Venna Lake is a delightful recreational spot nestled in the picturesque Mahabaleshwar region of Maharashtra. This stunning lake offers an array of activities for visitors, including boat rentals that allow you to glide across its serene waters. For those seeking adventure on land, horseback rides are available, providing a unique way to explore the surrounding natural beauty. Rates are little high for boating like 600/- for half an hour. Everything is costly here, all eatables, small games, etc. Good lake which provides drinking water to MAHABALESHWAR. Evening weather is good with fog for boating.

Visited yesterday. This is one the best places in mahabaleshwar. Need to pay entry fees to start journey before this point. After this you need to pay 50/- for parking. Try to visit this place in evening to get a good view of sunset. You can take horse ride, boat ride, game shows, activity games and some tasty food items. Try to take horse ride with photoshoot. . Main market and mapro garden is near from this. Good place for spending time. Boating charge 600 for 4 person for 30min.

Venna Lake is an ideal combination of nature, leisure, and light adventure, making it a must-see destination for families, couples, and solo visitors. There is no entry cost; you only pay for activities like as boats and rides. A tranquil lakeside surrounded by green hills, ideal for wandering, photography, and relaxing. Plenty of parking accessible near the entrance.

⭐ Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Venna Lake, Panchgani is an average tourist spot — good for a one-time visit, but not something you’d want to return to. The lake itself looks nice from a distance, but it’s extremely crowded, especially on weekends. You often have to wait for hours just to get a boat ride, and the entrance area gets very chaotic. During the rainy season, the place becomes filthy and muddy, and the hygiene is below average. The nearby horse stand adds to the mess — the area is dirty and full of people constantly chasing you for rides. They charge around ₹200 for just 500 meters, which is absolutely not worth it. Parking is another headache — very congested and disorganized. Overall, this is just one of those places you visit once to tick it off your list, not for the experience itself.
Ambkumar — Google review
It is one of the most scenic attractions in Mahabaleshwar. Beautiful lake surrounded by hills. Great for boat rides while watching the sunset. We went during May end , so the evening breeze by the lake was so soothing. Gets extremely crowded during peak tourist season. There are ample parking spots, but due to the rush of tourists, it is very difficult to find a parking spot nearby. I have seen families walk a considerable distance from their parking area to reach the lake. It all depends upon whether you get a parking or not , if you have a driver, they may drop you at a distance. Apart from this, the lake vicinity has different activities like boat riding , horse riding, etc, and way too many fast food joints selling all kinds of food and drinks. There are fruit vendors , toy vendors , and so many shop keepers all around. If you just want to sit by the lake and watch the sunset amidst all the cacophony , come a bit early and sit a little away from the main entrance point.
Adj G — Google review
This lake is very beautiful. It would have been much better if there was no rain and fog. Boat ride was thrilling and the fun filled horse riding with my son. Plenty of stalls for street food like corn, tea, etc…

At a distance of 2 Km from Mahabaleshwar Bus Stand, Dhobi Waterfall is an enchanting waterfall on Old Mahabaleshwar -Petit Road. Dhobi Waterfall is placed facing the famous Elphinstone Point. The waterfall is enclosed on all sides with rocks and the water drops down into the Mahabaleshwar Valley and finally meets the Koyna River. Lodwick Point, formerly known as Sydney Point, is a picturesque mountain clearing located about 5 kilometers from Mahabaleshwar's central market. Named after Colonel General Lodwick, the first European to ascend this hill in 1824, it offers stunning sunset views across hills and valleys.
A beautiful breathtaking view. Excellent spot. Easily accessible. Beautiful natural environment. Very clean and we'll maintained. Lovely place to visit.

There is some Road Construction work going on and hence you need to Walk for around 3 kilometres to reach there. But I would advise to take that effort because the view and the scenery it offer at the end is awesome. In the middle you can find some small shops for your refreshment needs. And can also enjoy Horse riding here. Ahead of this pont is the famous Elephant point or the Needle point which is also worth visiting

I honestly can’t express my feelings — the experience is on another level. The fresh air at the top of the mountains, combined with the breathtaking view of the river and mountain range, is something you have to feel in person. Absolutely magical and a must-visit spot

The newly constructed concrete road is not enough to pass 2 sedan cars in opposite direction. This cause heavy traffic & we got to drive in reverse for almost 3kms. One of the cars was almost went down the lane (the lane is 1 feet steep on both sides) Tourists have to be more cautious taking this route, I highly recommend NO to this spot having this road.
Kuzhali K — Google review
Visited on 8/05/2025. Great view.you have to walk for 10/15 minutes to reach the point. Elephant head point is 100 meters ahead. It has also great view.
Pradeep B — Google review
Sunset point in Mahabaleshwar with a view of Pratapgad fort. The point is a short walk from the parking lot and offers gorgeous panoramic views. During and post monsoon, several waterfalls can be seen in the surrounding hills. You can also continue walking ahead for about 10 minutes to reach Elephants head. Vendors offer simple local snacks and beverages. Usually, you will not get any network coverage at this point.
Meanderer — Google review
As a scenic location, this is among the best in Mahabaleshwar. But all the fun is spoiled because of the extremely narrow road leading to the point (up to the parking area that barely accommodates 10 cars, beyond which you must walk). The cement road is narrow and elevated about a foot from ground. You have to drive carefully to avoid either to stop the left wheel from going off the road into the ditch, or rubbing the vehicles coming from the other side. If you are traveling in an expensive car, it's best to avoid this place.
Rajeev D — Google review
It was a beautiful view from the point. The parking is approximately 800 to 900 meters away from the point so you have to walk for like 15 min but the road is great so that's not a problem and both the lodwick point and elephant point are close to each other just like 200 meters distance but elephant point has a greater view of the valley.❤️

