Such fun. Perfect size for a couple hours of investigating. The castle was impeccably maintained and absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The cafe was delicious and well priced with plenty of options. The gardens were also nice and the hot food selections there were great. Good place for kids/families. We had a great time wandering around!
A gorgeous castle with a fascinating history—definitely worth a visit! The views are breathtaking, and the staff are warm and welcoming. I also had the chance to join a Quidditch lesson, which was so much fun (even tho it’s serious business!). Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience :)))”
This castle is in a different league! The rooms are extremely ornate, great portraits, fantastic ceilings and amazing fireplaces. A shame that indoor photography was not allowed. It is lived in. The views outside are wonderful , also great exhibits of armoury and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. A 'must see' for all.
We visited with our whole family and had an amazing time! We bought our tickets in advance and came just 2 days before the season ended. The staff were fantastic — even with some power issues, they handled everything smoothly and still made the experience great for everyone. The weather was perfect, the history of the castle is incredible, and the broomstick flying activity was a big hit with the kids! A beautiful place full of charm and stories. Highly recommend visiting Alnwick Castle!
Stunning place to visit. Fun for all the family. Plenty to do and see. It's amazing to know that the family still live there during the public closing time and during the winter. The rooms are beautiful and awe-inspiring. I wish my physical media collection looked like their library. The grounds are great and we even got to learn how to fly our broomsticks. Well worth a visit. The dragon area was a great addition too, well thought out. Lots of toilets and multiple gift shops.
Gorgeous castle! For Harry Potter fans, this is where the famous broomstick flying scene from the first movie was filmed! There are talks and events throughout the day regarding the magical side of the castle as well as more traditional evens like weapons and armor talks, soap making and a fun dragon quest! A place with rich history and enjoyability for all ages! 10/10 highly recommend
Best intact and still working castle visited. Kids had an amazing time dressing up in medieval costumes, making soap and learning to fly on broomsticks. The adults had an amazing experience with seeing and hearing all the history with very informative guides and information displays.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this castle. It’s beautifully maintained, with a wide range of activities and guided tours that kept me engaged throughout the day. I ended up spending the entire day exploring.

Beautiful gardens, we went on a Sunday as at the moment they allow dogs on a Sunday and Thursday only, to see the poison garden you have to do the tour as not allowed in on your own which is understandable, very interesting so well worth it, roughly every 30 minutes. £3.50 for the car park which is all day but there is a free carpark 10 minute walk away by Morrisons.
We first came here 16 years ago and always wanted to come back when we saw the Gardens were to be expanded. An amazing attraction in a beautiful town in Northumberland. The admission is reasonably priced and the highlight for us was the "Poison Garden" and our guide was amazing, entertaining and informative. There is an excellent cafe and restaurant as well. Please visit here.
First time visiting & was in October. So all the plants were dieing off which was inevitable for this time of year but nether the less we had a brilliant day. The waterfall feature is stunning. The tour round the poison garden was great. We had fun in the crazy golf. Had a lovely walk round the gardens & the different water fountains. Will definitely be returning in spring to swing in the cherry trees. Amazing day out. Well worth a visit.
What a fantastic day out! Alnwick Garden is even more impressive in person. The sheer variety of plants is incredible, and the displays, especially the stunning water features, are amazing. I particularly enjoyed the unique Poison Garden tour, which was both entertaining and educational. It's a must-see for anyone in the area!
Lovely day out. I purchased the annual ticket which is well worth the money. We've visited a few times and it's always a great time, all parts of the garden are lovely. The bamboo labyrinth is very cool! Even the food is good!
The water cascade feature looks impressive, especially so when all the fountain jets are active. Unfortunately most of the time there are no active fountain jets, or only a few are active for a short period. I saw the majority or all the fountain jets active whilst I was having lunch in the cafe, but despite several subsequent attempts to get a video recording of all fountain jets working on a couple of occasions during the afternoon it didn't happen again which is very disappointing. The ornamental garden above the cascade is attractively laid out with trees providing additional height to the hedges around each flower bed. Near the bottom of the cascade is a hedged maze like area with multiple interesting water features. The poison garden can only be accessed by guided tour which was very informative and interesting. The cafe serves a good selection of hot and cold food, drinks and cakes and is well laid out. I would recommend visiting, but I think the adult entrance fee is excessive. Although I w
A lovely garden great for all generations. We went when the blossom trees were out and it was beautiful. My daughter and I also had an afternoon tea which was delicious. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting.
A good value day out (£18 online for adults), + £3.50 car park, if you take your own picnic. Poison garden tour included in ticket price. Ornamental garden and water gardens great. Bit disappointed that the largest 'tree house' is a restaurant and the 'potting shed' is a café. However, on a nice day of weather, as it was, very pleasant. Good activities for children, if you have them.

