Cerro Catedral in Argentina is gorgeous! Views are breathtaking, with panoramic landscapes of the Andes. Whether you’re skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer, the scenery is unmatched. It’s the perfect spot to immerse yourself in nature and take in some of the most beautiful views Argentina has to offer. Highly recommend!
Daniel A — Google review
Amazing place, the best mountain in South America. But, veeeery busy for beginners!
Julio D — Google review
The mountain is truly beautiful, but the skiing is quite disappointing. While Bariloche is undoubtedly a beautiful place to visit, it’s important to manage your expectations regarding the skiing quality.
Javier F — Google review
literally one of my top three favorite places in bariloche. we went sledding and had SO much fun. can't wait to go back.
Marie H — Google review
Great place to visit. Stunning views and a great place to so snowboard&Ski, 100% recommended
Greg — Google review
If this is the best place you can ski in Latin America then i have bad news for you guys… 1. No snow 2. Tons of people 3. No wind but they closed top routes saying that there is a wind there and it’s not safe (the weather was really peaceful and pleasant… They have like 6-8 snow machines but they don’t put it in places where there’s no snow 4. The price is higher than in Armenia and in Russia but the slopes are worse Just for your information. The snow level as it is shown on photos is just unacceptable for any ski resort So if you are looking for place where you want to learn how to ski or improve your skills or just to enjoy skiing - I don’t think this is an option
Music C — Google review
Beautiful ! I had so much fun in the snow. Whoever wants to go there by taxi just make sure to talk to your taxi driver if they can pick you up after, because there is no cars available to get back after night.
Maria V — Google review
Los precios son locos hoy en dia. No excusas. Greed. The prices nowadays are as expensive as the USA and shorter slopes. Don’t bother.

Refugio Frey is a simple guesthouse located in a national park, offering basic dorms, a guest kitchen, and dining facilities. Unlike other mountain refuges in Bariloche that are open seasonally, Refugio Frey welcomes visitors year-round and caters to backcountry skiers and mountaineers during the winter months.
Free water at the top. Last mile is approx 1000 feet gain. No toilet paper at top. Shaded in the middle section. Nice cool and refreshing dip at the top.

I hike a lot and I love nature exploration. This hike was one of my best solo hiking experiences. I started real late so almost my entire way back down I hiked in the dark with no flashlight or headlamps and no backpack… I know sounds stupid, especially for a tourist who who has never been here before. Anyhow reaching the top and having a fresh pizza cooked in the oven before my eyes and having a fresh hot coffee was so rewarding. I loved it. In the bottom where I started it was hot and I was sweating 2/3 up it started snowing, at the peak where the shelter and the cafe were, it was freezing cold. Having my pizza while looking out the window to that frozen lake and beautiful spiky mountains was just indescribably amazing, which I will never forget!
Freddie A — Google review
Lovely warm refuge with comfy beds and home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner 😊 A three course dinner was around $25,000 peso per person and breakfast $13,000 - cash only.
Monica M — Google review
The Refugio was located by the lake. We did not stay over night but also the hike up there was not too hard to do a day trip, except you want to do some climbing which would require an overnight. Refugio offers some basic food and full of drinks. Good place for refreshment and shelter yourself from the wind while you up there. Toilets are basic but also clean. Overall I believe it is a place worth visit in Bariloche.
Kornjan T — Google review
Great hike from Cerro Catedral parking lot. The route is easy although requires a final push in the last 2km. That's where it becomes really steep. Until this final push you will be able to enjoy a beautiful forest with beautiful flowers and trees. Be sure to enjoy it.
Flávio R — Google review
Coming from Villa Catedral it is one of the most amazing hikes that I've done. The refugio itself it's very cozy, sells drinks (recommend the hot chocolate) and from 1pm sells food like pizza. Very unique athmosphere, I recommend to get here early because around the 1pm it started to get more crowdy. Maybe aim to arrive before 1pm just in time to order some hot food. I had a look at the dorm and wouldn't mind spending a night there, must be pretty cool.
Petr V — Google review
Lovely spot and great people. Camping is free if you have your own tent. They even rented me a sleeping bag!
Chris W — Google review
I came in the autumn and it was really nice. The path was completely covered with snow which made the trip quite challenging but much more fun and advantageous. Be ready for any weather, it looks different once you get higher in altitude. The food provided is ok, nothing special but given the location it absolutely suffices. Hot tea, coffee cakes, wine and beer are possible to purchase.

