It was a nice experience, very relaxing. We went as a group and had a good time.
Staff is friendly, but don't fool yourself, even if the price is on the low side, you won't have an amazing experience but only a good enough experience. Main pool has about 5 jets not working. The one where you seat and should have bubbles coming out of the chair only 3 out of 6 work. The showers near the sauna 2 are out of commission (only 1 works), and doesn't matter how much you press the hot water button - only cold comes out. The thermal water room is OK, but even the thermal water sprinkler system is a bit damaged (the T coupling gushes out water, so it's quite hot in that spot and then not so much water goes out to the very last sprinkler. Overall, water is good and if you are not put off by the rest you can enjoy it. We came with grandma and kids and it is as ok. It's a shame as the potential is here, but they are letting the equipments fail and run the place down to the ground. They could make a nice enough experience and be a calling card for the region... But meh 3/5 stars and I'm being a tiny bit generous
I love the sulphur steam room! It's a bit tired and old, with some things not working, but overall it's good value, and good staff.
A lot of facilities are out of service, saunas for example. But outdoor part is pretty much nice.
Cold water and non-functioning amenities in the expensive (15€ for one hour) thermal spa. Staff dismissive and could care less about the user experience.
this is relaxing and reasonably priced place to enjoy the (treated) hot spring waters of this famous areas. The place is a cross between a basic spa and a municipal swimming pool, it's seen better days, but it's comfortable, clean and the facilities that are open are relaxing,. it wasn't too busy, but booking online ( or by popping in and reserving) is recommended. The staff were very friendly and informative, and you'll need flip flops and a hair covering to use the pools. you can rent them for one euro, along with towels. The hot spring waters don't smell ( as they have been treated) but are a good hot temperature, the main pool having 15 different jets to enjoy, some very strong, for shoulders, back, thighs, arms, etc. Very relaxing to do the 'thermal circuit', around the pool, the building is a big glass atrium ( time your visit to sunset if you can, lovely light with the water) , there's a bubbling bath of steaming water with copper and steal beds to lay on as the waters do their magic to your aches and pains. .... towels thick, sauna not working but there was a discount in the ticket price, pleasant happy staff and easy parking. We have done a wide range of hot springs in this area and these spa type baths are worth a visit, a relaxing, fun few hours which leaves you feeling healthy, warm and your skin super soft. We walked home along the river bank walk, right outside the Spa, feeling great. The changing rooms could do with some renovation, but this is a service supplied by the local authority, and it's pretty good for the price you pay. well worth a visit, even if you're not that interested in hot springs or the properties of the thermal waters of this region.
Nice spa with massages and a nice pool.
If you're looking for a professional therapeutic massage don't go here because you'll pay 50€/hour of poor service/equipments. This is a good place to relax in the water circuit (12€/pax - weekdays) and that's it.

Beautiful church with a beautiful alter and painted ceiling 🙏
It´s a normal church of a small village of Portugal The interior is interesting, wiith the altar carved in wood During the feasts of "Nossa Senhora das Dores" (Our Lady of Sorrows) the church is very well decorated, as can be seen in the attached photograph

(Translated by Google) The Santa Casa da Misericordia de Monção was in operation in the middle of the 16th century, since in 1561 the lazaretto of S. Gião was incorporated into it with all its assets and income. In 1690 the brothers decided to build a new headquarters, choosing the current location. The works began soon - the date of 1693 appears on the north cover - and progressed with the royal donation of 400 reales per year in 1696. The works were completed in the 18th century, in which reforms were made to the temple to, at the end of the century, build, semi-detached, the Casa do Consistorio. The sober baroque exterior is also seen inside, where the golden altarpiece of the main chapel stands out, presided over by the Virgin of Mercy. The roof of the nave is made of boxes painted with angels. Also noteworthy is the organ - which must be from the 18th century - which is still awaiting restoration.

The Church of Monção dates back at least to the early years of the 14th century. Its interior reveals a unique architectural evolution, with particular reference to the Chapel of Saint Sebastian, built in the 15th century ,a listed building. In addition to this beautiful Gothic chapel, attention should also be drawn to the gilded woodcarvings and the tomb of Deu-la-Deu Martins, the heroine of Monçāo.

It has different architectural influences such as Gothic, Manueline or Baroque, with its façade being in the Romanesque style. The façade is composed of three archivolts decorated with floral and geometric motifs, sitting on three pairs of columns with decorative capitals with plant motifs. (Translated by Google) The church of Our Lady of Monzón (Monçao) was born, at least, with the town itself, in 1261, when it received charter from Alfonso III. If there was a previous building, it was completely redone at the beginning of the 14th century, when the western façade dates, the rest being from the modern period, especially the 17th and 18th centuries. With a single nave, the main chapel houses a large baroque altarpiece in which the image of the Trinity stands out, on the Gospel side. The most important thing in the temple is the late Gothic chapel of San Sebastian, founded by the apostolic notary D. Vasco Marinho to be buried there. It opens to the church through a large, highly decorated pointed arch, with the tomb on the north side, presided over by an image of the Virgin among her weapons. The epitaph bears the date 1521. Of lesser artistic value is, on the other side, the chapel of Deu-la-deu Martins, from 1679. The remains of this heroine would rest there, presenting, in Monção, what is attributed to various legendary women in other towns. European. With the place surrounded by the troops of Henry II of Castile, in one of the wars he had with Ferdinand I of Portugal –1369-1370, one, and 1372-1373 the second–, with Monçao already practically without provisions, Deu-la -deu had two loaves baked and, climbing up the wall, he threw them to the besiegers who, assuming they could not defeat the town due to hunger, lifted the siege. The fact is recorded in the town's coat of arms, where a woman appears on a tower with a loaf of bread in each hand and, on the border, the phrase "Deus o deu, Deus o ha dada", which would be what Deus said. la-deu to the besiegers.

It’s simply beautiful! In any time you can enjoy the silence and the music of nature!
Amazing place for visiting
Perfect for countryside, good food and wine lovers. Very cheap costs overall and very friendly people
The views are stunning, wait for the sunset you'll love it!
Nice view but not much more to it..
Its a castle, i guess, giving 4 stars because it does nothing wrong but its one of the most boring castles I've been to.

Great little museum. Even though the woman spoke no English, we both worked through our bad high school French to understand each other, had a laugh, and sampled the wine. The whole area was wonderful.
Great service! Don't miss the wine tasting!
I didn’t expect such an interesting and informative museum about a very special local wine, the lady preferred to do it in French which was fine for me, don’t miss this museum
Museum with free entry. Gives some information on the history of wine making in the area, but most importantly it includes a free wine tasting! Mind the siesta closing times
Small but great museum. The have funky lighting setup and you can do a few free tasting of local moncao alvarinho wine!
Nice museum, we can taste and understand why this wine is so fresh and elegant, the staff was amazing.
Except for the bad English translation of the video