June 17th 2025 visit. English Heritage - free for members. Just a stunning location for a castle - one of the best castles to visit on a good sunny and windy day! Park near Dunstan Steads instead of Craster - and walk alongside the beautiful golf course. Some incredible history attached to this castle so get a guide book and find a sheltered place to sit and learn...! Brilliant all round. 5 out of 5.
A lovely coastal walk to get up to the castle takes around 20-30 minutes from the harbour depending on how fast you walk. The views from the castle and on the walk up are stunning. The castle doesn't have a great deal left but you can get up the main tower and the views from the top are fantastic. The staff were great and informative. One told us that you can sometimes see dolphins off the coast. There are toilets on site. You will need to park on the road leading in to the coastal town and walk up to the castle.
Undoubtedly one of the finest English Heritage sites to visit in the country. Stunning position on the cliffs and the castle ruins are visible for miles. You can walk from Craster (just over a mile), but we approached from Dunstan Steads (under a mile). Excellent views of the birds on the cliffs. At the castle the cliffs are mainly fenced off but there are warning signs of the sheer drop. Terrific views from the top of the castle - care needed on the spiral staircase though. There are toilets , and a small English Heritage shop - very helpful staff. Definitely worth making the effort to visit.
I’ve wanted to visit Dunstanburgh Castle since I was a nipper and finally got to visit in October 2025. It didn’t disappoint. Bonus it’s dog friendly but there is cattle/sheep on the section between Craster and the castle itself. Nice ruins to wander around with stunning views. We paid £6.80 each, discount for booking online before going. Not enough signage about the history, probably want to sell you a guidebook for £4.50 instead. We extended the walk by taking our dog down to Embleton Bay afterwards. A great half day out.
Lovely Spot and Stunning Views!
We parked at the Craster car park — really convenient, with payment options by card, cash, or app. It’s just a short walk to the beachfront from there. Once you reach the shore, you can take a scenic walk to the castle (about 40–45 minutes). The views along the seafront are absolutely stunning — a pure joy for the soul.
Lovely walk to the castle from Craster to see the ruins of the castle. The Dunstanburgh Castle is in hands of English Heritage but it's owned by National Trust so it's free entry for NT members too. The staff made some sarcastic comments about NT when they checked our passes but the rest of the staff were nice and friendly. The castle is situated in a very windy spot but if you go on tower the views are absolutely stunning. There are some benches and tables available in the yard, toilets available too but no running water.
Lovely place to visit. Staff were really friendly, well-maintained, and not too busy. Just mind out that it's a reasonably long walk from the car park if you have a toddler with you!
Fantastic castle. Beautiful ruins of a once majestic castle. The site and the grounds are gorgeous, the drama of the setting cannot be overstated. Easy parking although about 30 minute walk across fields to the castle: generally flat ground and a pathway to keep to for ease. Wish I lived locally so I could go more often.