Sights & Landmarks
Centro Cívico Bariloche is the focal point of the town, featuring Alpine-inspired architecture and a museum that showcases the region's history. The buildings, constructed from timber and local stone, were designed in 1939 by Ernesto de Estrada in collaboration with renowned architect Alejandro Bustillo. At the main plaza, an equestrian statue of General Roca stands amidst graffiti art.
The civic center is full of culture and beauty. There are countless things to do. You can always find things to do to keep you entertained and food of all varieties. The Argentinians are respectful, helpful, and friendly.
Laura C — Google review
Centro Civico was built by architect Ernesto de Estrada.  Basically, like the main square, every town has one.  The place where large cultural and social events are often held.  Its architecture has European and North American influences, reflecting the surrounding mountains and woods. Walk around and take in the charming stone walls, wooden doors and Lake Nahuel Huapi in the background.  Museo de la Patagonia is located here and this is worth a visit.  I enjoyed walking around the square taking in the atmosphere and scenery.
Taylor D — Google review
Pet and family oriented. Clean and well maintained grass.
M M — Google review
The heart of Bariloche, the civic center is a public plaza. Constructed in 1940, the cobbled plaza is bounded by stone and log buildings housing the Municipality of Bariloche (the one with the clock tower), the city library, a museum and the city post office. At the center of the plaza is the equestrian statue of General Julio Argentino Roca, military leader and statesman. He served 2 terms as President of Argentina, for a total of 12 years, apparently the longest serving president. The plaza appears to be a center of community and civic activities throughout the year.
A ( — Google review
Cool civic center with lots to see. Lots of people offering exchange, but you get a fine rate at Western Union.
David R — Google review
Fun evening. We stumbled on a great evening in the square. Games, DJ and lots of people. So nice to enjoy the sun.

Cerro Otto

Nature & Parks
Cerro Otto, located within Nahuel Huapi National Park, is a mountain that offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lago Nahuel Huapi and the Andes from its 1,405-meter summit. Accessible by car, foot, or cable car, it provides hiking and biking trails in addition to seasonal cross-country ski trails. While the cable cars may undergo maintenance at times, visitors can still enjoy the stunning scenery and outdoor activities such as skiing during winter.
Another high Mountain View of lakes region of Bariloche. It’s accessible by cable car in a residential area of town. The view of the lakes and the Patagonian Alps is certainly magnificent. It is less busy than Cerro Campanario, just a couple of kilometers away.
Globetrotter — Google review
Beautiful views across the lago as you walk up to the summit. Only negative is the extortionate‘access charge’ to the cerro complex which is a fixed rate per person regardless. You can’t avoid it if you want to take the cable car back down.
Louise — Google review
For those trying to drive to Cerro Otto, the road is currently closed at the Piedras Blancas, and you will be denied access. There are some nice views near the parking lot, so still a worthwhile experience.
Brandon N — Google review
Cerro Otto, located near Bariloche, Argentina, is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The summit offers stunning panoramic views of Nahuel Huapi Lake, snow-capped Andes, and surrounding forests. Accessible by cable car or hiking trails, it features a rotating restaurant, an art gallery, and outdoor activities like trekking and sledding. The serene beauty and variety of attractions make Cerro Otto a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
Dani B — Google review
Worth a gondola ride, nice view over Bariloche and the lake
Joerg H — Google review
Beautiful place and walk with friends. Not too challenging and depending how close you can get to it in a vehicle you can do this as a day trek in just a few hours. The views are stunning and it’s one of the best examples of Lenga trees. It’s frustrating that part of the trek goes through “private land” of the Aralauquen estate - how on earth was part of a national park (and a large part at that) sold privately to become a playground for Bariloche’s rich and famous. Disgraceful really and surely there must have been some brown envelopes passed to ensure that this happened. In any case it’s a beautiful landscape and the views over Lago Gutierrez are sublime. Hopefully the whole trek returns to public hands soon.
Kevin M — Google review
Great, good price convenient transportation from Bariloche downtown, the restaurant really good and a lot of stuff to do in the top, recommend it
Lucio M — Google review
Fantastic mountaintop outdoorsman's dream. This venue has everything to keep a lover of the outdoors busy for many days and repeated trips to take advantage of all of the offerings. Accessible by car on a challenging gravel road to the top of the mountain. Hiking available. Parking is at a premium however! Many trails of various challenge levels. Highly recommended. Fantastic scenery.

