Ships
Step aboard the Brig Amity, a full-size replica of a 19th-century merchant vessel that transports you back to 1826. Built in 1975, this remarkable ship allows visitors to experience life on a convict ship during its historic six-week voyage from Sydney to King George Sound.
A great free attraction (unless you want to explore the lower decks), and in such a wonderful setting too. We paid the nominal $5 (cash only) to explore the below deck area and were happy to contribute to the upkeep of the ship. Definitely worth stopping off, and generally a great place to stop off in Albany.
Kerbray — Google review
It’s great seeing these ships up close, and even though this is a replica it still looks and feels like an ocean going wooden ship. Amazing that people could spend so long on one of these vessels. There’s an easy access ramp up to the top deck (free) and then ladders down to the lower decks (costs. $5)
Paul S — Google review
A little piece of maritime history on the Albany waterfront along with the Great Southern museum. The ship is a replica and well worth the small entrance fee to have a wander around. Mind your head though as you go down below decks as it is tight. Just makes you think how did the sailors and crew cope all those years ago. No more than 30 mins needed to explore.
Shaun L — Google review
Really enjoyed this tour and well worth the $5 to go downstairs. Makes you very grateful for all the facilities we have now! Thank you to all the volunteers too, super helpful and informative 🙌
Kathryn M — Google review
Can walk on the deck without having to pay. It is worth a visit when in the area

Good replica of Amity and having a QR code with recording to explain Albany history is amazing. Gives a good understanding of such old days boats

Brilliant, just amazing how they worked and survived day to day on board with 60 other shipmates 👍

Albany Convict Gaol Museum

The Albany Convict Gaol Museum in Western Australia is located next to the Brig Amity. The museum, operated by volunteers, offers a glimpse into the conditions for prisoners during colonial times. The gaol cells are described as spooky and provide an immersive experience. The complex was built in 1852 for Imperial convicts shipped to WA, with additional structures added between 1872 and 1875.
Amazing historical place, just put a few pictures but will let you discover yourself. It is all so well explained, it is entertaining. Can’t wait to go back for the night ghost tour !!
Alex R — Google review
Big shout out to Gerard for his wealth of knowledge and friendliness. Extremely thorough with our history through photos, paintings, written articles and items from Albany's past. Highly recommended!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Greg M — Google review
History that literally sends chills down your spine! This isn't just a museum; it's an immersive journey into WA's convict past that you can feel in the air. The Albany Convict Gaol is an absolute must-do for history buffs and ghost hunters alike! Walking through the solitary confinement cells and the old gallows area, you can't help but feel a palpable presence. The history here is raw and powerful, and if you're open to it, you might just pick up on a ghost or two. The atmosphere is incredibly thick and haunting. We went for the educational value and left completely captivated by the stories both past and perhaps... present. The staff shared some chilling anecdotes that made the experience even more real. A truly unforgettable visit that connects you to the deep, and sometimes restless, past of Albany's early settlers.
ヅKannie B — Google review
The Albany Convict Gaol Museum gives you a good insight into the tough conditions of the early settlers when they first came to Albany. The building is well preserved and furnished with a lot of furniture from the period with some creepy full size figures to surprise you on your way round the museum and there is plenty to read. The museum is all on one level easy to get around however, wheelchair access may be tricky as some of the doors are thin due to the period they were constructed in. There is some parking outside with a couple of picnic benches for a munch and a cup of tea afterwards. A family ticket was about $15 from memory.
Steven B — Google review
Great little piece of history. Enjoyed the experience. Was only $6 per person and had so many personal stories. The pictures and photos are great.
Megan D — Google review
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Information set out well. Recommended worth a visit.
Sheena R — Google review
It looked tiny but spent a good hour or more here and still could of spent longer if I read everything. Just a walk up entry not knowing what we were going into and so happy we paid the small entrance fee each. Merv was great. I could of been there another hour talking to him but had to keep moving. A really good experience
Big S — Google review
Candlelight tour was fun, atmospheric and interesting! The staff were awesome and it was such a great way to view the museum.

