The Esperance Museum, situated on Windich Street, offers a captivating journey through the history of Esperance and its surroundings. The museum boasts an impressive array of historical artifacts, including vintage machinery, maritime exhibits, old railway cars, and even a space station. Visitors can delve into the past through photographs, documents, and early settlement equipment on display. Additionally, the museum features a railroad exhibition that highlights the impact of railways on Esperance's development.
Great experience. So much Maritime history on display but what we loved the most was the Kimberley 3D visual film that's on at the moment. It is brilliant. Its a must visit and especially if you hadn't the opportunity to physically visit the Kimberley region when touring WA. I hope the film can make its way around Australia, because it should, and needs to be experienced!

Huge range if historic artefacts with Skylab wreckage as a bonus. Worth the visit. Allow at least an hour for this stop.
Michelle R — Google review
Highly recommend. One of the best museums I have visited outside a state capital. Wide variety of subject matter, great collections, laid back presentation and great staff. Be careful of the winter closure. Allow 2+ hours.

Plenty to see. Skylab bits. Lots of old stuff that you'd remember if you're born 1950/60.

Fabulous collection of historical station, jetty and rail life.Fantastic matching our 4wd expedition.

If you are a space geek and you are in town. This is a must visit. They have the NASA Skylab pieces that re-entered in 1979.

What a great museum we throughly enjoyed the memorabilia and the history of the museum and Esperance township It’s fantastic to see so many volunteers working in the facility and taking so much pride on the standard of the displays available for the general public. The machinery section was a winner with the guys it was terrific trying to identify the equipment it bought back some many memories The old steam engine and carriages were in perfect condition and lovely to see The old ships were sensational including the small models scattered all around The Sky Lab display had us all talking for ages and discussing how lucky the area was not to suffer any injury from the falling debris Beautifully presented museum so clean and beautifully laid out Must be getting old as I could easily identify most of the can goods and kitchen products the memories just kept flowing back Must also comment on the opening of the time capsule what a surprise that was full of interesting history it was intriguing but a very disappointing decision not to build an abattoir in an area that really needed one Loved the wetlands behind the museum good idea and very pretty and well maintained Well done staff and those wonderful volunteers great job guys love the place

If you're yearning for a true escape into nature, Woody Island Eco Tours is your ticket to adventure. Just 15 kilometers from the coast of Esperance, this A-class Nature Reserve offers an idyllic setting surrounded by pristine bushland and sparkling ocean. Whether you’re looking to unwind or engage in activities like bushwalking, snorkeling, and fishing, Woody Island has it all.
What a fantastic experience. Excellent staff, well maintained boat, stunning scenery to explore and enjoy. We hired a kayak and mask/snorkel, which made our time on the island extra fun. The food was simple but delicious and served hot. Highly recommend!!!
Kath R — Google review
Outstanding! What a beautiful spot of the world. The staff (both on the boat and on the island) were exceptionally helpful, polite, and professional. Highly recommend this company!
Lee D — Google review
One of the most unique island locations off the WA coast. Has a lot to offer. Flora and Fauna all around. Great walks through Coastal Moort thickets and Sheaoks. Great snorkeling under the jetty with many different species present in crystal clear waters. Quite spectacular. You can rough it in your own tent or live it up in one of theirs. Just don't take your good shoes. Black dust everywhere.
Sean S — Google review
Fabulous day trip to Woody Island. Well worth it - lots of info from Graham the guide and easy bush walk around the island. Good swimming & snorkelling from the pontoon. Cafe was good too. Would love to stay in the tents over there sometime.
Sue R — Google review
This was a great day we enjoyed the boat trip and Indi gave us a talk on the island went on the tour with Indi she was fantastic and explained everything. A fantastic way to spend a day.
Shane H — Google review
What a fantastic half day we had on the Woody Island Eco Tour The tour commenced at 9am so our skipper the very friendly Tim immediately headed out to some of the small surrounding islands near Woody Island where we saw some less than energetic seals basking in the sun lying on the rocks and occasionally lifting there heads up to acknowledge these annoying intruders. What a life these guys have sleeping swimming eating and sleeping again they are great but very lazy All types of birds were seen flying around the islands and over us just rounding up food. Then we pulled up at the jetty at Woody Island and up to the cafe for morning tea and instructions before the tour etc started Then the walking tour took place lead by the most energetic and passionate Indy We saw all types of flora and fauna and learnt so much about this beautiful island and its inhabitants and its surrounds. The tour was very interesting and informative well done Indy and Tim you guys a just great We then headed back to the cafe and had a well earned lunch and indulged in a long chat about the island the tour and the z islands history Well done to the staff for making our day a fun and very enjoyable one Would highly recommend this tour it was great and the staff were delightful

Hiking Trails
Rotary Lookout is a strategically placed viewing platform offering breathtaking 360-degree views of Esperance's coastline. It is located on top of a hill, providing stunning vistas of the sea and the city. The lookout also serves as a starting point for scenic walking trails that lead to beautiful spots like Lovers Beach. Visitors can explore exposed rock slabs, native flowers, and enjoy the awe-inspiring coastal scenery.
Excellent location to have a panoramic view of Esperance, the ocean, and all the surrounding areas. The elevated platform is a great idea for an unobstructed viewing experience. The information board has details on walks you can take. Ensure you continue along the Great Ocean Drive, the lookout is just a warmup for more scenic views!

