We visited this place recently, and my son said it’s his favourite attraction so far! It truly offers something for everyone – from young kids to adults. There’s a lot of walking involved, but it’s well worth it. We enjoyed a variety of activities including a train ride, a maze, climbing areas, a 4D cinema, and several fantastic play zones. There’s so much to explore that you could easily spend the whole day there without getting bored. We had some food on-site and were pleasantly surprised by the quality – it was much better than we expected for an attraction like this. The ice creams, in particular, were excellent and a real highlight for my son. One small downside was that my son wanted to ride his bike during the visit, but unfortunately bikes are not allowed inside. It’s understandable for safety and space reasons, but worth knowing in advance. Overall, the tickets were very reasonably priced considering how many attractions are included. It felt like great value for money. We had a brilliant time and will definitely go back one day – there's still more to see and do!
We visited today with our toddler son and had a nice day out. Despite the car park being nearly full, we didn’t have to queue to get in, which was a great start. The staff were friendly on arrival, gave us a map, and invited us to watch a short 15-minute film at the cinema — included in the entry price. We paid £24 for two adults, and our toddler got in for free. The highlight for our little one was definitely the train ride, which we used to get to the play park. The outdoor play area is spacious and well-equipped, though we felt it was more geared toward older children. There were a few bits for toddlers, but not a huge amount. We also explored the indoor play area, which again seemed better suited for slightly older kids. We enjoyed walking the nature trail, crossing the wobbly bridge, and strolling by the lake — all really lovely and peaceful. The sandpit was another fun stop for our toddler. Overall, it’s a large and reasonably priced place to visit. While we probably wouldn’t rush back with a toddler, it might be a better fit for families with children aged 5 and up. Still, it was a pleasant day out with lots of fresh air and space to explore.
We visited with 3 kids (2,11 & 12) and there was a variety of activities and attractions to keep the whole family busy. It was a nice refreshing change from rides and electronics and was great to see the whole family out in the sun enjoying the environment. The older kids used the high ropes which was £7 a go and we think that was fantastic and very cost effective compared to other places we have been recently. Plenty of places for a packed lunch, plenty of places for the kids to be busy and adults also. Highly recommend 🙌 Indoor play area is at the waterside part of the venue which you can walk or catch the small train to. Only reason it was a 4 star and not 5 star review was due to parts of the older side of the place (waterside centre) was looking quite outdated and warn out completed to the main area and building.
Went there on 7th Nov, most things were closed which (due to them preparing for fireworks) we weren't told about it just told they closed early today, I asked at the desk and the staff wasn't aware things were closed?! Equipment is very old and lots of broken things, could do with a complete overhaul safety nets had holes in etc. I can see this place used to be good but definitely needs money reinvestment now, lots todo there if it's all open unfortunately for us it was not.
Me & my 8 year old son had a great time at Conkers today! I thought it was reasonably priced for the activities that we did. Must do's when your there are: Barefoot Walk, Assault Course & The Bush Craft Session..... A massive shout out to Dave who was superb with his knowledge on survival techniques including making a fire & building a shelter! Awesome Dave!
My grandson loves Conkers, both inside & outside activities! The staff are lovely, the Halloween decorations were fab and, even on a cold October day, we spent 3 hours in the playgrounds, on the train & in the Enchanted Forest inside. Our annual ticket costs £63, as my grandson lives in the National Forest & that gave us a £7 discount - he lives 20 mins away, so we can dip in & out all year. Well worth it!
CONKERS is a fantastic family attraction with fun indoor and outdoor activities. From nature trails to a 4D cinema, it offers great value and a mix of adventure and education for all ages. A perfect day out in the heart of the National Forest! It is for kids
Was there for the fireworks, great display. Good food, drinks and service. Was very busy and had to queue but not too bad!