Historical landmark
Strawberry Hill at Barmup is a historic farm in Western Australia, with roots dating back to the time before European settlement when it was a significant shelter for the Menang people. Visitors can explore the expansive property on a guided tour and enjoy refreshments at the on-site cafe. The knowledgeable guides provide insights into Albany's history and the beginnings of Western Australia, making for an informative and entertaining experience.
Strawberry Hill is known as being the first farm in Western Australia. Entry is free for the members of the National Trust. The entire vast garden was completed by volunteers, which is truly remarkable. We caught the guided tour at 12:15 PM, and with the help of the volunteers, we explored the historic homestead, learning about the living conditions of that time, which was very vivid and interesting. This is a place where you can spend half a day appreciating the colourful gardens and learning about the life of the pioneers. You can also relax in the visitor centre with its large glass windows and chat with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture. There are also many friendly lizards in the yard and on the roof.
Rosa T — Google review
The gardens are gorgeous. Part of the house is original which is fascinating. A must see. Best to check in person if it is actually open as the website is misleading
Wendy G — Google review
We had lovely weather on the day of our visit. Spring, so a lot of flowers in the garden. Had a private tour of the small cottage, which was jam packed with all sorts of donated furniture, household appliances, clothing and bric a brac from the time of the original owner onwards. Very interesting and guide knew about every single item on site.

Best tour I ever done/ very impressive. Highly recommend. I love to hear the story of historical and explore the actual place in the same time.

If you are visiting Albany or live here and have never been to Strawberry Hill Farm, you are missing out on some of WAs most important history. The tour guide we had, Brian was fabulous with incredible knowledge on this place. His tour was very informative and he was very interesting to listen to. He went over and above and am sure he spent way much more time doing the tour with us than he should be. So it was great value as well. Well worth it.
John K — Google review
Lovely spot in Albany that most people would drive past no doubt. Volunteers are lovely and friendly. Tour guide Brian is informative and tour is over 60mins. First Farm in WA and a spot of England in Albany Great little tea and cake afterwards

Highly recommended visiting. My partner and I had a guided tour of the building by volunteer Carolyn. She was very knowledgeable and detailed. We left with a far greater understanding and appreciation of life in Albany in the 1800s. Tickets are reasonably priced at 10$ each for adults.

Very interesting. Lots of history there with original items from the family. The gentleman on duty was very passionate about the history and the family. He was happy for us to take our time through upon arriving near closing time. Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage
Wendy G — Google review
Great guide. She was super friendly and gave so much information. Was well worth the $6 entry fee.
Toni B — Google review
The cottage is a real step back in time. The house is full of historical artefacts and the lady who was volunteering today (first day), was a gem. Although it was a little past closing she was happy to stay and give us even more details on the old house and surrounds. The stories and photos gives a feeling of it being someone's home. Well worth the time if you love history.

This is what you hope to see when you come the original Albany, what a fantastic display and a very engaging host who showed us so much more than we would have seen on our own. If you live here, if your visiting the area or recommend to friends and rellie's the Patrick Taylor cottage is with more than 5 stars

A beautiful piece of West Australian history. Well worth the small admission price. I was so saddened when the attendant said they had few visitors through there. Everything on display was part of a wonderful story. How can you visit a historic town like Albany and not see such a rare site? The locals who saved this cottage and fought for its restoration are to be commended for their vision and spirit. History lessons are so underrated.

Visited the museum and it is quite informative. Spent about 45 minutes in this museum. I like that the musuem is small and compact, filled with information. There are also available parking spaces right outside the museum. To those nearby this place, do drop by and pay a visit to it.

Free entry. The lighthouse glass was beautiful. The metal sculptures outside also very interesting. Definitely worth the visit when passing through albany
Emily B — Google review
A local history museum focussing on the maritime days of the past in the Albany area. Free to enter (or you can donate) and have a look around although there is a small charge to go down below the decks of the Brig Amity ship outside. Nice to look around and understand the history of the area. Probably needs no more than an hour to do.
Shaun L — Google review
Honestly, glad it was free. Not much to see, but the Indigenous history was great and interesting. Sadly, the Brig Amity ship exhibit was closed when we visited.
REBECCA D — Google review
The whole site was fantastic to explore with the highlight being the Brig (ship) Amity. No charge to explore the deck of the ship and only a small fee to go and explore the lower deck. For the fee $4 concession you scan a QR code to your phone that explains various portions and uses of the ship as you go through. Low head room in some areas.
Jim T — Google review
Very informative, historical and comprehensive exhibitions about Albany and surrounds including First Nations stories. First settlers boat 'Amity'. Kids interactive area. Exellent Gift Shop❣️

Great free activity for an hour - 90min. Free car parking available on site with EV charging stations adjacent. Staff provide info on entry, in a small souvenir shop. Main building provides a story on lighthouses, some local seaside & upstairs currently a great photo exhibition (they are fantastic). A few other buildings house various displays- classroom, ocean usage & history of the area from indigenous onwards (very informative). Also houses the Brig Amity - free to access deck but small surcharge to go below deck.

