Review is based on a group of 6 and is their review. Good sized carpark, though disabled bays require some afterthought. If parking in middle of the 3 plenty of room for both sides, if parking on outsides of the 3 then bushes hinder access. Superb. Clean, tidy. Professional staff, caring, understanding. Food was excellent, very hot, great tasting. Well priced. The only let down is that the menu shown on the website is not the menu for this actual location. (Hence the 4 stars). Everything else is 5 star. They do not have a carvery here. The main reason we booked here. This issue was raised and the member of staff passed it directly to management. However, we still gave them a chance and didn't regret it. Would recommend to all.

What a real disappointment. The roast dinner was vile. Everything tasted like it had been sat for hours in a dry oven. The vegetables were bitter and sloppy and the meat was dry and rubbery. The parsnips look like they've been cooked 100 times over. I would strongly not recommend eating here for the price and quality of food

Nice enough food for the price. Not child friendly at all. Kids food brought out on extremely hot plates straight from oven - waitress told 2yr old told not to touch plate?! Dangerous! We had to clear our own plates as service was so slow, so kids were getting bored and messing about with leftovers. Then, Pudding didn't arrive, after waiting 45mins we asked. They eventually brought it out, but rather than an apology for forgetting about us, manager blamed us for clearing our own plates!?! Our kids did really well to patiently wait at the table, but did get increasingly loud and disturbed other diner's. If you want quick service or a quiet meal - avoid.

We took a young adult with SEN and they were happy to let us have the whole bar area. They were so kind and lovely both Zach and Tracey. So polite and helped us with anything we needed. They listened and took on board everything we said! and to top it off the food was brilliant!

Excellent Sunday morning breakfast. Quite busy but they managed to find us a table without any fuss. Excellent choice of continental to compliment the hot breakfast.

I've been several times now and always enjoyed it. Friendly staff who take care of your needs. Nice cosy place and a fair amount of room. There is parking, but it's a bit tight when busy. Food is great and usually served quickly and very tasty. I've had several takeaways and all but one was very good... nothing was wrong with it. It just seemed it had been cooked by a different chef and wasn't as hot. Well worth a visit or take away.

Took my son and his wife here. I'm not from Ashby so first time visitor. Wow. What a great place. The staff are most friendly and very knowledgeable. Very accommodating. The food choice was excellent with a wide range of special dishes I will be revisiting to try out for sure. The food was absolutely superb. Very tasty and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this place and cant wait to return myself.

Good Food albeit old style Non- Indian cuisine as the name suggests. Charges for chutneys and hen Poppadum is ordered. So just be aware. Although food is ok.

I am absolutely disgusted with what I recieved from this restaurant. I have ordered a few times from here and the food as been great but this time they sent me a Lamb Shank that was nothing more than bone and very small bits of meat. I phoned to complain and was told that they didn't have a container large enough to fit the whole shank in so didn't put everything in. I tried to take a photo to show how little meat there was on the plate in context to how much bone there was. I have had this dish before and it was great but this time it arrived I couldn't believe what I was looking at. The restaurant gave me a very poor explanation and I can't understand why they didn't call beforehand to explain that I would only receive a much smaller portion due to them not being able to fit enough shank in the container. I'm not paying £14 for this and I have processed a refund from Uber Eats. I will never order from here again. I'm really disappointed in your handling of this situation, you showed no respect to a customer that has ordered several times from you and would have continued but you tried to cut corners on my order because you couldn't be bothered.

Loved the food here super tasty and full of flavour. The butter chicken and garlic naan were spot on. Will definitely go again!

As my wife went shopping I was left alone in the place of my desires. I sat in a lovely wine shop with friendly staff in a big comfy old chair and an excellent South of France merlot, while reading about Ernest Hemingway sitting in restaurants and cafes in Paris. An excellent way to spend the afternoon! I couldn't recommend La Zouch Cellars more.

As always they were amazing. The owners are fabulous and well educated to give brilliant advice on whiskey and fine wines. Lynn is a beautiful chef too. ♥️

Ordered a takeaway being new to ashby, ordered a selection of dishes from the menu to get a feel for this restaurant. I say this seriously, some of the best I've experienced in the area as far as derby, everything was cooked perfectly, it tasted fresh and delivery was spot on with a smile, if I was to be picky the chow mein, yes it's usually a salty dish but I feel it was a little bit too much, BUT that's very picky! I'd have no problem reccomending these guys, worth every penny, especially if that quality arrives every time 😀

Excellent Chinese takeaway. We order from here regularly. It is always delicious, and always arrives within 30 minutes when they estimate about 40 minutes. The delivery drivers are friendly. I can highly recommend the crispy chilli beef and ribs in syrup.

Just collected a meal from CK House for the first time using this takeaway, and I must say the food is spot on everything is hot. Your satay sauce is second to none!!! and the rice is succulent and not dry or clumpy whatsoever. Infact all in all... one of the best takeaway's we've had for some time even the kids loved it and their so fussy ;)

Why the negative reviews?! Salt and pepper chicken was delicious, the menu is vast in comparison to most Chinese’s (Mongolian lamb, ultimate fave 😍), delivery in 20 minutes and piping hot! 5*, best Chinese we’ve had in the area and surrounding

I asked kindly for a printed receipt as was able to claim expenses through work. Lady on the repeatedly acknowledged a yes to my request. Order arrived no receipt. Why not tell the customer on booking we are not able to provide you with a receipt. Will not be going back again despite the food being excellent.