Fantastic day ! Well recommended for everyone-magical peaceful place- beautiful landscape, with lots of happy animals ( over 200 alpacas) great unforgettable experience ! It was ours first time ever horse ridding - daughter’s best birthday present ! I’d like to thank you to our lovely guide Beth , she was supportive, patience ,kind, open, friendly, positive young lady and took great photos on our journey around farm. Plus - Cafe on the farm serve delicious food And all the staff is very helpful Thank you I would love to return again
Was given a riding experience as a gift for this place and it was a great place to have my first riding session. Lovely views to see as you ride around the site. They give you the opportunity of having your photo taken with your phone/camera if you want. The horses we had were nice steady so if you've never done it before it makes it easier to build your confidence and someone walks with you incase you need help with the horses.
Fantastic day out at the Alpaca experience ! Was great seeing the beautiful animals and other animals in great shape , happy in their environment! Cafe was great too ! Really lovely staff inshore and outside the cafe ! Hubby fed the alpacas pigs and really enjoyed it with the bought pellets from the cafe !
We had been gifted the horse ride and afternoon tea and had the best time. I had the pleasure of riding Charlie and Jack had JB. Beautiful boys! Perfect weather and had a very lovely , friendly and chatty member of staff who took us on our walk( can’t remember her name but she was a young girl with blonde hair ) Thank you so much :)
Absolutely amazing day! We did the alpaca walk with guide Joshua, I had Cliff and my partner had Ganache. We had so much fun learning about the alpaca and seeing their silly personalities. We also took a walk around the petting area 💕 Joshua was very knowledgable and fun! Highly recommended! We are already planning on coming back! Maybe doing the pig cuddles next time
This was an amazing experience the alpacas were very cute and funny (we walked haribo rolo liquorice hobnob and muffin). Our amazing guide Joshua gave us an interesting insight on the alpacas as well as guiding us through hobnobs moments .Overall this was a incredible experience that has made us want to buy an alpaca thank to our tour guide Joshua for being a great host five star experience definitely would recommend .
We had a great afternoon here walking out adopted donkey Noddy! Great atmosphere, plenty of parking, on site cafe. They also have loads of farm animals you can see as well as horse riding and donkey walks
An Unforgettable Alpaca Adventure! We had the absolute best time walking with alpacas, and we can't recommend it enough! Winchester and Stanley were the stars of the show—both full of personality and so much fun to be around. Winchester strutted like he owned the place, while Stanley was the curious and mischievous one, keeping us entertained the whole way. A huge shoutout to Molly, our guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience even better. She gave us loads of interesting facts, helped us bond with our alpaca companions, and made sure everything ran smoothly. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does! If you're thinking about trying this experience—do it! We’ll definitely be back for more alpaca adventures. — Bradley & Charley

Had a great morning at Field sport. Went for some clay pigeon shooting having never done it before. Our instructor Kate (forgive me if that's wrong) was excellent. She explained all the safety side and the techniques etc very clear and precise allowing us to take it in while also having fun. She made the experience fun and a jovial one taking away any nerves etc joining in with banter etc also. Would highly recommend booking with these guys had a blast and looking to book again
We had a great time doing the air rifle/pistol experience yesterday! We went as a couple, with Andrew as our instructor - he was excellent, as were all other staff. There were families and groups of different sizes and ages, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves! I'd recommend this to anyone - we're planning on going back soon.
An amazing experience, first time taking my parents to go and have a try archery, the staff were so welcoming, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful throughout the activity. The area is lovely and it’s awesome to see all the other activities that you could have a go out. The Archery was fun, funny, and one of the best days out we’ve had for a while. Definitely coming again for another brilliant trip, thank you again Field sport!!
Group of 12 and we were all treated fantastically, feeling like each had 1:1 instruction. Great set up, it will be hard not to go back ! Been back in June 2025 for a corporate day out with my team today. The set up, staff, food and activities were just fantastic, cannot recommend more highly 😀
I booked this for my husbands birthday . We went as a family including my two boys aged 12 and 14 . From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we could not have asked for more . We were made to feel so welcome . First of all we did clay pigeon shooting with Kim , who was an excellent instructor she took the time to explain everything to us , she was kind, patient and encouraging. Then we moved on to air rifle and pistol shooting with Andy - again an excellent instructor who made sure that had the best experience, this was done with patience and great humour. From initial contact right up until the end of the day everything was brilliant and done with a personal touch . We ranged in ability and age and all had the most brilliant experience . Will we book again ? Absolutely! Thank you all for a great day .