This is a fantastic overlook of Esperance and the turquoise beaches stretching both up and down the coast. It’s very close to the center of town as well as the beginning of the awesome Great Ocean Road. Watch for it on the left as you are heading west from town. There is parking, a short path, and a few steps to take you to the breathtaking scenery.
Marsha R — Google review
"Beautiful viewpoint with stunning scenery and a wide panorama that lets you see so much of the surrounding area. Definitely worth the stop for the views alone! However, it’s not really suitable for people in wheelchairs as the access is limited. Still, a lovely spot to take in nature and enjoy the moment

Esperance Museum Village is a charming collection of small historical buildings located in the heart of town. These buildings have been relocated from various sites around Esperance and now house unique shops selling a variety of goods. The village comes alive on Sundays with bustling markets. One highlight is the Museum Village Cafe, which offers delicious breakfast options and lunch specials like Seafood Plate with Salad & Chips and Seafood Fettuccini in Garlic Sauce.
Nicely maintained original buildings which now have modern shops and businesses. A clever and novel way to preserve heritage
G M — Google review
„Historic“ village is just arts and beauty shops no one needs.
Frederik Α — Google review
Situated between The Esplanade and Dempster Street, the village is a delightful place to visit. While the exterior of the buildings are authentic and each being sign-posted and dated, the interiors have been modified to function as gift shops and a cafe. My personal favourite is ESP which stocks a gorgeous array of shoes, as well as bags and cards and gifts. The village is also host to a market fortnightly on a Sunday. Plenty of parking available both on and off road.
Krissy H — Google review
Enjoyed a lovely lunch @ the French Cafe. Walked around the museum village that has lovely interesting shops. Being a tourist the traders were all very friendly and all had unique items in their stores. Recommend a visit to this lovely place. Whilst speaking to the owner of ESP, she told us about the markets they have on Sunday morning. Definitely be going to them before we head off to Hopetoun another little gem on the south coast of WA.

The Pier Hotel is a lively beachfront destination in Esperance, offering three bars and a bistro featuring a cozy fireplace and wood-fired pizza oven. Known for its 'Thirsty Thursday' gatherings, the hotel provides after-work drinks, dinner options, pool games, and entertaining karaoke nights. Additionally, Taylor St Quarters hosts live music events that appeal to music enthusiasts. The hotel's operating hours are accommodating for those seeking late-night drinks or a substantial pub meal.
Had an amazing meal My pork ribs and onion rings were to die for ! Parmys were delicious and so were the oysters. 🦪 Good that they had some outdoor music, lovely view across the water. They got the fish and chips order wrong and gave us a fish burger, but we’re happy to change it out - so very happy with the outcome. Good work guys, loved it! 😊

Sunday night was very quite. It was week two of Sept. The place is a fine big bar and staff are quick to serve. Had pizza and chips. They were ok. Nothing to rate as excellent. Pizza special was 22aud and chips were 12aud. Had a beer 12aud. Overall, it was ok. Ive had better.

My girlfriend and I decided to have dinner at the Pier Hotel, staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was also reasonably quick too. I had the chicken Gamberi, the chicken was moist and very tasty and the prawns were delicious, as was the rest of the meal. We would definitely eat here again. They have a large selection of food including wood fired pizzas which also looked very nice. Also the bar has a good selection of tap beers and a friendly atmosphere.
Michael P — Google review
Staff and service polite and helpful, service was quick and food was great! We got the Texas Share Meat Platter and was delicious, the pork was a little dry but still tasty. Dog friendly beer garden around the back and large inside space with a large variety on tap and behind the bar.

Popped in for dinner after a long day of travelling and because it was open late. The greeting we got was welcoming and the service, along with the food was sooo good, for a pub as such, the food was tasty … thanks guys

We ordered garlic prawns ,Pizza and Baileys Brûlée.All of them had excellent taste .restaurant was busy with high waiting time . I wish they had halal meat so were more options to order .
Naila K — Google review
Great food and service, busy restaurant. Pork Scallopini and Chicken Alfredo pasta
Tony H — Google review
We went to the Pier Hotel for dinner on a Monday night in November. The service was fast, and attentive. My dinner companion ordered the steak sandwich which he reported was “okay, but small”. I ordered the seafood risotto - this was not “okay”. The rice was undercooked, the squid was very overcooked, I found 3 x fish scales in the rice, and that was in the small portion of the dish that I ate. The creamy sauce was overwhelmed by lemon, which was an unpleasant taste and spoilt the flavour completely. The only nice comment I have is that the prawns were abundant and cooked perfectly.