Monuments & Statues
Perched atop Mount Clarence, the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial pays homage to the soldiers who departed from Albany to fight in World War I. The monument stands as a tribute to those who fought at Gallipoli and offers a significant historical backdrop. Visitors can access the site by vehicle or stairs and explore the small forest of Lone Pine seedlings nearby. While parking is limited at the top, it's worth visiting for its historical significance and participation in Albany's annual Anzac Dawn Service.
Such an impactful way to remember the sacrifice so many men and women made to ensure we enjoy the liberties we have today! The quotes on the signboards as you ascend the stairs to the monument provide context for the experience at the time. The effort required to reach the monument (our small sacrifice) helps focus one's thoughts on the larger recognition intended.

Desert Mounted Corps Memorial – Albany, WA A very moving and beautifully maintained memorial overlooking Albany. The statue and plaques give a deep sense of history, and the views from the top are absolutely stunning, with a full panorama of the town and coastline. It’s a peaceful spot to reflect and appreciate the sacrifices made, while also enjoying one of the best lookouts in Albany. Well worth the visit – both for the history and the scenery.

Spectacular views and amazing monument. Credit to all who manage this area. So well looked after and constantly evolving. Great mountain bike and hiking tracks around too. You won't be disappointed
Kelly P — Google review
Whoever designed this site did a really good job. The long walk up to the monument is impressive and the views are quite spectacular. Quite captivating which is tremendous respect for what it represents. We actually came during night time, some ambient light but also twilight hours add a lot of character.
Ronen S — Google review
This is a large scale monument located at the end of Apex Drive at Mt. Clarence in the Albany Heritage Park. There is a car park at the bottom of a long set of steps that take visitors up to the Memorial. What you find is a bronze replica originally erected at Port Said, Egypt. The replica was created and erected here in 1964 as part of an overall testimony to ANZAC found throughout the Albany Heritage Park. What you see are two bronze soldiers and horses in action, likely representing Australia and New Zealand brothers in arms during WWI action (1916-18). The bronze are atop a rectangular shaped pillar. There is open space around with views of the King George Sound, marina and other areas around Albany as well.
Brad — Google review
Great lookout close to town center. Anzac memorial included. Worth the trip ! Pleny of parking, plenty of benches to chill out & eat something for tourists.

Respectfully laid out at the top of the hill with some absolutely spectacular views. The way up is very steep. You can either walk up the hill or climb the stairs. There is a pick-up and drop-off area at the top of the hill where you can get dropped off to have a look if you're unable to walk up. It's well worth it to have a look.

The Albany Heritage Park is a 260 hectare reserve that includes Mount Clarence and Mount Adelaide within the city of Albany. There are hiking and walking trails within the park as well as roads which take visitors past fine viewpoints and the heritage area around the old Princess Royal Fortress featuring the ANZAC Centre. Further reaches up Mount Clarence along Memorial Drive includes rows of trees memorialising locals who fell while fighting overseas during WWI and WWII. Further up Apex Drive, the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial is also worth making the extra few minutes to view as well. Overall, we found the Heritage Park to be a very good use of land as both a nature reserve and place for remembrance and to appreciate the sacrifices made by past generations to afford us the lands and freedoms to enjoy them during this and future generations.

National Anzac Centre

Museums
The National Anzac Centre, opened in late 2014 to mark Albany's Anzac centenary commemorations, is a modern museum dedicated to honoring the Australian and New Zealand soldiers of World War I. The center features interactive exhibits and multimedia installations that provide a realistic and immersive experience. Situated overlooking the expansive body of water from which the troop ships departed, the museum offers compelling presentations that include individual stories alongside descriptions of larger war scenarios.
This is the second time I have visited the National Anzac Centre and it was just as good as I remembered. The centre is very interesting and informative and the grounds have a lot of history. If you get the chance to hear one of the volunteers outside talk about the history of the grounds, definitely listen in. Take the time to not only explore the centre, but also the buildings and grounds outside.

