Wonderful museum, definitely visit if you have the chance! Every first Sunday of the month - visiting the museum is free.
Very well laid out, comprehensive. I'm a nerd, so I love seeing the old machinery. The mining museum memorial was very touching.
Excellent! Excellent! the parking lot was full so we parked in a nearby street, the entrance fee is valuable, kind staff speaks English, toilets are for free, the area is quite large, we walked independently with an electronic guide, many exhibits are related to mines and coal, machines, industry, electricity, short the film shows the history of the mine and industry and the minning accident, everywhere was clean, the spaces for visitors are outside and inside, you can spend about 2-3 hours there, interesting even for children, there is a cafe and a restaurant, I highly recommend it!
We spent most of the day here as there was so much to see. I loved the narrative guide; it was like a conversation between a lady and a gentleman personas who worked in the mine, so I found it alive and captivating.
UNESCO site of industrial heritage. Staff is very polite and helpful. Definitely worthy of your visit. Amazing to think in what conditions people lived and worked to provide energy for the country. It is also a place of a human tragedy which took lives of several hundred people.
We spent 5 hours (incl restaurant on the site). The place is very big and very interesting. It is very recommended, also with kids.
Excellent museum well worth visiting. It teaches you a lot about the industrial revolution and mining in this area and is very in depth with sub museums also inside such as a glass museum. The staff speak good English and the displays also are in perfect English. I spent 2 hours here so this is highly recommended. Free entry also.
One of the best museum experience! A must visit for all ages. Thanks to a great audio guide, recordings of a former miner and his sister let you introduce you the life of miners and revisit the tragedy of Marcinelle and its lessons for the future, as you walk through the places which became both source of glory and shame for the country. Very moving. You cannot walk out indifferent. Could not keep my tears.

A place for comedy lovers. Enjoy it
(Translated by Google) After several years of coming to Comedy Central, the atmosphere in the restaurant is no longer the same. The staff was much friendlier, warmer and more attentive. The head chef who becomes a waiter and manager doesn't appreciate it when the former staff has a kind word for the customers. The aperitifs are no longer at all comparable either in price or quantity (such as gin and tonic). Portion of fries for a child!! The soul of the restaurant has disappeared with all the old ones who have disappeared, too bad 😭😭 You lost the friendly spirit of the comedy central by merging.
Friendly and competent
(Translated by Google) Since the takeover by "Le Palace," with these few positive improvements—the welcome, the service, the new setting, the air conditioning—I find it more pleasant. I speak on behalf of six subscribers for over 10 years from the Namur region. However, changing the Sunday schedule from 5 p.m. to 4 p.m. is a constraint for us because, given the distance and the care along the way, it's a bit of a race to reserve our favorite seats. Moreover, the show ends an hour earlier, or around 5:30 p.m., which is a bit early for dinner. I think 6:30 p.m. would have been more convenient for everyone. This is just our opinion.

One of the best photography museums I have been to! Such a stunning building, everything here was made to perfection, every detail counts, plus, the gardens! The permanent collection was well-curated, I loved every room! Extra thanks for the table with autochromes. The temporary exhibitions were great as well! The cafe was a nice addition, too.
Nice museum, cafeteria and parc
Went with little to no expectations, got lost in time while being mesmerized by both the different types of camera and also the exhibitions. Definitely worth the visit
As a photographer, this was probably my best museum experience in Europe. Fortunately, when I went there, there was an amazing on-going exhibition of photo project from Africa. So many awesome photographs from when photography started back in the 1800s till today. The museum is huge, so I would say get ready to spend there 3 hours at least. Be a professional or just an amateur photographer, or just a passionate about photography, don't miss this if you are in Charleroi.
It's very old but well kept and quite cool photos and things to see. The area not so great of Charleroi and avoid the town. But parking outside which helped.
We visited in late May. Our ‘quick stop’ stretched to over 2 hours! A fascinating collection, well organized, a gem!
Large museum (largest of whole Europe apparently), as they have a great collection with some big names. You follow the history of photography through the centuries (surrealist hall was really cool), get an overview of the important aspects of making good photos in an educative hall and there are different expositions. For sure worth the ride out of the city.
Great collection, in the largest photography museum of Europe. Temporary exhibitions as well! Nice place as it is a former Carmel abbaye. Quite difficult to park. A pity that the superbe garden is not really used in the context of the exhibitions and or permanent collection. Nice café in situ.

