Ideal for young families. Good stretch of beach, dog friendly. Wee cafe and restaurants. Usual fish and chips and arcade. Pier loverly and fenicular railway wonderful if working. Only downside getting up and down steps to beach.

Here is a solo trip itinerary: Put saltburn pier in your sat nav to get to the car park (pay and display) download ring go as the machines are fussy Walk round the beach. Get wet if you want to. Take it all in 🧘‍♀️ There is the arcade thing which was very exciting for a first timer like me :) barely won anything but still lots of fun playing. There is a cash machine inside so don’t worry if you don’t have cash on you. The food—-I had fish and chips duuuh 🤪 at the seaview restaurant. The views are absolutely worth it but there are other chippy places nearby so you can buy and sit on one of the many benches and enjoy it that way. Please have an ice cream as a dessert it’s just amazing plus you deserve it. Oh there is also Tomahawk steak house nearby with great views so if you fancied something else other than fish and chips Dog friendly Child friendly There is the famous old cliff tramway whi ch was pretty cool if you ask me. £2 for one way. Do it! You know you want to. Other things: -rent a wetsuit -surf school 🏄‍♂️ -Fishing -watch the sunset -people watching -take selfies -chat to random strangers Etc

A gorgeous old pier, and magnificent views from the end. A nice walk down and ample seats to rest and take in the sea air.

The pier looks pretty cool and goes quite a way out into the sea. Although once you get to the end, it's just full of fishermen taking up all the room with their gear and rods. Surely give them a start time of 6pm to allow tourists and people fancying a quiet walk or some photo taking, clear room to do that. That always spoils it for me. Also the arcade that you walk through or around to get to the pier is another ticket induced nightmare. There's a machine that charges you £1 for Pokémon cards, then gives you one card, imagine a childs disappointment when that happens. There's also never any money tubs, here's some money bags to hold your change in, just isn't the same.

It was a real bucket list item for me, and I’m so glad I’ve ridden on the tramway! Brilliant, friendly staff - very reasonable price for such a unique experience too - I’d highly recommend visiting and taking a ride in this piece of living history. My only ‘negative’ if you could call it that, was the lovely merchandise in the bottom entrance; after payment, there was a tram car waiting, so didn’t have time to purchase or properly look at the souvenirs, but I’ll make sure to ask for extra time for a browse next time (they had some gorgeous art prints). A brilliant experience through and through, I can’t wait to visit again. I felt like a big kid!

We stopped in just to ride the tram as it looked like something that we would enjoy. Parking was easy as there is a lot that runs along the coast in the town. The tram is near the southern section of the lot. Parking is free. Access is easy with a walkway from the parking lot to the entrance. Cost was £2 each way per person, and one can pay with a card. There is a long walkable pier at the bottom with benches to sit and just enjoy the magnificent views. The water was filled with surfers donned in wet suits when we visited on the 3rd Friday in September. The staff was super friendly, and we learned that they are volunteers. The engineer was eager to explain just how the tram functioned in order to go up and down the tracks. There is an arcade at the bottom but we enjoyed just walking out on the pier and admiring the stunning views of the coast. Be sure to check the hours of operation as they close rather early and you would need to visit during the day.

Saltburn Cliff Tramway We like it and its always a fun way to travel especially with all your beach gear and children, however it is only a very short journey, 120ft in 55 seconds. So £6 for a family ticket down then £6 for a family ticket up, that's £12, way more than it costs to park the car for the day. For that reason I'd recommend £1 for adults/children, family tickets for £4, with pets free, but that's just me. However, it is a nice experience and a lovely memory, with vast views and it also does look pretty great watching the trams going up and down. The gents are always happy and polite and eager to chat about the history of the tram or just chat in general, so you don't mind paying a little extra. For future visits, I would have a happy hour, 50p travel between the hours of 1-2pm, off peak charges and also introduce ticket stubs for the children to hold and keep as momentos. Also my missus wouldn't let me ask if we identified as dogs would we only have to pay 80p 😂

However the queue at the bottom can be long in the sun, they really should provide a bit of cover and a seat or two for older people.

Just started going with my daughter and grandson. It's amazing, food is beautiful, staff are very friendly and eager to help. Only one thing I would change, Hope you don't mind me saying, the baby changing tables in the toilets are too high up. All in all a great place to take the kids

Visited Play Factory as a tourist with my children. We were asked to create an account and leave personal details, which I didn’t feel was necessary for a short visit. The price is quite high for less than 2 hours. Booking in advance is recommended, but I wish there was an option for one-time visitors without having to share personal information. Never will go back unfortunately.

The best soft play I've been to! The equipment is all clean and well maintained (think I could only see scuffs on one piece of kit which is a million times better than I'm used to seeing - it looks really new). There's so many different bits to it, think 7 slides, cargo nets, tunnels, two sports courts, very good toddler area with sensory things and a ball firing machine. Toilets were all clean as well. The food was good, they said there would be a wait and after that amount of time the food turned up. Have a look at the specials (the parmo wrap was really good) which also has healthier things like soup on. The sandwiches all looked good and well filled (but not all with sandwich filler but 'real' fillings). All the staff were really friendly/helpful and there was a lovely lady doing the rounds on the tables to make sure it was all clean etc. Will definitely be coming back when we're back in the area as our 2.5yr old loved it and could have spent even longer there given how much there was to do and even though it was busy there was plenty of space for the kids. Brilliant!

