South Haven

South Haven is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. Most of the city is in Van Buren County, although a small portion extends into Allegan County. The population was 3,964 at the 2020 census. History museum
The Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven is a treasure trove of Great Lakes and boating history and culture. The museum boasts exhibits showcasing the area's rich maritime heritage, along with a research library and a store offering nautical-themed items. Visitors can explore the museum grounds, which include a boathouse, small watercraft annex, and an outbuilding for knot-tying activities.
I visited the Michigan Maritime Museum this past Friday, and it was such a cool experience. Right from the start, the museum had a welcoming vibe — the staff were super friendly, easy to talk to, and seemed genuinely excited to have visitors. They made the whole place feel more relaxed and fun. One of my favorite parts was the game area. It’s not every day you go to a museum and actually get to play around and interact with things, so that definitely stood out. The museum also has a bunch of real historical pieces that give you a deeper appreciation for Michigan’s maritime history. It’s not just displays behind glass — you actually get to push buttons, try activities, and explore in a hands-on way. The interactive buttons scattered throughout the exhibits were awesome. It kept things interesting and helped explain the history in a way that didn’t feel boring or overwhelming. We had a group of teens (ages 14–17), and everyone found something to enjoy. Some were into the historical ships, others liked the tech and games — there’s honestly something for every type of person, no matter your age. The museum is also easy to find and navigate. It’s not huge, so it doesn’t feel like a marathon to get through, but there’s still a lot packed into the space. Whether you're into history or just looking for something different to do with friends or family, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Overall, the Michigan Maritime Museum is a fun and engaging place that mixes history with hands-on learning. It’s perfect for anyone looking to learn a little and have a good time doing it.

A very interesting museum focused around steamship travel in the Great Lakes. The Lindy Lou was a very calming boat ride through the beautiful local area, not necessarily a guided tour, but the ship's captain was more than happy to answer all of my questions! A beautiful area! Would highly recommend!

This was certainly an unexpected highlight of our trip. We ended up spending so much time there that we skipped the bear ranch. Bring your swimsuit if weather permits as the also have a great beach front.

This was the best darn time with my 9 year old son! Captain Bob and crew made it so educational and realistic to the history. We learned a lot. My son became an apprentice crew hand and even got to steer the ship. I can't recommend this enough. Next time, I will get some motion sickness meds beforehand. Highy recommend!

Great exhibits and gift shop. Sad the water made it so we couldn't do the Lake trip. Took a river cruise. Relaxing, calm water, rain happened AFTER our trip (phew)!

We booked a 45 min ride on Merry Time. Captain Kirk was awesome. The museum was a nice bonus. Well worth it.

We took the sailing ship tour with our grandkids and had a wonderful trip, and the museum was very nice too
Michael L — Google review
We had a fantastic time on the day sail. The ship is beautiful, and it was awesome to see the bow rise and fall so dramatically into the waves. The crew was incredible! They know how to pilot the ship with confidence and ease. They engage with the passengers, and are eager to explain the workings of the ship, and its history. They all obviously love their work, and had the visitors laughing throughout the entire voyage. The introduction really prepared us for what we experienced. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. Kevin

Historical landmark
The South Haven Lighthouse, a traditional red structure built in the 19th century, stands as an iconic landmark accessible via a concrete pier. In addition to its historical significance, South Haven offers various outdoor adventures such as ATV rentals and trails, sailing experiences, and winter sports at the ice rink. Visitors can also indulge in wine tasting at Cogdal Vineyards and explore the town's rich history through museums like the Michigan Maritime Museum and family-friendly attractions like Bumbleberry Acres.
The South Haven Lighthouse is a true Lake Michigan icon and a highlight of any visit to the area. Standing proudly at the end of the historic South Pier, this vibrant red beacon has guided ships since the early 1900s and remains a beloved symbol of South Haven’s maritime heritage. The walk out to the lighthouse, especially at sunset, is nothing short of magical — waves crashing along the pier, sailboats drifting by, and the golden light reflecting off the water create an unforgettable scene. It’s a photographer’s dream and a peaceful escape for anyone needing a moment of beauty and reflection. The catwalk overhead, one of the last of its kind on the Great Lakes, adds a unique historic charm. Whether you’re strolling hand-in-hand, capturing the view, or simply soaking up the lakeshore breeze, the South Haven Lighthouse never disappoints.