Good food, cozy place in the main market. Food was fresh. Good old restuarant vibes. We enjoyed their Brown rice with Dhansak, Pizza and Chicken burger
Rama S — Google review
The service was very poor, the waiter was not keen on taking the order or suggesting and was judgemental. The burger which we paid 600 for a complete waste. It was full of coleslaw and dry chicken patty. The fries were also frozen fries and the atmosphere was claustrophobic.

Amazing food and cozy ambiance with den kind basement sitting. Relished on Parsi style kheema pav, mutton seekh kabab and most favorite mutton dhansak with brown rice with amazing Irish coffee. The staff is warm, welcoming and Gangaram took well care of us. Service is quick and food presentation is also nice. Loved the place and definitely recommended when you are in Mahabaleshwar. The food, ambience, service everything was great. We had lamb shanks which was heavenly. The taste was irresistible. Secondly we had their Paris food, dhansak and brown rice. It was delicious.

We recently visited the Grapevine Restaurant, which had quite a bit of hype surrounding it. However, the ambience didn’t live up to our expectations; it’s a rather small place. We ordered onion rings, which were just okay, and a crab burger that fell short of our hopes. Overall, we’d rate the burger 1/5 as for the price of Rs 930 we would expect something worth the taste.

Had heard about this res from YouTube and decided to visit it while in Mahabaleshwar. We reached there at around 2:45pm and the restaurant closes at 3pm but still the owner was kind enough to let us dine in. Seating area is limited with 2 tables outside some tables on the ground floor and a big family table on top. The ambiance is good tho. We ordered the crispy soft shell crab burger with chips. The quantity was good but the pricing is on the higher side. The burger was delicious with an entire fried crab in it. The service is ok, better to order everything you want at once. Will visit this place again to try out some other dishes.

I had an amazing experience at Peter’s Cafe in Mahabaleshwar! The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was spot on. I tried their grilled starter, which was perfectly cooked with a smoky flavor, served with fresh salad and dip – a great way to begin the meal. The pasta in gochujang sauce was rich, flavorful, and paired beautifully with garlic bread – pure comfort food at its best. I also had their salad, which was fresh, crunchy, and loaded with cheese, croutons, and paneer – refreshing and filling at the same time. To top it all off, the service was warm and friendly, making the whole experience even better. The cozy vibe of the cafe added to the charm, and I genuinely enjoyed every bite. Elsie's Dairy & Bakery, a charming spot in Mahabaleshwar, has been serving delicious treats for over 170 years, making it a must-visit on your trip. Located on the bustling Mahabaleshwar Market road, this bakery stands out with its red brick and wooden structure, a delightful contrast to the modern surroundings. Stepping inside Elsie’s Bakery feels like stepping back in time. The aroma of freshly baked cakes, pastries, and puffs instantly transports you to a different era, leaving you mesmerized. The humble owner, who is often found in the back of the shop, adds to the bakery’s old-world charm. We tried their Banana Walnut Cake and Strawberry Jam Cake, and they were among the best we've ever had. While most bakeries offer items priced between 60-90 INR, the cakes here range from 300-400 INR, offering great value for such exceptional quality. When you visit Elsie’s, you’re not just enjoying delicious treats—you’re tasting a piece of history. Some of their most famous products include Carrot Date Cake, Banana Raisin Loaf, Apple Tart, Chocolate Muffins, Pineapple Muffins, and of course, the Banana Walnut Cake and Strawberry Jam Cake. Best enjoyed with family, friends, or even on a quiet outing with your significant other or kids, Elsie’s Bakery is open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM.

This is a small bakery established in 1849 and is located in the main market of Mahabaleshwar. It's a small but well decorated shop with cakes & pastries on one side and snacks & puffs on the other side stacked. We tried their mawa cake, banana cake which were tasty ( specially the mawa cake). The sausage rolls and patties were good too and is recommended for people visiting this small hill station.

