Just visited the magnificent Die Garten Tulln and I'm absolutely blown away! This garden paradise in Lower Austria is truly a must-visit destination for both garden enthusiasts and nature lovers. The highlight of our visit was the 30-meter-high treetop walk, offering breathtaking views over the entire garden complex and the Danube region. It's definitely worth climbing up for the panoramic experience. The timing of our visit in spring was perfect, with countless tulips and spring flowers in full bloom. The garden center also offers a wonderful selection of plants to take home. Pro tip: Plan at least 3-4 hours to fully explore everything, and don't miss the butterfly house!
Great place to visit, 70 different gardens with a wealth of ideas for every type of garden you might have (a wish for). A place to relax too, if you have the time. Not being yet the full season, some of the "refreshment" places were not open but i can imagine how wonderful it must be in the summer- wonder around, stop for a coffee or a beer, have something to eat, then wonder some more. Bring a book and read in one of the many places set up around the garden. The kids gardening school looks great too! And so does the playground! The whole place is an education and we very much appreciated the information on the displays being in English too! Loved the frog concert by the big pond as well as the dancing fountains on the classical Blue Danube waltz- very aprropriate, quite beautiful! Very happy we made the stop here on our cycling holiday, it was worth the delay. Thank you! ❤️
Graden Tulim is a wonderful place where you can immerse yourself in a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. The green surroundings, beautiful flowers, and meticulously maintained flower beds create the perfect spot for relaxation and unwinding. It’s an ideal place for walks or spending time with family or friends. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. I will definitely return!
I liked the ponds with frogs, but the gardens there were too generic. The choice of plants may have been much wider and more interesting. The entrance fee is too high for what you can see there. The shop at the entrance is ridiculous - full of plastic things and everything is priced just too high.
Highly recommended. We visited on a Saturday during August, however it was not packed at all. The garden is well maintained, the staff is welcoming, there is a non-cheap restaurant, with decent coffee and ice cream. The park has a really nice playground which should keep kids up to ages 12 happy for a few hours. Don't miss climbing up the tower which provides a terrific view of the area, including the Danube. The entrance cost is reasonable (7 eu per person), parking is free and we spent there almost 4 hours. Great stop on the way from Vienna to Lipno.
A must see for everyone! Great walk through all the possibilities to build, maintain and enjoy a garden. Including what materials are recommendable and how to adopt to climate change. Kids love it too. The tree top tower offers a spectacular view of the river meadows.
Nice outdoor activity, more like a showroom for different garden building companies, however nice to walk around. Different activites for children as well, huge playground and an "adventure park". The lookout is extraordinary.
Excellent concept of a natural show room for garden, terrace arangements and park with corners for relaxation and children playgrounds. There is also the viewing tower some restaurants and ocational seminars, workshops...for all ages. The shop at the entrance is also inviting.

(Translated by Google) Small and nicely prepared, a very good activity for 2 euros. Unfortunately, there are also points of criticism, hence the star deduction: 1. 1x audio shower in the "children's bedroom" on the left of the single bed only works in English, in German it stops after two words. 2. The other audio showers are really very quiet, even normal breathing drowns out the audio recording. Please be sure to check it out. 3. On the video projector in the "dining room" a faulty (defective) image is displayed when the image is scrolled after the 3rd image.
(Translated by Google) Great idea to be able to go in at any time during the day with a 2 euro coin machine - nice little exhibition about Schiele's childhood! The only downside: some of the audio showers with explanations of the rooms etc. are so quiet that you can't hear them even with perfect hearing! Should simply be checked and readjusted! Definitely a nice way to take advantage of transfer times of around half an hour!

An absolutely brilliant afternoon was had by everyone! The staff were friendly and helpful. The exhibits were very interesting and laid out beautifully. I appreciated the English translations while obviously there was more detail in the Deutsch information boards. The museum answered many questions I was curious about regarding Roman history. A fantastic museum, great for a family indoor activity.
Very interesting pieces from the Roman times that were found in the region. There is a roman excavation nearby.