Nestled between the tranquil shores of South and North Beach, the South Haven Lighthouse is a beloved gem on Lake Michigan, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, recreational charm, and maritime history. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or simply a visitor enjoying the serene atmosphere, this lighthouse is a must-see. The lighthouse itself stands as a beacon of history and elegance, with its striking red-and-white striped design standing proudly against the backdrop of the vast blue lake. The walk out to the lighthouse along the pier offers stunning views of the water, with the soft sound of the waves lapping at the shore providing a peaceful soundtrack to your visit. It's a perfect spot to snap a photo or just take in the beauty of the landscape. What truly elevates the experience at South Haven Lighthouse is its vibrant boating culture. Whether you're watching sleek, colorful sailboats glide across the water or admiring the luxurious yachts that dock nearby, the maritime vibe here is undeniable. It's a dynamic, constantly changing scene that brings energy to the otherwise tranquil setting. Fishing enthusiasts will also find plenty to love. Whether you're sunbathing, building sandcastles, or wading in the shallows, the beaches here offer a perfect escape. The water is refreshingly warm, making it ideal for swimming and wading, especially during the summer months. Whether you’re strolling along the pier, admiring the boats, casting a line, or simply relaxing on the beach, it’s a spot where visitors of all interests can find something to enjoy. A visit here is like stepping into a postcard, with every corner of the area offering a new, breathtaking view.

Visited on 6.19.2025. One of numerous lighthouses I explored during my travels through Michigan. The walk to it along the beach and the jetty is definitely worth it.

Make sure you look at parking fees. They enforce parking. Plan to walk and be with a lot of people. The lighthouse is pretty and the beach is nice! Plenty of space but a very busy beach. There are lots of play sets and very geared to kids.
Sarah P — Google review
We went midday on the 4th of July. Despite the crowds, we found parking and enjoyed walking around the beach and out on the pier. Beautiful views all around!

Beautiful beach! Soft sand and cold water. The light house is beautiful as well!! Fun walk out on the pier

Beautiful views of the lake and the coast of Michigan you sit for hours watching the boats bob by on the waves. The parking can be a pain though

A Winter Wonderland & Sunset Spectacle The South Haven lighthouse is simply magical, especially during the winter months. If you're looking for a breathtaking sunset, this is the place to be. The way the sun paints the sky and reflects off the snow and ice surrounding the lighthouse is truly unforgettable. The icy landscape itself is a stunning natural masterpiece, creating a unique and picturesque scene. Beyond the lighthouse's beauty, South Haven itself is a gem. The town is meticulously designed, offering a charming and welcoming atmosphere. The friendly locals add to the experience, making you feel right at home. And when the winter chill sets in, you'll find plenty of cozy little cafes and shops to warm up in after your visit to the pier. Whether you're a photographer, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful and beautiful experience, the South Haven lighthouse is a must-see. It's a perfect blend of natural beauty and small-town charm, making it a truly memorable destination.

The Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum, a National Historic Site and educational outreach center, honors the life and work of Dr. Liberty Hyde Bailey, known as the Father of Modern Horticulture. The museum features his original 1857 home and carriage house, offering visitors a glimpse into his influential ideas on agrarianism. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the rich history of the area with visitors.
Get the kids off the beach for an hour and go see this museum! It will only take a bit of time but it packs a punch! A friendly volunteer greeted us and was informative. Beautiful flowers and a short wooded walk awaits.
Joanne W — Google review
We visited on a Wednesday while it was too windy to go to the beach. Our family had a great time. The museum is small, but filled with interesting artifacts and historical information. My kids, 10 and 8, loved taking the museum’s pre-packed backpacks and doing the nature scavenger hunt. The walk is flat, well-maintained, and has some neat art installations. After we finished the scavenger hunt, they played in the mud kitchen and on the music in the woods station. We spent an hour at the museum. We would definitely go back and recommend, especially if you’re looking for something free or a little different.

A very nice, small local museum and gardens. The young lady that gave us our tour did an excellent job and was a wealth of information.

Awesome place. Good history of SW Michiganagriculture. Well organized and maintained. Was the anchor location for the South Haven Michigan garden walk.

I had no idea how interesting and informative that a visit to this tiny museum would be. I was born and raised in South Haven and yet had never gone inside until last year... I learned so much about the area's history!!! What a rich background of different times and peoples blended into our area of Michigan. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly.

