The Grand Mosque of Kuwait, also known as 'Al-Masjid Al-Kabir', is a must-see attraction in the heart of Kuwait City. It's the largest mosque in the country and the 8th largest in the world.
2025.05.05 I visited here Mashaa Allah this is the best place in Kuwait. All staffs are very kind, very supportive and they give us respect. I have visited many places in Kuwait but this is number one in everything. Also who ever staying in Kuwait or plan to visit Kuwait every one need to visit here. Most important thing this staffs know English well they talking with us in English that is very important. Personally I give 5 stars for the staffs only.

This s my first visit to the Grand Mosque of Kuwait. From outside, this mosque look descent and humble. But when I entered the mosque, it is marvelous, beautiful interior, fantastic dome, beautiful carpet, bluish and golden color make the interior so amazing. It is filled with Islamic calligraphy, all over the wall and the dome. In its exhibition hall, it has some calligraphy too from other countries such as China. You need to wear your cloth properly, and for ladies, you need to wear cloth that cover your body from top to toe (hijab, headscarf). Very beautiful.

This was the first attraction I visited in Kuwait City, and it did not disappoint! The building is absolutely glorious, the main hall is breathtaking in both size and beauty. The architecture is stunning and truly worth seeing. Entrance is free, and there are tours available in English, which makes the experience even more engaging. A must-see landmark in Kuwait City!.

The Grand Mosque is a breathtaking landmark that beautifully showcases Islamic architecture and Kuwaiti culture. The intricate interiors, grand dome, and peaceful atmosphere make it a must-visit in Kuwait City.
KevUn — Google review
The Grand Mosque is absolutely breathtaking. 😍 It's so quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Ladies are not allowed to go to the men section and vice versa. Do cover up dressing modestly, ladies need to wear Hijab (head scarf), no exposed body parts, arms and legs, need to be fully covered, no lace or transparent clothing. Men need to cover up as well wearing plain clothing like t-shirt and bottoms. No inappropriate writing and any pictures on the clothes. It's Free to visit and they have certain timings, best to go early in the morning around 9am.
نساء أ — Google review
Free guided tour provided as long as you follow the allocated time for guided tours. Some confusing information found online on the opening times for visiting this mosque. Do not come on Friday and Sunday. Though external of the mosque compound doesn't look as mesmerizing as other mosque in GCC, the internal decoration of the mosque has its own unique beauty. What I feel the best is the warm welcome of the guide and the free drinks (juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate) and snacks provided in the reception area. This you won't get at any other bigger mosque in this region.
Julia J — Google review
A beautiful and majestic mosque in Kuwait City. Tour guides are friendly and we enjoyed a pleasant and informative tour!
Richard D — Google review
The Visitor timings are from Sunday to Thursday Early morning to 6.30 as mentioned at the premises through visitor gate 7. There was ample parking space and we were guided by the security staff precisely. Refreshments and the traditional wear for women were available at the reception area and the tour was a guided one.

The Kuwait Towers, a trio of striking blue-tiled structures, have been an iconic symbol of Kuwait since their completion in 1979. These towers serve both practical and touristic purposes, with one housing a revolving observatory offering panoramic views of the Persian Gulf and featuring high-rise restaurants. The tallest tower also functions as a water reservoir while another supplies electricity to parts of the district.
Lovely views of Kuwait coastline and city. You also get a nice overhead view of the Aqua park next door. Free entry for children under 4 years old. 1.5 KD for children between 4-9, and 3KD for 9 years and above. You’re not allowed to bring in food or drinks (you can buy some at the stand on the observation deck).
Bola S — Google review
So pretty! But after going inside, there’s not much to do asides from a restaurant and the gift shop only had a couple items. Overall a good place to stop by if you haven’t been here before. Not worth going a second time though
JoJo — Google review
I think it’s a nice park and the towers are quite striking from the outside. The day I went it was foggy, so I just walked around but didn’t go up. It was worth the taxi ride to visit and I would recommend it just to get outside and walk around in November.
Adam S — Google review
Tickets easily available but to purchase online. Atmosphere is wonderful, and best view from the inside. This Kuwait towers must be visited in the Night for perfect and wonderfull view.
Farukh A — Google review
Amazing view of the whole city. The viewing doom has a snacks bar & drinks. it has two levels, non-rotating which is wheel chair friendly and the upper level ''stairs access only'' is the rotating one. An entrance fee is required ''at this time of writing the review, is 3 K.D. per adult, Elders on Wheel chairs are FREE of charge''. The middle sphyre has two resturants that serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. But a reservation must be made!! A really nice place to visit! Unfortunatly, before it has a gallary about the Iraqi invasion distruction. but they remove it after renovation. its a really peace of history and should be kept in there!