Absolutely fabulous place, could have spent much longer there. The grounds are well kept and signposted. A map showing where the benches are, for those less able was a bonus. The guide supplied free of charge was descriptive and useful. The house has two completed rooms which are beautiful. The cafe was excellent as well as the staff. Recommend a visit to this too.
It was really interesting to learn about how they had developed the hall and gardens over time. The gardens were lovely to walk round and the woodland walk we did was very peaceful. Excellent tea room, with a great selection of tea, of course, and gluten free cakes.
Beautiful garden and arboretum well worth a visit. We spent most of the day there including lunch in the tea rooms. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area.
We visited in mid September on a rainy day. The house only has a few downstairs rooms open for touring. It is self guided but the rooms all have booklets detailing the items and the paintings. the front of the house is filled with facts regarding the house and the gardens. The chapel was well worth seeking out as it featured hand made kneelers that were designed and stitched by volunteer organizations. Each one was unique and I found them to be quite delightful. There was a map with details of the gardens that we could explore. We walked through a few of them, but most of the blooms had died out by mid September. I imagine that they are magnificent in the spring and summer. If you want to enjoy tea in the tea room you must bring cash.
I’ve had a season ticket for Howick Hall gardens for many years. It’s wonderful in every season and has so many interesting features. A beautiful Hall, fabulous gardens especially the Lady Garden and Silverwood woodland garden. There are superb arboretums on the East and West of the Hall with some rare and interesting shrubs and trees. The Long Walk takes you to the coast. Highly recommended at any time of year from the early Spring with the Snowdrop Walks, through Spring with the woodland garden at its peak and Autumn with beautiful colours and berries galore. The tea room is brilliant too with a great selection of meals and cakes. If you’re choosing a garden to visit in Northumberland I’d go to Howick every time.
Beautiful gardens and arboretum with an incredible variety of trees and flowering shrubs and plants. Could certainly support repeat visits to experience all the delights this wonderful woodland surrounded stately home has to offer. The tea rooms housed in part of the East Wing overlooking some of the gardens are also worth a visit (or two) with a great range of lovely fresh food (including very tasty Earl Grey Tea Loaf) of high quality and delightful and friendly staff. So many different places around the grounds to explore - particularly recommend the sensory garden, and the bog garden but see what you like the most. What a magical place!
This is a quiet hidden oasis in Northumberland which in contrast to Alnwick Gardens is not busy, relaxed and almost all flat. We love Alnwick Gardens but this is just so beautiful and quiet that it's worth the £12.10 entry cost. You could easily spend a whole day here including a lovely lunch in the tearoom. Highly recommend this lovely spot.
Absolutely stunning gardens. Third time visiting and it's always an absolute pleasure. House is beautiful and definitely worth spending time there. The tea rooms are a must! Lovely staff, really good lunch selection and the cakes!!!!!! Delicious.

We stopped for a couple of beers at the end of a day's walking before the minibus arrived. It's set in a beautiful horseshoe shaped set of fisherman cottages around a green looking right over the coast. What a fantastic location!!!! Staff friendly and happy to explain the history, very relaxed ambience, local beer, seating inside ( if its cold) and outside in the sun on benches chairs and on the lawn (obvs)
Excellent pub in one of the most beautiful little fishing hamlets on the NE coast. Friendly service, decent range of beers (including their own micro brewery), and sitting out on the green facing the sea is amazing. They usually have pub meals, but when we visited they only had a barbie offered, but the food was delicious!
A wonderful wee pub in a stunning Hamlet. Great pies, sandwiches, and salads. They brew their own ales, which are excellent. It is very dog friendly and just a few metres from a stunning beach. A superb watering hole for Northumberland coast hikers.
Fab pub right by the beach. Great choice of real ales, got it's own brewery, if you can grab a table outside in the sun we'll you've made it 😊☀️🌞
Quite a small pub but served absolutely fantastic crab sandwiches so if you can then try to find a seat. Would be nice if they served chips but I can understand why they don't. Really lovely location.
Cosy 18th C pub by the shore....tables outside.....inside not a lot of space so people seem to get there early and the queue can be out the door! What they produce from the tiny kitchen and bar is amazing Dogs are allowed inside. Food is tasty but no frills...just excellent ingredients simply cooked....no desserts but there was an amazing fruit cake on the bar which had to be tried! You have to try the crab stottie this close to the sea ...its scrummy.
Lovely place to stop when walking from Craster to Seahouses along the coast. Very welcome Three sheets to the wind ale. Very memorable walk and lunch stop.
A lovely pub in a fabulous spot. Was doubtful that the food would be good... but it was brilliant some really good, surprising choices and quick to arrive... I don't know how they do it in such a small place. Well worth the visit. Almost on the beach so good for a walk after your meal.