So much to learn about a famous South Haven naturalist! I learned so much! Great indoor exhibits and a fun trail in the woods out back. Good for kids!

Or would you rather lots of great different family friendly activities and a beautiful garden Walk.

What a wonderful experience visiting this museum. The staff was very knowledgeable and we had a wonderful visit. I never knew this place existed until recently but it's worth the trip to South Haven to see it. Maxine was very knowledgeable and passionate about what was in the museum and made the visit even better. It's small on the inside but has a beautiful outdoor exhibit in the spring summer and fall.

Clementine's is a spacious and relaxed dining destination housed in a historic building from the 1800s. It offers a variety of classic dishes such as seafood, pasta, and grilled meats. The restaurant has been a popular spot for both locals and tourists for nearly 40 years. Its menu features traditional favorites like French onion soup, homemade onion rings, and fried lake perch. The nostalgic decor includes original brickwork, tin ceilings, and an old bank safe.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. Great food always, I was able to bring my one year old here for his first time this past weekend. The waiting system has been modernized with a text based notification, which is convenient. Excellent staff, menu, and dining conditions. I enjoyed the olive burger on my most recent visit. The onion rings are particularly well prepared.

Last minute decision for a place to eat and always on par with food and service. Brittany was great and kind. Had a burger and fries so nothing too fancy. I usually get the famous onion rings but maybe next time. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

What an incredibly beautiful restaurant. This is such a special place on the lake right in the heart of South Haven, an enchanting little beach town. Having grown up in Benton Harbor / St. Joseph, the main downtown area of South Haven reminds me of the quaint beauty of St. Joseph. The decor of the restaurant is old world style, with interesting model ship builds and marina themed artwork and photography. The well-made wooden furniture adds to that incredible charm, welcoming visitors into the adventurous ambience of the place. The food itself was delicious, warm, and effortlessly savory. The salads were GIGANTIC in portion, which was surprising and very pleasing! The decadent garlic toast is a must have for every visitor, it is simply to die for. The various fried fish options are plentiful and very well seasoned for flavorful morsels in every bite. Visual presentations of each dish were simple and exquisite with a pub-style feel. Ready made sauces and easy access sides like coleslaw are perfect pairings for every entree. The specialty drinks were made well. My husband enjoyed a Bloody Mary, while I chose a simple Shirley Temple, but was wonderfully made with cherry splendor. Clementine's is a must visit for every visitor to South Haven. This is a dining experience you won't soon forget! ⛵️

Beautiful and large interior. Friendly service. Tater skins were good. Fry texture was a bit rubbery. Didn't finish them. This is for regular plus curly. Perch sandwich should have a lil less bread or a lil more perch. But the perch wasn't my favorite anyway. Hot chicken was decent.

The hostess was super nice upon entry but the bartender was an absolute nightmare when I was trying to pick up my to go order. She had a terrible attitude and turned my smile upside down very quickly. The energy she gave to me made me forget to tip the kitchen because I thought it’d go to her and she was so unpleasant. The food was decent in comparison to a normal Caesar salad, but it definitely wasn’t the quality I normally get here. This is the first time I’ve ordered out from here and I probably wouldn’t again. It was also within the first hour they opened, I don’t know. Maybe it was an off day.

What a sweet restaurant! The food, the service and the atmosphere was top-notch!!! We really enjoyed the experience. The salad I enjoyed was large enough for 2 people to share.

We enjoyed our food here. I opted for the Clem's O-Ring Burger with fruit as my side. My brother had the Red Rooster's Haven. They were both delicious. Stephanie, our waitress, was awesome! She was friendly, professional, and attentive. I would definitely visit here again, when in town.

Absolutely wonderful place to eat! Our food was all delicious, service was quick, and the price was surprisingly affordable. The only downside was the wait for a table, even in the middle of the afternoon. But that’s obviously not even a negative thing, shows they’re wonderful and popular!