I went with my daughter (13) and my son (11). It was our first time we had used air pistols and air rifles and we had an absolute blast…pardon the pun! Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff, who immediately put us at ease. They were fantastic with the kids—engaging, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. The safety briefing was thorough but not intimidating, and everything was explained in a way that made us feel confident and excited to get started. Once we got onto the range, the instructor was attentive and encouraging, offering helpful tips and celebrating every little success. My daughter was especially proud of hitting the target dead centre, and my son couldn’t stop grinning every time he reloaded. It was brilliant to see them both so focused and having fun. The equipment was in excellent condition, and the whole experience felt safe, well-organised, and genuinely enjoyable. We left buzzing with excitement and already talking about when we could come back. A perfect family outing—highly recommended for anyone looking to try something new in a supportive and fun environment.
We did axe throwing, 50 clays pump action and the zomby blat fest all in a row and theyre all so much fun to learn and so satisfying to do, everyone there is so friendly and made the experience that much better. thank you all
This was my third time visiting Field Sport, this time for my father’s birthday. We booked archery, axe throwing, clay pigeon shooting, and the zombie blatt fest – and had an absolutely fantastic time! Andrew was an amazing instructor: knowledgeable, engaging, and made the whole experience fun. Couldn’t recommend this place more – 100% will be back again in the future!

15th-century castle, now English Heritage, with Civil War history, a tower and underground passages.
Slide 1 of 8
Ashby De La Zouch Castle is a hidden gem in Leicestershire. Its rich history, stunning views, and interactive features make it a rewarding experience for visitors of all ages. We visited here on a foggy day which made the experience even better as it added to the ambience . The castle dates back to the 12th century but is best known for its transformation into a grand manor house by William, Lord Hastings, in the 15th century. It played a notable role during the English civil war. Walking through the ruins, you can almost feel the weight of its history. One of the standout features is the Hastings Tower, which visitors can climb and it has total 98 steps. Once you reached to the top, the view is breathtaking. There is also an underground tunnels that you can walk through, once used to connect the tower to the kitchen, are another unique and exciting element. There is a small visitor centre with a shop offering souvenirs and books, as well as refreshments available on-site. A small parking just outside the castle also there is another paid parking available on walking distance.
Stunningly kept grounds, really friendly staff that were fully transparent about issues they had at the time. Says a lot about a place that takes care of the little things. Well worth the entry price and the walk up the stairs was fun! Keep an eye out for the hidden tunnel! And the town is only a short walk from the car park, plenty of places to browse and a beautiful local butchers. Lovely day out.
Another gem of a castle. Definitely worth visiting if you are a member and in the area. The audio tour is very humorous and entertaining. There's an old tower to go up and a tunnel to go down. Nice grassy areas for a picnic and a small shop with a drinks machine. No parking, and you need to be very careful locally as there is mostly "permit only" or Pay and Display in the town.
Visited on a cloudy Sunday and didn’t expect to see many people, but a steady stream of visitors came in. There’s quite a lot of ruined castle to look at over an expanse of land. Info boards throughout but I wish we bought the guidebook on this occasion. The tunnel running from the kitchen to the tower is great fun. I’ve not seen another one at a castle. Only disabled parking available (about 3 spaces) and all other parking is in the town. Parking is free at South St car park on a Sunday which is about 5 minutes walk away.
Lovely little walk around Ashby castle. Dogs (on leads) are allowed all round the site. The shop offers coffee so was lovely to sit and have a coffee in these beautiful grounds. It is part of English heritage also, which we signed up for so will be returning ❤️
I enjoyed the castle. would be lovely for a picnic in summer. Small gift shop and toilet facilities. Hot drinks available. Nice grounds.
Really beautiful place but wouldn't recommend on a weekend just because parking is such an issue. There are car parks around town but you will need to walk. Love the audio but was a bit confusing to find the chronology. There are picnic tables and I believe they serve a couple of drinks and I spied the ice cream!