Is a beautiful, clean beach that feels calm and natural. The sand is soft, and the views of the sea are really lovely. It’s a great place to go for a quiet day out. You can walk along the beach and through the small village nearby. The fresh air and peaceful views make it a nice spot to relax and enjoy nature. Highly recommend it for a gentle walk and a break from a busy life.
I absolutely loved Alnmouth beach, a beautiful expanse of sand and great walk up the estuary too.
Excellent sandy beach. £3.50 to park for the day right by the beach. Expect an ice-cream van on sunny days.
A great beach to walk along via the cute village, such a beautiful spot to take in the views, see the sea, breathe in the fresh air - recommended for a day out and relaxing walk. You might meet some cute dogs too 🐕
Gorgeous beach, really interesting and unique wildlife and plants. Inspiring and tranquil.
Clean beautiful beach glorious views , great for walking your doggies and plenty of places to park
Stunningly beautiful and natural with lovely sands and sea views, with a small harbour just inside the mouth of the River Aln. From the car park by the beach (£2 charge) you can walk straight onto the sands. As you walk south along the beach you can see Alnmouth nestled behind the sand dunes. Keep walking along the beach to reach the mouth of the River Aln and follow it past the small harbour to reach the road up into the town. Such a wide array of beauty and variety to see.
Gorgeous clean, beautiful beach. Car park has an attendant who you pay with a card on the way in. There aren't any toilets that I could see (although there is a sign saying toilets) but if you are interested in a beach with golden sand for both building sandcastles and playing beach volleyball, crystal clear waters and good waves, then this beach is perfect! The car park runs along the front so you don't have to walk far from your car either!

Beautiful clean sands with no toe breaking pebbles. Really flat walking out into the very clean sea. Looks more like a tropical sea stretches on for miles.
What a beautiful place! We walked along from the golf course, be careful, there were quite a few golfers yelling 'Fore' at us! ... the view of Dunstanburgh Castle is awesome and so is the ancient volcanic rock formation on the beach ...well worth a visit...
Nice beach, very clean. Able to walk to Dunstanburgh castle from the beach was nice and could even walk to a raster along a public footpath.
Special Beach, great waves and atmosphere even in bad weather (Dunstaburgh Castle looks weenie in mist and rain which is awesome for photos). Clean yet dog friendly.
One of the most lovely beaches in the UK. Golden sandy beach, beautiful Crystal clear waters, fascinating rock pools, panoramic views of Dunstenburgh Castle. A hidden gem xx
Lovely clean beach with a small car park, great for a walk with or without dogs. We had ours and he loved it.
We accessed Embleton Bay via Dunstan Steads which is basically a road available to park on for free, there’s also an ice-cream van that is usually parked at the bottom of the road. From there it’s a short walk to Embleton Bay & a lovely sandy beach, access is via a short path but it is through soft sand so it’s something to bear in mind. The beach affords sweeping views of the glorious Northumberland coast & Dunstanburgh Castle, also the beach is unspoiled & like all the other local beaches is spotless. Dog-friendly and not too many people about makes for a pleasurable walk at any time of year.
Nice beach, lots of geese today. Quite an accessible beach which is great, although makes it a little busier than others do depends what you want.

A fantastic museum with a wealth of historical artifacts and exhibits
Was a lovely museum, reasonable priced. Loads of interactive things for the kids to do. Recommend if your spending time in the castle or gardens to not over look the little gem. Staff are so friendly and very informative.
A smashing little museum over three floors (disabled lift available) Lots on the history of Alnwick, lots of hands on things for the kids and a changing art exhibit on the top floor.
Hidden gem. Great art space upstairs. Museum good for kids. Activities etc. No cafe.
Nice place for a rainy morning with the kids. They enjoyed the trail, and the museum was nice. The lady on the desk was very welcoming.
Excellent museum. Brilliant interactive exhibits for children. Fascinating local history.
Totally loved this, today. Its hosting the worst lp sleeves, exhibition! It truly held up its word by having them all on display. Honestly some of them were so funny, some were odd and some were just downright distubing! Such a fun day out. Lovely place to go.