Small plates restaurant
Restaurant
Taste is a cozy bar and eatery offering a diverse menu of small plates paired with martinis. The chef-inspired, made-from-scratch recipes include options like mac-n-cheese, potato pancakes, salmon, tuna tartare, blue gill, Korean chicken barbecue, sushi, and fish tacos. There are also dairy-free, garlic-free, egg-free, and vegan choices available. Chef Joel adds a unique twist to traditional dishes for an exceptional dining experience.
I was so happy to see that Taste is still alive and doing well in South Haven. It’s been 11 years since I visited this town and this restaurant. Of course I had to dine here again since I had a great experience last time, and it did not disappoint. Austin was our server and took great care of us. He was friendly and personable. My husband and I started out with martini cocktails, a paper plane (bourbon drink) for him and a blueberry lemon one for me. Both were tasty. We decided to share four small plates for dinner, cilantro tuna roll, seafood dip, blue gill and jerk shrimp. Each plate was delicious. Food and cocktails on point! I definitely recommend Taste.
Marianne I — Google review
We always head to Taste on our first night in South Haven. The bread and butter is simple but seriously delicious - it's our single favorite thing on the menu! The ribs are reliable - tender and tasty. The tomato bisque is also excellent. The hummus was a little disappointing, not a lot of flavor and the pita seemed like grocery store pita right out of the bag - grilled and seasoned would be a nice touch. But overall reliable and tasty.

This restaurant is a MUST TRY when you’re in town!! Their food is top notch! We were in town for 2 nights and we had to eat here both days, that’s how good it was the first night! The jerk shrimp is a MUST!! Coconut sweet rice with a perfectly seasoned slightly spicy shrimp… what a combo! We also LOVED their sushi! The atmosphere and the location are perfect. Service was excellent as well! If you’re a fan of bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and great drinks, this place is an absolute must-visit. Overall experience, delicious food, exceptional service, and a fantastic atmosphere! 10/10 in every way. We will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I LOVED this restaurant! We walked in on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away. The restaurant is clean, well maintained, and has plenty of bar seating as well. Service was great and food came out pretty quick. We ordered the salmon, filet bites, and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious but we liked the filet bites the most. This was one of the highlights of our trip to South Haven. I’d love to come back here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

We came here for our one year wedding anniversary and enjoyed some incredible food! The sushi melted in my mouth and they had some bread pudding with pumpkin ice cream that was a real treat! Our server Heidi was super friendly too!
Vanya W — Google review
We went to Taste for my birthday dinner based on reviews I had seen when looking for South Haven restaurants. It did not disappoint! We got several small plates to share and some to keep to ourselves - I chose the blackened chicken in fennel cream sauce while my husband had the filet bites medium rare. He also got tempura shrimp. We split the potato pancakes and the chef's mac & cheese (chipotle cheddar with bacon and tomatoes). My drink was the Elderflower Breeze and he had a Larceny Old Fashioned. And we topped off the meal with a cookie pie. We ate everything but about 3 of the sushi rolls and while we were definitely full, we weren't overstuffed. We are definitely adding Taste to our rotation of places to eat when in the area! Be aware that parking can be a bit tricky if you are visiting during peak summer season. We found street parking a couple of blocks away but we did have to loop a few times. Also during peak season, they limit the number of reservations in order to open up more tables for walk-ins. We arrived about 6:30 pm to put our name in and were seated in about 45 minutes. People that came in closer to 7 were given wait times anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours (inside vs. outside seating). It sounded like you could also walk in and eat at the bar if spots were available. The atmosphere is lively and loud. We saw all types of attire from dressy to extremely casual (think post-beach - shorts, tube top, and flip flops). We were perfectly fine in jeans and nicer tops.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-visit gem that had our whole family coming back two days in a row! Taste delivered such a memorable experience, we couldn’t stay away. On our first visit, I tried the Korean Chicken BBQ—tender chicken thigh meat over creamy coconut rice, draped in a rich teriyaki BBQ sauce and topped with crunchy fried wontons. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the generous portion of meat over rice was a welcome surprise. Filling, satisfying, and downright addictive. Round two? The Sweet-n-Smokey Ribs. Cooked to perfection with meat that slid right off the bone. The sauce was exactly as promised—deeply sweet and smoky, and generously slathered (just how I like it). The fresh, crisp coleslaw was the perfect sidekick. But the biggest curveball was the grilled cheese—not your average sandwich! The Parmesan crust gave it a golden crunch, and the triple cheese interior made it ultra indulgent. Paired with perfectly cooked broccoli, it was an unexpected hit. I also had the house salad topped with grilled chicken, and it was just as impressive—fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. Though Taste brands itself as a small plates spot, the experience delivered big on quality, creativity, and satisfaction. And to top it all off, their blueberry lemonade was the perfect summer beverage—refreshing, lightly sweet, and a great partner to the entire meal. The staff was all smiles and made us feel completely welcome. I’ll definitely be making this spot a regular stop whenever I’m in town!
Aaron P — Google review
Taste is hands down one of our absolute favorite places to dine in South Haven. Every time we’re in town, it’s a must stop. No vacation is complete without a visit here. The food and cocktails are truly exceptional, and the quality is consistently top notch. We always start with the espresso martini, which is honestly one of the best we’ve had anywhere. It’s smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The filet bites are cooked to perfection every time and melt in your mouth, and the goat cheese and beet salad is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we’ve tried is made with care and creativity, and you can taste the difference. You really can’t beat the combination of delicious food, expertly crafted cocktails, and a place that feels like a vacation tradition. Taste is a true gem in South Haven and easily one of the best spots in the area for a memorable meal.