Cerro Campanario

Mentioned on
5 lists
Cerro Campanario, often hailed as one of the top 5 best views globally, offers breathtaking panoramic vistas that seem to extend endlessly in every direction. The short but challenging 30-40 minute hike leads to a viewing platform providing different orientations over all the lakes. At the summit, visitors can also enjoy souvenir shopping and take in the stunning scenery through a 180-degree window at the cafe.
Review of Cerro Campanario: Cerro Campanario is a must-visit spot in Bariloche, offering one of the most stunning panoramic views in the region. The hike to the top is short but steep, taking about 30-40 minutes depending on your pace. For those who prefer not to hike, there’s a convenient chairlift that takes you up in just a few minutes. Once at the summit, you’re rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding lakes, forests, and mountains. It’s the perfect spot for photography or simply enjoying the natural beauty of Patagonia. There’s also a small café at the top where you can relax with a coffee or snack while taking in the views. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes if you plan to hike, as the trail can be slippery in some areas. It’s a relatively easy climb, suitable for families and people of all ages. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bariloche!
Andrey S — Google review
Hike to a stunning view at the top looking out to the mountains and lakes. You can also take the cable car up to the top. The hike up can get a little steep in places and also the soil can be somewhat loose. But even if you do not hike very much, take your time and you can complete it. Bring water with you. There is a restaurant at the top and a viewing platform.
Anthony R — Google review
A most magnificent view of the lakes and snow capped Patagonian Alps in Bariloche 😎😎😎😎😎. The colors are astounding! It’s a natural heavenly panorama that will stay to one’s memory for a very long time.
A ( — Google review
Cerro Campanario in Bariloche is absolutely stunning. The panoramic views from the top are unbelievable - sparkling lakes, majestic mountains, and the incredible Patagonian landscape stretching as far as you can see. It’s like standing inside a postcard. Getting there was surprisingly quick and easy by public transport, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable. The chairlift ride is fun, and once you reach the top, you’ll want to stay forever. A must-visit highlight in Bariloche
Hanna T — Google review
My cousin and I hiked up to Cerro Campanero. It took us about 40 mins up and 40 mins down. The climb was nice and often shaded, and the view from the top was incredible. We stopped at the cafe for a snack and enjoyed the view, then climbed back down.
Ryan S — Google review
Very difficult 30-min hike with a lot of dark dust ( don’t wear white shoes, slippers or sandals ) . The way down takes approx 15 min and pretty easy. you may want to take a walking cane or a piece of wood for older people. The view is breathtaking and one of the best I ever seen! There is a cafe on the top. The last way out was at 6:45pm ( January 19th)
Julia K — Google review
Great clear views from the top.
George L — Google review
A must do if you are in Bariloche. One of the best views anywhere.

The Cathedral Our Lady of Nahuel Huapi, also known as Nuestra Senora de Nahuel Huapi, is a monumental neo-gothic building located in Bariloche next to the lake. Designed by architect Alejandro Bustillo and completed in 1947, this cathedral boasts impressive walls, a gigantic dome, and stunning stained-glass windows depicting biblical stories and historical figures from the area.
Absolutely stunning church. The stained glass alone is worth the visit
David R — Google review
I liked the architecture of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Nahuel Huapi. Inside, the portals seem to be made of reinforced concrete, although from the outside, the building appears to be made of stone. It was designed by architect Alejandro Bustillo and inaugurated in 1946. The stained glass windows have a style reminiscent of those created by the stone masons of the ancient Templars in the 11th century.
César A — Google review
Beautiful historic place. The arquitecture is amazing, the vitrauxs are incredible and the surroundings are breathtaking. Pity we couldn't buy anything at the little shop they have there as they only take cash.
Silvia M — Google review
Bariloche’s cathedral is an interesting modern structure built during WWII. Yet it is a classic gothic architecture. The high vaulted ceilings in both the nave and aisles, plus the stained glass windows high up the walls are all very gothic. Indeed, everything about the structural design is a throwback to the Middle Ages. Strangely beautiful indeed 😎😎😎. The interior is quite modern, the idols and images including a painting are unmistakably 20th century designs.
A ( — Google review
Incredible place to visit. Stunning architecture, including the beautiful glass paintings. A very calming vibe inside.
Raunak P — Google review
Rating it a 5 star because of it close location to the beautiful lake and its amazing mountains. The view is exceptional. Also, it has a large front and back yard to relax on a afternoon Finally, it is in the main center of the town. Entrance is free.
Antoine A — Google review
According to Google the church was open. I walked around it and tried all the doors but they were locked. I was however, able to take in the neo-gothic characteristics, with clear European architectural influence. Stunning. The Cathedral of San Carlos de Bariloche, “Our Lady of Nahuel Huapi,” is the main Catholic church in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina.
Taylor D — Google review
A beautiful large Cathedral in Bariloche that sits right off the water. We were able to explore the inside of the cathedral and just admired all of the stained glass windows, the main altar and side chapels. Worth a trip inside if traveling in Bariloche.

