Kihim beach simply gives a feel of a calm and nice beach just like south goa beaches. We had a great time with our family here with the amazing Arabian sea view and with a small stalls of quick bite options. Apart from this it has water sport activities, horse ride and many more activities that interests tourist. From Mumbai one can take a ferry or M2M to reach Mandwa port and from there it is 10 kms far to reach this beach. It is a nice beach but to explore more it’s better to stay in Alibaug.
Kihim Beach is a hidden gem along the Konkan coast that offers a serene escape with a touch of adventure. Known for its pristine shoreline and calm, inviting waters, this beach is perfect for those seeking natural beauty and relaxation. The soft, golden sand provides an ideal setting for a leisurely walk, a quiet spot to read, or simply a place to unwind while taking in the breathtaking coastal views. One of the standout features of Kihim Beach is its relatively uncrowded atmosphere. Unlike more popular destinations, you can enjoy plenty of space and a peaceful environment, making it ideal for solo visits, family outings, or even a romantic day by the sea. The lush greenery surrounding the area further enhances its natural charm and offers great opportunities for photography. Adding to its allure, Kihim Beach also offers exciting watersports. Whether you’re into jet skiing, parasailing, or simply eager to try something new, the beach provides a range of activities that inject a dose of adventure into your day. These water-based activities make it an appealing spot for thrill-seekers looking to balance relaxation with a bit of fun. Local vendors are on hand to provide fresh snacks and cool beverages, allowing you to refuel between activities. The friendly community and laid-back vibe create a welcoming atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of the Konkan coast. Overall, Kihim Beach is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, adventure enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a quiet yet invigorating coastal experience. With its beautiful scenery, excellent watersports options, and serene ambiance, it offers an ideal blend of relaxation and excitement for your next getaway. Highly recommended for your next coastal adventure!
Kihim Beach offers a perfect mix of relaxation and light adventure with food, resorts, and fun beach activities. Its peaceful weather and added experiences like horse riding make it an ideal weekend escape.
Nearest beach to Mumbai and Pune..still no much crowd that's most satisfying thing I experienced..food quality at the beach is fabulous..you must try sea food here quality and their recipes are unique..water sports also available there at affordable price
Serene and Clean Beach for a Peaceful Sunset If you’re in Alibaug and looking for a clean, less crowded beach to enjoy a peaceful sunset with the waves, Kihim Beach is a great choice. The beach is relatively less populated compared to other popular spots, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only drawback is that you need to walk a bit to find a truly quiet spot, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. But once you do, the experience is totally worth it. The sunset views are stunning, and the overall vibe is calm and refreshing. Highly recommended for those who prefer a serene beach experience over crowded touristy spots!
One of the best beaches in Alibag after Alibag Beach, I would say. You can enjoy a long beachside walk, and there are plenty of activities nearby.
My favourite place to hang out in alibag. Very calm and beautiful beach. I love to take quite walk here
Good beach to see the sun set and relax. However cannot swim here as the beach is very rocky and it is risky to go into water during High tide.

Jay Shivrai 🙏🏻 Raigad Fort is one of the most iconic and historically important forts in Maharashtra. The place truly brings to life the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The fort is located on a hill surrounded by beautiful valleys, and the view from the top is simply breathtaking. You can either trek up or take the ropeway, which saves time and offers a great aerial view. The fort is well-maintained, and places like Jagdishwar Temple, Shivaji Maharaj’s Samadhi, and the royal court area are must-see spots. Every corner has a story connected to the Maratha Empire. It’s best to visit early in the morning or in winter to avoid the heat. Local guides are available and help you understand the fort’s history better. There are also small food stalls and a museum near the base that add to the overall experience. Overall, Raigad is not just a tourist spot but a proud reminder of our heritage. A must-visit for anyone who loves history, nature, and the spirit of Shivaji Maharaj.
The fort's architecture is stunning, and the panoramic views from the top are simply incredible. The fort's preservation is impressive, and the guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The design, the walls, and the stories it tells are all so captivating. A truly unforgettable experience. The fort's location offers breathtaking views, and the history is fascinating. The fort is well-maintained . Highly recommend visiting!
An unforgettable experience at Raigad Fort I recently visited Raigad Fort in Maharashtra, and the experience was absolutely amazing. The moment you start the climb, you can feel the history and the strength of this place. The views from the top are breathtaking — endless green valleys, cool breeze, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes the entire effort worth it. The fort is well-maintained, and the ropeway option makes it convenient for anyone who wants to save time or energy. The historical spots like the Queen’s Chamber, Jagdishwar Temple, and the Coronation Point of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj truly make you imagine how grand the fort must have been in its era. Overall, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone who loves trekking, history, and scenic landscapes. I’d definitely recommend Raigad Fort to every traveler exploring Maharashtra.
