This is such a beautiful natural wonder that must be seen when in Rio Tranquillo - phobia don't do it justice, it must be seen in real life to fully appreciate. We are so grateful to Panchito, from Panchito Full Marmol tours and his guide Nelson for such a great tour, really taking their tike to allow us to appreciate this area and their local knowledge. Thank you 😊
Indeed the nature around there is quite beautiful. Years of erosion of the rock due to water created amazing forms. The colour of the water is an impressive blue. We took a tour from Porto Tranquilo. We paid 10000ARS per person for one hour on the boat, which I found quite expensive. It seems that all the tourist agencies charge the same. The boats are for about 15 people each. Everyone has to wear a floating jackets for safety reasons.
Ok-ish. A couple of nice pictures can be taken. Rio Tranquilo by itself is simply ugly : steel plate cabanas and parking lot directly on the lake...
Incredible place, 380 million years old! The motor boat you need to get there, was an experience in itself
Mandatory if you are here. Evry agency offer the tour

I only did the Mirador hike for 30 minutes and it gave a great view of the Glacier. The path is well maintained and relatively easy.
Not really worth the effort in time and money. Not much prior disclosure that the lower part of the glacier is gone. Enjoy the rubble field. Chances of seeing the mountains are very remote.
such a beautiful glacier
An amazing experience to a magnificent destination hiking over the glacier and through glacial caves. Our tour guides were excellent allowing us to fully experience the glacier and ice caves.
Linda vista do glaciar.
Nice view over the glaciar (not as beautiful as the perito moreno or laguna san rafael) The mountains above must be really impressive but I was cloudy.
Incredible place, if you are lucky you can see Monte San Valentín te highest mountain of Patagonia

We had a great time kayaking with Jorge to the Marble caves, great guide and gear was well maintained. 7am is the perfect time, make sure to dress well, since it is really cold.
We had such a fantastic day out on the Exploradres Glacier for an experience of a lifetime. As older participants we were particularly grateful for the care and attention given by our guides Anita and Andrea that made the experience all the more enjoyable. Thank you Valle Leones.
Absolutely brilliant experience of walking on a glacier. The organisation was perfect. The guides, Andrea and Anita, were excellent. I would 100% recommend. And as a bonus, the snack pack was very varied and delicious.
We had an awesome experience during both kayaking and hiking trips. Everything was very well organized and delivered in a very friendly atmosphere. Special shout out to our guides, Rodrigo and Felipe, who made sure our whole family had a blast on lake and on glacier while staying safe!!! Family friendly.
Perfect! We had a wonderful day on the glacier with Matias and highly recommend. We felt safe and were in good hands. The coordinations before the trip were also very easy and responsive.
Well organized trip! Funny tourguide with a lot of knowledge! Great experience, we would do it again!
I highly recommend ! I did the kayak and trekking on glacier and the guide were amazing.
Awesome business and ppl. Highly recommended

