Indian Muslim restaurant
Indian takeaway
Zub Express is a restaurant in Port Louis, Mauritius that offers a delightful fusion of European and Indian cuisine. The restaurant is known for its generous portions without compromising on quality. Situated next to the island, it also provides scenic views. This hidden gem presents the flavors of Indian food with fragrant curries, savory tandoori meals, and delectable Indian bread. The blending of Mauritian and Indian culinary traditions results in a unique dining experience.
Absolutely delicious Indian restaurant! We ordered the Dhall Makhani, Vegetable Curry, and Malai Kofta to share. Everything was flavorful, especially the Vegetable Curry—it was so good we ordered a second portion! The garlic naan was exceptional! Super friendly staff, great value, lots of options (including for vegetarians). Highly recommended! 😀

We have been to the restaurant for dinner. The atmosphere was nice, staff were kind and fast but the food was bland. It felt like the ingredients was not blending together.

Halal food (certified halal) restaurant. It is 2 mins drive from our apartment and close to the flic en flac beach. It is dinner time so we went multiple times for having our dinner here with different meals available to choose including garlic nan, lamb beriani etc.
Ir S — Google review
Everything was superb. The welcoming of customers. The food fresh and tasty. The only thing that, I had to order a second dessert. The first one was ras malai the portion and the price did not match if you understand what I mean. Suddenly my thirst for dessert was not quenched so I requested my husband for a cheese cake. He said OK, he could buy the restaurant if I requested him. The cheese cake I took was with blue berries. Berries were there but not the cheese. Instead it was whipped cream. Loads of tourist comes and goes so be kind to deliver what is written there on the menu. If you don't have it don't replace. Because we understand its life and it happens. Be honest because there is a difference between whipped cream and cheese.

We went to Zub Express because it was recommended by our Airbnb host and had solid Google reviews. The restaurant spans three floors and has a quick customer turnover, but the service left a lot to be desired. It took about 25 minutes after being seated before anyone came to take our order, as the waiters were constantly rushing food deliveries from the ground floor via a small elevator system—and mostly ignored us in the process. Once we finally ordered, the food arrived in five minutes, which made it clear that nothing was cooked fresh but rather reheated upon request. During our meal, a man who seemed to be the owner was going around cleaning tables with a handheld crumb vacuum—probably because vacuuming the fake green grass flooring on the third floor was too difficult. Unfortunately, my lobster was burned and overcooked, completely ruining the meal. Considering the quality and service, the restaurant felt overpriced, and you can definitely find better food and friendlier service in Flic en Flac

I went for dinner on my mom’s birthday. First when I came, they said that everyone should be present so as I can have a table to sit. It was a birthday surprise and my parents didn’t know I was here, It was irritated as I never experienced this in any restaurant before. I waited outside patiently. Then after around 8min, they say its okay come inside. Our table was already reserved, soon my parents arrived after 7mins. We ordered starters and our main courses expecting that the starts will come first. Then our drinks, which was the zub express cocktail not even worth its price for the taste and amount. We had to order more drinks later on. When the food came, they brought the starters together with our main course which I didn’t appreciate. The table was small so we had to adjust. And the food overall is 5/10. Not even worth its price. 4 years back when I tasted zub express, I was in love with the taste of their butter chicken but when I had it again yesterday it was not even close to what I had. I only came by again to experience the taste again which was not worth it. Even naan was not even tasty, I lost appetite not even finishing it. But the staff was nice overall. Specially the lady who works on the first floor, she was nice to us. But in short, i would never come again and spend money on a food which is not worth it at all. I hope you improve your service like before.

Restaurant
Domaine Anna, established in 2002, has quickly become a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts exploring Mauritius. The restaurant focuses on traditional Chinese flavors and dishes with a unique twist, thanks to the innovative self-taught chef Hang Leaug Pah hang. Nestled near the pristine Flic en Flac beach amidst sugarcane fields, lakes, and wooden bridges, Domaine Anna offers both indoor and outdoor seating in a picturesque setting.
I organized a surprise birthday party for my mum there. I must say, the organization was perfect! The Team nailed it! We had a beautiful table, a kiosk, a beautiful view from there. The food was excellent! After which we had a great vibe- dancing time! Everyone enjoyed their night, specially my mum! Wonderful place! Great Team!