Well what a weekend, don't know how I keep doing it! Never in the house, either working, travelling with wrestling or eating junk food to keep myself going! Today was no different and ended up having a carvery, mcdonalds and kfc! Ordered a chicken burger with no lettuce, just mayo. Collected and it was full of lettuce with no mayo so had to venture inside to get the job done right. It tasted ok when it was eventually sorted but have to mark you down for the inconvenience and not being right 1st time. On the plus side the ode belly keeps growing by the day, what a man, what a belly!

Food was just to warm and when I asked the member of staff how long it had been on the hot plate he said 1 hour 45 minutes... as a chef I believe this is borderline and needs to be kept at 140f or 60 degrees which this was certainly not... will not use this place again and advise further customers to check first.

This isn’t a dig at Ashby KFC however I’m unsure why the food has gone so down hill over the last few years. Zinger supercharger tower box meal and two wings, what a load of rubbish! I remember a time you had to chomp on this chicken burger as it was so big and juicy, oozing with flavors!! now it’s like a deflated chicken. The wings looked like they was on a diet. For £10! For me KFC is rubbish and wouldn’t entertain it. Please see pictures.

This is the most bad experience I ever had in any UK restaurants 😕 Staff very unprofessional,my orders took more than 30 min waiting, when I enquire why is takjng so long they said that run out of fries but not for other orders ,also speaking in hindi in front of you and laughing made a very unpleasant atmosphere. For me KFC lost my respect and trust having such personal. In future will avoid. Thank you 👎

Icecreams was nice but the wooden spoons are horrible got a rubbish taste .we had a mint crushers drink and u could Evan taste the mint in the ice drink drink sorry it was tasteless eont be having them again.sorry.need more taste..ect the disabled toilet needed cleaning but nice and spacious.well done ashby team .

Good start on opening day... Zinger Stacker meal with gravy. Good standard of food. Efficient ordering using the interactive screens. Nice decor and seating areas with a decorative modern decor. Good service with polite staff. Would be good if they can make it clear who's queuing to order at the till and who's collecting their pre-ordered food... a barrier and sign maybe? Saves people asking who's waiting for what. A good start 👍

Really like this pub. Friendly. Nice staff. Used to be my local but have since moved out of the area, still come back here to need friends. Not what ibwould call a modern pub and the toilets are often not the cleanest. Still a good pub none the less. They offer a pool table, darts, jukebox, outdoor under cover seating and a children's play area. Parking available at the side of the pub and a taxi rank opposite.

Great night of live music at Ashfeast,lovely pub,plenty of in and out door seating ,friendly staff,manager could not do enough for us to make us feel welcome, and friendly locals ,will definitely be returning.

Rough and ready pub just behind the high street, usual beers and wines, the real ale is a bit ropey , pool table frequented by the local youth , some times has a band on, ok for a quick pint but don't expect to much

Had a table booked for 4 people but 2, my nephew and Niece couldn't make it due to illness, so we drove A 70 mile round trip but I knew it would be worth it. Used to come here about 25 years ago as a regular weekend diner that we would be in for a great night! Well Zamanies, you didn't disappoint, myself and hubby thoroughly enjoyed the evening, a warm welcome awaited us with smiles all round, the service from the girls was 1st class as was the food. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, just a cushion was needed as the seats were a little hard but other than that could not complain about anything. My hubby had garlic mushrooms, lasagne, fries, fresh proffitarols. I had caesar salad, pasta arribiata with grated parmesan and a garlic flatbread to share, then tiramisu, all absolutely delicious and every mouthful was tasty, all hot food was piping hot. We had drinks from the lovely cocktail bar and a lovely bottle of red wine boomerang bay Shiraz. Would absolutely recommend if you have never been, it's a little gem at the bottom of Bath street, then lots of little pubs and bars just a short walk up the street. Well done zamanies for reasonably priced excellent food and service. The Johnson's but booked under Morley.

ZAMANI’S NAME IS ENOUGH👍👍👍 I had my dinner 🍽️ today for the first time at Zamani’s. This vegetarian Dish is so so delicious 😋😋😋 and my favorite Prawns 🍤😋😋😋 I thought Zamani’s food would be super expensive but not really, good value for money 🤙🏻 very polite staff though. would be back again soon and highly recommend... A friend and I arrived without booking and the staff were very accommodating, we had to depart by 7.30, but arriving at 6.15 gave us plenty of time. I had king prawn and chorizo penne which was really good. Followed by cheese cake accompanied by a glass of fizz. Really good food and very good service.

What a great little restaurant, this place is a little gem in Ashby. We managed to get a table for our alphabet date night which ended up as I for Italian, we wanted to stay clear of pizza so we chose other items on the menu. My girl had the rigatoni and I had king prawn and chorizo, both were good portions and served at a reasonable time from ordering. There was a slight draft when the door was open but I did get an apology from the staff for this, I didn't mind to much though. Overall we had a great experience and would be happy to go back, they just need to make sure the premium beers are fresh, that's what lost them a star. Great place with lovely food. Saturday night felt like party night... but it could be more cosy other nights. Wide variety of well cooked and presented foods. Friendly happy service.