Alto El Fuego is a charming restaurant nestled in San Carlos de Bariloche, housed in a beautifully restored wooden building dating back to 1941. This inviting eatery sits on a hill near the Civic Center and boasts an open grill that greets you as soon as you step inside. The ambiance is minimalist yet warm, making it the perfect spot for both locals and visitors alike, including many international guests.
Probably the best ribeye steak I have had in my life, well I am only 55 :) This place is the best steakhouse in Bariloche, we visited a few "famous" ones and this is hands down our favorite. In fact we came twice . The ribeye was done Argentinian medium "on the point" and it was grilled to perfection. Juicy with full flavors. We also took the grilled vegetables which are a great side to the steak. The music and atmosphere is pleasant a lot of 80s music and other classics. Service was super friendly and they made us feel relaxed even with our lack of Spanish. The only recommendations I will note is that it's a shame they don't offer an affordable glass of red wine in the menu to make it absolutely perfect ;) Now a life journey begins to find something similar to their steaks, which I know will be impossible.
Zohar K — Google review
The waiters spoke great English, we had a very good wine. Got a table Easily. Food was very tasty, the meat tender and juicy. Vegetables fresh and the salad and the potatoes excellent. He had 1/2 portions so we could try three different meat styles. Portions are very big otherwise, good to share. And try the grilled cheese.
Teresa S — Google review
Wow! Wow, wow! You absolutely must come here for dinner when you are in Bariloche. Everything about this place is perfect! A charming outside, a cozy inside, excellent service, and amazing food! We had the Denver Steak, Provoleta (grilled cheese, heavenly!), grilled vegetables (including the best eggplant of my life!). Even the placemats are a work of art and the background music was great!
Sonja B — Google review
Amazing lamb and trout. Nice smoky and delicious, and extremely tender. Not too fatty which makes it delicious to eat. The vegetable and potato as a side are also scrumptious. The waiters and service is excellent. Only factor is that it is quite expensive…
P S — Google review
Couldn’t say anything bad about this place. We had lamb? The sirloin, the roasted veggies, empanadas, and the chorizo with chimichurri. All of it was amazing. They also had homemade bread that was great. Went with family and we couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. Our waitress was wonderful and was willing to speak English to us even though we speak Spanish. Very accommodating. Would recommend it to anyone who wants some good Argentine grilled meats!
Russ C — Google review
I ordered medium rare on my steak but I got welldone. Very disappointed but it was still very tasty.
김윤철 — Google review
Just everything about this place is fantastic. The setting, the food, the service. We had the Trout (Trucha) and the Fillet Mingon. Both were amazing. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, spoke great english and was happy to endure our efforts to practice our poor spanish! Wine list was extensive too. Would definitely recommend, and likely will go back a second time before we leave (they are just not open on Sunday).
Brendan M — Google review
Great spot and a solid treatment of meat. I would return. the steak was perfect. The short ribs and lamb were good. the sides were noteworthy. The wine was a clear winner! I would dine here again