A mind-blowing extraordinary emotional experience. So many audio story's, interactive boards. Beautiful restored heritage buildings. Boardwalks and displays to meander thru. A beautiful museum with amazing interactive exhibits dedicated to the WWI Anzacs. It's pearched high above Albany overlooking the harbour in King George Sound and in a magnificent park setting. It's a 30 minute mostly uphill walk from the town centre but there is plenty of on site car parking available. Definitely worth a visit
Adam G — Google review
Both outside in the grounds walking around and inside in the monument fills you with a sense of emotional in that it is impossible to think what the young individuals thought they were about to face in World War One. The journey inside that you take as one of those individuals is very well thought through with the various installations and displays added to by the views out into the bay where the convoy ships gathered before setting off. Definitely an Albany highlight that must be seen.
Shaun L — Google review

It caters to all tastes, ages, and occasions with its relaxed atmosphere and long-time menu favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or light snacks.
I really enjoyed the breakfast i had at Dylans while visiting albany. Before ordering omelette I asked the staff if i could swap bacon with chicken as i cant have bacon because of religious reason. The staff was really cordial with the request and she took extra precautions while making my order. We took omelettes, steak sandwich, blueberry pancakes and coffees. Everything was so tasty. Specially the coffee. I took hazelnut latte, it was probably the best one i had in WA so far. 10/10 recommend ♥️

We’re passing through Albany on our travels across WA, found Dylans on our walk, and glad we did! 👌 Place was very busy, people waiting to be seated, which usually means it’s good! We just wanted some takeaway coffees and started to worry it might be a long wait, but I was served very quickly and they got started on our coffees right away! Coffee and cake came out very fast, coffee is great and cake was very tasty! Highly recommended, thank you very much!

Bustling Cafe which is always a good sign. Inviting, clean, nice decor and great service. The food was great too and a good menu selection. Prices are comparable with other cafes. Plenty of street parking, dine inside or outside with harbour views. Well worth a visit when in Albany.

Stopped in for breakfast while visiting Albany, we were treated immediately and shown a table by a very capable gentleman who had the front seating and order taking completely under control. Coffees came quickly and were great, big breakfast arrived for Hubbie and they kindly did a half serve of bacon and eggs and between us both we could not eat it all it was a very generous serve. Pic snapped half way though.

We came to Dylans on a Sunday for having lunch inside the restaurant. We ordered a burger and the chicken and avo sandwich. Both of them were nice (nothing spectacular but nice, haha). Loved it all! First time to the pub in Albany! My hosts brought me to this locale as they are frequent visitors and love the food and atmosphere! I completely concur after last night's supper! Book a table beforehand as it was really bustling with ppl on a Friday night. The food? Delicious! The Earl Crew were so hospitable and made sure the food and drink were to our liking...expectations exceeded! From this Canadian, thank you for a great experience! Highly recommend!

The atmosphere was nice, especially the outdoor area. If you come here just for a 6 place is awesome 👌 lots of options. I ordered steak, medium rare, it came out rare, no problem at all. But there's no charcoal taste on the steak, no veggies, only peas. My husband and son ordered the pie, and it's a bit salty. Basically, all you can taste is just the Guinness gravy. Are we going to be back there? Hmm, not for the steak, maybe just for drinks

This is my second time to Albany for business in my new role, and the second time I have been to The Earl of Spencer for dinner. I will never go anywhere else and cannot recommend this place enough! The vibe is awesome, warm and cosy, nice and busy with the chatter of diners and happy smiley attentive staff who remembered my name! There is plenty of parking and heaps of tables. I feel incredibly welcomed and accommodated and of course the food and drinks are amazing too! Shout out to Chelsea and Pete and Cam for being AMAZING! I watch how hard they work and their interactions with all of the clientele both young and old, local and from afar, and without them, this place would not be the same! Thank you!! 🤩👍🏽💃🏽🙏🏼

Probably the most stingy Sunday Roast you will ever come across. One small slither of fatty lamb and flavourless vegetables to boot. Very loud music, to the point where you need to yell at other people even from the other side of the room. One saving grace was a very generous amount of sauce to go with the $5 sticky date which was good value.

Plenty of food, however, i had better food option before. Secondly, the long black was quite bad, if you are not dying for a coffee needs, please do not order the long black. Most of the food menu does pair with alcohol, it may not be good option for someone who need to drive after eating. but the interior and the historical building was one of the main reason why we were there and it was so cool on how the historical photos being presented. I think the steak was overcooked, the fish was just nice. The food can absolutely be better.

We both ordered the scotch steak with an extra side of peppercorn sauce. Both steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare with a nice crust. The chips on mine were well cooked and mash on my partners was smooth. I think $52.5 including garlic prawns is a decent price compared to other options in Albany. We will definitely return when we’re back in Albany.

Had a great Fathers day here. Can't fault the place for a quaint lil pub hidden behind the main streets. The food was amazing and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. The kids nature playground was a hit with the lil ones. We'll be back again.