It's a go-to place for locals and tourists seeking quick bites while enjoying the seaside scenery. The menu includes fabulous grilled paninis such as roast beetroot, balmy salami, mortadella, Caprese, and roast sweet potato and capsicum.
The best juices and smoothies of Esperance! 🩷 Mario the owner, and the staff are always genuinely friendly and give an excellent service. They have a good variety of mixes of flavor, even some that would help you with a flu! Aditionally they also have coffee and food that I haven’t tried yet but will for sure. Benches and tables to sit and a great view from the esplanade. Great prices and amazing quality, highly recommended!

The bloke who owns and runs this juice bar is a bloody legend. Really nice guy, I customised the crap out of my order and he effortlessly serviced me to create my ideal juice, done my specific way. Nothing was to hard, annoying or big. The huice was fresh and delicious, we didn't eat this time around we only got a juice, but I will definitely get an acai bowl fron here the next time I'm in town.

Out of the Blue Esperance is a popular eatery in Esperance with a friendly and helpful staff. The place offers an awesome selection of food, including delicious Carbonara and spaghetti. The portions are great, and the prices are reasonable. Visitors can see the fresh food being prepared in the open kitchen. The family-owned restaurant takes pride in their work, serving some of the best pizza, pasta, and fish and chips in town.
Incredible food, top-notch service, and a super friendly staff. Every bite was perfect, and the atmosphere was so inviting. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine. Will definitely be coming back! The owner is incredibly welcoming and friendly and made all the customers feel valued.

Family owned business. Ordered fish & chips and twilight margarita both were above average. The fish was crunchy and just yum. Pizza dough was perfect, thin also crunchy. However the tomato sauce was a bit overpowering for me! Probably it’s okay for other! Highly recommended if you’re in Esperance
Ausama G — Google review
Really cool staff, they all appeared happy to be there and that showed in the great service. They also make fresh bubble tea, which was delicious. It's an easy place to get to and plenty of parking. There were a lot of people waiting for orders, which says a lot about the popularity of the place. See you next time!
Peely P — Google review
The pizza I had tonight did not have a very good cover of topping. Had the Out of the Blue Supreme. Saw the post that showed a very good looking Pizza. Looks like someone puts more topping on than the person that made mine. Pizza makers should all be on the same pages, don't skimp.

....What a disappointment. I've worked in hospo and I understand mistakes happen and things don't always work out in customer service, so I'm a very understanding person, but my experience here had me trembling with anger. I should've looked at the LATEST reviews instead of overall reviews (change in management maybe?). I was told my order would take 20-25mins but it ended up waiting an HOUR. I repeatedly checked in to see how my order was going and the front of house service was young and anxious and had no experience how to handle customers appropriately. Instead of keeping me informed saying "Hey, I'm sorry, the fish is taking longer than expected. Can you come back in an hour?" They just chose to ignore me and hope I would continue to sit patiently for over double the amount of time. Ridiculous. After waiting for AGES, the food wasn't even fresh or hot or any good. Wasted my time and money.
PN H — Google review
Had a very nice meal here. Pizza was great, crust, cheese and toppings worked well together. Meat ball pasta was delicious too. Fried chicken wings were not bad. I'd order the pizza and pasta again for sure. 2 cans of coke was $7.90 which was a bit pricey imo.
Michael K — Google review
Enjoyed the food. Massive pasta for $21. Paid extra for chicken but not much through the pasta. The Supreme pizza had plenty of flavour but light on topping for $27. Overall would still go back again.

Cloud Eleven Esperance is a must-visit dining spot in the coastal town of Esperance. With a variety of restaurants offering diverse cuisines like Indian, Chinese, and Asian, food enthusiasts are in for a treat. The area also boasts popular eateries such as Loose Goose Bar & Restaurant and Fish Face Takeaway and Restaurant. Visitors can enjoy fresh lemon juice at Cloud Eleven while exploring the vibrant local arts scene or taking in the picturesque beaches during their visit to Esperance.
Breakfast: The decaffeinated coffee was excellent; I immediately wanted to buy their coffee beans after finishing it. The vegan version of the avocado sourdough was filled with a mysterious and unforgettable flavor. The combination of Japanese pickled radish, pickled vegetables, and the creamy smashed avocado was unexpectedly delightful and wonderful. Lunch: This meticulously crafted dish is amazing—every Japanese fast-food chain in the world should serve this vegan “teriyaki tofu don.” 100 % freshly fried tofu.

