Lots to explore. Fun day out for children with water play areas, some siving for gold, a nice gift shop with a small cafe area ad there's also a playground outside to the right. Ample parking.
The place was very nice and beautiful. If you want to see amethyst stones that's a very nice place. Also there's a big area where kids can play with water and on the playground where there are also rabbits. The amethyst digging was very interesting (and yes it's not a scam :-)) but you can only take one handful
A nice place for a weekend visit, especially if you are with kids. The guided tours in the mine and the exhibition are only in german. Very interesting attraction for the kids is to dig for minerals. The gardens are also nice and free for access.
We liked this place very much. For free you can enjoy well maintained park in style of healing-garden and children-playground. Guided tours were unfortunately only in German, so our teenagers went to dig for amethyst in a small area for the fee 7,-Eur/person/hour. Each of them has found full palm of little and bigger stones, so they were happy enough. Who haven't found, got the stones from the stuff as a memory when leaving. There is also cafe, shop with exhibition of stones and related products to buy, you can spend a lot, but we enjoyed the atmosphere of sunny autumn day and digging there, which are precious memories. We would like to visit Maissau castle, but was closed. If you are there, visit the near Kittenberger Adventure Gardens, too, as we did. It's great for all generations. It's possible to come with the dog :-) What we missed > brochures with information in other languages
A real amethyst mine, that you can visit and a gemstone museum
A lovely place to visit. It is located close to Czech borders and is really nice acessible. The museum, mine, mineral shop and the digsite are really nice and worth visiting. However if you do not speak german, you’ll have serious problem to understand anything because all the labels, divny, guides etc are only in German. Also the personel does not speak English in most cases so even to understand the tickets and which to buy and for which price is a challenge. I think that it would be really helpful to have signs and labels in English and Czech (given that it is so close to Czechia borders) that would make the visit even more enjoyable.
We enjoyed a lot the Amethyst world and since our visit I already recommended it to several people with kids. We were not quite sure what to expect, so we were not optimally prepared. My advise to all would be: pick your clothes wisely. If you want to dig - dress an old pair of jeans and not your best shoes :) Also bring along some nylon bag or something else, to sit on while you do the digging. It will make it more pleasant and not so intense on your knees. Otherwise the rest of the place is also very interesting and nice. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy the nature, have a small picknick and learn some new things about minerals. EVERYTHING is in German, no translation is available. There is a small cafeteria, where you can get a snack or a drink. We will be better prepared next time for sure, and come back for more amethysts.
Our sons loved digging for amethyst in the back and would have been doing it for hours had we let them. We also did a tour of the house with the NO card - note that it is all in German (including displays). We were lucky in that the young woman on our tour (June 26, noon) took a bit of her time when she could to very kindly explain some things to us in English, which we greatly appreciated. There was a young astrophysicist student who, on his first day on the job, also shared with us in English what he had soaked in so far (which was a lot). We were so very appreciative of their time and effort in trying to make this a fun experience for us (and it was!). Brought our own picnic lunch and there are many tables set up for it. Really nice playground on the outside as well for younger kids … and the adults enjoyed the zip line as well!

Beautifull walkthrough, nice park, views and atmosphere. Schloss itself is closed for visit. But architecture and quality of masonry is breathtaking! Very well repaired.
Nice place to look at from the outside. Not open to the general public. Can be booked for functions I believe.
It looks good...just what you see on the outside. Unfortunately it is not open to the public. The best view is from the speedway 😀 we saw it from there too.
A nice walk in the woods around the castle, however the castle is not open to the public.

The late Gothic in its core two-storey four-winged building with tiled hipped roofs and tower was built around the 1570. An inscription above the portal on the south facade shows this year. The castle was originally enclosed by a fortified wall, of which only parts are preserved today.

This should be a warning to all flea market fans: It's not worth traveling long distances! Even the nearby Amethyst World in Maissau can offer more and it's not particularly special.

The food was AMAZING. The variety available was perfect. The English menu was unclear but i was able to order some delicious dishes i like based on the humble descriptions (5 different homemade spreads, picked 3 different breads to go with, and a wine maker's bread that tasted and looked like a pizza!) The prices were more than reasonable; a feast for only 42 euros. The waiter and waitress were also very nice and knew English which made the experience easier for us. I can't bekieve how yummy this was! Im enchanted. Will be back here if/when I return to Austria/this region!
Very crowded and very cold in winter, not too comfortable tables and chairs, and actually quite a noisy place! But the food was quite ok, nicely priced, and I found the service to be relatively quick and friendly. The parking lot is situated directly next to the restaurant, and the overall location is easy to find and to get to, especially by car. I would recommend a table reservation on a weekend.
Nice place with super food...
Very good vino and bread covered with lots of different things
(Translated by Google) A beautiful place with a fantastic view of the Wagram region. The food is excellent, and the wines are good. Very attentive and friendly staff. We'd happily return.