Went for late Sunday lunch. Table not quite ready so had a pre-meal glass of wine in wine bar adjoining. 1 beef (served pink) and 1 lamb (would have prefered pink). Very nice though, with veg sides all cooked well. For deserts my wife had tiramisu, I unusually went for a sticky toffee pudding, to which all other sticky toffee puddings should aspire - superb. Good value, good quality, friendly service.

Stopped for lunch. Had full Cypriot meze. It was beautiful. Sat in the courtyard to eat so we could also enjoy the lovely sunshine. Ordered everything on the meze menu and it was very authentic. Have already recommended to friends and family. Zamanis is a lovely little gem. We went back later in the evening and finished off the day with a few cocktails. Really lovely, excellent cocktails.

Cheese fondue starter, loved the cast iron pot, need to get some. A fiery ngdu with honey pizza and some side, not fiery for me, but a nice flavour. Red wine was 500 ml, did not fancy a whole bottle, so a nice combination. Walked in, no booking but was 17:30 as was hungry. Would have been nice to be asked for a dessert or maybe the bill, neither was offered....so had to wave a few times.

First visit to an ASK Italian, and it now definitely won’t be my last! Both servers who interacted with us were an absolute delight. They were attentive and friendly, the perfect hosts. Food and drinks were both spot on. Food arrived quickly, was hot and tasted amazing. Drinks were very quick also! I tried a couple mocktails and they were delicious 😋 10/10!

Had breakfast with my daughter at the courtyard cafe yesterday morning superb, beautiful morning sat outside having breakfast. Staff were excellent. Couldn’t do enough quality of food was also excellent. Don’t see my daughter very often so it was a lovely experience all round, Thank you ladies.

Emma truly delivered the highest level of customer service and care to my mother, my dog, and me during our breakfast visit. All the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely lovely too. Home made delicious food everytime everyone what a little.gem this place is. Fantastic service lovely people. I had the homemade.chicken and mushroom pie and my son demolished there courtyard burger. Had the homemade lasagne last year we came ' absolutely top notch. Food how my mum and nana used to make it. Definitely needs to be eaten to be experienced. It's tucked out of the way down a side alley and you will miss it if you don't know where it is. Best place in Ashby for breakfast lunch main course meals. I very highly recommend it.

Our first time here and we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome at the cafe, shown to our table with a smile. The food was absolutely beautiful with a proper pot of tea for two! A proper family run cafe with proper home cooked food! We will be eating here again!

Great little cafe, friendly staff seems popular with the locals. Stopped in on my way back home from Yorkshire easy access from the motorway and a lot nicer than service stations. Had a steak and Stilton baguette with chips was tasty. Also shared a Tropical cheesecake that was made in house and was a great desert to finish off our lunch.

Can’t thank this lovely cafe enough for making my friend’s 30th celebrations so memorable. They were so warm and welcoming and I would definitely recommend their afternoon tea- fantastic combination of hot and cold savoury and the scones were to die for! Six of is met up for a ladies lunch and we all said really enjoyed our meal. There was a very good choice on the menu and the gluten free options were also very good. My friend said her GF meal was lovely. The service was quick and very friendly and the food was served piping hot. It was yummy! Cleanliness was exceptional both at the table and in the ladies' toilet. Would definitely eat here again and highly recommend it. Thank you.

I had the pleasure of Sunday lunch with 3 friends. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever, only compliments. The serving staff were excellent, cheery and helpful. The food itself was delicious, perfectly cooked and served to the table piping hot. The prices were very good and worth every penny. Roger is the perfect host, very informative and justifiably proud of what he does. I look forward to our next visit and have no hesitation in recommending this lovely establishment. Overall great experience, great food and excellent portion sizes . Maybe even too large 🤣 I recommend the steak and ale pie on the carvery.. fully homemade and the majority of things on the carvery are also homemade .. excellent! The only small things that didn't have me give 5 stars is the fact that the room is very much a squash and a squeeze with many tables directly next to you ... But as I said it's not much of a fault as that can't be helped .. The last thing is the fact that most of the front of house staff are all rather young and seem new to it.. although they were good enough to serve us with the service needed Other than those small little things it was excellent!

We stayed in the pubs carpark in our camper. We had previously booked a table and when we went in, we got seated straight away by a lovely young lady. My partner had the pie carvery which he said, was the best he had ever had! The chef came and asked us if everything was ok and, if we needed anything else to let him know. Very friendly staff and food was really good.

Just got back home to Cornwall after a lovely few days staying here. We stayed in 5A. The room was very clean and spacious. Only criticism was the step outside back door was very high really needs another step. A big thank you to Costa and Precious they were very welcoming when we arrived. Also Jake and Ben for looking after us every evening. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family.

