It’s an Arabic style tea house with beautiful decoration and all variety of teas. It has milkshakes and cocktails too. Very pleasant place to sit and spend the afternoon with friends. The patio is quite beautiful too.
Lovely decorated and interesting place. Waiters were very inattentive though. Shame as cocktails were great. Location is lovely.
A very lovely and nicely decorated place in a quiet corner of Badajoz. The service is good and there's a wide selection of spirits and teas. The price is certainly on the higher side, considering that we paid € 6 for a regular glass of Martini Vermouth.
It's a very nice place and friendly staff. My pictures don't make justice of the bar.
I really liked the decor and setup of the place. The cocktails were great....tasty and big glasses. One draw back is that they don't offer any wine.
Fabulous place. Well worth a visit, and not especially expensive.
Vau what a place! You have to visit there!!!
I went this place. It is a great restaurant.Out of the place, you can encounter some Arabic figures. And there is a lovely fountain. Its decoration is indeed well-prepared You must go and live it!

Symbol of the city, this gate from 1551 is a main entrance to the old city after crossing from new city via old stone bridge and was a part of the walls surrounded old Badajoz. Must visit indeed.
Nice place to go for a walk. I totally recommend it
You cannot miss it if you walk the famous bridge.
Students and potential tenants STAY AWAY FROM.THIS PLACE. They don't allow you to use the club room. They don't allow pool guests. They don't allow use of the sitting area near the pergola. It's all for show only. They don't even allow one to sit in the lobby!!! Adriana the manager is rude and condescending. The unit owners would be appalled at how tenants are treated so unkind. Avoid this place. Not a good living experience.
Magnificient city gate.
Super friendly security asked us where we came from and welcomed us in a rainy day
beautiful, could be a bit more preserved

Small but interesting museum, entrance is free. The section on the Visigoth period was especially good, with good artefacts and explanation of symbols.
Very interesting museum. Well worth a visit. Free entry was an added bonus. A café inside would have been ideal.
Spain quite possibly has the best Roman Archaeological remains in Europe. The Roman Theatre and others in Merida are spectacular and the Archaeological Museum of Badajoz is superb , give yourself lots of time. The Alcazaba of Badajoz is an ancient Moorish citadel in Badajoz, Extremadura, western Spain. The alcazaba as it now appears was built by the Almohads in the 12th century, although it probably existed from the 9th century, when Badajoz was founded. In the 11th and 12th centuries it was the residence of the rulers of the taifa of Badajoz. It was declared a national monument of Spain in 1931. The Archaeological Museum of Badajoz The museum is located in the city's Moorish Alcazaba (fortress). Inside there are more than 15,000 items on display from archaeological sites around the province. You can see a range of exhibits, from Visigoth architectural items to Moorish ceramics and tombstones, and Roman mosaics. The collection of Bronze Age steles is especially relevant. It is one of the most complete in the Iberian Peninsula. Both the Alcazaba and Archaeological Museum are great places to visit but give yourself a lot of time.
Lovely building and good exhibits esp. pre history. Can leave luggage in free lockers and walk around outside too.
Museum of Badajoz Type: Archaeological Museum Time spent: 20 min Entrance: free Parking: available WC: available
A well managed museum and archeological site. Staff are welcoming. Thank to people of Badajoz who offer free entrance to these treasures.
Museum is quite small, but what surprised me is a good pre-Roman collection.
Don't miss this!

Fun for kids and grown ups.
This is a perfectly adequate water park. About 8 water slides. 2 take dingies. Big swimming pool. Wave pool. Sun loungers can be hired.
Never go to this water park. The life guards blow there whistle at EVERYTHING!!! The park is a mess with limited slides and hidden fees ( i.e. if you want to use the slides that require a rubber ring you need to rent the rubber ring ((about 10 euros for one)) and leave a 20 Euro deposit)!! To sit in the shade theres also a fee!!
It is not one of the most extraordinary water park, but is good enough to spend a good afternoon. Have a list price for all day and another from 4pm. Have a family price to.
Run Down / Dirty / Limited Slides / Life guards whistle at everything.... AVOID
The pools where closed. No water at all. No attractions. Just a terrace for drinks
Not best maintained park, but very cheap.
Good for the discount price! Should open more slides or other atractions for the normal price.

Very visual free smallish museum. Though all displays only in Spanish. First display is last year’s winning costumes. Kids area with press buttons for carnival sounds great fun
Great fun! Don’t miss the interactive fun in the end room - you can superimpose your picture on a dancer, then watch yourself dancing. Daft and wonderful.
Really impressed by the amount of work that goes into just one costume.
Fabulous museum, I would highly recommend.
(Translated by Google) Visiting the Badajoz Carnival Museum was as fun as it was enlightening. I had always heard about the fame of the Badajoz carnival, but wandering through its rooms allowed me to truly understand why it is one of the most emblematic festivals in Extremadura. From the very first moment, the museum enveloped me with its color and energy: costumes, photographs, instruments, and projections combine to tell a vibrant story, full of music, creativity, and popular pride. I loved seeing how each comparsa and murga has its own style, its own identity, and its own way of understanding the festival. The costumes on display are true works of art, crafted with an impressive level of detail. I also enjoyed the interactive spaces, where I could listen to excerpts of songs and feel a bit of that festive atmosphere that floods the streets every February. What surprised me most was discovering how the carnival has evolved over the decades without losing its essence: shared joy, ingenuity, and a critical spirit. I left the museum with a smile and the feeling of having experienced, even if only for a little while, that blend of humor and passion that so perfectly defines the people of Badajoz. It's a place that radiates enthusiasm, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to discover the city's more festive side.