Catedral Alta Patagonia

Ski resort
Outdoor Activities
Catedral Alta Patagonia is an all-year-round destination with a variety of entertainment options for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The base village provides ample access to 1,480 acres of snow-covered terrain via 38 lifts. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views while skiing on top of the clouds or take a leisurely stroll up the mountain as pedestrians are welcome too.
Can’t beat the views at this place. Top of the mountain is gorgeous!!!! Reminds me of Lake Tahoe or Alaska. The mountain definitely gets crowded and the lines can get long. The snow at the top is much better than the snow at the bottom. There is a free parking lot with a bus shuttle. You can also pay to park in the front which is 3,500 pesos. The village is cool to walk around and grab food. Recommend going to the restaurant at the top. It’s usually a wait to get a table but great views up there with good food.
Abigail A — Google review
This is a great location for varied and interesting skiing for those coming from the Northern Hemisphere, but a few words of caution: The good bits - Stunning setting with view of the high Andes and the local lakes; it is breathtaking - A lot of wide, interesting skiing - A number of fast lifts - New snow cannons ensured a way home by skis - Lots of potential for off-piste - Some really nice restaurants in resort - People are friendly and seem very genuine - We mad friends with the local dogs who roam around the resort and the mountain. The not-so-good bits: - We had mixed weather (which is not the ski lift company's fault) and still enjoyed ourselves though; in Patagonia, as the locals say, the weather changes very quickly. - Some new lifts are slow, making queues for the fast ones - Snow making needs extending (only one home run was open whilst we were here) - The road to resort (which we had to walk on with ski boots) is not a pleasant experience and feels unsafe: the mud and rock 'pavement' is often parked on by cars, so you have to dice with death and avoid the coaches whizzing by as you tread on the asphalt
Gary W — Google review
Amazing skiing, well groomed runs, lifts that work great. Get there early if you do not want to wait to go up the Amanay lift, because after the pedestrians arrive the line and wait gets crazy long. Download the Catedral App for live updates on runs and lifts that are open/closed and the estimated wait times. SPECTACULAR views from the top
Grek S — Google review
Catedral is the biggest ski resort in Argentina by all standards: skiable area, infrastructure and runs. It gets packed and wind conditions tends to close a few of the lifts. Still, it’s a great place for skiers of all levels, having the biggest beginners area in the country as well. And more recently they have invested in a few snow cannons on that area that allow all-season snow to practice. Runs are good, long enough even though the off piste terrain is not that challenging or allowing.
Paulo P — Google review
Cerro Catedral is working full time already! Magic Carpet zone working 100% (Culipatín ya'll). Lifts still not working though (planned to start by mid June). Ski slopes for beginners that are currently open: Princesa and Evento. Bear in mind no fresh snow since the early snowstorm May 9th. Still early season! On the bright side: everything is free for all. No restrooms though. If you happen to need one, I'm gonna save you the pain and tell you to go straight to the McDonald's and buy yourself a cup coffee to get the privilege of a using a restroom 😉
Christian A — Google review
Amazing place but like all ski station, elevated prices.
Juliana C — Google review
The snow can be soft and the might need more high speed lifts up top, but overall excellent facilities for someone who needs a skiing fix in August. I skied mid week and lift lines were not bad. I did here someone complain about the beginning lessons, but there are other options for that at the mountain.
Mark T — Google review
Experienced the lowest part of mountain and in high season. Prices are quite high, concerning everything there. You have several options for equipment rental. There is a bus line (55) up there and down. Although, to go down you will face crowded buses and huge queues. The sporting space for begginers is quite good but very very crowded around 1-3pm.

Argentinian restaurant
El Boliche de Alberto is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Argentinian cuisine. This charming restaurant showcases an impressive selection of meat cuts, including the renowned Chorizo steak and tender Patagonian lamb, all prepared with exceptional quality. Diners can enjoy watching the skilled parrillero at work as he expertly grills meats right before their eyes, adding to the overall experience. The menu also features delightful side dishes like crispy fried potatoes and fresh salads that perfectly complement the main courses.
Excellent parilla and service. Argentine beef is the best. Dinner starts at 8pm, that’s kind of late to digest a big steak, so I came here twice for lunch instead, easier to get a seat too.
K C — Google review
Their meat especially the Rib-Eye is excellent quality and tenderness in medium. Their sales are fresh and tasty and portions are huge. Opt for the 1/2 portions in meat or sharing. Side dishes are also very huge and are best shared. We had to wait 15-20 minutes with was very quickly.
Teresa S — Google review
A truly exceptional place. The steak and the salad was perfect, the wine delicious, bread and oil superb. Our only gripe was the size of the bowl of fries we ordered. Very good but was far too much! The service was friendly and prices reasonable. Highly recommend it.
Julie B — Google review
Hello. I would like to share some feedback on our recent visit. Overall, the food was great, especially the meat and other dishes. However, we found a small stone in the sauce of one of our meals. The waiter was quick to replace the sauce, but we were a bit disappointed that no further apology, such as a discount or a complimentary item, was offered. For a restaurant of this standard, we expected a bit more attention to this kind of issue. I hope this feedback is helpful. Thank you for the otherwise lovely dinner.
Polina S — Google review
We have been here 26 years ago and came again today. The food is fantastic, traditional and high quality. The service was wonderful and professional. We will come back again!
Amir S — Google review
Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't reflect the reviews. While the meat is of good quality, it is very overpriced for what you get. When you are charging these prices, it is the expectation that you provide good customer service and a bit more attention to detail. The service here is very rushed and feels like they just want you in and out as fast as possible. Leaving the product stickers on the fruit and veg in the salads is not a good look at all. Don't even try the chimichurri as it is just oil and doesn't reflect true chimichurri from a good Argentinean restaurant or cafe. I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Mike C — Google review
This place is probably the most famous and highly recommended restaurant in Bariloche. Definitely recommend but it gets busy. They opened a second location around the corner. We lined up 20 minutes before they opened and was able to get seated for lunch. The grilled meats are amazing everything is delicious. I wish I had room for dessert. Better to go with more people so you can try more food. Staff is great. Very friendly and helpful.

