The museum is quite small and about 60 percent of the space was used for temporary exhibitions. In our case, there was a large exhibition from Ikemura. This was really not my thing but moreover, it was a mismatch with the expressionist / early 20th century paintings in the rest of the museum. When we entered the gift shop, the top pieces of the museum were shown on postcards and other items. Quite a lot of these were not present in the museum. When I asked, the gentleman in the museum told us there are about 20.000 pieces in the museum's collection, of which they can only show a few. That is absolutely true if you only have 40% of the already small space available. I thought this policy is very unfortunate, I would definitely come back if they skip all temporary exhibitions and just show their own 20th century art collection, each season with different pieces of their awesome 20.000-piece collection. Went there with a big group, the organization called in advance to let them know about my wheat allergies. When we arrived I let them know that was me and I asked if I could eat the soup. Got no answer so I skipped the soup. When the open buffet was put down I went up to ask what I could eat and I was rudely sent back to me table. There was zero respect for my allergy and honestly the way he responded to me was beyond rude. I did not want to cause a scene in front of the 20 other geusts so I tried to figure out what I could eat which was very little without taking huge risks. The others at my table definitely noticed which was very awkward. The organization I went with tried their best in advance to make sure I could eat and at the other locations we visited earlier that day it was no problem at all. Overall the food I did have was okay, nothing special. The service was abysmal, I wouldn't advice anyone to go there.