Standing proudly on the Arabian Gulf, the Kuwait Towers are more than a landmark —l they’re a symbol of resilience, beauty, and the spirit of Kuwait. Whether you visit for the breathtaking 360° views, the peaceful sea breeze, or just to feel the heartbeat of Kuwait’s skyline, the Towers never disappoint. A reminder that some icons don’t just stand tall they inspire

National museum
History museum
The Kuwait National Museum, located near the National Assembly, is a blend of traditional and modern architecture designed by French architect Michael Ecochard. The museum houses five buildings surrounding a central courtyard and features exhibitions showcasing Kuwait's history and heritage. Damaged during the Gulf War, it has been restored to include a planetarium, heritage wing, and ancient artifacts from Failika Island.
The place is awesome, clean and holds a lot in terms of history. I met one guide, forgot his name, who was quite friendly and very knowledgeable and informative. Will definitely come back again.
Kevin L — Google review
I keep on looking for entry gate as there was no one to guide there… so much silent then later on I find by self and good place to look for Kuwait history.. And the main attraction is opposite side Harbour walk to view sunset point with beach so nice place

Francesco C — Google review
No official information can be find online on the availability of the museums. Been there and surprisingly to find out only one Hall open for public. Not much of information/exhibits found. Not worth going.
Julia J — Google review
Such a beautiful establishment that is in dire need of refurbishment and maintenance, both outside and inside including the greenery and pavements. If you get past the many closed halls and overlook the maintenance needing areas, you will enjoy a wonderful and storytelling museum that perhaps was stellar once upon a time. I hope we visit again and find more exhibits on display. Be aware of parking areas as Google and other apps get lost with updates. Also mind the timing as it closes midday.
Salim F — Google review
I am very disappointed in the exterior (poor grounds maintenance) and the interior of this national museum. Once you entered into a dimly lite entrance... you were greeted with kind and friendly receptionists. However, once we began our walk, many display cases were not lighted, which made it hard to see the artifacts. The artifacts that we could see and read about were not well described. Once you exited the 1st display area (again disappointed in the maintenance of the exterior), we entered another building with few, very dusty, broken displays that barely explained the history of the Kuwaiti people. Again, the lighting made it hard to read the few displays that had a bit of information. Once you exited this area, that was the end of the tour... nothing was displayed from about the 1970s to the present date, no modern history of Kuwait. I gave it a 2 rating for the friendly staff and a few artifacts that I could learn a little about that were on display.
Molly C — Google review
A place where the history and culture of Kuwait are depicted through a market theme. There is a planetarium, first in the Middle East, as of July 2024, it's closed for maintenance and expected to be opened by the end of the year. Must Visit Museum, also entrance is free.

Park
Nature & Parks
Al Shaheed Park is a contemporary green space in Kuwait City that offers a peaceful escape from the urban hustle and bustle. Spanning 200,000 square meters, it features botanical gardens, walking paths, jogging tracks, and an amphitheater. The park also houses two museums - The Habitat and The Memorial Museum - which provide insights into Kuwait's heritage and history. Visitors can enjoy the park's immaculately kept surroundings during both daytime strolls and evening explorations.
Beautiful, well maintained, lush green park with all features of a pure public entertainment for all age groups. It has rides and swings for the kids, a jogging track to have a run, fountain show for families and a museum that shows the cultural heritage of the area. Located within the bustling city it provides a healthy calm escape from a hectic city life. There's a huge underground parking of two levels that is totally free. It's a must visit in the Kuwait city.
Dr. A — Google review
Al Shaheed Park is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in all of Kuwait. It’s more than just a park—it’s a masterpiece of nature, design, and culture brought together in perfect harmony. The moment you walk in, you feel an incredible sense of calm and appreciation for how thoughtfully everything has been created. The park is immaculately maintained, with lush green landscapes, stunning fountains, walking and jogging paths, and breathtaking architecture. Every corner feels picture-perfect, from the flower gardens to the reflective pools and modern art installations. Whether you’re here for exercise, photography, or just to relax, Al Shaheed Park offers the ideal setting. The atmosphere is peaceful yet full of life—you’ll see families, joggers, and tourists all enjoying the beauty around them. The museum and visitor center are beautifully designed and add a deeper cultural layer to the experience, making it not just a park, but a destination of learning and inspiration. At night, the park transforms into something even more magical with its lighting and serene ambiance. It’s the perfect escape from the city without ever leaving it.