Oleg K — Google review
Highly overrated. Burgers look better than they taste. Ordered the Argentina and Española burgers. The meat has very little flavor, not sure if it is seasoned at all. And while there’s so many toppings, you can hardly taste anything. Not much thought went into crafting a really tasty burger, they just tried to cram as many toppings as possible and hope for the best. There is another burger place here we tried called Weiss which is much better and for almost the same price, comes with a craft beer. If you’re from the U.S. especially and have had some good burgers, you will be sorely disappointed.

We went on lunch time, there were nobody. The waitress came to take our drink order when we arrive in 3min. After we wait 40 minutes before she come to take our order for the food.. at least we have our food 7min after the order. But the meat of the burger was disgusting, it tastes burnt and unwashed plaque for a long time. The chicken was a little better but not that good. Over price, disgusting and terrible service go somewhere else!!

We arrived quite to Bariloche and I ordered here through WhatsApp just 15 minutes they were closing down and these guys allowed me to pay by cash. They actually save our lives with these amazing burgers, highly recommended!

Argentinian restaurant

Wow!

Great spot and a solid treatment of meat. I would return. the steak was perfect. The short ribs and lamb were good. the sides were noteworthy. The wine was a clear winner! I would dine here again

Chocolate cafe
Chocolate shop
Mamuschka, located on Calle Mitre 298, is a must-visit chocolate shop in Bariloche. This local favorite offers an extensive selection of chocolates and candies that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. The brand's history dates back to 1988 when they introduced their signature laminated chocolate with dulce de leche. Known for using carefully selected cocoa beans from their places of origin, Mamuschka has become a prominent figure in the town's chocolate scene.
Excellent chocolate, excellent desserts, and, surprisingly, excellent espresso. Considering it’s a tourist spot, the prices are decent compared to other high-end chocolate shops on Mitre. The service is fast and the employees are friendly. However, do be warned that this establishment gets rather crowded.

Huge and famous traditional chocolate shop in Bariloche 🍫 Definitely a place you have to at least visit if you are in town. Gets a little bit busy but the service was great. Most of the Chocolate prices cost around $9000 1/4 kg and $17500 1/2 kg The quality is really good but end up being a little bit expensive if you want to try different chocolate products.

Beautiful store “chocolate lover’s heaven”! If you pay in US dollars be prepared to bring us$50 or $100 bills as us&50 is the minimum purchase otherwise credit card is accepted with purchase minimum.

Everything here is delicious! 😋🤤 You go in dine in or grab a ticket for a personal box. Line was long I wanted chocolates and I went to the shorter line for the pre made box of chocolates, the box didn't even last 2 days and I'm not a crazy sweets person. Every chocolate has a perfect balance not bitter not too sweet just has you craving more!

We loved this place. It was really hard to fine a good restaurant in Bariloche Centro, so we were glad to find this. It is located in a residencial area, and the restaurant is served by its owner Lucila. We did A La Carta menu, and everything was amazing. Great portions and flavors. They also have a good selection of wines to your disposal. Highly recommended.

Small venue, next to the house belonging to the couple who run it. The best meal we've found so far (in 10 days) in Argentina. Relatively inexpensive if you're from the USA and benefiting from the strong dollar exchange rate. We tried the appetizer sampler for two, with five different items, all delicious. The stuffed chicken and the lamb kabob were great, nicely presented. Good whole-wheat bread. The chocolate and lemon deserts were also excellent. We're likely to return soon.