Liberté is a charming and popular bar and restaurant located in Albany, offering a fusion of French and Vietnamese inspired share plates. Nestled within the historic London Hotel, this venue exudes Parisian-themed decor with renaissance artworks and Boehme furnishings. It's known for its versatile offerings including beers, wines, cocktails, live music, and entertainment options. The cozy atmosphere combined with delectable Vietnamese cuisine makes it a must-visit spot in Albany's trendy scene.
Loved this place! So beautiful inside and service was friendly and accommodating. Loved the furnishings. The chicken salad was amazing! Absolutely loved the red wine that I searched for the winery. Brussel sprouts entree was so good, a little spicy but best we’ve had apart from what we do at home with them. We didn’t have dessert though as there was no dairy free or vegan options for it.

This place was such a cool experience. I was recommended by a friend to check it out. Loved the layout it was awesome. Very retro felt like you went back in time. Food was tasty! Love the loaded fries with brisket, pork belly was tasty, bao also tasty and fried rice was nice if you like the taste of lemon grass and I do. Nothing to complain about there. Cocktails were also nice but on the pricer side. For two starters, two mains and a cocktail each it was $160. Definitely happy I went and can say I've done it.

We were recommended to try out this restaurant while visiting Denmark. Beautiful setting and quick service from the waitress. Abit of a wait from the kitchen. Non carbs items are yummy. We had the chicken liver parfait, crispy pork belly, loaded fries, fried rice and crab noodles. Chicken liver parfait (6pcs)- pleasant taste but inconsistent amount on the liver. Some had generous amount some only a dollop on a prawn cracker. Crispy pork belly - crispy with beetroot salad. Very small portion. Not a size for sharing as per the menu ‘sharing is caring’ Loaded fries with brisket - spicy. Kids couldn’t eat it. Average Fried rice for kids - not suitable for kids at all. Spicy and taste like tomyum fried rice. Only carbs barely any meat The famous garlic crab noodles - without any crab. $36 with all carbs. Some cheese and greens on top. Overpowering sauce like pad Thai. If u are going for the crab. Then avoid this as there isn’t any in it.

Food = 10/10. Unfortunately I will not return unless this place has a massive revamp. I am not sure if this is intentional but it feels like you are at a family lunch at an elderly relatives home where you have to find any part of the living area to sit and eat. Me and my two friends were sat on a small stage in the corner with three arm chairs and a coffee table which was quite uncomfortable. The couple beside us were seated at a desk and there was another group sat on two long couches with a long coffee table in the middle. In our opinion, the general aesthetic, cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurant does not match the high prices of the food and alcohol at this venue. It smells like moth balls, curtains are dusty, there is visible mould and the ceiling is starting to cave in. Unfortunately we are aware there is no other venue like this in Albany so Liberte can get away with being a dump that sells quality food. Service was decent (for Albany)

We literally stumbled upon this place after a long drive from Perth, and it was beyond fabulous. The wait staff were super friendly and the food was fantastic! We had the fried Brussels sprouts with sriracha and a fresh, crunchy and spicy chicken salad. Just the thing to pep us up. Great drinks list and the vibe was spot on. Thanks for a great night - set the Albany bar high!

We had a lovely night at Liberté! The staff were friendly and food was delicious. We ordered our drinks and food, and it was ready within minutes. Our booking was at 8:30pm so it probably wasn’t too busy around that time. The food was bursting with flavours but it’s a bit pricey and portions aren’t too big. The french fries with pho gravy tasted amazing but got salty with each bite. The pork belly just melts in the mouth. I also love the addition of the kaffir lime in the fried rice. The crab noodles was tasty but it got too sour and salty for me as I kept eating it. Overall it was a lovely experience and will definitely be back to try the other foods in the menu.

Nestled along the picturesque banks of Princess Royal Harbour, Due South is a spacious bar and eatery that perfectly captures the essence of Albany's vibrant dining scene. With its airy interior and stunning views to the south, it's an ideal spot for enjoying a leisurely meal or drinks with friends. The menu features a delightful array of dishes, including locally sourced seafood and share plates, complemented by an impressive selection of craft beers and wines exclusively from the Great Southern region.
The menu presented great pub fare; generous serves, fresh, crisp, hot, and flavoursome, the mussels being a standout! No need to book in, with plenty of tables inside. We were seated quickly and service was prompt and friendly, bonus is live music on Sundays! Thanks!!