Very impressive place and the statues are so realistic! You should go!
attractive statue and fountain - lots of water which comes handy in hot summer. Especially for dogs
Beautiful view and peaceful place
Good looking statues on a pretty and quiet park.
Stunning fountain and monument! Truly beautiful and worth a visit!
A beautiful area directly near the Danube, with the Egon Schiele path and Roman towers just near. Also bring white bread, the ducks, swans and seagulls will love you.
A beautiful and meaningful monument right along the Danube promenade in Tulln. You’ll pass by automatically if you’re walking or cycling along the river. The Nibelungen Fountain tells the story of Kriemhild and King Etzel meeting here – a legendary scene from the medieval Nibelungenlied. The bronze sculptures are detailed and impressive, and the symbolic fountain design adds a thoughtful artistic touch. I stopped here during a bike tour and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. It’s also a popular photo stop for locals and travelers alike.
Super! For the summer walks.

Directly behind the parish church of St. Stephan is the late Romanesque building of the Tulln Karner. The building is immediately noticeable because the floor plan is 11-sided. The shape apparently goes back to a sacred building in Jerusalem, where there is an extremely similar building. The building was built around 1240/50, probably on behalf of the last Duke of Babenberg, Friedrich II, by a Norman builder. (Original) Öffnungszeiten: Fr-So 14-16 Uhr.

Former prison building, now a museum documenting the life & work of the 1800s Expressionist painter.
Slide 1 of 8
Excellent museum just a few steps from Donau walking paths. Museum is in the former prison building so there are still some doors from that period. There are som works of Schiele and also other artists. Audio guide is available in different languages. There is also an invating shop - connected to the work of Schiele and also Klimt. The exhibition is well worth a visit.
The video content is quite interesting and gives insight in Schieles life. The presentation is awful and uninspiring. 70 % of the museum space is shop, hallways and an atelier. The space for museum content is very small. I don‘t know who designed this place. Lady at the cash desk was also very rude
It’s all about expectations. The staff was very upfront and explained what were displayed in the museum - NO famous paintings that you can see anywhere in the big museums in the world. Instead, 12 paintings from when he was 17-18 years old which I personally loved and was mesmerised by the Sunflower, 1907. I cannot stop looking at it and feel that aloneness and melancholy. On the 1st floor, it’s a video exhibition with interviews with art historian, psychologist, museum curators, etc. Also the major archive of the interview of a US art historian’s with Egon Schiele’s sisters and sister-in-law to get a more personal perspective. The only annoying thing is only one person can access to the video each other (you have your own audio guide included in the fee). And the person before you didn’t finish the video, you will have to watch it from the point they stopped before you can go back to the beginning. If the videos are in German, they have English subtitles. And think of Tulln as a whole package of Egon Schiele pilgrimage, and the museum is part of it, not the entirety of it. The town has an Egon Schiele Weg you can follow and get a full experience of his home town. The staff is also super friendly!
Very interesting for those who are interested in art. There is some samples of Schille’s art BUT very comprehensive stories on his life comes from interviews with his relatives. Nice presented.
I understand that every town needs a museum, even when there is not too much to show. However, this was over a limit. To present ten 17-years-old Schiele's naive drawings plus several crazy installations in former prison cells as a Schiele' museum is not fair. Even the lady behind the counter knew that and was nice enough to warn us. Unfortunately, the warning came in German which none of us understood it well enough to take it seriously. If you want to see Schiele's masterpieces, visit Albertina and use your 5 Euros and 10 minutes of time for anything more enriching, e.g., drink a glass of cold beer in one of closeby bars.
The museum is the equivalent of a "Schubert - Event" in a concert hall, where the orchestra plays only the 3rd movement of his 1st symphony. Then a big canvas is unfolded, where a group of medium-gifted artists draws comics commenting Schubert's life and the reception of his work.
If you like Egon you cannot missing this authentic place with a lot of memories of Him.
Disappointing. You get more info about Egon Schiele by reading Wikipedia. The house does not preserve almost any original objects of the artist or original decorations. Only a few minor paintings by Schiele are on display, mostly irrelevant for his creative genius, because they are early sketches from his adolescence. We left after 10 minutes.