What an incredible place! The fort carries deep Maratha history and offers stunning views from the top. The trek takes around 1.5–2 hours, but every step feels rewarding. Ropeway option is also available for an easy ride. The atmosphere is calm, especially in the morning, and the fort is well maintained. Don’t miss Jagadishwar Temple and Shivaji Maharaj’s samadhi point.Recommend carrying water, wearing good shoes, and visiting during monsoon or winter for the best experience. Truly a proud and peaceful place to explore! 🚩🇮🇳
The first trek of my life....the view after climbing the stairs for nearly 3 hours was worth it. There is a lord Shiva temple alongside the Samadi of Shivaji Maharaj. It was pure bliss...peace at its best. Simply put the trek was amazing. The best time to start is early morning. The sunrise is worth watching
Had a fabulous experience visiting the fort. Appreciate the Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj for his historical places among the Raigadh fort. About staying experience at private hotel was worse, the local people have made rooms on their roof and charging with very heavy cost so better to plan like that u can reach at early morning and go by night. For a ticket I started waiting in s queue in the early morning at 5am and the counter opened at 7pm so there is no arrangements for seating or coupons systems. Online tickets are consumed very fast so difficult to get it. Government must give more focus on improvement.
This is a well known fort for the Great Maratha Hindu king Sri Chatrapati Shiva Maharaj from where he had ruled the kingdom. At present some part of the fort still available in good shape.
Great place for trecking and scenic views mixed with historical architecture. You can get a cable car in case you dont wanna treck 2000+ steps. Please visit during winter or spring for best scenic views. In summer waterfalls dry up and during rainy season clouds could hinder visibility as was the case with me. Try to reach the place as early as possible in the morning as the night travel could be very risky on the road full of valleys.

Excellent atmosphere, clean beach, white sand, calm surrounding, less crowd, plenty water sports, Good Food. Better than Alibaug and other nearby beaches. Closer than other beaches
Nice beach in Alibag. Long side way so that you can walk along the beach ⛱️. Clean beach without any litter.
Visited Varsoli Beach in Alibaug recently with my cousins. There’s ample parking and plenty of fun beach and water activities. If you prefer a quieter spot, just walk a little ahead for a peaceful, less crowded stretch of beach. Perfect for a relaxing day !
Loved the beautiful beach. Cool.breeze. Good place to have a long walk on the sand along with the sound of waters.
Varsoli is a small, peaceful village located just 3 kilometers from Alibag. It is one of the popular destinations near Alibag, yet it remains quiet and beautiful village. Visitors can enjoy its scenic seashore, quaint village roads, ancient temples, delicious seafood, and exciting water sports. Varsoli is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful vacation that still offers a range of activities and culinary delights. The main attraction of Varsoli is its clean, white, and flat sandy beach. There are plenty of resorts and homestays available in and around Varsoli, making it a perfect getaway for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike.
Excellent beach other than Kashid. The water however does not seem very inviting for a dip. Not very clean as compared to Kashid. Long beach with lots of white sand and breeze. Lots of activities to do like Cycling, banana boat and other water sports. Ends of the beach offer an amazing strech of sand for a quiet walk by the sea. Almost completed my step count on the beach :) The food on the shacks and shops near by is amazing too. We tucked in to some great Prawns and Surmai fry at a good price. Saw some kind of a snake on the beach too !
Not many seaside activities, but it’s quiet and good for simply spending some peaceful time.
It’s beautiful place to enjoy and viewing sunset with your loved-ones

To reach this breathtaking view with you in the cave behind the waterfall, it takes 45min to trek. The starting point is from a single shop, Google was giving wrong direction so ask the shop owner for the way. You will reach the first stop of a waterfall in about 25 min. Then further 20min is the way to cave. The difficult level of the trek is medium. There are 2 shops on each of the stops - waterfall and caves which serve tea, maggi, bhuta, guava, cucumber. No ticket is needed. Just wear good hiking shoes and enjoy the journey.
A lesser known beautiful chaitya cave, along with Vihara caves. An uphill easy trek takes you to this beautiful place. This beautiful group can be accessed only by walking. It takes around 30 to 40 minutes to climb up through the forest, vale, streams and waterfalls. It's serene, picturesque and verdant when I visited. If you like a little adventure and get a feel of an exploration walk, take a trip.
Kondhane Caves, easily reached from Karjat, offers an ideal short historical trip. The hike is simple, taking only 30-40 minutes, perfect for all skill levels. The route is clearly marked by arrows painted on trees for easy navigation. Inside the small, ancient cave, you'll discover beautiful rock-cut carvings. Look for the fascinating, centuries-old Brahmi inscriptions and architecture. A highly recommended, accessible half-day escape into history.