Four of us had Sunday carvery here today. The whole experience exceeded our expectations in terms of food quality, portion size and service. The price was reasonable too. The young staff were amazing and the pub is so attractive with a large beer garden. We’d travelled from South Yorkshire and Worcester and we will be back. Excellent all round. Phil Kirk.

I have been here a few times. Had the festive dinner recently. It was nice but lacked flavour. The chocolate orange cocktails were tasty, I would recommend them. The Poretti was also nice, but maybe a tad pricey at £3.99? I've been in this pub previously when it's literally been stacked with dirty plates everywhere, but it seems to be much better now.

Worst spoons I've been to, and I've been to absolutely loads across the country. I tend to gravitate to Spoons for breakfast/brunch most weekends since moving to the area as I have a toddler so like to know what to expect. Shoulder of Mutton is my closest (so unfortunately go often), every time I go there's something wrong. Clearly never have enough staff on. Empty Tables 90% of the time are full of dirty plates (no exaggeration, I've been about 8/9 times and 7/8 of the time I've had to move crockery to another empty table with dirty crockery already on. Photo as an example). Coffee machines tend to have a massive queue, not helped by them generally needing a milk top up (Any chance of getting some more?) Today the food took 40 minutes. OK it's father's day, 40 minutes though! Theres a bald bloke that works, and he (at least behaves as if he) is massively overworked. I understand why he's running about like a blue arsed fly chucking plates on to the table. Spoons if you're reading this, employ 25% more staff so: Tables are cleared and cleaned Food and drinks are delivered within around 15 minutes Bonus: The coffee machine is topped up with milk It all feels like amateur hour which I never ever see at any other Spoons I go to!!

The food was great, and came extremely fast, within 15 minutes of ordering my door arrived. The tables are a little close together so you have to breathe in a little of someone is sat behind you. At times it does get busy like during breakfast, launch and dinner so I would recommend making a reservation but it is not required.

Very nice wetherspoon, really love place to sit especially nest the big windows at the front. Food arrived very hot and it was extremely tasty! Staff were very polite and they asked how our food was and cleared our table up. Ladies toilets were very clean! Coffee machine was easy to use. Really enjoyed it, my favourite meals at a wetherspoons in a long time.

Had scampi chips & peas, and fish chips peas. Plates were lovely and hot, food too. Cooked great, drink each included, afternoon deal of only £9.10 each. Chilled atmosphere. Hardworking staff work great as a team and are very friendly

Haven't been here for quite a few years. An upmarket Spoons with a spacious beer garden and a smart interior. I had the veggie breakfast with extra hash browns replacing the missing quorn sausages. The breakfast was okay, although I should have had extra beans instead. Friendly service. Parking at the rear is free for one hour, however, get a ticket.

I give it four stars for two reasons, the prices and the fact that the staff work hard in increasingly difficult conditions. The staffing levels are insufficient to serve customers and keep the place tidy. I have been advised by a member of staff not to leave this review as it is a waste of time - the company is only interested in revenue.

Food is absolutely spot on, so fresh and tasty. Definitely the best on in Leicestershire. I was passing through on business and decided to pop in, the other choices are Indian or Chinese if they are opened on a Tuesday? Or maybe some burgers in the local pubs.

Myself and my family, went to this lovely restaurant to celebrate my birthday. It was the first time we had been there. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked through door to the minute we left. They made my birthday!!. Food was amazing. We slightly over ordered as the portion sizes are very good. We will definitely be going again.

Despite good service and excellent starters the mains sadly were immensely disappointing. My oh had a salmon dish which came in a lovely coconutty sauce but it was battered, overcooked and unboned. Id gone for what was described as king prawns in tamarind sauce, again the sauce was fine but the prawns had been butterflied, unshelled and battered. Tasted dry and im not a fussy eater. i did raise this with the young waiting staff who shrugged and said "oh". Not impressed. If id wanted battered seafood id have gone to the chip shop over the road and got better food for a fraction of the price! Im shocked because normally this place is good. Maybe they have new chef?

Overall a really nice restaurant and very family friendly. As you walk in you feel immersed in the Thai atmosphere with historical paintings and music. The owners are oh so lovely and my family often dine there, they never forget our faces and often serve freebies for the kids and rest of the table with a grateful happy smile. We consider the food there very affordable but delicious for us as we are a larger family. Will never forget the kindness shown to us in this restaurant ❤️

Not happy. Bar got my order wrong, wine and lemonade in place of lime and lemonade. Food took nearly an hour to arrive. My friend’s steak and ale pie seemed ok, mine was barely lukewarm, but we were so late driving north to Leeds that I just ate most of it. Chips were very good. Nice building, atmosphere spoiled by a pub quiz.

The food is great, and tasty which is quite impressive. I had the classic all day breakfast here and I loved it so much. The only downside to my visit is that I had to pay to get an extra toast, I would normally not request for but it was good and just one toast was not enough to savour all the deliciousness. I paid £1.99 for a toast I wasn’t able to finish. So I feel like the £2 I paid for extra toast wasn’t justified . Aside that they serve great meals.