Surprisingly great art museum, with a lot of fantastic local painters.
I went to the museum with my family. The content of the museum was really beautiful, but the constant and very close monitoring of the security made everyone feel unsettled and we all felt like we couldn't even enjoy or focus on the paintings. We couldn't take pictures of the art and security was extremely close watching if we would do anything. We couldn't even scan the QR codes next to the paintings because we didn't want someone going through our phone. It was extremely uncomfortable and I'm glad I didn't have to pay. I won't come back.
Free and with some good artists. Worth the visit!
Excellent exhibits of local prize winning artists. Definitely worth a visit. Free entrance and friendly staff.

If you arrive to Badajoz by train, most probably you'll choose to walk via this bridge to the old city. This 600 m long, historic, 16th century stone bridge was rebuild several times, latest in 1830s will bring you to the entrance to the old city of Badajoz. Bridge is only for pedestrians.
Beautiful bridge over the Rio Guadiana in Badajoz. On our journey from Conil to Bilbao we decided to take some zig zag detours to some of the lesser know places in Spain. First stop was Zafra and then over to Badajoz on the Portuguese border. Badajoz is a place we were very unfamiliar with as it is not on our usual route but it was a wonderful surprise, a really lovely city with many attractions and wonderful history. The fact that it has a great Area Caravanna right on the River Guadiana within walking distance to all the attractions was a real bonus. To get to the city just walk across the beautiful now pedestrian Puerte de Palmas ( 1460 ) with the Hornabeque del Puente de Palmas ( River Fortifications ) on the west bank. This is being restored by the Ayunamiento de Badajoz and will be a small museum when completed. The area around the west bank of the river has a really nice feel to it with a beautiful river walk , parks and playground's. Possibly the best Aire we ever stayed in for a city.
Nature, history and engineering combined around one bridge. Perfect place to walk and admire.
It was scenic walking across the bridge. They have photos that people have taken during the quarantine along the bridge as well, it was really nice
Beautiful historical bridge.
Beautiful bridge to the city centre of Badajoz.
While crossing from Portugal to Spain by bus, I passed right by the beautiful Puente de Palmas. Seeing this historic stone bridge stretching over the river with the old town behind it was such a breathtaking moment. Even from a distance, the view was stunning — full of history and charm.

(Translated by Google) It's truly remarkable to find this tower here. It's a fairly faithful replica (in terms of shape) of the Giralda, but in red and smaller, of course. I don't know if you can climb it, but from below it's nice to take a few photos. (Original) La verdad que es muy curioso encontrarse esta torre por aquí. (Translated by Google) Convento de San José’s ancient monastery at night Pl. San José, 06001 Badajoz The convent has the same name as the square, since there is the site (especially on its ruins) of the ancient monastery of San José, a very important saint of Badajoz since the time of Alfonso IX of Leon, who even had him saint. He was the patron saint of the diocese for centuries until he was replaced by the current patron saint of the diocese, St. John. History and style of the Monastery of San José: The Monastery of San Jose Pilgrim is a Neo-Gothic building (appeared at the end of the 18th century and was inspired by the Gothic of the Middle Ages), an architectural style that has almost no remains in the area, making it even more unique if possible. Its location is also striking, as it is between the streets of San Anton and Suárez de Figueroa and between Plaza San José and Alcazaba de Arabia, giving it the appearance of a large naval building arriving on the coast . This pilgrim's monastery, although built on the ruins of an old monastery, has a fairly modern date (1917) in historical terms, but it retains treasures and details that are as important as the church and nothing more than the restoration of the old monastery owned later. The convent was rededicated to San José because it was the site of the convent and as a result of one of the most important historical events of the city of Badajoz: the reconquest of the city under the power of Badajoz. Muslim, built on 19 March 1230 by a section of Alfonso IX of Leon. This ancient monastery was built on the site where the monastery stands today until the 19th century, when the war of independence broke out and the bombings suffered were so extensive that they ended the centuries-old monastery The hospital never recovered from its deterioration. Francisco Franco Pineda, a popular local Seville military engineer and architect, was responsible for designing the building, along with teacher Adel Pinna Casas. A monastery. In addition to the chapel, the main facade of the monastery is also striking, simple if somewhat small in style, consisting of a pointed arch with a design by Julio Clivilles Relief of baby Jesus and two angels. A rose window, Gothic roof and bell tower with bells complete the building. The vault covering the abbey church is semi-cylindrical with a semicircular dome, very much in the style of Gothic and its ribbed vaults. The exterior has many decorative elements such as spiers, gargoyles and bas-reliefs, many of which are now lost. Unfortunately, over time, the government's negligence in restoring its artistic and architectural heritage, and the inability of the faithful to afford adequate conservation and renovation, means that this monumental building is at its worst. Admirers have repeatedly addressed the community through different media, denouncing the situation and asking for immediate help to protect a heritage that should not disappear. In 2006, a series of landslides occurred but were barely addressed as the budget was only allocated to repairing the three main facades. However, this does not eliminate the slightest interest in the must-see attractions of Badajoz, as this cult building remains a great interpretation of Extremadura's history and a gateway to its deepest and most Christian roots.

According to the Badajoz tourism page: "The Convent of the Adorers of San José is a neo-Gothic building (emerged at the end of the 18th century and inspired by the Gothic of the Middle Ages), an architectural style of which there are hardly any remains in the area, which makes it an even more unique building if possible." Good museum with very good explanation of the worker. The monsters of the choir of the Cathedral must be seen.