"A great place to visit, especially during the monsoon! The trail to Kondana Caves offers a refreshing experience surrounded by lush greenery and flowing streams. The caves themselves are beautiful, and the nearby waterfall adds to the charm. Definitely worth a visit for nature lovers and trekkers."
"A Peaceful Escape into History 🌿" Such a peaceful and serene place! The short trek to Kondane Caves is quite manageable and safe for all age groups, with just a couple of slippery patches—so a bit of caution is advised, especially during the monsoon. These ancient Buddhist caves date back to the 1st century BCE and offer not only natural beauty but a deep connection to history. Carved into the rocky cliffs near Karjat, they once served as a monastery for Buddhist monks and included chaityas (prayer halls) and viharas (monastic cells) with simple yet elegant rock-cut architecture. It’s truly humbling to stand amidst such timeless craftsmanship while surrounded by dense forests and flowing streams. 🙏 A humble request to all fellow visitors: Please respect this heritage site. Avoid littering—especially inside the caves. Let’s preserve this treasure for future generations.
I visited Kodhane Caves this Sunday and absolutely loved the experience. The place is serene, quiet, and truly beautiful – perfect for anyone looking to escape the city hustle for some peace and natural beauty. We took an auto from Karjat Station to reach the base village, and the fare ranged between ₹250 to ₹350, depending on your bargaining skills. The short trek to the caves is refreshing, surrounded by lush greenery and scenic views. Once at the top, the caves are simple but fascinating, offering a peaceful vibe and a glimpse into ancient history. It's a great spot to sit, relax, and take in the beauty around. Highly recommended for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, or anyone looking for a peaceful weekend getaway. I’ll definitely visit again
If you're looking to escape the city chaos and take a quiet step back in time, Kondhane Caves in Karjat offer the perfect mix of nature, history, and light adventure. Nestled in the Sahyadri hills near Rajmachi, these rock-cut Buddhist caves are a hidden gem—less commercialized than other heritage spots, but full of quiet charm. Getting There Located about 15 km from Karjat railway station, Kondhane Caves are reachable by a short drive followed by a moderate trek (around 45 min). The trail is scenic and shaded, winding through dense green forests, streams, and gentle slopes—especially stunning during monsoon season when small waterfalls line the path Simple. Scenic. Spiritually grounding. Best experienced in monsoon for full effect. Suitable trekk for kids and old age people
Refreshing 30 min trek at Kondhane Caves Karjat Caves carving represent Buddhist culture and historically presence of Karjat Township do visit in any season but In monsoon the beauty of nature glows more and it can be one day picnic spot after trek at Ulhas river 😀 take a break and enjoy your day 😀 😉

Phansad Bird Sanctuary is a peaceful escape into nature. The forest trail is green, shady, and perfect for a calm walk. You can hear birds chirping all around, even if spotting them takes patience. The path is clean and well-maintained, great for beginners too. It’s quiet, less crowded, and feels untouched. Best to visit early morning for cool weather and more bird sounds.
Peace and Quiet: This is truly a place for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and peace seekers. The forest trails are lush, shady, and quiet, filled mostly with the sounds of chirping birds. Mobile network coverage is thankfully minimal, allowing for a complete disconnect. Biodiversity: While spotting large animals like leopards is rare, the sanctuary is rich in birdlife (over 150 species) and unique flora, including the endemic Malabar Giant Squirrel.
The Best time to visit is early morning. If you are around 9 am then also you won't be able to spot any wildlife. It's not a guided tour so unless you have someone who can spot where n how to spot wildlife n telescope it's not gonna be fruitful. It was just a forest trail walk for us. Entry fees is Rs.70. You need to walk a lot. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes as it's all Natural trail. Carry lot of water. There is one canteen at entrance only... you can get Maggie, poha, tea coffee there.
Deonar Forest & Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary: A Nature Lover’s Paradise! If you love greenery and a peaceful escape, Deonar Forest is a breath of fresh air right in Mumbai! Tall trees, chirping birds, and a calm vibe make it a perfect spot to relax and recharge. For a wilder adventure, Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit! From playful giant squirrels to colorful butterflies, it’s a hidden gem full of life. The lush trails and fresh air make every walk magical. Whether you’re a nature lover, birdwatcher, or just need a break, these spots are pure bliss!