Great ruin. Only gave ourselves 30 minutes but could have spent much longer. The tower does offer stunning views and the tunnel was a nice surprise. Car park about 100m down from the entrance is extremely cheap. Well worth a visit as looking from the road you could be mistaken that this is a small site. English Heritage membership is well worth it to visit gems like this.

My 6-year-old son had an absolute blast at Rebound. From the moment we walked in, he was beaming with excitement. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making him feel right at home. The variety of activities available was impressive. He couldn't get enough of the slides, obstacle courses, and all the climbing games. The cleanliness of the facility was impressive, and as a parent, I felt at ease knowing that he was playing in a safe and well-maintained environment.
This is an excellent place to take children/teens of all ages, under 3s have to be accompanied by an adult, food, hot and cold drinks available too 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Amazing place kids loved it it’s £12 for 1hr and In January 2024 £17 for 2hrs per child and the extra £5 gives you an extra 1 hr the special socks children need to wear are £2 per pair and you can use them again each time you visit At least 5 staff on inside the park to check on kids and they were very attentive Cafe on site serving breakfast and panini or toasties etc Having been here again on 21/2/24 seating or lack of it is atrocious no where near enough tables around inflatables if your child’s here for 2 hrs it’s no joke standing up all that time Please rethink your lack of seating and tables it would make us think about coming again
I went to rebound the other day and had a fabulous time with my son. The inflatables are excellent, my sons favorite was the pillow, very bouncy. The staff on reception were excellent at helping me out with the waivers and signing me in. I had a small issue with my locker opening but the manager on shift was straight over to assist me. The cafe was lovely, had a toastie and my son had a lunchbox. It was reasonably priced and tasted excellent. All together a wonderful experience. Thank you rebound!!
Great SEN session this morning. Gracie and Isaac were great with all the children. Our boys said it was the best game of tag they have ever played. 😊 we will definitely book on again. All the staff are a credit to Rebound Ashby.
My kids love this place! During the holidays it is incredibly busy and loud! As to be expected. There is not loads of seating, so that can make it difficult if you are taking the kids so you can work for a couple of hours. But the kids have a brilliant time. I did try it myself, I was exhausted after 10 minutes!! Great work out
Even when ots busy there's still loads of room for your last minute fun.
This place is utterly terrible! I gave it a 2 star since staff weren’t letting anyone in because of some Christmas stickers on the ground, and for some reason they closed it for the entire day! On top of this, staff are disrespectful and rude, refusing access for my son since I didn’t want to give them my email for spam? I don’t recommend going here and the 4.5 star rating on this is really false. Moving onto the park, my son stated that tape was flipping around everywhere since the staff couldn’t care to add extra security to holes, and lots of countless idiots were trying to injure my son, he almost twisted his toe! This is unbearable and please to the staff, work a bit harder!

Ferrers Gallery is situated in the wonderful Ferrers Arts and Crafts centre. This place is truly a wonder to behold, the photos here do not do the items in this amazing shop justice. So many unique pieces on offer and good value for the quality available. There are so many items here to give your household the personal touch, this shop is excellent and highly recommended. There is lots of parking available on site and there are so many places to visit that it really warrants a day trip to take it all in.
Really nice range of artwork Adored the independent shops.ans especially the lady who makes the blue and white frog garden ornaments
I love visiting the gallery and took a friend with me this time and she loved it to. I have made purchases both in the gallery and online. There really is something to suit all tastes and all budgets. The displays throughout the gallery are well thought out and always look great and the quality of artwork on sale is fantastic. The staff are lovely too. I will visit again soon x
Fabulous shop with the most helpful team and beautiful items for sale. I am always in awe of the amazing artwork and craftsmanship. Although I don’t have a big budget - usually birthday or Christmas gifts there are always pieces to purchase that my friends love and I know that they will not have at home! Definitely a place to visit and prepare to be tempted!
A beautiful gallery in a gorgeous space. We love visiting and seeing all the talented artwork on display. Many gifts have been bought here over the years and every time we go we see something new we like.
Absolutely amazing. Wonderful, talented artists and makers have produced some exquisite, well priced artwork, all beautifully presented. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Seriously, ignore the negative reviews. To call this work "expensive tatt" is beyond ridiculous and shows no intelligence, understanding or appreciation of this art, and the talent on show here, whatsoever. I can't recommend this gallery enough, I shall be visiting again very soon for Christmas presents!