Italian restaurant
Maria's Taste of Italy is a charming, family-run restaurant that offers a true Italian dining experience. The owner/chef uses a 100-year-old family recipe for Italian sausage, adding a personal touch to the menu. Guests can enjoy homemade favorites such as lasagna, meatballs, pizza, ravioli, and breadsticks. The gelato selection and mouthwatering pies are also highly praised by patrons.
We had a nice dinner at Maria's. The pasta was fantastic, the lasagna was delicious, and the pizza was a 7.5/8 out of 10. We prefer mozzarella and it was nice and thick. We don't eat Italian often, but we do like it. This time around, we were pleased. The service was good location was fine. Recommended-MVP

My dental hygienist just got back from a trip to South Haven just as we were getting ready to head that way so I asked her what she recommended and Maria's was at the TOP of her list. Obviously we HAD to stop. We were NOT disappointed! Our server was very nice and did an ok job. A little slow, but not anything bad. The food was INCREDIBLE! Like roll your eyes back in your head kinda good. My husband got the open faced meatball sub. I got spaghetti. And our daughter got the stuffed shells. My husband and I came home with an entire second meals worth of leftovers. And the price was very reasonable. It was only $50 for the three of us. My favorite part was how QUIET the restaurant was. I have sensory issues and crowd noises/restaurant noises can be very painful for me. There was very little of that here. A little bit of noise from the kitchen, but hardly any crowd noises. (It was also 2pm on a Saturday. So it wasn't very crowded.) Which is JUST what I needed after strolling the Center Street shops. We will definitely be coming back to Maria's if we visit South Haven again!
Tamar K — Google review
Maria's taste of Italy serves mouth-watering family recipes handed down from Sicilian ancestors with from-scratch bread and perfectly seasoned sauces. The Alfredo sauce was creamy with extra cheese. The meatball appetizers were big enough for an entree. Fresh breadsticks melt in your mouth. Even the herbal tea was served with a slice of lemon, selection of flavors, and extra hot water. Staff were friendly and genuine. They also offer a selection of locally bottled soda. We came on. Monday for lunch around noon and were seated immediately. Definitely recommend!
Amber G — Google review
Wow... the food was excellent! It was busy so we sat outside, which wasn't bad, but the service is probably better if you're inside. The toasted ravioli was great, the pizza was good and the Palmero was excellent. Great flavors and preparation all around 🔥 would definitely recommend and will return.
Chase C — Google review
Went to Maria's in the early afternoon on a Thursday. It was cloudy out and we asked to sit outside, to which the wait staff were highly against due to a fear of rain and if it were to get busy, the service would have been slow. Ok, no worries. We then sat upstairs. The upstairs was bigger than we thought, and had cute decor. The waitress came to our table and introduced herself within 5 minutes of being seated. We got lemonade, milk for our toddler and a sprite tasting drink. They do not have cups for kids. The side salad came out drenched in dressing and cheese. We ordered a 16 inch Margherita Pizza. The pizza was filling, but the pizza did not taste the greatest. It was the equivalent to a cheese bread. The service was good, but we'd skip this place if we want a pizza in South Haven.