Rive Gauche is one of the best shopping centers from Belgium! I've been there and I've seen nice stuff. I even bought a few things!
I love shopping malls but on my opinion this one is not so big and it doesn't have enough restaurant inside.
Shopping centre where you can find all you need, including foodcourts, clothing, supermarket or so. Well looking, well organized.
Great place to have fun eat and shop with parking access and public transportation
just went right past a twink therian/furry they had short wavy blond (i think) hair, a black shirt with a green anime print on it, glasses (not 100% sure), used a crutch and carried around a dinosaur mask if the description fits you, please hit me up you looked so cool😿 check my profile to see my socials
Everything in one place, it's so beautifully decorated in the holiday season. There is ice skating nearby as well. Fun activities for all ages.
Terrible organization , the local uncivilized population has never seen electric car, all 10 parking spaces for charging cars were busy with disel cars. Inside is with poor air conditions . Never recommend for visit besides locals
Nice new Shopping Malle with a lot of store. Big parking (not free though). I recommend also to walk around the mall on Montignie street, it’s pretty cute.

Beautiful, peaceful church with a spectacular copper/ brass lined backdrop to the altar.
if I can I definitelly go to the church, I love the silence and ancient atmosphere, when even the walls remember the memory of our ancestors, the altar is magnificent, it's a pity that there was nobody there except us, people forget to stop and to think about themselves
A beautiful peaceful place to relax in and get some rest and peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of Charleroi. Free to visit.
Looks like you are in a palace with its enormous glass works and gold plated altars
Unique and very interesting church, melting old and modern techniques. Ir is truly a must see
Area is not safe...dont go.
Very modern church. Had a bit similarity with Ceauşescu's bathroom's tiles. But for people who like modern art it may be a pleasant place.
A beautiful and bizzare church in the picturesque city centre. Highly recommend!

Super Art Déco staircase and great views from bell tower
(Translated by Google) Charleroi's town hall was inaugurated in 1936. It is a monumental classical building in the shape of a hexagon with Art Deco touches hidden in the geometric lines and the play of materials: red and black, marble, bronze, brass and wrought iron. The interior was decorated with numerous statues that praised the city's victory, its prosperity and industrial wealth. Only the council chamber contains a painting in seven panels, with 7 windows corresponding to the coats of arms of the cantons of the district. In the attic of the town hall is the Jules Destrée museum - Belgian politician and doctor of law. The belfry attached to the town hall is the most recent in Wallonia. It was built at the same time as the town hall. The belfry is located on the Place du Manège, which owes its name to the presence of a cavalry riding school at the time of the fort. Just like the town hall, the belfry has an Art Deco appearance. The tower is 70 meters high and has 250 steps, the carillon has no fewer than 47 bells. It symbolizes municipal freedoms. The belfry and the town hall are on the UNECO World Heritage List. Both can only be visited for a few hours a week. For more information, please contact the tourism office. In the heart of Charleroi, the City Hall stands as an architectural masterpiece where Art Deco enters into dialogue with the classical tradition. Inaugurated in 1936 in a historically charged location, it stretches over 240 meters of blue and white stone façade, topped by a slender seventy-meter belfry that has become a symbol of the city. The interior amazes with its monumental scenography: a hall of honor with polychrome marble walls, brass, and statues, a monumental staircase leading to the sculpture "La Gloire et la Paix" by Alphonse Darville, and corridors illuminated by wrought iron and frosted glass lamps. Every room, from the Council Chamber to the wedding rooms, celebrates collective art, with paintings, stained-glass windows, and crystal chandeliers, the result of the work of architects, painters, sculptors, and craftspeople. But City Hall isn't limited to its monumental grandeur. Its carillon of forty-seven bells punctuates the city's rhythm, and the hall houses the Giants of Charleroi, living witnesses to popular culture. Through this dialogue between monumental architecture and local traditions, the building reflects Charleroi's artistic and identity-rich heritage. Visitors can discover it during City Hall's opening hours and admire its history, art, and living heritage. Quite small, but busy airport. Places to charge your equipments are all over the place, so you don't need to worry about empty batteries in your phone or laptop.
The WORSE TRAIN STATION. I had to be there early in the morning, and it was full of beggars and getting harassed verbally by them early in the morning. They have no shame they keep on coming and if we don’t give any money they get violent. It’s like we should go to work everyday, wake up early in the morning everyday just to give them money who does nothing in life. Why is the commune of Charleroi so negligent about this? We feel so unsafe to walk around freely especially even inside a train station. And no security if ever needed. How crazy is that?!
Charleroi-South station, also known as Charleroi-Sud, is a major railway station located in Charleroi, Belgium. It serves as a hub for regional and national train services, connecting Charleroi to other cities in Belgium and beyond. It's an important transportation hub in the region.
Toilets are paid and the general state of the train station is far from being perfect although one can see that improvements are being made.