Cloud Eleven does some very tasty breakfast and brunch options. My partner very much enjoyed her Miso Scrambled eggs and my Beetroot toast was also very nice. We would recommend Cloud Eleven. ** The cinnamon bun was good, but not very light and quite doughy

Great food and coffee. Japanese twist on everyday breakfast, very special, not something you’ll come across every day. The place is fantastic, feels homey, great for kids and the staff are all lovely. Thanks, we’ll come back again.

High quality breakfast in Esperance. Ordered the deluxe ‘cloud’ bacon and eggs on sourdough bread with a side of halloumi and the kimchi stack on shokupan bread. Char sui was relatively lean and dirty hojicha latte was very smooth. Service was friendly and efficient.

I went for one night stay in Esperance and wanted to try different eateries with my friend in town. Ordered lunch special Banh Mi Burger $23 + chips $4 and a beer, requested to cut burger into half as I want my friend to try as well. The lady taking my order asked if I need an extra plate coz I asked to cut my burger, I was like Wow !!! Very impressed with the service. After checked in to my hotel then I realised there is $1 charges for an extra plate. I honestly no idea they charge for that. I just want to laugh right now. Anyway, I believe kindness and generosity in service industry and I will never visit this kind of place ever again.

This is a bustling Japanese/Australian cafe, upstairs in an old office building. The coffee was tasty, as was the food, although the portions were a little on the small side. It’s a wait to be seated but order at the till kind of place.

Cute cafe upstairs in a complex. Good menu and our burgers were tasty. Food and drinks were.quick to be served. Will recommend.

Ordered the crispy pork belly with fried rice. The pork belly wasn’t crispy but soft and they were very large chunks. The iced black coffee came in a glass with three ice cubes floating in it and tasted very bitter, the pot of tea was very weak even though we asked if we could have a strong pot of tea. The service however was amazing very friendly and helpful.

Bistro Louis is a charming French-style cafe located in the historic Museum Village of Esperance. The bistro, led by co-owner and head chef Roger Poutet, offers traditional brunch favorites such as croque monsieur, freshly filled baguettes, and house-baked pastries.
A little hidden gem this place is. All staff made us feel welcome and at home, impeccable service! Food was unreal, oysters were fresh and creamy served with lemon, hot sauce, mignonette sauce and dill - so good. Scallops were next level. 10/10 vibes, had French music playing 10/10 service 10/10 food Overall a top tier fine dining experience, and a must go if you’re in Esperance. Will definitely be going back!

Absolutely sensational! My parents were visiting from the UK, and it was Mums birthday, so we wanted to go somewhere special. Boy, did Bistro Louis deliver! The food was incredible, and the service was lovely. The place itself was wonderful, and we loved the classic feel.

Very friendly staff that makes you feel at home. Food was fantastic and delicious. Visited on the first night and found the food to be great and immediately made reservations for the following night. Bistro Louis didn’t disappoint and it was another great night!
Jui T — Google review
Excellent food. Great service. Cosy atmosphere which is a covered deck on the side of the house. Easy to book online, which is recommended. We went on a Saturday evening and it was full. Had a great evening. My steak was perfect. Rare, as I'd requested. But it must have been given a few seconds on a white hot grille as there was a very thin, crisp top to it. Delicious. But...a warning. Due to the configuration of the bistro and odd local laws (?) regarding the requirement for toilets, there IS no toilet. You have to use a public toilet about 100m away in the park alongside. Not ideal...
Ian M — Google review
We enjoyed a fantastic meal for our wedding anniversary dinner last week. Everything about the evening was first class. Louanna, ( I hope I have that right?) was delightful, Clementine was wonderfully professional, and Juan ( again, apologies if I’ve got that wrong!) was also superb! What a little treasure to be found here in Esperance.👍
Lee M — Google review
Lovely little spot for dinner but is let down by substandard food and inconsistant service. Entree was a steak tartar; the meat had greyed and was not cured properly so had an offputting flavour. It came with only one piece of bread and was interlaced with chewy sinew. This was reported to staff, but we are unsure if it got reported to the kitchen. The duck and gnochi for mains were nice, as were the french martinis. Our dessert order got lost and we sat unattended for 30 minutes before deciding to leave, minus the dessert order. The prices are set at a premium level but the experience was not up the required standard.
Alex F — Google review
Had lunch here with my family and wow, the food was incredible! Honestly, it was tough to pick because everything on the menu looked so good. Love finding a little French flair in a small town like Esperance. Definitely recommend! Only suggestion would be to add a couple of kid-friendly dishes, since some of the cheeses might be a bit strong for younger taste buds.