We’ve recently paid a visit to our new neighbours, the freshly taken-over Bulls Head in Ashby, and we’re very impressed! It’s now a family-run, family-friendly pub, and you can really feel the care that’s gone into making it like that. The outdoor area is brilliant — bouncy castle for the kids, plenty of space to relax, and a lovely vibe all round. The owners were out chatting to everyone, which gave it such a welcoming, community feel — we’re all about that! The staff were super friendly, the place was spotless, and although we’ve not tried the food just yet, we’ll definitely be back soon for just that! They’ve also got a gorgeous ‘sun room’ at the back available to hire that they call the Cow Shed, it’s ideal for small events or gatherings. We’re already eyeing it up for some events in the future! It’s great to have such a lovely local spot right next door. Big well done to the new team and we’ll be seeing you again very soon! 🧡

Since the new landlord and landlady have taken over, they have transformed The Bulls Head into the best pub in the area. Friendly staff, fantastic food and a great range of drinks to suit every taste including regularly updated craft ales. The entire pub has a fresh new look, the beer garden is fantastic with plenty of seating, beautiful flower beds and baskets, and a bouncy castle for the little ones. Karaoke night and live music at weekends makes this the place to go to catch up with friends, listen to some great music, and soak up the sun!

Since the upgrade the bulls head is a highlight of Ashby We go for the breakfast regularly and it's good tasty and a large portion for moderate prices! The outdoor seating area is great for summer - big screen too for sports viewing! Saturday night boogies are also fun with the DJ

It was the weekend and my partner and I were walking through Ashby after a bit of shopping trying to think of an activity for the young children to do and stimulate their minds.... A handsome middle age man claiming to be the new landlord of the 'The Bull' in Ashby was making an entertaining offer to come into the premises and enjoy our afternoon in the sun on the bouncy castle in their beutiful beer garden. Welcoming passers by into 'The Bull' we chanced it... we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, service was fantastic and the lovely middle age man asked how our experience was which I thought was a lovely gesture. Cannot wait to come back. Highly recommend.

Arrived for a late Thursday lunch. Was rather quiet but that suited us. Food standard Chain pub fayre but cooked properly and tasty. Very good choice of beers and Lilley's ciders.

Horrendous service. We have it a second chance after the last time they were moderately busy. Wish we hadn’t. Two hours later and no food. Night ruined. Never again we would rather eat at home. Lots of other diners left early like us.

This is my review when I’m on a Monday night when I handed a menu and a special order which started Adults £16.50 children £13.50 after Careful consideration of this offer I decided not to go and do this if you think about it it’s only £1.50 difference. It looks like they took £1.50 from the child’s price and put it on the adult price anyway wasn’t happy with the food and I think the management they like to shout and make The stuff do everything here because you can tell they want people to know I’m in charge, not you

We have lived in Ashby for 6 years and only recently been to de la zouch. The food here is absolutely amazing (both take away and eat in) , service is excellent and it will now be our favourite Indian restaurant, we’ve even booked for the family to go Christmas Day!! Can’t recommend enough 😀

A very very nice Indian restaurant in the heart of Ashby. The food is absolutely amazing especially the lamb balti which is definitely my go to dish in the Indian cuisine. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone with a taste for an Indian and really good service.

Lovely clean and tidy update to an old building with beamed ceilings and some modern touches. Great bar staff serve a big choice of cracking local beers.

Brilliant little pub. Great beer, no music or TVs so great for conversation. Dog friendly and the staff are great. Does appeal to a slighter older clientele on the whole.

The best bar in Ashby! Fantastic place to go for a proper drink, although it’s only a small place the choice of beer available on draft is brilliant with some really interesting and tasty choices for all Camra enthusiasts. The atmosphere is always welcoming and there’s a nice buzz about the place. The beer and cider is accompanied by a great and varied range of Scotch eggs, pork pies and sausage rolls, making a perfect partner to your favourite tipple.

This is a slightly upmarket micropub, linked to tolgate brewery. Always had an excellent choice of well kept beers keg and cask. Rasputin is very nice. Sadly, they do not appear too do ours or scotch eggs any more which is a shame.

My partner and I popped in for a quick visit last Saturday. Great selection of drinks and the scotch eggs were amazing. Will definitely be nipping back at some point soon

Great location and atmosphere. But please can you offer some blonde type ales. Many friends and neighbours have said this to us too. California steam is the only vaguely drinkable beer currently on offer.

Had a lovely coffee. Atmosphere was relaxing. Staff are pleasant and good to talk to.

Very slow service, one rude member of staff. So we thought we would try Costa as they now allow dogs inside. Sat waited 10 minutes for coffee and warm up a sausage roll, our dog barked twice and the rude server came over and said if she did it again we would have to leave. Children running around ( being children)making more noise than our dog. Thankfully plenty of other places to get coffee in Ashby, more welcoming, service with a smile and places that deserve our money. Cya Costa.

Relatively quick service. The muffins seem to have succumbed to shrinkflation. A lot of tables had not been cleared, even though the place was relatively quiet. No knife and no serviette for the muffin - I thought this was a standard! But then you don't get a glass of water with your espresso unless you ask!