Very expensive! However the staff were good. Nothing flash and not worth the money! As you won’t let me reply on my original post above or on your patronising post- I will clearly state it was EXPENSIVE and not worth the money. Nothing to do with any dog, babysitting or anything else at all. I feel your childish bitchy response unprofessional. Came here when I was a kid and I’m now 23 and brought my daughter for her 5th birthday and it was still just as fun the kids loved it and we had a parmo with chips and garlic and it was Beautiful I Will definitely go back there’s lots to do for all ages the sensory cave was amazing aswell i highly recommend visiting

I've been to a fair few soft plays since the kids came along and I loved this one. It's a big-ish one with a go kart track (for an additional £1 per child rider), a small football pitch and lots of different size play areas for kids. Food offerings are good, although the sandwich I had off the board wasn't really what I ordered (chicken, stuffing and cranberry - no stuffing and more cranberry than chicken, but the chips are delicious). We rearranged a bunch of tables to accommodate our party and a sleeping child, and staff were fine with it. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's a bit on the expensive side (£11.90 for a 1yr old and a 3yr old) but I'd consider visiting again.

Excellent local museum, well worth a visit. Free entry but donation appreciated. Exhibits of maritime interest, Captain Cook, local ganseys and Staithes bonnets to name a few. All good. Very nice friendly staff. Gentleman on duty upstairs really enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Endeavour, good model of it to illustrate his mini lecture.

A little museum full of interesting history of Staithes. Lovely little craft shop. It’s remarkable how much they have got in a small museum. Free entry all though a donation is suggested on exit. Dogs welcome, and small gift shop on site.

A real little gem and definitely worth a look. Colin, the volunteer guide that day, was incredibly knowledgeable and told us about the history of the museum and how it came about, as well as some local facts and stories of Staithes. A very nice, warm and welcoming gentleman....but he is from Leeds, so...!! We bought a couple of items from the gift shop which was very reasonably priced and we very much enjoyed our visit. Thanks Colin 😊

A surprisingly good museum for a small village with excellent collections, especially related to Captain Cook.

Staithes Museum is quirky and full to bursting with interesting 'stuff'! A lot of the exhibits are quite eccentric, but I'll not spoil your fun by providing a list, so go there! It's well worth a visit if you've got a couple of hours to spare.

Fantastic local history museum. Covers Staithes village, fishing industry, captain cook and new worlds, and John Harrison clocks. Donation welcome on exit. Craft shops on site worth a visit

This bar is fantastic. Very welcoming & regulars are really friendly. They sell every Gin & Vodka you can imagine & hold socially nights with book clubs and turns at the weekend. Would highly recommend a visit.

A lovely little gem of a place, lots of choice on draught, I would imagine there'll be around 100 gin choices too, also has a lovely beer yarden at the back, the owners are amazing, make you feel so welcome, worth a visit every time, anyone would be mad to pass this place by.

No real cider (no reason it should have, this is definitely ale territory, but micropubs are often a cider oasis). This one has only a couple of kegged pseudo-ciders. Nice downstairs room and garden accessed down stairs at the back which look as if they lead to a cellar.

A nice friendly micro pub. Pretty busy. Had a nice Wainwrights Gold Keg. Hopefully there will be Cask beer next time...think they had run out...

Outstanding place of beauty

Had a great Sunday lunch here, and super cheap. Fully served to your table. Tons of food on my plate: 4 roast meats, stuffing, roasties, huge yorkie, parsnip. And then came the sharer sides: cabbage, swede, mash, mushy peas, carrots, cauliflower cheese and gorgeous gravy. Apparently you could have more veg if you wanted.....we didn't want, we had way too much already, yum! Highly recommend

Recently had breakfast here and it was horrific the black pudding was rock solid the chips were obvious warm ups just tasted like everything was deep fried from frozen. It used to serve very nice food here but I won't be visiting anymore sadly. Also the kitchen sounded like a rave scene. Hope a decent chef is found before they lose more custom as it's a lovely place.

Our first visit, Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic, lots of vegetables, and choice of meats. Full of flavour and well cooked. Good value for money. Staff were so friendly and informative too. Thank you.

Just moved to the area of Saltburn and finding places to eat gluten free always makes hard work of mealtimes. Someone suggested Loftus club for good food. Board outside said food served 12 lunch until 9pm. After enquiring if they had any gluten free options on the menu, I was given quite a few choices by the cook. My partner and I enjoyed different meals from the menu. The food was very good and i'm particular 😆 Being the only customers in the dining area at 2pm it was lacking atmosphere, although we could have eaten in the bar room, where a few regulars were chatting over drinks. Very positive experience, will definitely visit again as the food was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

This is a community hub/pub/club/restaurant. What they do they do very very well. Always a warm welcome, good food and the staff are always so appreciative of your custom. The prices are excellent also. Worth a visit