A family run bakery established during the British time by late Mr.D'Souza (originally from Goa). Currently the bakery is run passionately by the 2nd & 3rd generation members of the D'Souza family. It is located in the main market and easy to locate.. Although the name has "Dairy" mentioned, no dairy products are prepared or sold here. At the counter, one will come across Mr.Bevan who is the 3rd generation D'Souza. He is a perfect gentleman and his service, nature , attitude is too good....inshort Bevan is an excellent human being. Thank you Bevan. Coming back to the bakery, a must try is their Carrot and Date Cake, Banana Raisin Loaf, Mava Cake, Jam tarts, Choco chip cookies, ginger biscuit, prawn pattice and Chicken sausage roll. The Nankatai biscuits (felt a bit underbaked) but I loved them and the Fig and Cashew Pie ( less moist) can be considered too. Overall a nice place with lots of goodies to choose from and chat with an excellent host in the form of Mr. Bevan. Price : Reasonably priced for majority of the goodies but felt that it was slightly on the high side for pattice/ rolls only. ( but ok considering a tourist destination and Inline with prices of food in the market) Parking : located in the market, so go on foot. Timings : Tuesdays closed and operates between 10:30 am to 09: 00 pm. Also closed for 3 months during monsoons only. There are benches/ swing in the compound to sit and enjoy the goodies and the market atmosphere . A definite must visit place in mahabaleshwar.

Small but a nice place for sizzlers and othe cuisines. Tried veg and chicken sizzlers. Were very good, bit in the end felt it dry. Fresh lime soda went well with sizzlers.

Sizzler Palace one of the good place for dinner. The ambience is good for evening. The staff is quite humble and understanding. Food quality is decent for the price range. If you like tangy, do try their drunken chicken which is quite tasty with tangy ness. Also do mention your spicy preference. Next what they are famous of their sizzlers. It wasn't quite impressive but yes the taste was decent. I would give them 3.7 for that as the rice was not that tasty the rest veggies and chicken was good. Virgin Mojito was the best of the mocktails, the presentation was good the quantity is good. Blue Lagoon was not that good as it turned it too sweet. 2 Things that personally didn't like about this place. 1. After order it takes about 45-50 mins for your food to arrive. It took almost 20 mins for the mocktails as well. 2. I think the prices are on the higher side. Apart from everything this is the place you don't want to miss.

You will be surprised to find such a good sizzler joint in a place like Mahabaleshwar. Some of the nice selection of sizzler in all types. Veg and non veg. Also they serve in 2 sizes. Small and Large. Which serves 1 and 2 packs. Sizers are really nice and at par with other famous sizzlers places in cities like Pune, but at much affordable prices. Ambience is nice and cozy. They also serve liqors. Also other indian main courses are available. Must visit place in Mahabaleshwar if you are fan of Sizzlers.

Italian restaurant
Farmhouse Bistro Restaurant is a delightful pure vegetarian Italian eatery in Mahabaleshwar, offering wood-fired pizza, pasta, and other Italian dishes. The restaurant provides an airy space with picturesque mountain views. Guests can also indulge in special fruit ice creams made from fresh farm fruits and enjoy drinks at Canvas Restaurant & Bar. Moreover, the restaurant uses its own farm-produced honey to add natural sweetness to its ice creams, beverages, and food items.
What a beautiful hidden cafe this is, located in Dream Land Hotel Mahableswar, very close to the ST stand. We tried their stuffed garlic bread which was freshly baked, seems like they make their bread in house which was absolutely amazing! We opted for their lasagne which was filled with delicious flavors of tomato, veggies and cheese. The best part was the quality of cheese, it was really fresh and delicious. We also paired up with drinks, watermelon mocktail & a virgin mojito! Overall was a very nice experience. Definitely visit this place for their exclusive italian dining experience.

Quality ingredients. Well made. The salads, potato wedges and pizzas are superb (that’s all we could fit in!) they have a proper wood fired oven.

A very cosy and relaxed place with excellent food and drinks. Reasonably priced too. Woodfired dishes are the cherry on top. Please try sweet potato bake.

This bistro is located at very high point and the views are beautiful. The food was really good, we had fire baked pizza and nachos both tastes real good. The menu has a wide variety of Italian food. You won’t find Indian food on the menu. It’s a cozy and romantic place.

Extremely fresh ingredients. It felt like a proper farm to plate setup. The servers were very helpful and helped us made good choices. Not that you would go wrong with any option here. The lasagna and pizzas are fabulous and the freshness of the ingredients just elevates your experience. Highly recommended. Not a place for non veggies though, they just serve vegetarian. We had to finish our meal elsewhere.

Loved the place and its overall atmosphere. Classy and cozy at the same time. Its a pure veg restaurant but the food tastes amazing here... Wood fired pizzas are killer. Just grab an ice cold beer and wood fired pizza, you are set for a hot afternoon. This restaurant is a bit heavy on wallet but who cares if the food and overall experience you are getting is completely kickass.

Visited after 4+ reviews... but big disappointment on the pizza front. Absolutely bland farmhouse special pizza for ₹540+tax. Finished with the help of Tabasco and tomato sauce . None were comparable to authentic Italian pizza. About the atmosphere and service they deserve 5*.

This is an underrated gem of Mahabaleshwar. It's the perfect place to treat your taste buds with awesome food and calm ambience. They serve only veg food with mainly italian food choices. We have been here twice and we look forward to visit again. Their pastas are really awesome. It's never crowded so you get peace of mind while dining. Each and every dish looks perfectly crafted with care for our taste buds.