Very much a pub vibe here, but in a good way. The place is huge, with plenty of seating, a solid pub-style menu, and a good range of drinks. We had the pizza, which was really tasty, and the view of the Wind Farm from the venue is a nice touch.

We stopped in at Due South Albany for lunch and a few cold beers, and it was the perfect place to unwind by the water before our whale watching tour. The venue has a relaxed, open feel with great views of the harbour, making it ideal for a casual afternoon. We ordered the BBQ pork ribs and mussels, and both dishes were excellent. The ribs were tender, smoky, and full of flavour, while the mussels were fresh and served in a rich, tasty broth. Everything paired perfectly with a couple of icy beers straight from the tap. Service was friendly and laid-back, and our meals came out quickly. Overall, it was a really enjoyable lunch, good food, great drinks, and an easygoing atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Albany.

Huge portions and great value for money. Pretty standard pub food but quite nice. Good atmosphere and large seating area with lots of tables.
Jess C — Google review
Average pub style venue, and food was very average. Salad was drenched in dressing and over powered the salad. The hickory sauce on the ribs was too strong and salty that you couldn’t taste the meat. The fillet steak was nice (ordered medium rare, came out medium) but wasn’t worth $65 (very over priced for a ‘pub’ meal! Disappointing 🤨

Popular place on a Saturday but that just added to the popular vibe this place has on the waterfront. We ordered the fried chicken, salad and halloumi plus drinks. Just right for a grazing Saturday evening. Menu is pretty varied and it seems a hit with the locals. Happy to recommend.

Been here a few times and this was a most disappointing evening for sure... I just read a review from 8 months ago with the same complaint, so I guess Due South don't read these + nor care about fixing them... Heads up DO NOT ORDER THE DUE SOUTH CHICKEN PARMIE... This is a monstrous meal that costs $35.00 a pop and is completely tasteless... My wifes meal was cold... 2 pale ales and 2 chicken parmigiana = $100 bucks... Rosie's chicken at a service station has more flavour... We ate the chips and the over saturated salad and left... My wife wanted an icecream on the way out... 2 serves $19.00... Disappointed to say the least...

I ordered chicken parmi’s for takeaway this was how they arrived.. I get it was busy but stop taking orders if the quality of food is going to be like this. They tasted gross, like they’d been cooked in old oil. Burnt too. Really upsetting as it cost me $75 (for 2 parmi’s & a hot choc). I usually have a good experience here at Due South but this was so bad that I actually felt like I needed to write a review. Not on. Don’t serve customers food like this.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Albany. Food was fantastic, wine was good and service was excellent. Food was very flavourfull. Sardines on toast were really good as was the crepe suzzette which you do not often see on the menu. We sat upstairs which we really liked as a bit less noisy. There is also a very quaint balcony with seating upstairs.

To be honest with you we had a Night organized here arachini balls tasted like sardines from a bait place.and the pate taste like dog food. It is really hard for me to be so abrupt and so rude about one’s food but honestly, the prices are over the moon for stuff that smells like what we feed our dogs, unfortunately for us and many of your others. This is probably not the place for you to go to. I hope that you enjoy food at other places. Looks good but honestly so bad unfortunately.

Cute bistro and very lovely for a Wednesday evening. Amazing food. I got the lamb and it was out of this world. The steak and mussels (the special of the day) were also lovely. Highly recommend for a nicer dinner in the area

Service was extremely slow—we waited over an hour for our food while later orders arrived first. If you’ve got plans for later that night, expect delays. To add to the frustration, our scallop entrée had three while our friends had four when they’re here, showing a lack of consistency. Decent food, but not worth the wait.

Amazing dinner! Every dish from start to finish was well executed and presented. We had the seared scallops, just cooked perfectly. The steak and grilled line fish were cooked perfectly, the sides paired very well. The dessert, bread pudding was stunning. We would lobe to come back again. Service was very good considering only one waitress. She was friendly and warm, checked in on us frequently. What a great find in this small town.

Stumbled across this little gem on a quick trip to Albany and was very glad I did. The food was just beautiful! Not overdone, not pretentious, just a beautiful meal backed up with wonderful service and a great little wine list. Wait staff and owner were lovely and although they were packed to the rafters, we didn’t get lost in the bedlam. Definitely worth having a meal here ❤️

We were warmly welcomed and quickly seated (I strongly advise booking) but the service dipped to almost non-existent after that. I don't think it's this venue's attitude/intention though. The hospitality sector in entire region overwhelmingly understaffed and unfortunately it's resulting in frazzled nerves for servers and customers alike. The food was great and we did not have to wait long for it after it was ordered. The portions are more than adequate, and full of flavour.

