We’ve just returned from a wonderful day touring Hunter Valley Wineries with Cheers Bus! John went above & beyond facilitating this day out for us while we were visiting Newcastle from Brisbane. We joined a great group, visited 4 wineries, enjoyed vodka & gin tasting as well as chocolate & cheese tasting. Can thoroughly recommend Cheers Bus to anyone looking for a great wine tour!
My third tour with Cheers Bus and I have to say John is fantastic and great company! He tailored our third tour to make sure we see more of the Hunter. Definitely coming back for our fourth tour very soon!!
My husband Chris and I booked this company for a weekday tour around Hunter Valley wineries as part of our mini honeymoon after the wedding. Andy was our guide and driver, and he was incredibly genuine and easy to chat with—especially by our third winery, when we were feeling extra talkative! We felt safe and comfortable, and I loved that he took us to smaller, unique wineries rather than the larger commercial ones you’d find at Dan Murphy’s or BWS. He even mentioned that next time, we could send an itinerary, and he’d drive us and a group around. We’ll definitely be booking with Cheers Bus again. Thanks for an amazing experience!
Our friends group of 6 were entertained by John as our guide & driver on Saturday 7/12. We asked John to work out a day of visiting venues that provided tastings for wine & beer. John did an excellent job with visits to Hope Estate, Iron Bark Brewery (Draytons), 4 Pines and Hunter Wine Lab plus lunch at 19 Hunter Valley (the Vintage). For the wine & beer lovers this was an excellent tour of venues. John was great and stayed with us at each venue and gave us space when having lunch. We were very appreciative of his attention to our wants. Thank you John and we highly recommend using Cheers Bus when in the Hunter Valley.
John was great with organising the wine tour and was really flexible whilst keeping prices fair. Could not recommend enough!
Wine not!! John is an absolute legend. He brings a wealth of knowledge of the Hunter Valley and does an amazing tour. Really reasonable price for a full day. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend Cheers bus, John and Gary were very organised and knowledgeable. Was the perfect ladies day with a special limo treat for the first part of our day. Cheers bus tours took care of us and made the whole day easy and enjoyable! Cant wait to come back and book again! Lovely friendly blokes with great connections at the wineries. Highly recommended!
A truly enjoyable day for our first time in the Hunter region. John provided friendly service with a smile and well delivered dad jokes at a value that cannot be matched. He was knowledgeable about the region, with the wineries selected for the day very well suited to our group. A special shout out to Hunter Wine Lab, those guys were amazing. John, thank you for being so accommodating with our changes. We cannot recommend Cheers Bus enough and would give 10 stars ⭐️

Beautiful afternoon at briar ridge winery. Lisa was so friendly and attentive, making sure to tailer our tasting to what suited us. We brought our lil baby and dog, both were welcome. Such a nice afternoon!
What a great dog friendly wine experience! Staff were super nice, cheese platter was delicious and wine was divine! They even had a puppy-treat platter and pup hydration station for our dogs! It was such a lovely chilled way to spend our morning!
Had the perfect wine tasting at Briar Ridge with Shannon to kick start our visit to the Hunter. We booked our tasting online and had the cheese platter sitting out in the sun on the veranda. The outlook was magic, wines were delicious but most of all we loved the personalised service. Highly recommended a visit to Briar Ridge where you could easily spend a few hours drinking beautiful wines.
Thank you for a gorgeous cheese board and a decadent variety of wines. We had such a wonderful experience with the lady that served us and we definitely recommend Briar Ridge to others 🧀🍷🍃.
It's a very beautiful spot to do a wine tasting...a must try. Great wines, very friendly hosts.. Make sure you have your tasting with a cheese plate. Travelling with the Starr's gives Briar Ridge Vineyard ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.🌟 stars.
One of the most scenic vineyards I’ve visited in the Hunter. But what made our day was our host (so sorry I forgot the name, it was the lovely gentlemen who owns big dogs). He was welcoming, funny, knowledgable and even gave our group’s pup some treats. A lovely surprise was the complimentary cheese and crackers that came with the booking. Thank you so much, we are so grateful for the experience and I will be back for sure!
By far my most favourite wine tasting experience. All of the wine were great, and I would like to make a special shout out to Dave who served us; he was friendly and knowledgeable. Great place, highly recommended!
This was our first visit to Briar Ridge Vineyard - an absolutely beautiful place - a short drive from Pokloblin, but worth every kilometre spent on the road. Nine of us had a private tasting with Dave, our dedicated sommelier. He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and he chose excellent wines to suit everyone's taste. We left very happy and with boots full of wine boxes. Do yourself a favour and visit this winery ❤️🍷🍇❤️