This park is so big, you need to spend good few hours here. Best to go at night as the lights and water fountains are on. The park is well maintained, clean and very beautiful. Taxis do go there.
نساء أ — Google review
Best public park I’ve seen in my travels, nice bathrooms and amenities including a bird sanctuary, mini old (and new) town, musical fountain with cafes and restaurants. Best to probably come around 4-5 pm as most museums aren’t open before but also if you come too late you won’t be able to admire the nice landscaping.
Sydney Y — Google review
Visited Al Shaheed Park yesterday and it was an amazing experience! 🌿 The place is beautifully maintained with lush greenery, peaceful walking paths, and great spots to relax. The fountains, museum, and night lighting make it even more special. Perfect place to spend time with family or just unwind alone. Definitely deserving of 5 stars! 🌸
Savin S — Google review
It’s is one of the most peaceful spots in Kuwait. Surrounded by greenery, fountains, and birdsong, it’s a perfect place to relax with family. The walking paths, shaded seating, and coffee shops make it easy to spend hours here. Best to visit early morning or evening when it’s cooler and quieter. A true urban oasis right in the city.
Jithin J — Google review
The place is very good for walking, jogging, running and the place is well maintained and the famous buildings in kuwait their miniature are built perfect and the musical fountains are excellent to watch will different lighting and good for families to enjoy the climate and relax without any disturbance. Visit the place and you will love and enjoy.
Richard A — Google review
If you’re looking for a peaceful green escape in the city, this park is a hidden gem. It’s beautifully maintained, green and most importantly incredibly safe. Whether you’re visiting with family, your partner, kids, or just need some solo time, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. You can go for a run, take a quiet walk, read a book under the trees, or simply sit and soak in the chilled atmosphere. There’s a real sense of calm here that’s hard to find elsewhere. It’s one of those rare places where you can truly disconnect and be present. I always find myself coming back especially during winter 😍😍😍😍

Market
Shopping
Al Mubarakiya is a lively and vibrant souk located in the heart of Kuwait, offering a captivating display of Islamic art at the Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah. This historic market dates back centuries and provides visitors with an authentic experience of Kuwait's unique atmosphere. It features a wide range of goods, from traditional Middle Eastern dishes to Persian silk carpets, antiques, fresh produce, and aromatic spices.
Old market place, lot of authentic restaurants and stands . For more fun Check social media sites.
Abulmajd A — Google review
Very strange market. One benefit and a drawback is that most of the traders are arranged in sections. All exchange offices are on one street, so you can compare the rates quickly. But on the other hand, it is difficult to find an exchange elsewhere. Goods are all the same in many shops: perfumes, rolls of fabrics. Barely anything for the tourists. Heritage street with mostly closed shops. All the sellers are sitting in the shops talking to somebody on the phones. Nobody's interested in the customers. Most of the shops are very small. How did you survive the covid?
Alik M — Google review
If you want to visit the old market and bazar of kuwait 🇰🇼 that is revamped and renovated with modern looks, then you must visit Al Mubarakiya. Everything there is well managed and cleaned. Old houses and structures, that was once the homes of people, now turned into shops. The market structure and shops make me feel like the old architectural design from a story from Alladin. Street with warm lighting ambience in style of old lantern, structure, small ventilation windows, old retro door of houses with chain buckles, still used to lock doors of shop, Adobe looks of houses now transformed into shops, made you time travel into time. All the shops are well organised and you can find a lot of clothing, restaurants, tea shops, sweet shops, perfume shop there. I simply love visiting this area. As many people were there, I was not comfortable taking pictures of the vicinity but somehow managed to get a few shots. Barbecue of the one of the restaurant 😋 is delicious with a good serving size but expensive.

A nice, clean souq. You'll find a lot of things there. If anyone is looking for souvenirs, good luck! There is only one shop there. 👀😆 All the best 👍🏻😉