Huge array of British made art and crafts that are delightfully displayed over three floors. What I loved the most was that there seemed to be a style and price for everybody and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again!
Not my 1st visit, nice location, food is great at cafe, lovely little artists, we always manage to buy something, well worth a look. Check out the model maker, fantastic and great value. It's not huge, but there is a garden centre and local walks to make your stay longer.

We were on a long road trip and stopped off here for a pint, great experience! The vibes were amazing for a Thursday evening, karaoke was hilarious, staff were excellent. Great experience, would highly recommend.
Overpriced. Nice environment but messed up our order, over charged us. Wouldn’t give a drink for their mistake. Shame as good pub but arsey manager.
As a local Ashbian I have some knowledge of the pub over the last 40 years and I would say much of that is positive. However have being served today 8pm (Sunday) with a pint at £5.40 (up 20p pre budget) and having sat down bring told I have 10 minutes to drink it is somewhat less than acceptable.
Large pub with dance area and several TV's for sport. Made us very welcome. I did not have anything to eat.
Nice pub in the heart of the town. Good atmosphere and very friendly staff. Pub is always tidy and clean. They now have outdoor seating for smokers. Toilets are usually clean. They have a pool table and a few gambling machines. Dance floor area too the rear which is good on a weekend, and a traditional pub at the front, which Is always good. Food is good, and very good value.
Brilliant pub warm and welcoming staff great prices reasonable . Still great . Great pub Alex just brilliant. The pub has changed no atmosphere needs cleaning been there twice this week toilets have not been cleaned. Bar area untidy sticky tables not hoovered. Very disappointed. It has changed the lamb is a lot cleaner .
Fantastic place, great atmosphere and vibe, the bar team were amazing 👏 it was extremely busy and the wait to be served was about 2 - 5 minutes which was to be expected in a busy high steet bar. I completely felt safe at the lamb as the had door supervisors on. I visited on a Friday evening and returned the next night as the club/bar vibe was on the next level, music was amazing and the throw back club and dance mixes took me back. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY ONE 18 + THAT LOVES A GREAT NIGHT OUT FOR ALL AGES.
Would have liked something to eat but none available. We were visiting Ashby from Manchester. The Town is lovely and St Helens Church. The pub.was warm and we watched the rugby. Might be a good idea to do coffees.

Small but excellent local history museum. The displays are very well designed and engaging. I had no idea how interesting a place Ashby is, but now I do!
What a pleasant surprise: Ashby museum. A hidden gem. Geographically small but curated by people who truly love history in all its aspects. I was tipped off by a friend who is a history lecturer and went to a talk there which was excellent; and then we had time to take in the museum. If you want to know about where we are living (the displays and information go right back to prehistory) and you are interested in fascinating people from our local past: you cannot find anything better than this. It was set up on Lottery funding and runs on donations and volunteers, so do consider donating: it would be a crime to lose this wonderful museum.
An utterly fascinating trip through the recent and ancient history of Ashby and the surrounding area. An absolute gem that established or new people to the town must visit to gain an insight to our history. This is not an ametur set up and one trip simply isn't enough. Thank you to the volunteer staff for keeping it open even on a Saturday.
Great little museum, we went on a guided walk about Ashby and the Civil war led by a Duke of Edinburgh Award contender. Which was fun and informative. Check the museum website for upcoming events. Always something going on
A great little museum run by volunteers of the history of Ashby De La Zouch and the nearby villages. Something for everyone here and family friendly. Well worth a visit.
Small but full of amazing information about the local area. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
A museum very deserving of its 'Museum of the year' awards (2007 and 2010). Features a good balance between written information and physical exhibits, and has an excellent photo archive. The perfect place to discover lost aspects of Ashby!
Very interesting small museum that is run by volunteers. Good place to visit if you want to know more of the history of Ashby.

Great little sweet shop with a huge range of sweets served in whatever combination you might need. A selection of packaged sweets as well. My kids loved visiting and choosing for their bags. Lovely service too.