Excellent bistro run by a lovely South African couple serving modern French-style cuisine. The ambience is smart, with dark, moody colours, and a large well-stocked bar. Lovely food, attractively plated, based on Australian and local area produce.

Bred co Sourdough Bakery

Mentioned on

Bakery
Bred Co Sourdough Bakery, established in 2017 by Rhiannon Moon and Sam Dawson, initially operated as a small bakery at the weekly Albany Farmers Market. In 2020, they expanded to a physical location offering their exceptional sourdough bread and baked goods daily. The bakery showcases an array of pastries including light croissants and lemon myrtle scrolls, as well as takeaway sandwiches and sausage rolls with unique fillings like pork and pear.
Bred Co has a vibe all its own — warm, welcoming, and always buzzing with locals in the know. I’ve been buying and enjoying their incredible bread for over 10 years — first at the Albany Markets, then at their bakehouse in the Business Centre, and now at their buzzing, artisan bakery at the top of town. There is truly no other bakery in the region like it. I just had to hop on and give them a shoutout because I’ve seen a few negative posts recently and honestly — they feel fake or completely off the mark. This place is the real deal. This is true farm-to-table food. They source local organic grain, mill it in-house, and craft the most delicious sourdough loaves you’ll find anywhere. There’s so much to choose from: wholemeal, rye, fruit loaf, baguette, high-top, even a gluten-free option. And then — the croissants. Their viennoiserie (croissants, danishes, and other pastries) are made entirely from scratch, right here in Albany — something most people don’t realise. Everyone else buys them in frozen or freighted down, unless they’re smart enough to get them wholesale from Bred Co. These are next level — buttery, flaky, and always seasonal. No tinned fruit in sight! My darling 82-year-old mother lives for her delivery of almond croissants and the latest sweet (or savoury) Danish, always paired with a perfect extra-hot latte. If you’re after lunch, their sandwiches, quiches, sausage rolls and pies are also made fresh and follow the seasons — simple, thoughtful, and full of flavour. The coffee is consistently excellent, and the vibe is always relaxed and inviting. The only downside? If you turn up too late, your favourites might already be sold out. But honestly, that’s just proof of how loved this place is.

The best spot in Albany for me :))) When I came, most of the places were closed or would be closed soon. I passed by this bakery and I found out one of the best bakery in WA. The filling in the lamb pastry is huge and tasty althoughI don't like lamb baked commonly. The lemon cream roll is absolutely gorgeous and the sour is perfect level. So sad I can't stay another day to try other flavours of croissants. If this bakery were in my hometown, I'd come over every weekend.
Minh L — Google review
This was my first visit to Bred. I ordered 2 large flat whites with an extra shot in each and 2 baguettes. $28 I noticed they looked like cappuccinos. When I checked if I had my order and not someone else's, I was told it was my order. I mentioned that I had received caps instead of flat whites. They asked if I would like them replaced, and I said its ok. I probably should have got them replaced, but I was a bit time poor on the day, and we don't mind the occasional cappuccino. Walking back to the car, I tried the coffee. It was under extracted and bitter. Both coffees were like a single shot in a large coffee. I paid for extra shot, so they should have had 3 and strong. The baguettes were not very good. In my opinion, the structure was dense.

Cute little bakery, yummy bread and pastry treats. Love that they serve the coffee in those beautiful pottery mugs. Only recommendation: Please bring back the salmon bagels. They were the best salmon bagels I have ever had and one of the reasons why I would come by.

Gluten free bread, I like that. Coffee was really nice. Also got some lil rolls that I think will go very well with some cheese.

Do not waste your time. The staff was rude and rolled his eyes when I asked questions about the bread. Paid $9 and it is actually burnt on the top and a brick. It is actually inedible. Would never visit again.

Come here for their bread and it’s not disappointed me. The baguette 🥖 is really good! Recommend! Chewy and crispy! But I don’t like the croissant 🥐 so much it’s more like a combined croissant and bread, don’t have the light taste. Coffee is ok, we bought 2 packs of coffee beans 🫘 will try when we back home.

Great vibes! Deceptive look from out front but as you head inside, massive open space with awesome summer vibes. Open front with sweet breeze and some old pub vibes. Beers are great with a load of choices for beer and non beer drinkers. The staff are very friendly and helpful with choices and local knowledge. We didn't get a chance to eat there but it looked and smelled good! Great brewery stop!