(Translated by Google) The city tower and the moat in front of it are the last remnants of the former Tulln city fortifications. The city tower is a round tower that protected the southwest corner of the city wall. It was built in 1560 and the beginnings of the city wall can still be seen on its sides. This actual city wall or “high wall” was approximately 1.8 meters wide and over 5 meters high. In front of this wall was the “Zwinger” a narrow corridor and in front of this was the Zwinger wall, almost 1 meter wide and only 2 meters high; In front of it lay the city moat and city wall. The city fortifications were built according to plan after 1200. It roughly formed a rectangle 600 meters long and 420 meters wide. At the corners there were towers or bastion-like defenses, and in the middle of the walls there were four gates facing the four cardinal points. This fortification was significantly strengthened after 1400. Since then it has consisted of the two walls and the approximately 20 meter wide city moat. This was fed by its own supply line that branched off from the Kleine Tulln near Staasdorf. The wall followed outside the ditch. You can still see part of the ditch and part of the wall in front of the main school building, both of which are now designed as a green area.

(Translated by Google) Statue of Marcus Aurelius directly on the Danube. Very large. Unfortunately only a copy, because the original is in Italy. No benches nearby. There is also an inscription on the statue, this is in German. If you walk along the Danube, you will definitely pass by here. The statue was placed in a suitable location with great scenery and thus beautifies the overall image of the region.

The lacation is quite nice, small but comfy. The only annoying thing in my eyes was the stage floor. One wrong movement next thing you know your shoe sounds like jimmy carr' s laugh.

(Translated by Google) The Danubium, a state-of-the-art event hall with the best technical equipment, closes a gap in the city's infrastructure that has existed since the old city hall was demolished, and there are once again ideal conditions for a year-round cultural offering. Access and dining area on the ground floor. The venue itself is unfortunately located in the basement, so access is unfortunately not really barrier-free! Otherwise everything is well organized and there are always attractive events. (Translated by Google) Great modern event hall with a gastro area and bar and great wines from nearby Wagram. It is located right in the center of Tulln. There are plenty of parking spaces in the underground car park on the main square and there are plenty of parking spaces within a few minutes' walk, especially in the evenings or on weekends when the Danubium is busy. Great events with readings, concerts and theater performances delight the audience. It's always a pleasure to be here. (Translated by Google) Is there no one who can save this jewel, which would be almost unique in what is now Austria (comparable castles are more common in Bohemia and Moravia)? Huge financial injection, fundraising campaign, participation, making it better known through the media, television programs...?... The restoration and repair should be accelerated if you want to save this jewel!
Its a 'can see' but not a 'must see'. But if you like ancient places you may like it.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place that has probably received and continues to receive far too little appreciation to this day. An EXTRAORDINARY financial injection and CULTURAL FUNDING from the state of Lower Austria should benefit the current operator for the repair and preservation of this extraordinary building. Set up as a DECADENT EVENT location, targeted NÖ ADVERTISING will quickly attract the right audience for various BAROQUE EVENTS. Decadence has always been costly and precious.
(Translated by Google) Thank you very much for the great tour by the castle lord! We learned a variety of historically interesting details and were able to discover many beautiful nooks and crannies of the castle. The current owner's commitment to preserving this architectural jewel, which has been neglected for years and robbed of its art treasures, is simply fantastic.
(Translated by Google) If mine were to be completely renovated and activated for various events, it's a shame that such a gem is falling into disrepair or that so much has already been destroyed in previous years. The only question that arises for me is that if you buy such a beautiful property and renovate it, how much the so-called monument protection will get involved in it, because then it will continue to be unaffordable to reactivate it. Because as long as it continues to fall into disrepair, no one will be interested in monument protection, which has happened too often, unfortunately.
(Translated by Google) I drive past it almost every day and over time you can't help but notice that this little castle, originally a jewel, is completely falling into disrepair. It's a shame that the owners are obviously unable to take the necessary revitalization measures and the public is clearly not interested in preserving it. This architectural gem of bygone times falls victim to political friction and intrigue. Too bad! Schad!

A must see for all art lovers