We visited Domaine Anna with high hopes, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. While the restaurant boasts a stunning night view and a peaceful atmosphere, the service and food quality left much to be desired. Upon being seated, we were immediately approached by the waitress who rushed us to order before we could even browse the menu. The menu itself lacked variety, and when we asked for alternatives, we were simply told they weren’t available — which was quite disappointing. The service felt stretched, with the same staff member managing several tables, causing delays in our order. As a result, some of the food arrived cold. Although the presentation was attractive, the taste and portion sizes did not justify the high prices. In summary, Domaine Anna is worth a one-time visit for the ambiance, but the dining experience itself fell short. Improvements in menu options and customer service would make a significant difference.

I ordered the catch of the day, but unfortunately the fish was only half-cooked — one side was completely raw. When I pointed it out to the staff, there was no apology or any effort to fix it. To make matters worse, I ended up with food poisoning later that evening, including stomach cramps and all the unpleasant symptoms. Overall, the service was poor — we had to wait a long time to place our order and again just to ask for the bill. Very disappointing experience.
Thuvarakan T — Google review
Really unique place. The steak was literally amazing and cooked to perfection. The service was really nice also. I highly suggest that you make a reservation beforehand to avoid misunderstandings and delays.

We went for a seafood platter for 2. Including : lobster, prawns, shrimps, grilled fish, curry coconut sauce squids, rice, fries, vegetables and salad. On the menu, platter stars at 2250rs, but the waiter warned us it’ll be more, depending on the weight of the seafood (like every seafood restaurant) but he’s not able to tell us if at the end it’ll be 4000, 6000, 10 000. You’ll now only when he bring the bill. (Not even sure this is legal) We ended with a 7000rs (133€) bill. Did I get scam ? Maybe. First time I play seafood roulette but also last time here … hopefully it was good.

Domaine Anna is situated in the west of our island. It can accommodate more than 100 guest at once. Very huge place for birthday celebration and wedding events. I am so happy that they reserved the best seating near the lake. It was a get together with my girls. We really enjoy our 3 dinner course. So flavourful mood and dishes. I highly recommend to go for dinner with dashing clothes and makeup The price is quite affordable for a good set up and tasty food.we had Mauritian meal : fried noodle and Fried rice accompanied with some sautéed lamb. Cocktails were really good! The dessert was marvelous.we couldn't resist the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. We had taken some picnics along the lake, the garden and park. The place is really beautiful and the lightings are well organised. Will come back soon ✅🙏📍❤️ Highly appreciate the generosity of the staff. So helpful and kind. Highly professional and quick service. I highly recommend this place for special occasion. Food: 10/10 Service :10/10 Price :10/10

A very very good place. The place is beautiful 😍 The atmosphere and ambience. A very intimate, romantic or family friendly atmosphere created by the lake, dimmed lights, and private tables on the lake. The restaurant is massive. A lot of effort has been put into this place. Lobster was good. Sauces and dips were great. Starters were good. Lamb steak was a bit dry and the food presentation could be improved to take this restaurant up to the next level. I would recommend this place. A very very good value for money and a superb restaurant.

Pakbo Restaurant is a popular spot in Mauritius, located in Flic en Flac. It's known for its great atmosphere and service, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends, family, or as a couple. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options for every taste, and the quality of the food matches the price.
Amazing dinner tonight at Pakbo. The menu is divided into different types of food and 5 of us ate from different sections. All the meals were amazing, generous portions and great ingredients. Service was really great and we were lucky to get the last big table. Loved the decor and the atmosphere too. Compared to London we thought it was incredible value. The traditional Mauritian prawns with tomato sauce and the half cooked tuna were especially good. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

During our stay in Flic en Flac we’ve been here 3 times for a dinner. That’s how much we liked it :) We tried couple of other places in the town, but this one was our favourite. The place is clean, the staff is nice and the food is so delicious. We tried many dishes and all of them were so good - kari, seafood soup, tuna tartar, tuna steak, coconut and saffron sauces… Love the place!