I have done the 2 day tour (Aventura Osada). Everything was perfect. The 1st day we hiked to the Mirador and then we went to the kayak close to the glacier. The 2nd day I'm joining for the boat tour to the glacier before coming back to the city. The tents and the food were nice. I recommend doing this tour with the agency
Cannot say enough good things about Tomas and Edguardo. They were incredibly warm and receptive upon our arrival, taking special care to explain things to us as we were the only English speakers on the tour. While the boat is small they do their best to make everyone comfortable and its small size allows it to navigate to areas unreachable by other boats including right next to the glacier. Upon our arrival to the glacier we were welcomed to the top deck where we enjoyed stunning views. Soon we were offered drinks and toasted life and the glacier. They joked, explained nuances of local wildlife and curated an incredible atmosphere for all. After enjoying a delicious lunch we raised our glasses for a final time saying goodbye to the glacier as Edguardo skillfully picked his way through the ice fields. As we returned his sharp eye caught sea lions and dolphins. Each time he slowed the boat alerted passengers and skillfully maneuvered to give us all the best view. As we departed we were given a final treat, sweet bread and a friendly smile saw us off to our next adventure. Don’t miss this gem of an experience if you are in the area!! Would recommend to anyone!
Took a tour to San Rafael Lagoon with this company and had a wonderful time. The staff on the boat were wonderful. The food was tasty and the views were amazing. Would highly recommend using this company.
Excursion to Laguna San Rafael. The glacier is stunning, and the captain and assistant, capable and very helpful. It would be a five-star review were it not for the boat—cramped, short-ceilinged, claustrophobic and with poor visibility. Why pay first world prices for third world equipment? So many of us male passangers hit our head during the trip, it was both comical and painful (to the owner who likes to make excuses, beware: a lawsuit from a seriously injured passenger could terminate your business). Once you get to the glacier, there is no space to stay outside. The boat is just too small and the going, back and forth, very rough. A very uncomfortable and claustrophobic outing. Not recommended at all.
We had a great time with Valentina and Eduardo, they will do everything to make you have a great experience! The glacier and the way there are amazing, really recommended!
AMAZING! Even though the excursion is expensive its worth every penny! First of all the people running the business were super cool young and love nature and ecology. So thumbs up for this and they deserve lots of support. Second the trip and the views of the glacier! Omg! One should experience to understand! The trip was magical and the highlight of our journey to chile! Higly reccomended!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience with Destino Patagonia. We really enjoyed our 2 days 1 night trip at Glacier San Rafael and would recommend it to anybody at any age. The staff of both the hike and boat experiences spoke a very good english, tried to make the trip special and accomodate any requests! Best, Massimo
We had an amazing day at the San Rafael glacier thanks to Destino Patagonia. The boat crew kept us well-fed with plenty of snacks and two meals on board. We stayed at the terminus of the glacier for over two hours to enjoy the view and even saw leopard seals napping on glacial ice on our way back! My only complaint would be the transportation to and from the boat dock. We had a very full passenger van that was not comfortable for the 2+ hour ride there and back on a pothole-filled gravel road. I was literally dreading the return ride back to Puerto Rio Tranquilo. This company should really invest in a larger sprinter van to make their guests more comfortable, especially for the price of the tour.