🌿 A Refreshing Walk Through Nature at Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary We visited Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary on a slightly drizzly day, which made the experience even more adventurous. Our entire family enjoyed a 4–5 kilometer trail through the forest. Although we couldn’t spot any animals because of the weather, it was still absolutely worth it — the kids got to see what a real jungle looks and feels like. The lush greenery, sounds of nature, and fresh air made it a wonderful learning experience for them. We were a mix of excited and a little scared, but that added to the fun! A great place to visit if you enjoy nature walks, peace, and a bit of adventure. 🌳🌧️🐾
Amazing place to spend a day and explore nature and get a glimpse of true wildlife! You can walk on trails without any guide. Entry fee is 60 rupees which is very cheap given the kind of access to the sanctuary. I spotted several unique birds and mouse deer! Be ready to walk a lot and make sure to carry water to stay hydrated. If you really want to spot wildlife, I’d recommend wearing camouflaging colours and staying quiet throughout your hike.
Very good place for picinc with family. Living facilities are also good.

The surrounding views of the Sahyadris are breathtaking, especially during monsoon when the landscape turns vibrant. Though minimally developed, the site’s raw charm and historical aura make it worthwhile. Local guides share fascinating tales of Shivaji’s escapades, enriching the experience. Wear sturdy shoes for the uneven path, carry water, and visit early to avoid midday heat. A humble yet profound spot for history buffs, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a peaceful retreat off the beaten path!
A nice devotional place to visit. Also there a maha Prasad to each and every devotees from 12- 2pm afternoon. Also the khichdi is very tasty. It's a very cool place below the rocks. Also we can have taak there from the local vendors it's very good and tasty.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Visited: Monsoon Season – Must-Visit Spiritual Retreat in the Sahyadris Shivthar Ghal is a beautiful and historically significant cave located in the Raigad district, nestled deep within the Sahyadri hills. It is the very place where Samarth Ramdas Swami wrote the spiritual scripture Dasbodh and meditated in peace. The location is filled with tranquility, natural beauty, and spiritual vibes—an ideal destination for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and spiritual seekers alike. --- 📍 How to Reach: Located around 35 km from Mahad, the drive to Shivthar Ghal is scenic, especially during monsoon. The last stretch includes ghat roads with multiple bends but is well-paved and manageable. The site has a dedicated parking area and is easily accessible via a short walk from the entrance. --- 🧘 Site Highlights: Historic Cave: The main cave has a small shrine dedicated to Samarth Ramdas Swami. It's well-maintained and spiritually uplifting. Shivthar Waterfall: During monsoon, a beautiful waterfall flows right next to the cave. The sound of water adds to the meditative ambiance. Surroundings: Surrounded by dense forest and tall cliffs, it's a great spot to relax and connect with nature. Temple and Hall: The trust has built a sabha mandap (hall) for devotees and visitors. Clean and peaceful environment. --- ✅ What I Liked: Very clean, well-maintained premises Volunteers and trust members are friendly and informative Historical importance + natural beauty = perfect combo Ideal place for day trips from Mahad, Poladpur, or even Pune Beautiful drive through ghats, especially in monsoon --- ⚠️ Tips & Points to Note: No mobile network inside the cave or in some areas nearby Basic food and tea available at stalls near the entrance Limited washroom facilities (clean but basic) Best time to visit is June–September for monsoon waterfall views Respect the sanctity of the place – silence is appreciated inside the cave --- 📝 Final Thoughts: Shivthar Ghal is more than a tourist spot—it’s a place to pause, reflect, and absorb the peace of nature and the wisdom of Samarth Ramdas. The cool cave, the waterfall, the historic relevance, and the green surroundings make it a must-visit destination in Konkan. Whether you're spiritual or simply love offbeat places filled with nature and history, Shivthar Ghal will leave a lasting impression. 🌿📿🌧️
I visited Shivthar Ghal. Shivthar Ghal is a peaceful, calm & spiritual place. It is about 6 kms away from the Bhor-Mahad road that goes via Varandha ghat, it is about 114 KM from Pune. The road is not in a very good condition and full of twists and turns. Shivthar Ghal is also known as Sundarmath (Sundarmath means Beautiful Monastery) & it is a cave, under beautiful waterfall. Samarth Ramdas Swami lived here for about 22 years & he written famous ‘Dasbodh’ at this place. It is believed that this is where the first meeting between Shivaji Maharaj and Samarth Ramdas took place. You can visit shivtharghal any time but best time to visit is in monsoon. In monsoon you could see a huge massive waterfall falling right in front of the cave. But it is not accessible to visitors. In peak monsoon, the nature is at its best in this place. You will get ‘khichadi’ as prasad if you arrive between 12 PM to 1:30 PM. A dharamshala (rest house) is available for visitors. For the Bhakta Niwas, it's essential to contact the Shivthar Ghal Sundarmath Seva Samiti in advance.
Beautiful place to visit especially during rainy season, many water falls on the way and it’s very senic and your can see the natures beauty with mountains all around also the place has its own energy and you can experience peace when you are there