A rustic pub, very cozy, with live music, a pool table, etc. We were lucky enough to be there for the Halloween party and karaoke. It was very funny and everyone was so happy! Great vibes! We had the nachos and loaded fries, plus their beer. Good size, flavour, and price. It was an amazing experience for sure.

Awesome brews, good food, and relaxed vibes, with no gimmicks, frills or fuss required to make Wilson's a great choice for any evening. Of particular note was the onion rings, chicken burger, generous pizzas, and impressive kids meal that came out with a few snackable veggies and cheeky Freddo to polish it off (or a handy bribe). A very worthy addition to the terrace that we will definitely be back to.

Spectacular! It’ll ruffle feathers, but I rate Wilson Brewing as one of the best breweries in WA, if not Australia wide. Incredible beers, imaginative, relevant, delicious, satisfying. They are reliable, and available in most bottle shops. But if you ever find yourself travelling through Albany, do not miss this place. It’s a rustic, easygoing, fun area, full of quirky merch and signage, pinball machines, pool tables, all the good things you want while enjoying a delicious pint (or two+). They also serve all the food you want to have over an ale, and they produce it in mouth-watering fashion. Best thing about it (especially for animal lovers), they have a resident car, Barley. Gorgeous placid little furball (see photos). Been a while since my last review, as I wait till something compels me to review, and this experience was more than worth it.

A shed of a brewery. Don’t let first impressions deceive you as this place makes really good beer. Their food is as good as their alcoholic liquid gold. Dude food is the name of the game and their food is very tasty and quite filling. Had the tasting paddle of beer and loved their ginger beer. It tastes as good as Boston Brewery Tingletop but being a Albany local this is one pretty tasty alcoholic ginger beer. Had a good experience of this place as can play pool waiting for your food. Also you get to meet the resident cat which reminds me of Garfield 😂

A True Taste of the Region on the Saturday morning! We visited recently and came home with a beautiful haul of fresh fruits, vegetables, and some delicious baked goods from the bakery stall. Everything was so fresh and tasted amazing, you can really tell the difference when produce is this quality. The atmosphere was lovely, with friendly vendors who are clearly passionate about what they do. It's the perfect place to spend a Saturday morning. A small tip for future visitors that make sure to stop at an ATM first, as most of the stalls we saw were cash-only. It's a small inconvenience for such a wonderful experience. We can't wait to go back and explore more of what's on offer!

Couldn’t wait to come here as I love visiting the Farmers Market in towns we holiday in. The fresh fruit and vege, artisan breads and pastries and smell of fresh coffee… so good . So you can imagine my disappointment when we walked up to the Albany markets . Wasn’t many options of breakie food choices .. 2 places selling pastries .. coffee took forever as there was only one van . I thought it would be more of an experience, maybe my expectations were too high .

Coffee is worth the wait! We come to this market when we visit Albany.because we love the freshness of the vegetables and avocados. Yesterday, the little rain did not dampen the atmosphere at all. But what shocked us was when we were charged $8 for ONE chocolate croissant! That costs more than the extra large coffee with oat milk that I had. It might be good to label the goods with a price tag like how the other stall. I was planning on getting a loaf of sourdough from them but decided not to for fear that it may cost me an arm and a leg!

I was really excited to come here as I love indoor plants and flower arrangements, but as I looked around, while I waited for my coffee, I was disappointed to notice that they had stopped putting much attention into their indoor plants. There weren't as many as there once was, compared to the photos shown on google, and the ones that were there were in poor condition. I was sad to see one had been infected by mealy bugs. Please put more effort into the indoor plant side of your business. It was a big draw for me, and I was left feeling a bit disappointed. My coffee, unfortunately, wasn't the best either.

NICE REGIONAL AIRPORT WITH FAST CHECK-IN AND MODERN FACILITIES OK, so it's a very small airport but it functions well. Serviced by REX airlines. It is quite far from Albany town centre but you can ask the REX flight crew to order you a taxi while still in flight. It's the sort of airport you go to just before your flight.. not one where you dine, shop and relax. Friendly staff.

Sadly there is no cafe outlet at the airport to look after the public, but the place is comfortable with a good view of the runway.

Small airport but its okay. Albany City cabs available

Great little airport. Plenty of seating and large windows onto the runway. Wish all airport were this good.

No food here but plenty of parking and rental cars. Nice large viewing windows, good to take the kids to see planes up close. Needs a permanent barista and at least some snack and pinball machines.

This is my home town airport which is serviced by Rex regional airlines. There are 3-4 flights a day to and from Perth, taking 50 minutes.