We went for a wine tasting, so can't speak to the accommodation. Matt was knowledgeable and personable. Loved that he could show me the specific grapes for one of the wines, as well as share history of the vineyard. Wine is beautiful, tasting area has a wonderful feel to it.
We stayed at Mount View Estate’s newly renovated The Vineyard Villa last week, and were absolutely impressed! The villa combines modern style with a touch of luxury—two spacious bedrooms, automated curtains with stunning views, a large living area with a vintage fireplace, and a huge balcony with BBQ facilities perfect for gatherings. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, and the bathrooms are beautifully designed with thoughtful details like candles and aromatherapy! Wine tasting was also a highlight—great wines paired with cheese, honeycomb, and dried grapes. We even ended up enjoying a home party with friends over hotpot and red wine, which made the stay unforgettable. A perfect escape to relax, enjoy nature, wine, and food. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back with family and friends!
What a great experience with Matt for our wine tasting in the Hunter Valley. Knowledgeable, entertaining, incredible views and most importantly great wines. Highly recommend the 2021 Semillon, Reserve Pinot Noir and if you are hungry the cheese platter is amazing.. Had such a great time we brought friends on Sunday and we're hosted by Jade, lots of laughs and more indepth talks. Thank you so much for a great Hunter Valley experience
Mount View Estate is a fantastic winery in the Hunter Valley. Stunning views, fantastic wines, and really nice accommodation. It was a lovely place to stay for a weekend getaway, and the hospitality was amazing. Matt was super friendly and knowledgeable with our wine tasting experience. Leo made us feel so welcome and made our stay really pleasant. Took home a few bottles which we will be enjoying. Highly recommend checking them out, and we'll definitely be coming back again!
The night spent at Mount View Estate was an unforgettable one. The scenery here is extremely beautiful, and the sunset is very pretty. Enjoying the view of the Hunter Valley from the room is a treat. The wine here is also very good. I tasted six kinds, and my favorite was Fuchisa, which has rich bubbles. I highly recommend staying here and tasting wine. I will definitely bring my family and friends here again!
My friends and I had a fabulous time at Mount View Estate!! The views were spectacular and the wine was just exceptional. We were well looked after by Jade, who was so knowledgeable and attentive, which made the experience all the better! We also stayed on site at the accomodation which was stunning - gorgeous apartment and location. Hope to be back. Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience at Mount View Estate with some of the most delicious wines in the region. The renovations are just beautiful and the service exceptional. Matt really looked after us and was very knowledgeable and committed. He even called to follow up that we’d received our wine. We signed up for the wine club and are looking forward to coming back to stay one weekend.
We stayed at Mount View Estate for a wedding and had an amazing experience. The wine tasting at their Cellar Bar was a highlight. Sally was extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, and friendly. Beautiful venue, wonderful service, and great wines. Would definitely stay again and can’t wait to visit in the future!

This winery was the highlight of our Hunter Valley trip! The fantastic wine selection had something for everyone in our group. Our host (Jon the Pom) was a gem – his great humour made the tasting a real pleasure. We loved it so much, we left with six bottles! A definite must-visit.
GREAT WINERY!!! Been here for 3 consecutive years. Top selection of wines and great customer service. The staff is lovely, in particular Eka ( I hope I got the spelling right ). I' ll be back soon!! Ciao from Coogee
Had a wonderful time tasting at Petersons wines. John the pom was a kick! Loved his commentary and quick wit on all the wines as well as the food suggestions. The Mad Era is amazing....
This charming little winery totally won us over! The tasting was fantastic; we genuinely enjoyed every wine and discovered a few new favorites. John was an awesome host, super chill and fun, which made the whole experience even better
Elaine was just exceptional. This beautiful family run winery graces you with a stunning selection of wines and classic Aussie service. Great wines at awesome prices and special people - you can't go wrong!
Grant was fantastic! We had such a wonderful experience and the Mount View cellar door. Incredible wines, excellent music and chat! He showed us some excellent wines, off the list - loved it!!! Will be back :)
Had a tasting today and what can I say. We absolutely love it! We had Grant serve us and what a server. Friendly, experienced and made the wine tasting so much fun and the wines are to die for. We loved every single one. Would highly recommend and we will be back.
I am reviewing Petersons wines as a whole. As far as Brands go, I am yet to try a Petersons wine I don't like. All their wines are just superb! If I could give 11 stars I would! I will be a lifetime customer. Their fantastic selection guarantees that I never have to go to Dan's for wine again!