What I love about this sweet shop nothing is ever to much for Fred and Kerri, my most recent visit was to get a movie box sweets for a new diabetic, Kerri put abit of everything diabetic into the movie box so he could explore what he liked and didn’t like. My boys love coming in for some sweets and they never get frustrated at how long it takes them to decide what they want. I have been a loyal supporter since the day the shop first ever opened but I have never felt as welcomed until Kerri and Fred took over they got us through lockdown! thank you :)
I ordered 5 Valentine boxes online to be delivered. I live within a 10 mile radius so delivery by hand was free. When the lady tried to deliver I was out so she rang me on the number I left and asked if it was ok to leave with my neighbour. Once she had done this, she rang me back to tell me that she had successfully left them as discussed. I was really impressed that someone took such care with my delivery. Outstanding service, would recommend unreservedly! Thank you very much
Great customer service! First visited the website to have a look what was available, once I had chosen what I was after I contacted via phone to ask a question regarding the local delivery. Once ordered I was contacted for a customisation to the order to enquire the reason for purchase and was delivered very fast and even asked later on to make sure everything was fine. Very thoughtful, partner loves the sweets, will return.
Ordered sweets for father's day and they came in a nice box with ribbon, lovely presentation and a great gift. We've had a couple of orders delivered during lockdown and the service and sweets have been fantastic. Very friendly staff and tasty sweets, great place to have in Ashby.
Never go to Ashby de la Zouch and miss going to this gem of a sweet shop. Excellent variety of confectionery and always a friendly welcome. Parking is easy as there is a car park at the Co op shop 2 minutes away with free parking for an hour
Great selection of sweets and treats, there really is something for everyone! I purchased a Valentines gift box for my partner from here, and it was put together beautifully. I'll be coming back to try one of Fred's new milkshakes!!!
I ordered several Easter eggs from Sweet Memory Lane for family and friends around the country who I couldn't get to see given the current situation. Fred and Kerri were really helpful and went the extra mile to ensure the eggs arrived in time for Easter. All the recipients were thrilled to bits with their Easter surprises. Thank you so much.

Nice walk round the grounds with a visit to the garden centre. Church was not open on the day we visited so only saw it from the outside
The setting by the water is delightful , the church has great history and the ceiling paintings are worth seeing (though personally I found them somewhat underwhelming). The volunteer was excellent , friendly and informative . Although the history may make it important and some may like the ceiling painting , a good church for me it didn't make. Nearby is a garden centre, craft shops and plenty of good walks. The parking at weekends is chargeable at £2. Please check opening times of the church as it is now only open Sundays, till the spring when it will also be open on Tuesdays.
Gorgeous church! Attended for my sister's wedding and it was the most amazing day!
Beautiful and the lovely lady who told us about it was a delight to talk to!
The sign and website say it is only open Tuesday and Sunday, but during August and September, it has been open on a Saturday. One of only 3 churches in the country built during Oliver Cromwells time in charge. Built by Sir Robert Shirley, who lived in the hall and had two trips to the tower of London, it was his way of protesting against the change in religion brought on by Cromwell. The painted roof shows chaos before religion brings peace. Some box pews and stained glass to admire, too. Sir Robert never saw the church finished, but he is buried in the crypt under the altar and has a memorial. Outside the church, you will find another crypt built after the original flooded due to the river being changed. If you look through the window, you can see the coffins of those at rest. A guidebook is avadible at Calke Abbey
Great place to go, the grounds has plenty of walk routes. The Ferrer's arts and crafts nearby there's a nice little cafe you can grab some food and a drink from, then across from the arts and crafts you have a Staunton Harold garden centre and water work aquatics they have all sorts of tropical and coldwater fish and loads of things for outdoors in the garden from bits and bobs to make yourself a pond to decorative fountains. I'll be adding more pictures later on this week
Wow that painted woodern ceiling is amazing. Love the stained glass windows as well. Guides on hand who are very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful to just sit and soak up the atmosphere. Would recommend a visit ⛪
Nice place to visit, but pick your days as the church is not always open. Stunning walks along the lakes, very picturesque.