At Pakbo Restaurant, we had a truly wonderful experience. The food was excellent beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, and every dish had its own distinct flavor. You could really taste that the chefs care about quality and freshness of the ingredients. The staff were very kind, helpful, and always smiling we felt welcome from the very first moment. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, cozy, and at the same time modern an ideal place for lunch or dinner with friends or family. We’ll definitely be coming back ☺️everything was perfectly prepared and left a very positive impression. I can only recommend this place! 🍽️🌿✨

We had a fantastic dinner here! The crispy shrimps were golden and crunchy, the samosas were full of flavor, and the grilled calamari was tender and perfectly cooked. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. We also loved the homemade iced tea and the virgin mojito, both were super refreshing and full of flavor. The service was friendly, and the cozy, stylish vibe made the whole evening even better. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be back!

The staff were exceptionally warm and engaging, fostering a lively and inviting atmosphere. Attending the karaoke night alongside dining added a unique and enjoyable dimension to the experience. The dishes were exquisitely presented and satisfyingly hearty. It was a memorable evening that combined great food with vibrant entertainment. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning.

Really nice place. We went on two occasions, both were great. Gets a little busy at night. We got the chicken curry & butter chicken. Both were really nice. Staff are also really friendly.

Great place near the beach with very attentive staff that will go extra mile to give you good grub. Samosa, Mauritian stir fry noodles and the Tamarind drink was our absolute favourite. They were a little understaffed so the service slow but I won’t hold that against them.

Nestled in the charming coastal village of Flic en Flac, Rib & Reef is a culinary gem that draws diners with its enticing offerings and warm atmosphere. Known for its exquisite crab soup, bursting with flavor, and a delightful seafood salad featuring fresh mangoes, this restaurant promises an unforgettable dining experience. Guests rave about the perfectly cooked steaks and grilled lamb, complemented by homemade sauces that elevate each dish.
Probably the best restaurant in Flic en Flac. We were here two evenings in a row, and the food was excellent. Both the steak and the fisherman's plate for two people. You could choose between fries or rice. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The two cats, Paul & Virginie, are also very sweet and inseparable. Even my wife, who doesn't like cats, couldn't resist giving them some of the mussels. Sooooooo sweet. Our best evenings in Flic en Flac =)

2025-Visited again and enjoyed a delicious meal again. Great European and Mauritian food, definitely higher calibre of cuisine and more reasonably priced than nearby 5 star hotels, which we also visited today. Highly recommended. 2023-Rib and reef hugely exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed a delicious prawn gratinee followed by a fresh grilled fish and garlic prawns, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, served with seasoned rice and a tasting assortment of local vegetables. The chef obviously takes pride in his menu and even the waiter was not your average local water. There were lots of dishes to choose from, European and Mauritian. For desert, our choice, a delicious chocolate lava cake had a fondant interior and crisp exterior and was served with ice cream. Our hosts were attentive, prompt warm and friendly and you can choose to sit inside or outside. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and very highly recommended.

The place was nice. Comfortable setting. The service was good and friendly. The food was good and the portion relatively okay. I said okay comparing to other places we have been on the island. Prices are fair. You can have a three course meal without ruining yourself. The only negative point was other guests smoking. Actually we were sitting outside, so I guess the policy allows for those sitting outside to smoke. I think it's general rule here on the island. So I'd advise to sit inside to avoid inconsiderate guests who don't understand that you don't wanna be smoking with them and you sitting outside means you just wanna enjoy the fresh air and not their smoke. Other than that as I said, good place by itself. Edited. I came back here again months later, the service was perfect. The food perfect, the starters, the main course, the desert and the drinks...just perfect. Their beef roulade as starters just great, their prime beef steak perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy though I ordered it well done. It wasn't dry, it was really great. I enjoyed it and had to update my review. I definitely recommend the place.

Nice place for dinner. The food was just great. We had the chicken skewers and garden salad as starters and both were really tasty. The lamb chops with mash and veggies was amazing. Wish the serving was bigger 😅. For dessert, we took the crème brulée which was just delicious. The service was good and prices are fair. I would definitely recommend

Great place for seafood. The prawns gratin is a must try. Very nice setting. The owners and waiters are all very kind. The menu is simple and offers a large variety of food. I had one of the best Babonne fillets ever there! desert was also excellent. There may be just a bit of waiting time if the place is full.

