San Luis Potosi

San Luis Potosí is a city in central Mexico. It was a major gold and silver mining hub on the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, a trade route during the mid-16th to the 19th centuries. It’s known for colonial buildings, like the imposing, baroque-era Templo de San Francisco, which dominates the lush Jardín de San Francisco. Nearby, the 18th-century Templo del Carmen features an ornately carved facade.

Art Museums
Museo Federico Silva is a must-visit museum showcasing the work of Federico Silva, a beloved Mexican sculptor. Housed in a 17th-century building that was once a hospital and later a school, the museum seamlessly integrates its neoclassical finish with Silva's haunting monolithic sculptures. The museum offers an excellent opportunity to appreciate the artistry of this renowned artist.
Great exposition of the Federico Silva's sculptures. The author is one of the best Mexican contemporary artists. I like all there, the modern style sculptures, how they are presented in the Museum (perfect lightning, colours environment, descriptions and visualization). The little patio inside the building is a gem of the architecture there. And particularly I loved the Silva's interpretation of Canto I, a journey into Dante's inferno. Wonderful!

I am a big fan of contemporary sculpture - this did not disappoint. Federico Silva's larger than life interpretation of Mexican traditions are fantastic. I particularly loved the journey into Dante's inferno. Wonderful!

A collection of large-scale works by the famous sculptor. Most of them depict abstract humans extracted from large blocks of stone and made out of geometrical shapes, mainly cubes or rectangles. Rarely will you see a curved line.

Museo Regional Potosino, located on Plaza de Aranzazu, offers a captivating journey through the history of San Luis Potosi state. Housed in a Franciscan monastery dating back to 1568, this museum not only features intriguing exhibitions but also includes the stunning Aranzazu chapel on its second floor. The baroque architecture and ornate decorations of the chapel showcase a unique vision in the Americas.

(Translated by Google) It's a good cultural and historical site about San Luis Potosí, very informative. It's a bit deteriorated by time. It's smaller than it looks, the police are somewhat rude, and there's a man who constantly follows you and scolds you even if you don't do anything. Other than that, it's a good experience to visit. I hope they restore it soon. (Translated by Google) It is located in what was once a Franciscan convent, construction of which began in 1590. The Reform Laws made it possible for this building to house workshops and schools of arts and crafts, as well as a Masonic lodge. In 1952, the museum was established under the direction of the INAH (National Institute of Art and History). In its four rooms, you can learn an overview of Mesoamerican cultures, as well as the history of the people of Potosí, from the evangelization of the Guachichil Indians, the daily life and faith of the settlers during the viceregal era, to the struggle for independence and the agrarian revolution. In some museums, I have found pieces without descriptive cards; here, however, the cards indicate the place where they were found, the material they were made from, the culture, the historical period, their symbolism, etc. Very good. What needs to be improved is the typography; it is very small. Something interesting I found in the museum is that in 1925, in the Grand Masonic Lodge of El Potosí, the Chee Kung Tong Workshop No. 4 was established, made up of Chinese migrants from different cities in Mexico, with Masonic backgrounds dating back to 1905 in Monterrey, the State of Mexico, and Torreón.

(Translated by Google) The museum is very interesting; it has incredible potential, but it hasn't been fully utilized. The font on the information signs is very small, only available in Spanish (perhaps a QR code with a translation?), and the space is very dark, making it difficult to read and tiring for the eyes. The bathrooms are very clean, and everyone is very friendly. The place, in addition to what the museum contains, is historic and beautiful! I would have liked a little more information about it.

Nestled in the heart of San Luis Potosi, Wine Park is a delightful fusion of fine dining and vibrant nightlife. This charming restaurant offers an impressive selection of international cuisine and wines, all set against the stunning backdrop of Parque Tangamanga. Five-Star Dining at Wine Park – A Hidden Gem in a Shopping Center! Wine Park is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking for top-tier steaks, incredible drinks, and exceptional service. Tucked away in a shopping center, this place is a true hidden gem that delivers a five-star experience from start to finish. The Cowboy Steak is the undeniable star of the menu—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with bold flavors. If you’re a steak lover, this one is a must! The Caesar Salad is also a standout, with fresh, crisp romaine, just the right amount of dressing, and that perfect Parmesan bite. For drinks, Wine Park truly shines. The Mezcal cocktails are expertly crafted, offering a smooth yet smoky profile that pairs beautifully with the meal. The Fresca drinks are equally refreshing, providing a light and crisp balance to the rich flavors of the food. To top it all off, the service is impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and always ensuring you have the best experience. Whether you’re here for a special occasion or just a fantastic meal, Wine Park delivers on all fronts. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!

