Absolutely stunning. This is one of the most special locations in the world and should be on everyone’s bucket list. Nowhere is so iconic yet so peaceful. Wonderful! I enjoyed looking at it from different places inside the park but also I did the ice trekking 💯 I was there in late December, the ice trekking was expensive but was good experience! At the end of the ice walking we got some wishky with the ice from the glacier 🫢

Very informative, can't believe I almost skipped this! Amazing views from the area, cool free tours, tickets is $20 dlls or so and $10 extra for the frozen bar that includes a drink. Staff was knowledgeable and fun. Make sure you visit before or after your glacier visit.

The view is really nice at the end of the trek. I recommend you to come for the sunrise, the colors of the sunrise reflect on the Fitz Roy which makes the moment magical The Fitz Roy mountain range is the one featured on the Patagonia brand logo!

We visited the Reserva Laguna Nimez during our stay in El Calafate, and it was a lovely experience. The visit takes about one to one and a half hours at a relaxed pace, following a peaceful trail that loops around the lagoon. The entrance fee is 12,000 ARS per person, which feels fair considering the beauty of the place and the tranquility it offers. You can see a wide variety of birds, including flamingos, ducks, and many local species, it’s a real paradise for bird lovers and photographers. The landscape is stunning, with views of the lagoon, the steppe, and the Andes in the background. The paths are easy to walk and well maintained, making it accessible for most visitors. It’s a perfect stop if you want to enjoy nature, take a break from the busy town, and experience a different side of Patagonia. Bring a camera and take your time, it’s well worth it!

What a great experience. The cliff walk is spectacular with heaps of places to rest and take photos. The signage can be a bit confusing at the top but all roads led to the bottom so you really can’t get lost. Overall it is a great way to experience the glacier from land and see it from many different angles and vantage points. Not to be missed!

(Original) Fuimos hoy 07/08/2022 la primer parte hasta el 3km tiene algunas pendientes complicadas por la cantidad de hielo resbaloso que hay, la peor parte fue en donde hay una cadena clavada en una piedra, el suelo estaba con bloques de hielo super resbalosos y al lado una pendiente super grande, pero por suerte pudimos pasar. Desde el 4km es todo bastante facil es solo caminata y algunas subidas y bajadas pero faciles. El camino estaba bien marcado por huellas de personas que habian subido antes. Si o si hay que ir con grampones en esta época, sino no hay forma de hacerlo, el baston de trekking tambien es util. Hay baños en varias paradas. La laguna estaba totalmente congelada pero era bellisima.

Beautiful waterfall, where you can hang arround and chill by the water. There's also a path that leads to the top, and can get a different view and calmness. I was lucky enough to encounter 3 woodpeckers, very close to the fall. Had a great time

the museum was free. the large garden had samples of native plants, antique tools and machinery and the dedication of this amazing national park. the staff was very helpful and friendly with any question regarding flora, fauna or even excursions. there was a database of tour providers for each category of tours. the introductory video is quite amazing.

We enjoyed our visit to this museum a lot. It consists of 5 rooms, covering the history of Patagonia from the age of dinosaurs to today, with a special focus on the native inhabitants and the war European waged on them. It portays everything in a very understandable and straightforward manner and I had several Aha-moments. Audi guides in I think 9 languages are available, but even with basic Spanish the texts on the walls are helpful and interesting. Generally, they put a lot of thought into how to present information in a digestible way. In summary, I'd really recommend coming here. You will learn a lot - and see some awesome dinosaur skeletons on top! What more can one want? 😀

Here we go, the first day of our 3-day Patagonian trekking adventure, in El Chalten to see the glorious Fitz Roy snowy peak. The hike up was kinda steep but the trekking pole helped. Just make sure you adjust your pole correctly to your height. And an important tip: plant your pole close or beside you— not outward not diagonally. The tour ended in the shallow basin of a picturesque waterfall where you can wade barefoot in the slightly freezing water. If I had known ahead of time I would’ve brought my aqua shoes and a bimpo towel but that didn’t stop me from taking a refreshing feet plunge.