Japanese restaurant
Restaurant
Tatami Japanese Restaurant is a culinary gem that beautifully blends the art of Haute Japanese cooking with beloved traditional dishes, creating an unforgettable dining experience. Nestled in the Shaymaa Tower and Dhai Complex Al Bidaa, this restaurant embraces modern aesthetics while honoring Japan's rich hospitality traditions. The menu is a delightful journey through authentic flavors, featuring everything from sushi and sashimi to tempura, all presented with elegance and creativity.
Better atmosphere than last time, a much chill music , food was top notch
Budour J — Google review
Overall, it was a pleasant experience with a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and stylish décor. The food quality was good, though the sushi rolls did not fully meet expectations. A few downsides included the difficulty in finding parking near the restaurant, the lack of a classic paper menu (only QR code and iPad options), and poor internet coverage, which made accessing the menu inconvenient. While it was an enjoyable visit, it wouldn’t be my top choice for a Japanese cuisine . Honestly I hardly recommend
Aly Z — Google review
Excellent atmosphere with an excellent staff. A great manager, Christopher and the wait staff are great too, Gaven and the others. The food is delicious. Try the grilled mushrooms!
Artium P — Google review
I’ve been to Tatami twice now and both times were great! The food is always fresh and flavorful. The tuna guacamole appetizer is my absolute favorite, super tasty and a perfect start to the meal. The only small downside is that they use imitation crab, which I think could be improved, but overall it’s definitely a solid spot for good Japanese food and a chill atmosphere.
Hansel T — Google review
The best sushi place in kuwait( my opinion). Everything we ordered was great. They have many option of dishes not just sushi. Cozy dimmed lights and a Clean bathroom. The only issue is the parking. The building has one tiny parking space but it’s almost always full so you’ll have to park on the street. Overall would done again but I’ll have someone drop me off.

Asian fusion restaurant
Restaurant
White Robata, located at Sheikh Jabel Al Ahmad Cultural Centre, offers a minimal take on Japanese culinary with its delicious array of flavors in each innovative dish. The restaurant is known for its slow-grilled food items over hot charcoal, providing a dynamic vibe and exceptional dishes like shrimps and grilled meat. While some found the atmosphere a bit loud, the top-notch service and high-quality food make it worth the visit.
Food is excellent. There is a variety, a mix between Asian and Kuwaiti flavors. The rice was good. Service is quick. We got lucky with seating. Overall I really liked it and would come back again.
Azzam A — Google review
We had quite a wonderful dining experience at White Robata. The food is good and and well presented. The portion is a bit small though. The ambiance of the place is exquisite. It looks really spacious too. The service is good and commendable as well. Overall it is a must try restaurant here in Kuwait.
Patricia C — Google review
Recommend to book a week in advance and they will only hold your table for 15 minutes. The food was splendid! This is where you go to have a culinary experience! The service was prompt. Only negative is that the place was very loud.
Hannah U — Google review
It is one of the best high quality fine dining experience. You will get in kuwait. I'm really surprised that how this place doesn't have any Michelin star. I had recommend this place very much in my opinion. This restaurant's supposed to be one of the places that you should visit when you come to kuwait.
Essa A — Google review
Although it’s summer (May) they have outdoor seating and it was actually full. We sat indoors but the AC is quite weak & the door was opened, so all the heat was inside. Place was busy and waiters were efficient and quick. Food was overall average. The maki rolls shrimp and salmon were the best. Mushroom short ribs rice was also good. Wagyu burger was not wow. And the wagyu tenderloin steak was also average, given its price. Creme brulee was disappointing the layer of cream was sooo thin so the ratio between the crispy sugar and cream was not right. Music is too loud & more table light would be better. Parking underground and plentiful. Seats are very comfy and spacious.
Artificially S — Google review
White Robata never disappoints ,everything was amazing, as always. The kale and quinoa salad was fresh and flavorful, a perfect light start to the meal. The broccolini was also delicious, though a bit spicier than expected — something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to heat. Now, the stars of the night: the short rib mushroom and wagyu sando. Both were absolutely incredible. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender with deep, rich flavors, and the mushrooms added the perfect earthy balance. The wagyu sando … Next-level. Perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside pure indulgence.🤤 The service was excellent throughout. Attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. My only complaint: it’s still really hard to get a table. I’d definitely recommend booking far in advance if you want to avoid a long wait. Overall, White Robata continues to be one of my go-to spots. Great food, great vibe — just wish it were easier to get in!🤍
Fajer H — Google review
White Robata is a refined Japanese dining experience using high-quality ingredients and traditional robata-style cooking. The service is professional, and the atmosphere is clean and modern. I enjoyed the sushi rolls and the omakase platter (fresh sashimi). The black angus tenderloin was soft and had a sweet and savory mix. The matcha crème brûlée was a good way to end it off.
Y Q — Google review
I booked in advance for a special celebration. I expected too much since i heard a lot of good things, but the food is ok, i've tried a looot better asian fusion in Kuwait. Quite overrated to be honest. Service was okay, it's very hard to get the attention of the service staff. The music is confusing as sometimes it's too loud and shuts down randomly.