During our stay in Ellalong, we decided to explore some new wineries and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Carillion Wines. We were warmly welcomed and served by Victoria, who was absolutely exceptional. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned the very next day! This time, I had my two young daughters with me, but that didn’t take away from Victoria’s outstanding service. She made sure I still got to enjoy my wine tasting while juggling the little ones. We’ll definitely be back! My favourite wine was the sparkling rosé – it was delicious!
We went for standard wine tasting and ordered the charcuterie platter. The wine tasting experience was enjoyable with great open views. The cost of the tasting is redeemable upon purchase, which makes it very attractive and a great differentiator among the wineries. We would go back to try the premium tasting. We took the large platter, supposedly for 4, as it was only an extra $10. The platter was delicious but super small for a 4 people platter. At 2 it was just what we needed to accompany the wines.
Beautiful cellar door joined with Bistro Molines & cellar door overlooking beautiful valley of vineyards and great variety of wines! You can choose from their four different wine tasting flights from $10 to $30 per person, we picked the current vintage (3 white, 1 rose & 4 red) and Italian wines (3 white, 3 red & 1 dessert) experience. We’re hosted by a lovely & knowledgeable host who warmly welcomed us.
Came in for a quick glass before my booking at bistro molines and staff was quite friendly. Wine was amazing too! Had a glass of their Riesling
My partner and I did the Italian wine tasting and I couldn’t recommend it more, the lady who served us was very knowledgeable and helpful!
Scenic winery with very good and reasonably priced wines for tasting. The staff running the tasting were very informative and provided excellent service. It also shares the venue with Bistro Molines, also an excellent restaurant
I just have to say! That was the most amazing experience. Our server was incredibly kind and thoughtful. And made us feel so welcome. All the staff were great. The views. The atmosphere. The food. Many thanks xx
24/7/22 - My wife and I attended for wine tasting and walked out almost 2hrs later! We adored the stunning location and Neil made the experience. Neil was wonderful and made the wine tasting experience warm, funny and memorable. What can we say? Neil was an absolute gentleman and a legend! We could not leave the location without signing up as members! The wines are fantastic and certainly Neil’s knowledge of the wines was impressive! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you ☺️

Had the best time at Savannah’s Estate! Every wine was spot on and every pie was ridiculously tasty. The pairings were such a cool twist, taking a true Aussie favourite and matching it with wine was such a fun (and surprisingly perfect) combo. The pies were laid out beautifully alongside a generous pour of each wine, with a description of each and even where to get them from (no gatekeeping here!). We never felt rushed, just plenty of time to sip, snack and soak up the day. Highly recommend!
If you only have time to visit one winery in the Hunter, Savannah Estate might just blow you away - it certainly did for us! All of the wines we tried were incredible across the board. We also did the pie tasting which was so worth doing, and easily was the highlight of our trip. Shout out to our server Hunter, who was so lovely and knowledgeable, and made our day so much fun! Thanks once again, hope to be back soon 🤩🍷
Savannah Estate Winery is one of the Hunter Valley’s most delightful hidden gems. Host Karen brings a rare personal touch to every guest experience, greeting visitors with warmth and genuine hospitality. Her passion goes beyond the wine itself – she shares a wealth of knowledge about the region, its history, and its hidden spots, making every visit both enriching and memorable. This is more than a wine tasting – it’s a heartfelt Hunter Valley experience.
Had an amazing experience at Savannah Estate with Karen who was so patient in teaching us all there is to know about the Family estate and wineries, along with the different wines. We opted for the Pie and Wine tasting. A must try if you are visiting the Hunter valley. My favorite was the Reserve Muscat which went so well with the Caramel White chocolate goodness. I wish I could go back 3 hours and experience it all over again!
To say our experience here was great would be an understatement. It was absolutely phenomenal. We had Kelly and Hunter go through our pie and wine tasting experience and it was the highlight to our trip. The pies were so delicious and the wines paired were a match made in heaven. Thank you Hunter and Kelly for the BEAUTIFUL experience. We will definitely be back ☺️
Absolutely brilliant winery. We did the pie and wine tasting which was such a fun and delicious experience. A very clever way to taste wines elevated alongside food and the pies were to die for. Their sweet wines were especially amazing. I’ll be drinking the frizzante all summer
Everything was amazing! From the moment we walked in the door, the service, the wine and all the yummy pies, fabulous! Savannah looked after our group of 6 ladies like no-one else on our 3 days of wine tours. Thanks so much Savannah and team! We’ll be back and recommending you to all! 🩷
Called in here for a glass of wine before headed to a luncheon. Ladies in the cellar door were absolutely lovely. I had a sparkling brut and husband had a glass of semillon. Beautiful wines in a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for the experience! Will be back for a tasting!

arrived aprox. 5:30pm to see the sunset valley view and surprisingly get full moon hanging on the great blue mountain range
Decent view of the valley, but don’t expect much in terms of a developed lookout - there are no facilities at all here. It’s unsealed roads most of the way up and the site has had graffiti and garbage problems in the past, which detracts from the experience. On our last visit, while it seemed there had been an effort to clean some of that up, it looked like a car had been recently abandoned in the area.
Mediocre view but worth a quick look if you are travelling along this road. One picnic table, a bin and lots of grafitti
Good place to stop by and have a rest, also can drive around and look at the vineyards and mountains
Nice lookout with a bin and picnic table, there was evidence of needle use so just be careful, especially with kids
Great place for picnic and bush walking, we watched fighter jet do flyover on ANZAC day across valley
Fairly open lookout with a picnic table and good views across Cessnock and the wineries. Plenty of room for parking and grassed area if you wanted to have a picnic. Only thing that is missing is toilet facilities if you were to do so.
Good view but the area is filled with rubbish from others. Looks like a local make out spot for teens.