We had the Exploradores Tour with Eugenio (just me my girlfriend and him) and it was incredible. We found multiple large and deep caves and Eugenio allowed us to to climb deep into it and he didn't waste a chance to offer to take (incredibly good) pictures (with our camera). He is from here and shared a lot of knowledge about the glaciares, about the village and also some personal stories (spanish!). Felt like he had also fun. Really great experience and no tourist tour feeling at all. (Be ready for Eugenios rallye driving skills on the way back :D)
wonderful excursion to the expladores glacier with an amazing guide, we went in a lot of ice caves
(Translated by Google) Excellent service, I went with 3 other friends to the Glaciar Exploradores excursion, it was very good, we entered several caves inside the glacier, delicious food, the two guides Eugenio and Claudio were very friendly and good photographers, the videos and photos that I took with our cell phones very good, it is important to have good memories! (Translated by Google) Terrible experience, we went with a group of 8 friends to the glacier explorers expedition, they divided us into 2 vehicles, the one that belonged to me and 2 friends was going at 120 km/h on a 50 km/h road. Despite telling the guide to slow down, he did not change his speed, even making dangerous advances and skidding several times. Putting our lives at risk. I didn't take a photo of the license plate, but I'll get it and report it to the police. Did a tour there.. Did the full marble tour and it was great.... Really amazing views.
The Marble Caves of Chile are truly one of nature’s most breathtaking masterpieces! Located on the stunning turquoise waters of General Carrera Lake, these caves are a hidden gem that feels almost otherworldly. The swirling patterns of blue, white, and gray marble, shaped over thousands of years by water and wind, create a mesmerizing, dreamlike experience. Taking a small boat or kayak through the caves is unforgettable — as the light shifts throughout the day, the colors of the water reflect beautifully off the smooth stone walls, turning the whole place into a living piece of art. It’s quiet, peaceful, and awe-inspiring — the kind of place that makes you feel deeply connected to nature. The journey to get there is an adventure in itself, but absolutely worth it. Once you see the Marble Caves up close, you realize photos can’t possibly capture their magic. 📍 Travel Tip: Visit on a sunny day — the sunlight transforms the lake into shades of turquoise and sapphire, making the caves glow from within.
Catedral de Mármol (Marble Cathedral) in Chile’s Patagonia is a mesmerizing natural wonder sculpted by wind and water over centuries. The swirling blue and white marble formations, reflected in the turquoise waters of Lake General Carrera, create a surreal, dreamlike atmosphere. Best explored by small boat or kayak, the caves offer an intimate connection with nature’s artistry. Remote but worth the journey, this site is a highlight of Chile’s wild and pristine beauty.
An absolutely stunning spot! I recommend renting a kayak and going on a tour to learn about the caves and the local area.
Nice place, I would say, based on my experience, there’s quite much hype about this place but it is a good one..but it’s not about the best you can do in the Patagonian region…in my next visit I’ll probably skip it
The cave is stunning and truly unique. I recommend booking a 3-hour kayak tour, through which you can get up close, and get inside the tunnel. Bear in mind though sometimes the port may be closed due to high wind, so be patient. The weather changes quickly here.
I thought the marble caves would be quite touristy and commercial, but I was happily mistaken! It is indeed incredible. I highly recommend doing it with a kayak, as you can get closer and do it more slowly. It is not so tiring and the agencies are super helpful. Seek a tour in Rio Tranquilo.
We did the kayaking tour through the caves and it was incredible! We got to see the sunrise from the mountains and enjoy our morning on the water. Be careful because it gets really windy on the lake and then all the powerboats come to show the tourists the caves. I recommend using a kayak angency and going in the morning before the weather gets really bad.

Rooms were abit dated but had everthing you needed, your not there to spend time in the room.
I came with a group for 2 nights. The "cabanas" are large, two rooms with bathroom, a hall and kitchen with all the stuff. Everything simple and very nice. We booked with them two trips: one day trip to San Rafael glacier - marvelous - and a boat trip to fantastic caverns at General Carrera lake.
The owner is lovely! We had such a nive stay in our cabana. The fireplace made sure we always had a warm cabana. They cleaned our cabana everyday. She even helped us with excursions and was just so friendly! We stayed here for 5 nights and we really enjoyed our stay here!!! Would 101% recommand it!!
Overpriced! 90.000 for cabaña. And the wood burning stove didn’t work and smoked everywhere sadly. Good location tho
Nice little place to stay. They just need a fire place, hair dryer or something to help you dry out from the rain. The staff is nice and the rooms were clean.
Adequate accommodations, nothing special. We stayed in cabin number 3 and the queen bed was almost unbearable...felt like the sheet was the only thing covering the springs. The single beds in the other room were far more comfortable. Our group also had cabin 5 which did have fairly comfortable beds, including the queen...so it's hit or miss. It is advertised to have WiFi, but it does NOT. They do have pot(s) and pan(s) for cooking, but again, quality is questionable. Four place settings per cabin, which was nice. There is also a good burning stove in each cabin, and they regularly stock you with wood to keep it going. I think they will even get the fire started for you if you ask. One last note regarding the entire town of Puerto Tranquilo: people are not very friendly in general, and they seem to regard tourists as a bothersome necessity. One example: we regularly had the locals blatantly cut in front of us at the "supermercado", and the cashier be totally fine with it. So just be aware. Also, don't expect to get reliable directions from most locals either!
Such nice helpful people, great accommodations and the cafe that is on the property is Wonderful!!! Excellent desserts and coffee, friendly and super wifi! Thank You All!!!
Finding the place was slightly confusing as the sign is in front of a half constructed building. But the office is tucked just behind the building. For housing in Rio Tranquilo I don't think you'll find much better. Patagucci