Lebanese restaurant
Restaurant
Established in 1953 by Edmond Barat, Mais Alghanim is a renowned Lebanese restaurant with a traditional Kuwaiti design and warm atmosphere. It expanded to Mahboula in 2003 and offers delivery services across Kuwait. The menu features a wide variety of Lebanese dishes, including appetizers, salads, soups, and authentic entrees. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh and natural ingredients to create richly flavored continental and traditional Lebanese food and grills.
Nice location and interior, food and service is excellent. Special parking is available for restaurant. The kid zone is also available for toddlers. Separate zone available for smokers. A good place for non-vegetarians but some vegetarian dishes are also available.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience at Mais Alghanim! From the warm ambiance to the authentic Lebanese flavors, everything was spot on. A special thank you to Aminul, our waitress for the evening, who was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. Also, a big shoutout to the Manager, Rawadh, for the thoughtful gesture of a complimentary Lebanese Kunafa – it was the perfect sweet ending to our meal and one of the best we’ve ever tasted! Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Lebanese cuisine with excellent service. Will definitely be back!

This is gem. Good meal in a while with good people. The humus and the falafel go really well together. We all had ordered different meals so we can try the taste among ourselves. End up being the best ideas for the breakfast options. The personnel are friendly and made really great suggestions. The cleanliness of the place. It is simply sublime. For decor, there is a children’s playground with amazing animal art. Go as a group as parking is a tad limited.
Amine D — Google review
The food was good overall. We liked everything except the chicken wings which were extremely small. Will come back definitely but would advise you never get the wings. Literally size of an adult thumb! The hummus dishes and all other hot appetiser were exceptional. Service was quick and they were always available for any request even when it was busy. I would recommend bringing your family here as it’s family friendly.

The ambience makes you feel like your not in Kuwait. The service is very good. The staff are very attentive and will quickly pick up on any cues regarding your needs. The food can be classified as 4/5 only because the dessert was pretty disappointing. The main course, starters and other dishes are extremely good. Already been here 3 times and im sure many more to go.

Excellent service and well tasting food. This cozy spot is a great place to meet friends for a meal. Especially when the weather is nice and one can take advantage of the outdoorbseating. It is very popular among vegetarians, but they also have options for carnivores like myself.

The place is so cozy. The food is also great. You may need to do a reservation as it gets full most of the time especially during dinners.

1st Time I went to Ovo: The atmosphere was comfy, cozi, and fresh. The food was great over all. I loved the Wild Mushroom Pizza and I didn't like the Mujadra Salad. I will definitely go try out some more dishes next time I'm there. The service was ok. 2nd Time I went to Ovo: The service was better. I ordered the zucchini pizza but I didn't like it due to having the taste of the cheese being more dominant than the zucchini. I also ordered the Mango Lemonade juice which was good. The weather and their constant change in decorating the outdoor area was just what I needed though 💚 I lost count: The Marra Kesh Bowl was insanely good!
Muneera H — Google review
All food was yummmmmy 🥰 I only didnt like Apple pancake w Avocado. The service was great, staff are friendly and helpful. The owner was there but didnt have chance to say hi. I saw one Chief and said Thank You. I like to do that when I have a chance as without their skills and efforts we wont be enjoying our meals 💙 The location is close to Design District mall or in the mall itself. You can park in the basement of the mall and then take the Escelator up, the door will be right in front of you. The decor is eye pleasing and you need reservation 👍🏼 I would go back again and also for other meals. Thank OVO

The chic interiors featuring Italian marble, brass, and herringbone wood make it a great spot for brunch, dinner, or late-night snacks.
One of the best brunch experiences I’ve ever had! We loved the ancho & cocoa, the cornflakes croquette, and the CR signature hot chocolate. They even surprised us with a giant cinnamon roll — such a treat! Everything was perfect — the food, the service, and the ambience. I visited last week, but I still can’t stop thinking about how good it was.

This café-restaurant is really delicious, and whenever I am in Kuwait, it is always worth a visit. However, it is often difficult to get a table because it is very popular. Everything tastes great, and the way they present the food is also very appealing.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cocoa Room for brunch, and it was an exceptional experience! The restaurant itself is modern and chic, with a classy atmosphere that instantly impressed me. Despite being quite busy around 11 am, we were seated within 5 minutes, which was a welcome surprise. Beyond the food and atmosphere, Cocoa Room offers a whole experience. The exhilarating vibe is infectious, and it's clear that the staff takes pride in creating a memorable dining experience for each guest. Overall, I highly recommend Cocoa Room for anyone seeking a modern, classy, and delicious breakfast or brunch. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience you won't soon forget!