Best meal of my trip to Bariloche. Very understated, charming, and kind host. Run by a husband and wife in resto attached to their house. Incredible tasting menu with solid Pinot Noir for about US$30. Varied courses, even made rabbit taste incredible. The only drawback is it’s not close to town of Bariloche or the mountain or the lake...but the experience is worth the drive. Very responsive to email and helpful with local recommendations.

Chimi Deli Cocina para Todos in San Carlos de Bariloche is a delightful culinary destination that offers an extensive menu featuring 41 diverse dishes and beverages. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it perfect for gatherings or intimate dinners. Guests have enjoyed the welcoming staff and the vibrant ambiance, which adds to the overall dining experience. While some diners found certain dishes like steak or gnocchi lacking in flavor, others raved about their meals, particularly the veggie lasagna and fresh fish options.
This is the most delicious and accessible restaurant I’ve ever been to! We have nothing quite like this in the UK - Chimi deli provides not only really top quality delicious food (hello ravioli negro con truche) but also is so centred around principles of inclusivity and accessibility that it is just a real joy to be there. The staff are lovely, there are wheelchair accessible toilets, there is a braille menu available, many of the staff know sign language and it’s just a really gorgeous and lovely place to hang out. Great beer as well!

Charming spot with a warm, inviting decor situated on one of the main avenues in San Carlos de Bariloche. The menu offers a well-rounded selection, catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers with appealing choices. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, aiming for balanced and enjoyable flavors. Pricing is fair given the location, and the staff provides attentive, friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a fantastic experience at CHIMI DELI in Bariloche. We enjoyed two desserts, each unique and incredibly tasty: one rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, the other refreshing with amazing texture and flavors. We also tried mate for the first time, and the staff warmly guided us through the tradition, making the moment special and fun. The cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food made my visit truly memorable. A must-visit for anyone who loves great desserts and authentic Argentine vibes

Came here a few times while in Bariloche. Has a large variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Some of the meals felt like they were missing something (a bit more flavor). But the food was prepared fresh. A couple of times our food would come out cold, not sure if it was prepared and held to be given out. The service was nice by some, while others seemed like they had something better to do and were a bit rude/dry. They have a lot of pastries and desserts that look good.

We had such a great experience eating at Chimi. We came for an early dinner and the restaurant was fairly empty. The staff welcomed us and brought a basket of bread and sauce for us to eat while the food was cooking. I got the mint and ginger lemonade and my wife got a beats and orange juice that was delicious. For our mains I ordered a trucha (fish) and my wife got a tofu salad. The food was amazing! All the flavors were great and balanced and the portions were big enough to share with each other. The ambience of the place is warm and the staff was kind. I would definitely go back.

This charming restaurant offers an intimate dining experience on its second floor, where guests can enjoy stunning views of the water while savoring a contemporary menu that celebrates local and seasonal ingredients. The owners invite you into their home-like atmosphere, creating a warm and welcoming environment that enhances your meal.
Me and my partner enjoyed the whole experience. The service, the plates, the presentation & most importantly, the taste and flavours of each plate made us emotional. We are both part of the hospitality industry, and we both agreed that dinning at Quiven was the best culinary experience we had. Facundo was a pleasure to talk to and informed us from the story of the place to each and every course. The plates themselves were magical, each to its own way. Chefs were very professional and a big Bravo to the whole team. 10/10.

Chef Quiven and his 2 sous chefs have put in an incredible amount of detail in each of his innovative creations in his surprise 8-course meal. Every stage of the exquisite meal was an artistic work of creativity combined with flavours, colours, textures, aroma and beauty! This restaurant deserves at least a Michelin Star 🌟 for the menu, wine pairing, acoustic music ambience, and excellent staff service of attentiveness, professionalism, and deep product knowledge 🤩🤩🤩
Monica L — Google review
An unforgettable dining experience — true edible art. We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Quiven Patagonia Kitchen House, and it was truly one of the most magical dining experiences we’ve ever had. We chose the 8-course tasting menu, and every single dish was inspired, thoughtful, and absolutely delicious — true edible art. One standout was the mushroom course — a love letter to Bariloche itself — layered with depth and earthiness that felt both nostalgic and elevated. And the reimagined beef Wellington with a spicy mole? Hands down the best mole I’ve ever had. The creativity in each plate was remarkable, and every bite told a story. While the food alone could justify the rave review, the service is what took the evening from exceptional to unforgettable. We’re not fluent Spanish speakers, yet our server navigated the language gap with patience, kindness, and genuine warmth. He never made us feel rushed or embarrassed — instead, he took time to help us understand, and made us feel completely at ease. Quiven isn’t just dinner — it’s an experience. If you’re looking for a place where culinary artistry, hospitality, and atmosphere come together seamlessly, this is it. We will be talking about this night for a long time