This is a lovely place with three main walks which are mostly on tarmac or compressed gravel roads through the woods and along the river. We chose the circular red route three which took us to Hulme Abbey which is a marvelous place and famous for its role is Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. No public vehicles, bicycles or dogs are allowed in the park which allows you to enjoy the peace and splendor of the place. Be warned, there is also no cafe or toilets in the park and the walks can take several hours to complete. Well worth a visit if you enjoy walking.
Beautiful park to walk around, various pathways to explore with various gradients but nothing too difficult. No dogs allowed and the park is open 11 until 4 pm, no public toilets. A real gem. There is a priory in the park that you can enter and have a look around. The park is immaculate and well maintained.
Free parking on the road to the entrance Be mindful that there is no cycling, no dogs and you must stay on one of the three designated paths You cannot visit other parts of the park if they are not on the path, however there is plenty to see within the grounds. Parkland, Gothic tower, lovely views and good walking. Hulne Park extends over 3000 acres within a walled enclosure. The Park consists of estate forestry, farm and sawmills. In the midst of Hulne Park there is a Priory (Carmelite), Brizlee Tower built in 1781 and Alnwick Abbey
Stunning walk. We did the blue route which is about 6.5 miles. Autumn colours of the trees were worth the walk alone but also being able to look round the Priory (red and blue routes) I felt incredibly lucky to be allowed in and see the ruins. We loved this walk (there are also 4 (yellow) and 4.7 mile (red) routes as well) Paths are all gravel / roads so great in all weathers. No dogs allowed which is fair enough as there are so many pheasants and deer. We did this walk on a drizzly day and loved every minute. We will be back :)
Great place for a relaxed circular walk through a privately owned rural estate. Sensibly, dogs aren’t allowed because of the proximity to grazing farm animals, so ignore the one and two star reviews. The pleasure is in the well maintained paths, peaceful rural spaces and scenery. No dogs, playgrounds, cycling, toilets or cafe. That’s its charm.
Large park / farmland on the outskirts of Alnwick with picturesque walks through. Free to visit ! Free parking along the access road, or a 5 minute walk from the town centre.
No cycling. No dogs. Lovely walks, colour coded to show the route. Suggested times/number of miles. Not too far from Alnwick Castle & Gardens. Pheasants are common in the grounds. We saw a heron & deer. We walked the RED ROUTE, which is almost 5 miles, taking in the hilltop priory ruins. There are pretty bridges, including stone, timber, steel suspension, and an iron bridge dating back to 1812. There are numerous gravel paths that make this venue unsuitable for wheelchair users. Take your own food & drink. Staff work around the estate on quad bikes & ranger style vehicles. We started our walk at 11am & completed the route just after 4pm, which is when the park closes to the public. (late August 2023)
Beautiful historic parkland ..NOT A PUBLIC PARK , as some people think it is. Don't miss it if you're visiting Alnwick. No cars or dogs allowed which is great . Makes for a peaceful walk without the scurge of lazy dogowners and their poobags .

The cafe is cool with a small but delicious offering of biscuits snd snacks. Not much seating inside but there are seats outside, so wrap up if you’re visiting in the colder months. Worth a visit!
Wonderful contemporary art collection. Many local artists. Unusual cards books stationery too. Fabulous coffee and eats. But nowhere nice to enjoy these. Outside space in need of a lot of tlc
Great place for coffee and cake as well as exhibiting art by local artists. Also, prints, cards and other assorted items to buy. Friendly service, tables available inside and out.
We visited for coffee and cake (both highly recommended) and a walk around the gallery. There is some interesting art to purchase and lovely stationery items in the cafe area. There is a nice garden area too. The gallery is just up from the main street in Alnmouth and definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful art gallery with an exhibition space and a schedule of temporary exhibitions. They sell fantastic art works here, that use a range of media, and they also sell some really special screen printed cards. There’s a small coffee shop with very good selection of drinks and snacks. Totally worth a visit.
We visited today and omg the gallery has so much to offer. The owners are lovely, loved our dogs and was very kind to us, you made our day - thank you again. I definitely recommend that you visit here. It’s a gem of a find.
Variety of artwork for different tastes and pockets. Outdoor seating nice idea but not the weather for it. OK for a drink but nothing more substantial on offer when we went.
Great gallery and cafe serving tea, coffee and cake, with indoor and outdoor seating. Well worth browsing the exhibitions and shop. Lovely gifts and original art. Limited parking available on the street and nearby in Alnmouth. Dog friendly also. Pizza van is open on certain dates.