Very nice place to visit. I highly recommend it!
Cool place, will return, on the same level as MUHKA, but mostly paintings.. Wonderfull expo by Alain Bornain. Smart work and nice room for interaction (being able to take some of the exibitied work with you for free). Personally didnt resonate with the works by Érin Fourez, the audio scene that was added to the chairs was only available in French, this makes a Dutch speaking (or English) visitor unable to endulge into the work as intended.
Magnificent in how it feels like a full space due to its scattered Installations : weird to explain ..proper fullness in what seems like a very void environment..and blazing topics!
Bad experience, I didn't like the exhibition. Also, there was a shocking video with a woman giving birth in backwards and it was terribly done
I wish there was an English version of the current exhibits. I appreciate the lady at the ticket counter trying her best to give us some explanations
Contemporary art gallery. One of few places that are must see in Charleroi.
Its a rather mediocre contemporary art museum with very week exhibitions (at least on that day) , but that is perhaps not so much the museum's fault, but that modern art is devolved into some incoherent circus these days.
The staff were professional.

Very beautifull historical location! Very much worth the €5,- per person to see it from the inside, and have a look at the before-war Bells. (Not destoyed ones).
Beautiful location! Ample paid parking right in front. Small cafe with excellent service right in front
Nice tower to climb with the kids. Impressive clocks on top. Halloween theme
Beautiful little town with picturesque walkways and lovely gardens. We visited the bellfry and enjoyed the views in all 4 directions. The steps are steep and the adventure is not for those who are afraid of heights since the steps are transparent and the walkways are narrow. The bells ring on the half hour and on the hour. On the day we were here, the also played a Christmas Carol on the half hour and on the hour.
Ask for a guided tour either in French, Dutch, English, Italian or German. It's worthwhile, 2 hours visit in the medieval city. Go for a drink in the Imperial.Taste the Resilience beer. A local product. Enjoy
Amazing view of town an n be surrounding area. Make sure you go up to belfry during the bells ringing. The ringing is done with a pneumatic system now, but the original mechanisms are all there in plain sight. Fantastic way to learn about the purpose of the belfry in the town.
Nice setting, but advisable in spring summer or autumn.
It is a very interesting combination of the belfry and the connected residential units and public library.

Super nice people!!!!
(Translated by Google) We visited the scientific culture center as part of our “Explorers” educational courses. the Expo focused on “Water, blue gold”. we found the visit suitable for children and the explanatory panels well designed. Some experiences were not functional but surely are during guided tours. For a center made by ULB and with very affordable prices, the 4 stars are well deserved. The exhibition truly encompasses all facets of water, from the cycle, to the states of matter, including the issues of pollution and access to running water.

(Translated by Google) Interesting exhibition, small but comprehensive. Unfortunately a little frustration with the fact that certain workshops cannot be tested because the route with the wheel does not allow it, so even if we try to do the workshops to do the complete tour it is impossible because the map is not not activated for, this one is ok compared to your answer so like us you risk going around in circles on the same workshops. Despite this, it still needs to be done; you will come out a little more educated when you enter 😉 Too bad it is only accessible on weekdays.
(Translated by Google) Educational visit, very well done for children. Price more than fair. The exhibition on the human body is supplemented by small experiments and questionnaires to put children at the forefront. Well done to the team.