Costa gets more and more disappointing. The machines incredibly noisy, the store and furniture look very tired now, the drinks menu is a little boring, the items from the cake counter are dry from being left out all day, it's pot luck as to whether drinks with extras (e.g., marshamallows) actually come with them. The staff either lack training (not giving reward beans when owed, for example) or are sometimes rude and surly. Increasingly it just feels like a waste of money. There are many better options in Ashby.

As soon as we entered this location we were stared down by a Young-ish asian server with glasses and a claw clip when she came up to us as the only teenagers in there and told us we needed to buy something which was respectable but odd based on the fact she didn’t say anything to the other adults with nothing.Then for the remainder of our stay she gave us dirty looks and stared at us on atleast 10 occasions even when we were trying to buy food .However the other slightly older lady was lovely

Lovely, spacious, excellent service and great coffee. What else could you ask for?

This costa is very, very busy. It has wheelchair access but is a little tight to get around. Loud environment that can be a little overwhelming if you are noise sensitive. Staff always run off their feet, but really lovely people. Sometimes low on certain drink items. I use this costa regularly, but I have to admit i personally find the loud atmosphere too hard to cope with for long.

Wandered past and took a punt. No food hygiene rating listed, but you can find online, it's a 4, and it isn't for lack of food quality/hygiene but the place being a bit worn out. Which is fine, the place is but feels very homely. The gentleman was really friendly and polite. Pizzas cooked fresh. Good deals (x2 8 inch pizzas for £12). Didn't skimp on the toppings.

Absolutely wonderful, fresh pizza made by the kind gentleman. Feels like a gem of a pizza place and lovely to support local. (note - two of us ordered and went for a drink nearby while the food was being cooked, then took the food away. There didn't seem to be much space to sit-in.)

I ordered pepperoni pizza and it came with mushrooms and peppers and onions. I did not realise this when I ordered it as I didn’t look at the menu properly. If you click on deals it does not display the ingredients of the pizzas so make sure you look at the pizza ingredients first. The owner is so lovely and made me two new pizzas without the extras. Amazing service and we are so happy with the quality of the pizzas and service. We will be back! All the best, Em and Sean

It's not often i visit Ashby but when I do I always walk past this little gem and tonight I was craving pizza and decided to give it a go and boy am I glad I did. I'm the person who puts a silly amount of toppings on but this time I stuck to the basics. Chicken, Mushroom and Cheese. Golly gosh, talk about melt in your mouth flavour. The 10" size was well and truly enough to fill me, even so that I have leftovers for tomorrow. (woo hoo!) Looking forward to trying a few more pizzas from the menu. P.S the owner was so lovely too which made the experience that much better. Will definitely be back!

Is run by a lovely friendly old Italian gentleman. Pizzas are well priced, and delicious. He accidently left mine in the oven a bit too long and it SLIGHTLY burnt the bottom, so he replaced it and gave me the "burnt" one for free too. They deliver as well. Best place for Pizza in Ashby

Amazing local pizzeria with a lovely owner. Pizzas are really tasty, plenty of choices of toppings and super affordable prices. Would wholeheartedly recommend to all.

Good coffee comfortable seating. Slow service as a walk in as they concentrate on the drive thru customers even ones after you. The walls around the seating area need a wipe down and the tables are sometimes neglected from being cleared. All in all a nice Starbucks but needs some attention to hygiene of the customer seating area.

All though confirmed twice, got served a whole milk coffee when ordered oat. Went in to explain it was an allergy (only knew because had drank and started to react) and there was no apology given. Poor service. Got remade quickly and then the correct drink split on my hand.

Despite having a filter coffee machine behind the till, turned on and ready to go, they ‘don’t do filter coffee anymore’. Really disappointing, not sure if they can’t be bothered to brew it or just want you to buy the more expensive coffees. Very frustrating.

Been through this Starbucks now a few times. Had to write a review as the level of snottiness and unfriendliness displayed by the staff has just gone beyond acceptable for the Starbucks brand. Today we questioned the order, the girl picked up the cup pointed at the sticker and inferred I didn't know what I was talking about. It wasn't what was ordered. The girl audibly huffed and remade another. We travel constantly internationally and go to Starbucks because we expect a level of service and quality. This store has the atmosphere of a prison canteen and coffees to match. The staff are more concerned about eating their own breakfast (clearly obtained from the neighboring Greggs) and gossiping than welcoming customers first thing in the morning.

Great place to chill and have a coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful, it was very clean inside, plenty of free parking, toilets were clean. You could chat to each other without having to shout. Thanks

What is this pathetic example of a bacon roll? How do you at Starbucks take pride in offering this level of quality and value? In my opinion it is worth nothing more than £1 for such an offering.

Only had a chip cob but it was very nice. The place had plenty of customers coming through but no long queue even on a Friday night when town was busy. The service was particularly friendly. It really made the experience. Will return in the future for sure.

Nice vendors but sadly the food was terrible. By the time we got our t/a home, the fish and fritters were stuck to the paper so we literally got half a meal.

Absolutely discusting... The chips reheated, the burger, well see for yourself, even the dog didn't want it...I tried the kebab meat and was worse than the burger. never again.