A first visit to The Tap @ No. 76 after hearing about this place on a visit to The Tollgate Brewery near Calke As one of four establishments in this brewery chain, it has a wonderful cosy feel inside, with a fantastic selection of real ales, craft beers, and other spirits too. There are plenty of seats available inside and on two levels, but also a standing area near the bar when it's busy inside. Service was very quick and friendly too. It's a place to both stay for a drinking session or a quick stop off before enjoying a restaurant meal elsewhere. I will certainly return to explore more of the beers available on my next visit... 10/10... 🍺🍻🍸🤩👍
Lovely clean and tidy update to an old building with beamed ceilings and some modern touches. Great bar staff serve a big choice of cracking local beers.
Brilliant little pub. Great beer, no music or TVs so great for conversation. Dog friendly and the staff are great. Does appeal to a slighter older clientele on the whole.
Lovely pub. Dog friendly too. Excellent when the food vans come in the summer. Wish it was open on more days of the week!
The best bar in Ashby! Fantastic place to go for a proper drink, although it’s only a small place the choice of beer available on draft is brilliant with some really interesting and tasty choices for all Camra enthusiasts. The atmosphere is always welcoming and there’s a nice buzz about the place. The beer and cider is accompanied by a great and varied range of Scotch eggs, pork pies and sausage rolls, making a perfect partner to your favourite tipple.
This is a slightly upmarket micropub, linked to tolgate brewery. Always had an excellent choice of well kept beers keg and cask. Rasputin is very nice. Sadly, they do not appear too do ours or scotch eggs any more which is a shame.
My partner and I popped in for a quick visit last Saturday. Great selection of drinks and the scotch eggs were amazing. Will definitely be nipping back at some point soon
Great location and atmosphere. But please can you offer some blonde type ales. Many friends and neighbours have said this to us too. California steam is the only vaguely drinkable beer currently on offer.

Stumbled upon St. Helen's Church ⛪️, Ashby de la Zouch while on the way to visit Ashby de la Zouch Castle🏰. This quiet church nested at the end of the road is so peaceful. It’s a local community church that runs services for weddings 👰🤵‍♂️, baptisms 😇 and funerals ⚰️. It is also rich in History as it is a 15th century church and inside, they have beautiful set ups. Stained Glass, confession rooms, high ceilings and a working clock on the outside. It is open to the public, so if you are heading to the castle, do drop by and visit St. Helen Church. it is well worth your time.
We popped in as we we had just visited the castle and the church is pretty much nextdoor. Very impressive building, very quiet we were only ones about on a sunny march saturday.
I’m sure it’s a nice church but my main interest here was the history of the area and the Civil War. On the entrance into the church, on top of the left hand pillar is a stone skull and crossbones which indicates plague death burials. I’m the Heritage building you can read about the history of the church and castle
Beautiful 15th Century Church, two minutes walk from the castle and parking just a couple more minutes walk. The two side aisles added during the 19th century, as well as stunning stained glass windows, lots of memorials to people from all walks if life. In the Chancel is the tomb of Francis the 2nd Earl of Huntingdon, and his wife, Catherine Pole. Numerous other Earls are commemorated on the walls and buried in the Chancel. This Church is certainly worth a visit. There is also an effigy if a 15th Century pilgrim.
Beautiful church, very well kept! I loved the stained glass/windows, the architecture and the history behind such a peaceful place! The gardens are also well kept with a great variety of flowers. There is also an amusing game inside for youngsters (find the hidden mice) that stimulates observation.
As part the fabric this ancient town, it is worth a visit. It's close proximity to the nearby castle make it very convenient for a visit. Both are only minutes away from the High Street. The whole surrounding area has some wonderful old buildings. Making the area photogenic. I found interior interesting, as are most old church interiors. However once seen it's a place I'm not likely to revisit. The churchyard was full of colour and well kept. Sadly, most of the headstones have been laid flat, usually for safety reasons. This sadly removes some of the ambience from the area.
A place to see before going to the castle. Full of history 11th to 19th
Well worth following the road to find this gem of a church setback from the high Street. Signs of a good team effort by the congregation judging by photos of the teams at work in the church and its activities. Also a large and fascinating interior awaits the serious visitor.