Tonight me and Star took a nice walk to Edlingham Castle, Star loves exploring castle ruins. Would never have found this place if I wasn't an English Heritage Member. Nice ruins and great little area to explore.
Unexpected find while driving back from Alnwick. There is a small car park, and a short walk down past the church to the castle. The path and field around the castle can be boggy, so wear good shoes - almost lost one of my trainers to the mud. Pretty views and free to access. And quiet - we were the only visitors on the day we stopped by. Plenty of information on site as well.
Scenic castle ruins that are free to visit. There is a small carpark near the church and then it’s a short walk to the castle. The church is open to visitors and has information about the castle. The castle doesn’t take long to wander around but looks scenic against the backdrop of the hills and the viaduct.
Fabulous castle ruin in a beautiful setting. Not easy to walk through as very uneven. Dogs are welcome but keep them on a lead...a couple of sheep had escaped and were wandering about. Lots of info in the church next door.
Nice for a quick visit to have a look around. Great views and interesting history. Few parking spots just a couple of minutes walk from the castle. Would recommend but only for a quick visit.
A beautiful spot. 11th century church on the side of a beautiful ruin. A real good explore for kids. Rife with history and views, Norman remnants in the church and plenty of information displayed. Well worth a visit if nearby, 6 mile out of Alnwick and not too far from Chillingham castle. A very peaceful place...maybe a little eerie!
Parking available outside the church. Free entrance and 2mins walk to the castle. Dogs welcome on leads. The church is also worth spending some time in. Excellent views of the castle and viaduct from the churchyard.
Enjoy this not overcrowded castle ruin and some free parking outside church, spent some time there enjoying the peace

Considering everywhere else was like a quagmire, Foxton was as dry as sticks, always impressed whenever we played here, beautiful links course right on the beach, although it does have the feel of a Parklands Course. Excellent 👍
Stopped by for breakfast, and was not disappointed. Friendly bar staff were attentive , providing pager to alert me of my breakfast order being ready . If you eat outside ( weather allowing ) , you will need your own cutlery , condiments, and napkins. Drinks are provided via a pre-purchased token for a machine in the foyer . A dog friendly bar / restaurant ( which is always a plus + ) . Welcoming and friendly .
Lovely place to visit 😊. The hotel, food and a lovely golf course with spectacular views as you play the course. We had rooms without bathrooms so you share a bathroom with a few other rooms. We have booked rooms with ensuite for next year. Our room looked over the 18th green and you could see the sea in the distance. We played the course twice. The first day is was very windy and extremely difficult for me. It was calmer the second day and enjoyed my golf much more 😊. The food was amazing and we had fast and friendly service. Looking forward to visiting and playing golf here many more times I hope. Excellent ⛳️
A group of eight us have stayed in Newcastle and played the local courses for a number of years. This was our 2nd year in succession playing the seniors open here and was just as enjoyable as last year. The course is a splendid setting in great condition again. A very warm and friendly welcome. We also dined after the golf and the food and service were both excellent. Would highly recommend.
A little gem. Really enjoyed Alnmouth golf course. Well presented and wonderful coastal views. Well worth a visit. Welcoming bar in Dormy House after round.
One of my favourite courses to play! The course is in tremendous condition, the greens played brilliant and the bar staff where really friendly in the club house which had a cracking pint of Guinness! Would highly recommended!
What a cracking course! Very well presented course and great mixture of holes
Always a warm welcome. The golf course was in great condition. Its a pleasure to play

Beautiful place with attractions as a beautiful castle, gardens and walkable market town. I went on Thursday and the market was busy with stalls. Lots of art, lovely homemade scones, owls show and on the other hand, lots of history with walls, fountains, river walks and plenty of car spaces free and £3 at the entrance of the town near the castle.
Good range of stalls with friendly stall holders. Definitely worth a browse if you are in the area.
Lovely Market to visit especially for the Caribe Coffee van. Serving one of the best tasting takeaway coffees I've had in a while. - Single estate Honduran coffee, with a lovely back story. Well worth coming back for.
Alnwick – Where Medieval Legends Meet Modern Life This morning we had the chance to explore Alnwick, a Northumberland gem where history and community come together beautifully. From wandering through the lively market square, filled with artisan stalls and the hum of local life, to stepping under the arch of Pottergate Tower, every corner told a story. One highlight was standing before the statue of Harry Hotspur, Alnwick’s legendary knight whose fiery spirit inspired Shakespeare and whose name still resonates centuries later. What struck me most wasn’t just the history, but the vibrancy of the town today – independent shops, friendly faces, and a sense of pride that made it feel alive and welcoming. Alnwick is more than a stop on the map; it’s a reminder of how communities can honour their past while thriving in the present. And it’s certainly somewhere I’ll return to again.
Waste of a trip. Hand full of stalls took 2 mins to walk around. Wouldn’t even class it as a market. Update reply: Well there absolutely was not 38 stalls ha no where near 😂 I never mentioned anything about the stall holders quality of stall or what they sold, so don’t twist things. Clearly an organiser who can’t take criticism.
Lovely town and market. Some beautiful 3d pictures, retro tiles and Some fab cafes and the tastiest was market the bratwurst for me and venison burger for the hubby. Beautiful place to visit. Enjoyed the castle too.
The market goes from strength to strength, with each passing month, it has very diverse stall holders, great food available, from olives, and dolmades, to fantastic chocolate brownies, and we also have fabulous fruit and vegatables on a Saturday as well as homemade jams, pickles and chutneys, by the award winning Mad Jam Woman, homemade soaps, lip bapms and dog shampoo by Anne Marie at the Alnwick Soap Company and a brilliant chap called Richard who is an amazing photographer, he leads others can only copy and follow also a local author who will sign her books.
Loved this little craft Market. Such lovely stalls with some unusual items and gifts. Really pleasant stall holders.