Mandarin restaurant
Ah Youn is a popular Chinese-Mauritian restaurant with two locations in Mauritius. The restaurant is known for its delicious and affordable food, attracting both locals and tourists. Despite being busy, the service is friendly and efficient. The menu offers flavorful dishes such as fried noodles, Red Mauritian style fish curry, and a pleasing aubergine dish for vegetarians. The ambiance is relaxed with a mix of ancient Egyptian and Chinese decor, providing a cool breeze from the nearby sea.
During 2 weeks we've visited this place 6 times. During lunch time and for a dinner. Once for take away. The food is really fantastic, sizzling beef, sweet and sour beef, beef in red mauritian sauce... noodles, fried rice... all of those were amazing. The desserts were good as well. Prices are really affordable considering the size of the meals. Noodles seems to be for 2, not for 1 😅 the service is really good, they are nice and helpful if you need a hand to choose from the menu. You should also consider that many locals come there, the restaurant is not only for turists which should be treated as an asset.
Izabela K — Google review
My family recently dined at Ah Youn and I felt compelled to share my positive experience. The food was enjoyable, with our selections being both flavourful and generously portioned. Despite the restaurant being busy on a Saturday evening at 7 PM, the service was prompt and amicable. Given its location in a tourist area, the prices were quite reasonable and offered good value for money. While the decor may seem somewhat dated, the overall quality of the service, food, and affordability more than compensate for it.
Anil T — Google review
I recently went to this restaurant and the experience was pretty underwhelming. The food was average and came in a really small bowl, especially considering how expensive it was. The service wasn’t great either. The staff weren’t rude, but they didn’t seem very interested or attentive. The wait time was also way too long, both to get seated and to get our food. The atmosphere was okay, clean and quiet, but nothing that stood out. Overall, it felt like I paid too much for a meal that was just so-so in every way.

The restaurant is chinese and served some yummy noodles. I had seen locals have noodles and was craving some found Ah Youn. The servers were especially nice and friendly. Simple place great food.

This is a fav of mine in Flic en Flac. The food is very enjoyable as is the ambiance. The service is next to none. I have had the opportunity to sample quite a few dishes! Well done!
Pravesh D — Google review
The service itself? Honestly, pretty good. The non-Mauritian staff are kind, patient and actually understanding. Just don’t rush them and don’t be rude. They’re doing their best while the kitchen’s doing whatever that was supposed to be. Now, the fried chicken. Don’t. Ever. Order. It. They’ve somehow managed to make dark meat dry. That’s talent. The coating? Bad. The deboning? Wrong. The idea was there — real dark meat, sliced, not those sad little strips — but the taste? Nonexistent. Zero. The food used to be better before 2019. Something clearly changed. Maybe the recipes, maybe the management, maybe the universe decided we’d had it too good. The plates... once upon a time, we had proper china. Actual plates. Now it’s these slidy plastic things that move around like they’re alive. The plate slides on the table, the food slides on the plate, and you’re left playing a game of chase-the-bite. The atmosphere? Meh. Depends entirely on who you go with and how your day’s been. Nothing inspiring, nothing offensive either. All in all, average. The food quality has gone downhill, replaced by cheaper stuff and it shows. Even the water’s downgraded. Somehow they’ve managed to sell the cheapest brand at the same price as before. Impressive, really.

Waiter wos asking the minute we sat down what we would like to order, when we said we need some minutes he left rolling his eyes. We ordered the grilled fish which was not crisp on the outside, chips were cold. After telling that the chips were reheated. The extra ordered vegetables tasted like barely seasoned. Not a overall worth experiance.
Felix Z — Google review
We went with friends post covid for a sunday lunch. Amazed to see it was rather empty for end of month. We ordered crispy calamari and crispy chicken, the portion was weak for the price, calamari was very good but the Chicken was way too greasy!!! The crushed green chilli sauce was heavily watered down! Not something people like! Main courses were just OK, the portions were a bit better but tooo salty and starchy, not impressed with the food. However, the sweet and sour chicken was pretty nice. We ordered "homemade ice tea" only to find out, its Lipton diluted with water! FAIL!!! Overall = 5/10 Service = 6/10 Food = 4/10 Hygiene = 4/10 (no sanitizer, dirty tables)