Absolutely amazing. Every dish was an innovative journey, each plate told a story of Patagonia, its history, and its land. The creativity, flavors, and presentation were outstanding. Dining at Quiven isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience that captures the essence of the region in the most thoughtful and delicious way.
Mariel B — Google review
This was the best meal and experience we’ve had in such a long time. The food, presentation, and service were all top notch. Definitely go!
Mike L — Google review
The food at Quiven is amazing. Simply put there is extremely little holding this restaurant back. I had the 8 course menu, and I enjoyed 7 out of the 8 courses. This place could easily be a 1 / 2 star Michelin restaurant if they upgraded their drinks. The food, atmosphere and service is already at that high standard. I just felt like their drink selection was very lack luster. Now their desserts are out of this world. The pastry chef came out before the final course and got to know what my personal tastes are. Trying to gauge what dessert would fit me best since I dined alone. I can say, the first dessert was so good I added an additional course just to try more of their selection. The dessert here rivals any high dining experiences that I’ve had, and I don’t think anyone will be beating it soon.
Mistype — Google review
Top notch experience. I would recommend the place in a heartbeat. First of all very good not slow service which is not common in Argentina. My server spoke good English, was engaging and in general lovely person. It's pleasing that staffs take pride in what they do and it shows. Then, food. It was interesting, innovative, not boring. Art on a plate, but also very tasty and filling. It's expensive but it's totally worth it.

We stopped here for a quick break and everything tasted like it wasn’t fresh. All the pastries we ordered had a strange almond taste, even though none of them contained almonds. Transportation in San Carlos de Bariloche

Getting around San Carlos de Bariloche can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Airport
Bariloche Airport, also known as San Carlos de Bariloche airport, is a small yet efficient airport that serves both domestic and international flights. During peak seasons, the airport sees multiple daily flights from various cities across South America. The single terminal offers comfortable and clean facilities, with public transport options available for easy access to the city center. While some areas like the waiting zone and boarding lines may experience occasional neglect or chaos, the overall organization of the airport is commendable.
A small but very comfortable airport. They have clean bathrooms, heating, a few shops like Mamushka choclate and Havanna. They have comforable chairs and a playground with a TV for kids

Small airport. Easy to navigate. Limited seats. Very clean when I was there as it was early morning and my flight was the first one out. There are three coffee shops if I am not mistaken. One before security and the other two after security. Suggest not getting there too early for a flight or you will get bored. WIFI is fast.

From the time I got of my Uber, until I was at my gate, 5 minutes!!! Ive had a harder time at McDonald's drive through. Check yourself online 24hrs before, take you e-ticket and passport to security on right side as you enter. Takes you 1 minute to get your stuff scanned and voila! The gate is right there! Very clean bathrooms. 5/5 stars for sure!
Steve G — Google review
Single terminal, comfortable, efficient and clean little airport. Close to the city of San Carlos de Bariloche (some 20 minutes by car to the center of town) and it also offers public transport to town in the form of a bus (insufficient during the high season, but still ice to have). Inside there is plenty of seating, a nice large cafe at arrival level and a small Rapanui cafe (unftunately their superb ice cream is not sold at this airport location) and there are free cell phone charging stations. All planes are boarder through one of three jet bridges, which is very convenient. Baggages are unloaded and put on conveyer belts efficiently when you arrive and you usually can claim your bag within 30 minutes of landing. Flying into and out of Bariloche offers splendid views over the Patagonian landscape (especially mountains and lakes)
Niccolo' B — Google review
The good: internet. The bad: airport is outdated, small for the amount of people transiting. Rental car companies close before last late flights (2330.)
John J — Google review
On a monday morning i was through bag checkin, passport check and security in less than 30min. Waiting times may vary depending on your flight company. Staff was very friendly.

It was a bad experience for us. Our flight was cancelled, problems at our connection in Capital Federal, no rebooking for the same day, we could only travel the following day and not to our destination, we had to do an extra connection. Also, we had to pay for a hotel room, transportation and meals; not to mention we had to postpone work at home for two days. It's a shame that an airport in the capital of a country closes due to fog.