I will start with the good: The chicken Parmesan was the best we’ve ever had, we ate most of it before we could take pictures. I would come back for that dish alone. Generous portion size, reasonable price, flavor was awesome, cooked to perfection. I would also like to try the lasagne and spaghetti. Waitress was so kind and pleasant. The not so good: Extremely Long wait times, and did not allow carry out on Saturday. I would suggest calling hours ahead, going inside to put your name on the wait list, and go do something to pass time until they call. Also, the pizza was unbelievably disappointing. The crust was hard, dry, and seemed like a frozen pre made crust—NOT FRESH HAND TOSSED DOUGH like you would expect from an Italian restaurant—ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE POINT. Definitely disgusting and from the pictures online it looks like maybe they changed the way the pizza was made recently? It appears that it was fresh hand tossed dough at some point before, but what we received looks like a frozen pizza. Save your money for sure and stick with the other menu items.

They offer gluten free dining options including cheesy bread (so good!), pizzas, pastas including raviolis, and desserts. The entrees are massive! I highly recommend giving it a try but maybe take them up on the split plate charge because it’s so much food!

Old school Italian restaurant. Pizza was quite good as was were the salad and bread sticks. Menu was fairly diverse with a decent number of vegetarian and pescatarian options. Service was very good and the atmosphere eclectic and interesting.

The menu includes hand-crafted eats like Korean Brussels sprouts and braised beef alongside their 16 hand-crafted beers on tap.
Stumbled upon this amazing place on a Funday Sunday adventure. Three Blondes Brewing is off the highway on Phoenix Street and connected to a recreational sports shop. Warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere for all ages, this place is a MUST TRY!!!! We were seated right away and told about specials. Our server was Sarah, she was friendly and attentive. Our food was spectacular! Lots of unique menu selections- it was hard to narrow down my choice! Salads, tots, handhelds, unique pizzas and entrees…. The chicken strips were amazing and so tender, one of the best tenders I’ve tried. French fries were crisp and fried to PERFECTION. SO. MANY. BBQ. SAUCE. CHOICES. !!!!!!!! 🤤 There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian selections. The shareable Mediterranean brussel sprouts were so delicious and unique- will definitely be ordering again. So many things I want to try next time I visit. Been told the menu rotates for seasonal foods and specials. Looking forward to new menu choices!!! The space is clean and open. Outside seating is also available with igloo(s), chairs, and tables. Clean restrooms. Family friendly. There are lots of vegetarian and vegan choices- OMG if you are vegetarian please try this place you will have to go back to try more yummy food. There is a large variety of beers and ciders on tap and also available to go.

Solid choice in the area for food and drink. Was looking for a place for the kids to run around a bit while we had a few local beers. Turns out, it's more of a restaurant that also brews its own beer than a brewery with some food options. We were sat down right away and they were looking to take our meal order fast. All good, just not the vibe we wanted on this visit. If you are looking for a place to grab lunch or dinner, go for it. If it's more of a sit and chill visit, probably not the right spot. Patio looked cool, the inside was nice, with a mini arcade upstairs. Beer selection was okay. The blonde was very good. There were some more themed brews like jalapeno and dill infused. Service was good and very friendly. Parking was easy.

We stopped in for the first time on a Sunday in November. They had football on, but it was a quiet, calm environment. We ordered a flight of beers, and enjoyed them all, especially the Apple-Solutely Sour and S’more Me Another One! For food, we ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the waitress brought a delicious queso sauce to drizzle on it. We also got the Cublondo, and it was also great. The service was great and the hostess and server were so friendly and welcoming! We will be back.

My family and I stopped here on our way up to Ludington. We were excited to try someplace new and we love stopping at breweries to enjoy their laid-back vibe. While the patio and dining area are laid-back and enjoyable, the fact that the patio is NOT dog friendly did not sit well with us. We still enjoyed our beers and dinner but we had to rush since our pup was in the car (and I felt bad). We would have gladly stayed and enjoyed ourselves more, but couldn't keep him waiting. Upon further digging I found a FAQ section of their website that states they cannot have dogs on the patio due to code (I will now call before we stop anywhere next time). As I stated this location is nice, but only if you prefer to go without your pup. I have given them four stars due to being out of our first choice (Rubia) of beer, then the second choice (Trees and Seas) was not to our taste. Everyone enjoyed their food- with my 9yo being the exception of not liking the cheese sauce. Not sure if we will be back, but feel free to give it a try!

Some pretty good food! Beer was hit or Miss for me, but I love their shandy and jalapeño lager. Prices were pretty dang expensive imo. Would come back to try more seasonal beers! Just wasn’t a big fan of the offerings they had end of summer is all.

We thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, pomegranate BBQ buffalo wings and flight of beers. The slim shady and blueberry lilac cider were great. We also enjoyed the watermelon sour beer and had a gay ole time at the bar. I will definitely be back to check out their restrooms.

July 11 2025, we visited while we were camping (from Kentucky) and celebrating my sisters 4 year anniversary of beating ovarian cancer - The restaurant was ADORABLE. The food and beer were amazing. Lindsey was our server and she was incredible. Had such a genuinely kind personality and was so friendly. She also got my sister some of the lavender beer to try (and ended up being her favorite) before it was on the menu. My son loved it so much he asked that we come back and eat again before we left town. And … we did :) HIGHLY recommend .

Holy cow! This place is amazing. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We got two flights of 6 beers each and every beer we tried was delicious. The food was so amazing. I ordered a pizza and my husband got tacos. We had a great time here and we will be back many times. (I was too busy enjoying my food and drinks to take photos this time.)

The restaurant offers a variety of affordable menu items such as fried green tomatoes, smoked rainbow trout spread, and quinoa sweet potato patties. It also provides fast service and has a kid's menu available. Customers have praised the exceptional fried chicken and delicious fries with unique seasoning.
Kitchen 527 is downtown South Haven. It’s a cozy space with great food, atmosphere, and music! Our server was Alice, she was friendly. She refilled our drinks as needed and brought out our food exactly as we ordered. The quinoa sweet potato burger was delicious, the fries were seasoned perfectly and crispy. You can’t go wrong with the Philly and fries here either! They have fresh brewed ice tea and a full bar. Kid friendly atmosphere. Nice location near Lake Michigan and other shops.

After looking at South Havens art work located around the town and going on the beach for awhile I got hungry and found this place. Best restaurant out of all the restaurants I’ve eaten at in South Haven. The waitresses working Joi and Noelia were super friendly and nice. Noelia was our waitress and I haven’t had service as good as that in a long time. Drinks came out fast as well as the food so it was hot. She was attentive to our table and was just super sweet. The food we got that was awesome is beer battered cod with homemade tartar sauce and a house salad with ranch dressing, Philly classic steak Sandwich with fries, fried portobellos with ranch dressing for dipping. Everything was excellent and for the quality of food at a fair price. The establishment is cleanly it is smaller than some but if it gets busy I would definently recommend waiting for a table it’ll be worth the wait. They also have a full serving bar with tvs.

Met some friends here for dinner. We aren't in South Haven a lot and had never heard of this place, but our friends chose it. It was really good! Service was a little slow, but to be fair, it was only her third day on the job. I got the Philly and it was really good. They don't give you a ton of fries, but they were good. And I certainly don't need more fries. I was going to get the fried chicken but the waitress said it takes a half hour to prepare. And Neal didn't have a half hour because he's diabetic. Stupid Neal! Just kidding. And plus I got to eat the Philly. Neal the diabetic got a Po' Boy and he liked it a lot. My wife also got that but on a gluten free bun. And she likes here a lot too. Betsy got a burger but I forgot to ask what she thought of that.

Had a phenomenal meal and service here. The chalkboard burger was insane. Blueberries, goat cheese, and a red onion marmalade. Loved it. We also had the rainbow trout spread app and the walleye fish and chips.

Well. I’m not one to leave bad reviews. Like ever. However I feel like I need to help others avoid the experience we had. The fries & service were decent/average but the rest of our food all tasted like it had been pulled from the freezer and then fried in old grease. The highlight of our meal was the gum in the car afterward.

Hit the fish fry and it was more than expected. The breading was well seasoned. The tartar sauce was made with capers, as the waitress invited i try. She was not wrong. Great stop not far from the freeway.

I ordered The Waldorf burger and I can genuinely say, it was probably the best burger I’ve had in my life. I don’t normally order burgers when I go out because I feel like they’re mostly the same everywhere you go. But everything about The Waldorf was exceptional! HIGHLY recommend. Their fries were also delicious. Perfectly seasoned and crispy. We also ordered the fried mushrooms which were pretty good! The service was quick and we were satisfied with that! The overall atmosphere inside is just kind of your average small town bar, but still child friendly. Nothing special, but it would be really cozy in the winter!