Absolute gem of a course, typical old links style out and in - greens and fairways great condition especially for January, very enjoyable with great views over the town and along the North Sea coast.
Not a golfer but was made very welcome. Lovely place to have a drink and food. Lovely bacon butty and french fries. Good prices and good sized portions. Staff very friendly. Quiet and relaxing
Great location at seaside links course. Only 9 holes but fairly challenging. Greens VERY tricky which protect the fairly short course. Beware coming down from 7tb tee! Although a great view, it's a steep and long descent.
Trying to park in Alnmouth village is a nightmare. The best car park is the beach car park. To get to it you drive through the road between the golf course- beware of flying golf balls! Drive right to the far end of the car park & you will find the path to the golf club, the town & public toilets. It's about 200yds. There is a long, narrow sandy beach, so you don't have to go far to the water, but the river Aln joins the sea, so if you fancy a dip, take great care. There is a wide wooden boardwalk down to the beach further along the path. When you get to the end of the path, you will find picnic tables & the golf club where you can purchase drinks & some food. There are public toilets here too. There aren't any toilets down at the beach. There is also a short walk into the town from here. The beach is dog friendly & it looks like a favourite walk for you & your furry friend. The golf course is 9 hole & you can sit on a bench & enjoy watching the golfers.
Absolutely lived playing this course. Mind the cars arriving and leaving the car park. Food and company was excellent
Loved Alnmouth. What a beach! Great views. Highly recommend Scott's deli in Alnmouth. Wonderful produce.
Such a beautiful beach, could have stayed longer here. We were lucky to visit on a beautiful sunny day then sit outside the village golf bar and dry off in the sun.
Amazing course all year round! Lovely views and definitely tests your links golf skills. Some accuracy is needed so maybe not recommend to a complete beginner.

Linhope Spout Waterfall is well worth the visit! 😉The walk to the waterfall is approximately 35 minutes and involves a long, steep climb, so be prepared with appropriate walking shoes. 👟 The stunning views and beautiful landscape make the effort rewarding. The area is very quiet and peaceful, perfect for a serene outdoor experience. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a scenic hike! 👍
Beautiful, peaceful and secluded. Great place for a picnic and a swim. The walk up isn't too challenging, but it does get your blood pumping, worth the effort though.
Beautiful location. Unable to park directly next to location, so about a mile and a half walk through amazing scenery. Walk can become steep at times and a bit of a climb out from the waterfall.
A great place for people who enjoy walking, with a waterfall and an area where you can have a picnic. You can leave your car and walk about 3 km to the spot. I personally swam there. It’s a dog-friendly place with a breathtaking view.
You are not able to drive up to the main walk, you will need to park on the verge close to the land owners house and walk down. The walk is measured at 45 minutes and says moderate. There are rocky climbs down to the waterfall at the bottom. There was plenty people jumping into the plunge pool. Nice walk with the usual change of weather around the hills.
Well worth a walk to see this small waterfall. Beautiful scenery on a sunny day. Very limited parking at end of roadway before walk starts. We were lucky.
The walk is roughly 35 - 45 minutes from the car, there is a steep climb up a rocky path before you get there but it is well worth the walk,it is clearly signposted also
Beautiful walk to a lovely location! Very well signposted from the small parking area at the end of the road.
