlight though was service by Zach Bone, who was knowledgeable and on point our entire visit. Don't hesitate to try this most excellent restaurant!

Transportation in Springfield

Nearby airports

Springfield-Branson National Airport

Domestic airport
Airport
Springfield-Branson National Airport is a spacious and easy-to-navigate airport served by American Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. The open-air style of the main foyer and gate area reduces potential travel stress. It offers rental car options, gift shops, dining choices, and a history section with full-scale replicas of early aircraft. The airport provides a clean and quiet environment with ample parking space.
Really easy to navigate this Airport and the staff in all areas were really nice. Highly recommend flying into this airport as a hub for exploring the beautiful area. We drove 2 hours south to Jasper Arkansas and really enjoyed the amazing Ozarks. It's definitely worth the drive. Go to Jasper Pizza and The Cliff House Inn

Friendly staff and quick security most of the time I've been there. The size makes things easy to deal with. Finding your parked car is easy here compared to large airports. I wish the rates for parking were a little lower
Christian H — Google review
The airport is small and easy getting through but, this last trip I had to wait an hour for my checked bag. When I got home I realized the bag was damaged.
Adam S — Google review
It's a quaint and lovely airport. Brought back great memories of when my Grandpa and Dad would take me and my sister when we were little to the airport to watch planes take off and land. And it was so sweet that me and my Dad did the same thing as I waited for my flight back to Florida, after two delays. I'm concerned that the lead TSA agent gave me a look after moving my bag over to be checked, because of liquids??? I had no problem in St Pete when I went through TSA with the same liquids. Dude looked at me like a criminal. But the young lady that searched my bag was sweet.
Sydney G — Google review
Very helpful American Airlines staff agent helped me print out both my boarding passes. The TSA checkpoint is relatively small, so on busy days I would come early. They gave me no trouble when I opted out of the TSA face scanner. There are reasonable prices by Gate 6 at a place called Tailwind - $10 for a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on your choice of bread. The bread was well toasted. Also assortments of smoothies same place. They have lunch starting at 10:30-45 The airport itself is relatively small. The gates line up from 1 to 10, making it easy to walk with no stairs or shuttles needed. There’s probably no worry about planes colliding because of the simple layout.

Small but beautiful airport. Easy to navigate. Very friendly staff . Loved the jeep willys on display as fire truck
Jayaraj S — Google review
Love love coming through this airport. Very easy to navigate as well as the great staff. However this time around I was flying out to LGA through Atlanta on Delta and checked in as usual. The agent at the counter was very rude when I asked a simple question of how long my layover would be in Atlanta, perhaps I’ve never seen this person before as I do fly through here a lot, but she was very rude to where I was taken aback. She was huffing and puffing as if I was disturbing HER time at the counter, all while rolling her eyes at me. She was African American, with beads in her hair that’s all I remember. I don’t recall even seeing a name tag but this encounter makes me question my time with Delta or even at SGF as a whole. Please do better or hire people with accurate and consistent basic customer service skills.
Lauren — Google review
I’ve been traveling regularly through this airport for years as part of a co-parenting arrangement — my daughter and I fly back and forth every few months, and we’ve never had an issue until recently. On our most recent trip, security stopped us at the gate and asked my 5-year-old daughter to state her full name. She naturally replied “Gracie,” which is the nickname we’ve always used for her middle name (her legal name is Stella Grace). I politely explained this, but the agent gave me a confused look and the whole exchange felt much more like an interrogation than a simple verification. What made it especially uncomfortable was that my daughter and I have different skin tones — I’m Hispanic and she’s biracial — and it felt like we were being singled out because of that. I understand security has a job to do and sees countless passengers every day, but as a mother and primary caregiver, I shouldn’t have to defend my relationship with my own child. We’ve flown this exact route many times without any issues, so it was a disappointing and upsetting experience to feel like we were being racially profiled. I hope the staff receives more training on how to handle situations like this with sensitivity and awareness.