Always have high quality food from here. I normally have the special kebab and GF has one of the fish specials, never had any complaints about the food. Service is always friendly and efficient. Unless you are having one of the specials the price is a little bit on the high side which is why it loses a star but apart from that 10/10

I have no problem with Nick fish bar at all, food is great but unfortunately for past two weeks couple times I keep getting old soggy reheated chips 🍟 Very disappointed about that. Put everything to the rubbish bin 😒 😑 Hopefully that will be sorted...or next time we will have to bring it back to the shop.

Chips flabby and soggy. Naively I thought chips were supposed to be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We put these poor excuses for chips directly in the bin. Not recommended if you like decent food.

Finally ive found a Chip Shop that actually meets my expectations of Quality , Service, Integrity and Taste. We had the Lunchtime Specials of Fish and Chips and Battered Sausage and Chips with Curry Sauce ...it was served by a very pleasant elderly lady and the food was first class ! Salt and Vinegar...oh yes ..... Awesome 👍 we will be back !

Although it's very convenient having a drive through, it's not so useful if the business keeps running out of products. Twice I've been here and yet to buy a sausage roll or a steak bake. The service seems quite slow, so there can be a queue. Please try and have an adequate supply of savouries and sandwiches after 3pm!

Used this Gregg's several times since it opened both going in to the store and using the drive thru, but every time the food is cold or at best very slightly warm. Just been today and they had no sausage and beans melts so had a steak bake instead which was again ever so slightly warm. It's a shame but it's not how this kind of food should be served, won't be using again

Not sure why that never have any sandwiches or toasties ready at 6:30am, Theres one girl with an attitude problem that won't even move her neck to check in the back. They wont make one for you either like the other greggs will in woodville. Sort it out

Nice garage with a great range and huge selection of food and grocerys in the Spar, with some intresting promotion/gift items. The staff in Greggs were friendly and service was quick.

Was waiting 10 mins in the drive through not moving so I drove up the curb over the grass to the front of the store and there was no queue and got my food in 2 mins, drive through isn’t worth the wait

As a family of 9, we were due to attend White Hart Ashby yesterday at 12pm for a long over due catch up. I made the booking with a weeks notice. At 9:27am yesterday (day of of visit) I received a phone call from a member of your staff informing me that he had only just viewed the bookings and the restaurant we unable to accommodate 10 of us. This gave me 3 hours to find a restaurant to accommodate 9 people. From your member of staffs opinion, the kitchen can only deal with tables of 8 as a maximum. However, on the website to book we had the option to book a table of 10+. We won’t be returning as we cannot trust that this will not happen again, which is a shame as we have visited before.

My husband said it was nicest hot dog he'd ever had. The presentation of all our food was great and it all tasted great too. Great price too. Happy campers!

The whole experience was pretty much online. We booked a table online, through the website (nice and easy). We were greeted at the bar by a nice young gentleman and shown to a table. Once again, we ordered drinks and food online too ( also nice and easy). Drinks were sharply brought across, food took slightly longer than expected, but it was well worth the wait. Will be back for another visit, probably when there isn't a fair right outside next time

Went in for some food and drinks with my family and was kindly greeted by Laura. We were quickly seen to and were delivered food and drinks promptly. The food was as amazing as the service. Would 100% recommend & would go back again.

White Hart is an amazing pub. Best in Ashby. Perfect for Friday and Saturday nights out. Bookable out back area. Sports is always a must. Absolutely class!

Very much enjoyed this restaurant. Extensive menu with good prices. Its not licenced so you need to pop next door to the off licence where the choice is plentiful. Will be visiting again.

Very disappointed as I had read so many good reviews. I could not fault the service as the staff were most helpful and polite. I did not complain at the time as I did not want to draw attention and I was a guest at a family dinner not a paying customer. There were 5 main courses on our table and each looked almost identical bar a passanda which was a slightly different colour. The dish was a white square bowl and filled with what looked like baby food or a thick soup which had been blended until it was so smooth that not a carrot, pea, pepper or onion could be identified. The only texture was from the tasteless pieces of processed chicken. No, I won’t be going back and no, I would not recommend.

went into cafe for lunch told man serving of my egg allergy they do not offer something different instead of eggs on breakfast so i said i will have chicken burger but no mayo was told we cant take it off then young girl serving said if you got allergy the bun has egg in it so you cant have that didnt bother with any thing didnt feel safe eating there

I travel a lot for my job and called in this morning for a breakfast and to kill some time before a delivery. The lady behind the counter was a joy. Says a lot when the child portions are bigger that the adults breakfast. I Waited 45 mins with my son which is a long time for him in a high chair, When we got the food it was pretty cold. My breakfast only had one sausage and one slice of bacon that was over cooked. Was expecting better tbh after paying £15.

Big breakfast had been kept in hot trolley before serving. Sausages very hard and burnt. Fried bread rock solid. As not on show to make your own selection should be cooked fresh. Toast was good with plenty of butter.

I'm really disappointed. We really liked Birds and have done for many years, but our experience today will make us rethink about ever visiting this branch ever again. Unsure of name, but ill staff member served us cob rolls and she was coughing away, not wearing gloves and overall just made it all very unappetizing. On reflection, our kindness stopped us asking her to stop serving. I'm ashamed to say we chucked the cobs soon after as we did not feel comfortable eating them. I'm surprised a staff member that ill (runny nose, coughing away, etc.) was happily serving customers. The service itself was very poor itself without the whole cold business. Why no gloves when handling food with or without a cold? It would have been wise for her to not be on shop floor and for her to avoid handling food whilst she was coughing away, not washing hands, etc. We won't visit again.