Beautiful place not so great food.
Lorena M — Google review
Beautiful place, but food and experience was very disappointing. Our waiter was very friendly, but forgot to bring our appetizer. The ribeye I ordered looked and smelled like pork… it was very light color, the fat was squishy and it just overall seemed like it was cooked in a way too cold pan. The asparagus that came with it was cold and without a single seasoning. The mojito had a ton of sugar, which unfortunately made it almost undrinkable. They refunded the ribeye, but there’s unfortunately no way I could give more than 1 star.

Beautiful restaurant. It has a view of the park (Tangamanga). My family and I were a little disappointed with the dishes we ordered, though, we were expecting more. NAWÁ is a sophisticated and stylish establishment with knowledgeable, attentive, and professional service. The cuisine exudes confidence and creativity, with meticulously arranged plates that demonstrate thoughtfulness. The wine pairings are impeccable, while the house cocktails offer a delightful twist on familiar favorites. This culinary gem in San Luis impresses with its exquisite dishes made from exceptional ingredients. The staff's attentiveness extends to checking for allergies and providing accurate advice.
The atmosphere is upscale chic. The service is knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. The food is confident and creative. The plating is neat and thoughtful. The wine pairings work well. The house cocktails are fun and familiar with twists. If this restaurant were in Europe, it would be a candidate for a Michelin star. After two visits, it's my favorite restaurant in San Luis Potosi.

The food quality is OK, but the prices are way too high for the amount of food you are served, I had an entree and main dish, and still was hungry. The place is also not kid friendly, they only have one tall chair.

I had an amazing experience at Nawa a few days ago. Every single member of the staff is professional and attentive, especially Juan Luis, the sommelier. He made some excellent recommendations and gave precise explanations for the various dishes and pairings. One particular distinction at Nawa is their use of fresh an local ingredients as well as traditional methods to produce regional dishes. Make sure you order the hearts of palm appetizer. They will prepare fresh roasted hearts of palm table-side and will never eat them from a can or jar again. Nawa's wine list is very extensive and carefully curated, but I highly recommend trying wines from San Luis Potosí they are up-and-coming and have quickly made a name for themselves. To finish off, order any of the desserts they have to offer. I assure you that you will not go wrong. You must however, accompany your dessert with a Nawa-style carajillo, a delectable, spiced and smokey version of the classic coffee cocktail. I was so impressed by Nawa that I am certain I will visit every time I find myself in San Luis Potosí.

TrasHumante is a trendy eatery and outdoor seating area that offers modern Mexican cuisine along with pizza, ribs, and an extensive wine selection. The majority of the dishes are delectable, particularly the ceviche and other menu items that incorporate a refreshing fruit twist. The cocktails also feature fruity flavors, which adds to the tropical experience. The standout dish is the picana, boasting exceptional meat quality that surpasses recent dining experiences. Prices are reasonable overall.
Most of the food we had was delicious. The ceviche and some other dishes had a cool fruit twist going on. The cocktails had fruit as well. I was loving the tropical tastes with real fruit. The picana we had was perfect, best meat I’ve had in a while. Prices were very reasonable. Only notes was the service was just ok, and the lights above the tables are too bright for the environment. I’d go back for some more drinks, ceviche, and picana.

Cielo Tinto is a refined Mexican restaurant located in a converted hacienda, offering an upscale dining experience with a romantic atmosphere. The restaurant retains much of the original glamour of the hacienda, featuring chandeliers, tile floors, and an open-air square where guests can dine under the stars. The pork shank was truly the highlight of the night, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. It was the best pork shank i ever had in my life. In addition to the unforgettable pork shank, the Aztec soup was a delightful surprise, further showcasing the depth of the chef's culinary mastery. El México de Frida is a vibrant and colorful restaurant located in San Luis Potosí, dedicated to the iconic artist Frida Kahlo. This three-story venue is adorned with stunning murals that celebrate her life and work, creating an immersive atmosphere for diners. The menu features a delightful array of traditional Mexican dishes, including innovative vegan and vegetarian options that cater to all tastes. Guests can enjoy authentic flavors while surrounded by a warm ambiance filled with cultural charm.
Stopping by occasionally when I'm in Mexico, it will be 6 years now. The place, unlike many others, keep their signature dishes consistent. Usually over time quality degrades with other restaurants, but here it is same as first day. My favorite dish is Pechuga Zorro, but, you cannot make a mistake with any other dish.

I decided to visit this restaurant as it is the #1 rated restaurant in San Luis Potosí. The decor is incredible, but the food left much to be desired. I ordered a seafood tostada as a starter which was incredible. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast that everyone was ranting and raving about online as my main course. The other items on the menu sounded delicious, but I think that my main order missed the mark. Based solely on the tostada, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance with a few other menu items.
