One just got go see this statue. A good reminder how long the history of Portugal is. The statue is physically quite modest considering how important the man in question was. Nevertheless, definitely worth checking out revisiting history at least a bit.
It's bad. I'm going to update this later, but just know to disregard any reviews of this place older than a year. Front desk people were kind and did try to help, but we're not able.
A statue of Vasco da Gama stands beside the castle, offering a stunning view of the ocean 😊
Good statue. Great man. Even better views.
Nice place ,the man who discovered India
You can the excellent panorama of the city
Lovely statue perched on hill top with great views...also get to see the Praia ( beach) and promenade named after him if you look down

Beautiful building which is now hosting a lovely exhibition of marine art (some pictures are from 18th century). Free entrance.
Only open at certain times. Staff not friendly. Exhibition was very limited. All in all, 15 minutes in and out.
Really good experience! Great variety of art pieces (sculpture, paintings) from new artists and well-known ones. Beautiful architectural features of the building. Friendly staff.
Looks like a nice place but make sure you check if they have an exhibition on currently. We were between shows so we did not get to see a showing.
Interesting place with a library, art centre and reading room.
Serene and has quiet place to read

Super nice staff especially working on the docks taking lines. They even took the time to bring parts I had ordered out to our boat in the anchorage!! Doesn’t get better than that. Fuel dock does require cash only which is tough when you want 100s of liters ! Great little town as well, definitely worth the visit.
Very nice service and sympathy. Marina with view to the city and the fortress! Close to downtown (10 m walking). Several services available. Negative: many people outside marine use toilets and showers. Very exposed marine to swells: boat shakes a lot, hard to sleep!
I was anchored legally in front of Praia Vasco da Gama, in the area de fundeaduros. The marina approached me with a semi-rigido and told me to pay for anchoring. Areas de fundeadouro are public navigable waters, and the marina does not have maritime concession here. Demanding money in these areas is not only unethical—it’s highly illegal extortion! I did not pay and stayed two nights, I advice all anchoring visitors to do the same.
Beautiful well protected finger wharf. There is water and electricity and fuel at the marina.
Very pleasant helpful staff and great facilities. €39 for a 10.3 mtr boat, which I thought was a bit expensive, hence the 4 stars.
Small but very good marina. Well worth the stop when making passage north/south. Helpfully staff, with good and clean facilities, nice showers. Easy berths to get in/out and help is available. Not many berths available for larger boats, over 14m. A good anchorage as well and for a small fee allowed to use marina facilities.
Nice marina with friendly staff and good facilities. Try to get on the inner pontoons to avoid the swell.
Great place for making a break on the journey from Algarve to Lisbon. 8

(Translated by Google) Main church The church in which Vasco da Gama was baptized was demolished in 1730 to make way for the current church dedicated to San Salvador. It is a very elegant structure, reflecting the military spirit of the Order of Santiago, whose coats of arms are visible above the main door. Inside, the altar tiles stand out - a monumental blue and white composition from the mid-18th century. On the site of this church, there was once a Visigothic basilica from the 7th century, richly decorated with carved pilasters. Now they are kept in the archaeological museum of the fortress.

(Translated by Google) The Nossa Senhora das Salvas Fort, popularly known as Revelim Fort, is located in the municipality and city of Sines, in the Setúbal district of Portugal, in Alentejo. Located on the cape of Sines, at the western end of the bay, its function was to defend the coast, cooperating with the Sines Castle in defending the town against attacks by corsairs and pirates, which were common on that coast at the time. When a suspicious vessel was spotted, its artillery would fire salvos, calling on able-bodied residents to defend themselves and the general population to take refuge. It was built in the 17th century to a design by the architect Alexandre Massai, at a time when other fortresses with the same function were built along the Portuguese coast. It was garrisoned in 1844. It is classified as a property of public interest.