OMG, is this the rudest eatery in the UK. The heavy blonde woman who has featured much in these reviews served us. Got told off when I asked for a knife to eat my cake - "this isn't a cafe you know and btw there are no toilets". When we got our coffees she said sharply "make sure the lids are fully on before you start drinking them" If Birds isn't a cafe why do you charge VAT on purchases if you want to eat them inside? People in the queue were stunned at her outburst too. I noticed that the earliest negative review of her customer service was at least a year ago. So why is she still employed here Birds? To the lady herself: this job is clearly making you unhappy and stressed which is dreadful for your health. Perhaps you should get a different job.

Appallingly rude staff. Two sizes of pork pie I say I'll have the large only to be corrected three times that it is standard. Apparently this is so I know for Christmas. Will I shop there for Christmas? No. Will I shop I there again? No. This is not customer service it is customer harassment. Such a shame. Used to be quite the local bakery sorry to see it go so far downhill.

Bought three drinks a latte, a vitamin water and a plain bottle of water and asked for some tap water in my baby’s bottle (they are not meant to have bottled water due to the sodium) and was told they can’t give us tap water? On an extremely hot day after already purchasing drinks it’s extremely disappointing that they would deny a 6month old baby water! Disgusting, won’t be returning.

My mum moved down south a couple of years ago to be nearer to us and she was reminiscing about Birds and how good their food was. Nothing we could find matched her memory of your sausage rolls. For Mothers Day I ordered her some, along with some other treats, via your online ordering. I know she misses Ashby a lot and the delivery bought a tear to her eye. She reports that the food is just as good as ever! Delivery arrived well packaged and prompt. Thanks so much!!!

Waited 30 mins for an expensive breakfast i didn't want beans i don't like them so i asked if i can change the beans to extra mushrooms or an extra hashbrown the very young girl serving me replied we aren't allowed, if you want to change anything you will have to pay extra for it, so I'm standing there scratching my head i said are you serious lol. Then to make things worse the breakfast arrived for my daughter and i and was all wrong and i had beans, so i said I'm sorry this is all wrong, things are missing and I've got beans. He asked what is missing so we told him, he got all flustered and confused and said The Chef is new and he's stressed and cooked over a 100 breakfasts already this morning, so i replied firstly i was ybreakfast chef at Premier inn and cooked for up to 600 plus people from 6am to 8am and that was before the rush, so i understand it can be a little stressful at times, and secondly you NEVER tell customers what you just told me that is unprofessional. He then went off and returned with a plate of bacon sausage hashbrowns and mushrooms and said there you go, don't say i don't give you anything and walked off. Unprofessional discusting behaviour. And if any management read this, the ruid person was slightly large with black scruffy greasy hair. Won't be having food here again.

What kind of service is that! You have only 1 check out open and 2/3 of the self checks are closed! When asked to open another self check so i avoid the queue you refuse, why cant you focus on serving your customers? Hope you had fun putting the stock i left for you back on the shelves, bet that took longer than actually opening an additional self service till… Best i find somewhere that values customers for the future, ALDI appear to offer that as does Sainsbury

They gave me the wrong click and collect food order, although contained a lot of items we would usually order. I drove home, 20 min drive and my wife then realised it was wrong. The resolution they offered was for me to drive back and exchange the order for the correct one, which took me approx 1 hour and another 18 miles of driving. They were not prepared to send it out on one of their vans and offered a token credit on my account. Terrible customer service, their fault - my problem!

Last 7 weeks on trot we have been stopped for check, today we realised that they are turning a 30% check into full checks by making something we know 110% we scanned show as not scanned, same happened couple of weeks ago with a bottle of spirits that's in a metal mesh and tagged, we know we scanned it as takes both of us to do it as someone pulls the mesh so can see bar card while other scan and we can't nick it anyway as tagged, we knew also 110% we scanned, been made to feel like criminals last 7 weeks as I'm sure many others have as neatly everyone when we go is also being checked, it's messed up our baby's routine of going sleep ect, our shopping is crushed and squashed from repacking everything, sorry tesco your not worth the hassle after 8 years shopping there, roll on lidl opening, in the meantime we will spend our 300 a week at morrisons

I love this store - plenty of stocked fresh fruit and veg - I get all I need with plenty of tills , shopping trolleys and parking - Fav Tesco and the guys and gals are always very pleasant. Thanks everyone . Always a positive experience.

The self-checkouts now require you to keep any items away from the scanner before they will reactivate after placing an item in the bagging area. This takes twice as long to scan anything, making me want to return to staffed tills who will wizz through my shopping. This recent change may have something to do with their AI theft imagery 'VAR' nonsense. The checkout also asks whether you would like a receipt, despite the fact that you are required to present your receipt to get the cage taken off your alcohol... I'd ask whether we've replaced regional managers with AI but only a human would be so shortsighted.
