Nice “cañón”. Lots of vultures. Quiet. Short trip from Madrid or Avila or obviously Segovia. Nice quiet drive
It's a really beautiful spot to have a picnic. You can see vultures and other wildlife flying around the canyon, it's an easy walk to the viewing point (not too steep and not too far) from the car park
Excelent spot to watch vultures. There are hundreds of them Bring 💦 and 🧢. Great views of the river.
Absolutely breathtaking place well worth the 1km walk from the car park. Try to go when no one else is there. The dirt road to the car park is a bit sketchy but that's what a hire car is for!
A beautiful place if you wanna do something different en funny, so enjoyable.
Spectacular canyons with breathtaking views of the meandring river Durantón from up top. Arrive at Burgomillodo and leave the car in the parking of the restaurant by the outfall of the reservoir. Cross the bridge towards the Factory and follow the earthed path upwards that will lead you to the beginning of the trek. Following the trek you'll end up on the plateau from where you can enjoy some amazing sights. You can keep following the serpentine route of the canyon and reach a point from where Ermita de San Frutos is viewed. The trek can be continued onwards and you'll see some ruins along the way which I guess are the remains of cattle shelters made by the locals. The difficulty level of the trek is low.
The place worths the walk. Better visiting in the fall as in the summer is tooo hot to get the church. Full of a variety of flowers and plants for biology lovers. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water with you!
Amazing eagles site seeing where you can enjoy see them in there normal habitats Worth to visit There’s also some historic view point near by

(Translated by Google) The building began construction in 1543, and, except for some small renovations, its appearance has not changed much over the centuries. Of its three floors, the lower and upper floors were always intended for use as a prison (until the 20th century), while the middle floor is the one that has experienced the most modifications and uses. It was the Council House until a new town hall was built on the other side of the square in 1870, and then it became the home of the head of the prison until its final closure. Later, it was renovated to carry out cultural activities. The building, of about 400 square meters, was renovated in 2014 to house a permanent exhibition of an educational and informative nature that shows the use and ways of life in this type of prisons, with its social and historical implications. It also houses the Tourist Office.

(Translated by Google) The old Church of Saints Justo and Pastor, from the 12th and 13th centuries, became the Fueros Museum in 2007. This church on the street of Santos Justo y Pastor de Sepúlveda, one of the most beautiful areas of this historic Segovian town, was declared a National Monument in 1931, and has housed in its interior since 2007 the Museum of the Fueros, which was created for the conservation and dissemination of these documents, of great importance in the Middle Ages for the town. It is located within the wall that protected Sepúlveda, behind the Puerta del Azogue, a word that means market, so possibly the market would be developed in its vicinity. This Romanesque style church must have been one of the most relevant churches in Sepúlveda, which seems to be confirmed by the importance of the burials that were carried out in its side chapels. In the 15th century, the four original semicircular arches were replaced by two larger ones and the Mudejar coffered ceiling was installed. As for the museum's collection, it houses pieces from the 13th century to the 18th century, documents, sculptures, paintings, silverware and textiles that demonstrate the richness and extensive development of Sepúlveda's artistic heritage. Inside is also the city's Tourist Office.

(Translated by Google) An epigraph near the church reads: "Romanesque in style and built between the 12th and 13th centuries, it surprises with its slender tower and complex basilica plan, with three naves and each of them with a semicircular apse - there is no other Romanesque like it in Sepúlveda. The church was restored a few years ago to house the Fueros Museum, where you can learn about the history of the town and discover its important historical-artistic heritage. In the same way, the museum lighting exceptionally shows the visitor its surprising Mudejar coffered ceiling or the exquisite carving of the capitals: quadrumanous monsters, harpies, compositions based on the adoration of the Three Wise Men or the martyrdom of its titular saints."

(Translated by Google) This Segovian town, which was repopulated in the last quarter of the 11th century and belonged to the Community of Villa y Tierra de Sepúlveda, preserves one of the best examples of the Romanesque portico in the province. This church dedicated to Saint Peter in Chains was built between the 12th and 13th centuries, with a single nave and semicircular apse. To the north is the tower, with two bodies separated by an impost, and simple construction. The general construction is of plastered masonry with ashlar reinforcements in the corners. Its exterior, with balanced volumetry, shows through the floor plan. A magnificent portico, made of limestone ashlar, runs along the south and west facades. It stands on a plinth, where the paired columns rest on richly carved historic capitals on which the semicircular arches rest. To the south is the main entrance, through a bent semicircular arch, decorated with palmettes in the voussoirs and a geometric border on the external thread. Model that is repeated at the entrance door to the temple. To the west is the so-called 'gate of the feet', today walled up, with voussoirs decorated in a zigzag pattern. The apse, on the outside, has a splayed semicircular opening, with columns with historic capitals. It is finished with a cornice of checkered corbels, which support a conical roof.

The most notable thing about the church is the porticoed gallery. It is striking that the portico factory uses a better construction technique and material - perfectly cut and squared ashlar - than the humble masonry temple. The magnificent care of some capitals that represent acanthus leaves is striking. There are also sculpted figurative baskets with zoomorphic themes such as pairs of lions and birds.