Pleasantly easy to use with relaxed feel . Private cubicles, hot showers on poolside. Plenty of space for lane swimming at all paces as bookings limited to 40 people per session
Very good value for money. As a gym member one has swimming included & can use other locations at no extra cost. The only issue I have is the lighting is quite appalling in the Ashby location. It's way too harsh & when lying back pressing dumbells it's blinding which could be considered hazardous if lifting heavier weights. Hence 3 stars otherwise it would definitely be 4. Overall though I'm extremely happy with my membership.
Great pool, really deep at the deep end. Love that there's a sand pit for the kids to play in too. It's quite dirty though, in toilets and changing rooms.
Grandkids love this place, so nice on a sunny day. Best to book in advance online. Parking is free by entering reg no at the leisure centre desk.
Its a good all round family fitness centre, gym, swimming, dancing and lots more
Love it here. Very clean and a really nice place to go
Great facilities. Swimming pools indoor and outdoor, gymnasium, sports hall.
Lido was great fun. My boys really enjoyed it, pool was warm, clean and not too busy. Weather wasn’t great (bit of rain) but that did not ruin our swimming. We booked for 11am (105mins), easy to book and affordable price. Friendly staff, I’d highly recommend that place.

We hold our final Society match of the season there Great course, friendly service and excellent breakfast
We had our away day there yesterday l must admit they really look after us , it's a really hilly course, fore a lot of the older chap's it was good they had buggies.
Great course and nice atmosphere round the clubhouse
Nice challenging course but it's really in need of water the fairways are hard like concrete and patchy grass... tees weren't in good condition either..
Thoroughly enjoyed my day at Willesley. We were playing a friendly inter-club match. The weather forecast was to be cold and raining throughout. It was cold but fortunately the rain stayed away until after we finished. We had a very friendly welcome from the Willesley team and the match was played in a very friendly atmosphere. The meal afterwards was enjoyable too. The course was in good condition although we found the greens on the slow side. Happily they had also cut down the long rough that was so harsh the last time I played there a few years back. A very enjoyable visit.
Catering team very friendly and attentive (5*) Course in very good condition with a variety of holes although it is clear the course has some inconsiderate new neighbours who have knowingly purchased a property backing on to a golf course and complain about backing on to a golf course so be prepared for a briefing from the Pro shop prior to your round (4*). Clubhouse a throwback to the 1970's and sadly in need of a major refurb (2*) Our first visit and an enjoyable day.
Haven't played here for 34 years I enjoyed it then and thoroughly enjoyed it today. Considering the weather lately the course was in fabulous condition the greens especially were superb. Any members we came across were very friendly I would highly recommend a visit to this course.
Had the pleasure of playing this course today with a member i have to say what great condition the course was in .the fairways and greens were in top condition. to any avid golfer its a true test of ability to get round im already looking forward to playing this golf course again .

We kind of just happened upon Tollgate Brewery by accident. The bonfire was just what we needed after a bracing New Years Eve walk. There’s a fab selection of local beers and ciders here and the pizzas are great.
Great beer and pizza. Very much recommended.
Excellent brewery serving some great cask and keg beers. The old rasputin stout was one of the best tasting stouts I’ve had for a while. Brilliant pizza served in record times as well. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent brewery and taproom, really cosy with lots of seating. Great after a ride or walk around the area and not far from Caulk Abbey. At least cask and 6 keg lines to choose from with excellent stone baked pizza to soak it all up.
Great pizza!! Popped here on a sunny afternoon for lunch. I had a Chorizo pizza and my partner had a chilli one, they were both cooked to perfection and very tasty! It's also a brewery and they do tours but the buildings were done out really well with loads if original barn features so super quirky! We had a Pilsner and a German beer, both very drinkable! Will definitely be back ☺️
Wow what a absolute gem of a place really enjoyed the visit with my daughter on a busy Friday evening. The place is wonderful with great staff.
Great bear in a fantastic environment. A gem of a find. Will definitely visit here again. Good choice of beers and guest street food to top it off. Do check what street for events are on.
Great beer and pizza. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Very kid friendly setup. Hope to get the chance to visit again.
