Go where the locals go!! This lake is often visited by locals! So its not touristy... you can go swimming in the clear waters or take a walk around the lake which is almost flat or one may even follow a trail which is about 9km from this lake which leads to an even smaller lake than the one in the picture. The lake has striking shades of blue. Don’t forget to carry your swimsuit and picnic basket!!
August 24: Truly amazing place! Take your lunch snacks and drinks, find a place in shadow/sun and just relax. Parking spot can be hard to get especially after 10am, so people are parking down the road and walk. It’s free. There are free bio toilets or paid toilets at the bistro. Water in August was great to swim and to enjoy. The road to the lake is Ok in summer, we drove 30-50kmh, not that narrow. Almost no internet connection there! Highly recommended!
A hidden Gem! Why? Because it's not as famous as the other lakes in the Salzkemmergut like Gosausee, Fuschlsee or Königsee (this one close in Germany), but it's absolutely stunning! Be careful, there's a paid parking lot (and not free contrary to what has been written in other reviews), but you don't pay at the entrance, but at the exit (the car number is identified by cameras). When we got there by noon, it was full so be ready to wait for a space, but it was worth it. You can swim if the weather permits or walk around the lake. The walk is relatively short, about an hour, but if you want to walk to the second lake as well, it'll take around 2 hours of easy walk. Enjoy it!
Nice to walking here.
Nice, small lake wedged between the mountains. Be mindful of nature and the animals, so please take your trash back home with you!
Very beautiful lakes .. walking very easy. . Must see . . Stunning . . You can swimm there . .
It took my breath away. Fairytale like.

This astonishing lake is located around 8 km away from Ebensee and is very clean. From the parking area there are only few steps to this beautiful gem.
Nice lake, but I can’t understand all the hype. Very comparable to Almsee, however in my view Almsee is even more beautiful, albeit croweded to the same extent. Parkings are full; while taking a hike around the lake you have to watch out for numerous cyclists, and crowds with children make a lot of noise. The restrooms on the “beach” are extremely stinky and can’t be used by people who have a fully funtional olfaction.
This lake located at the western end of the Totes Gebirge mountain range in Upper Austria's part of the Salzkammergut. It’s almost 20 mins drive from Ebensee. A bit tucked away from the city scenes but definitely worth visiting. Crystal clear water. You can make a round trip And the path is very comfortable path, very suitable with kids. Parking is free
Nice small lake located few kilometers away from Ebensee. We made a trip around the lake, it tooked bit more than 7 kilometers. Really easy walk, flat country around the lake, easy accessible for everyone. There is a jausestation to make a stop for beer or coffee.
Nice beach with maintained grass and shallow water. Good for kids and families. Easy access by car with free parking. Simple restaurant offering fast foods.
Paddleboard recommended, beer is good👍
An extremely beautiful landscape with a beautiful mountain lake. The round walk around the lake is very nice & easy. It takes around 1 hour.
So nice and beauriful, best view with österaich radler

Amazing place with great views. The team is great, very helpful, accommodating and supportive. Thank you for the great skiing/snowboarding experience and the ski school is super!
Could be good if the weather is clear. Nb: don't try walking down yourself unless your an experienced walker, take the lift. Please use a GPS or a fully charged mobile phone with map function.
On the top of Höllengebirge = Feuerkogel =Great views in the summertime. From the top I saw Langbathsee and that was the next stop. Best place ever :-)
Really amazing view to a land bellow. Great trip for a sunny summer day.
Amazing view, beautiful nature, interesting tracks
it can be a really nice trip
Nice view and mountains
(Translated by Google) In our opinion, the Feuerkogel is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Salzkammergut. The cable car takes you quickly to an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters. Free parking is available on-site for cable car passengers. The round-trip ticket for adults costs €29 per person. At the top, visitors are treated to a fantastic panoramic view with stunning photo opportunities. There are various hiking options, beautiful viewpoints, and mountain inns. During our visit, there were also cows grazing in the pasture, welcoming us with their chimes. For us as occasional hikers, there were beautiful hiking and walking trails lined with paths and offering great viewpoints. Stopping at the Edelweiss mountain inn was also a highlight. The beautiful terrace, the view, and the food—everything is highly recommended. Traditional, delicious food, very friendly, helpful, and attentive staff, and reasonable prices, too. An unforgettable visit for us. A full 5 stars for the Feuerkogel excursion, and we'd love to come back. 🇦🇹♥️🇦🇹

(Translated by Google) Fine museum, modern and handicapped accessible, with almost 1000m2 of exhibition space on 4 floors, offering everything from modern art to customs and industry. We particularly recommend the special exhibitions “Young Art in Old Walls” and “100 Years of ESV Ebensee”, which are open throughout the summer. Last but not least, the impressive Glöckler cap exhibition in the 400-year-old attic - conclusion: definitely see it😃👍 (Original) Feines Museum, modern und behindertengerecht ausgestattet, auf 4 Etagen fast 1000m2 Ausstellungsfläche, bietet von moderner Kunst bis Brauchtum und Industrie einfach alles.
(Translated by Google) We visited the museum because of the current nativity scene exhibition and were thrilled by the great exhibits that can be seen here alongside the lovingly designed, some very old, nativity scenes. Ebensee has a very interesting history (salt works, Solvay works, timber industry, migration, tourism, education) and many traditions (Glöcklerlauf, rag parade, bird catchers, landscape nativity scenes). All of these topics are presented in an extremely informative and clear manner. A special highlight is the old attic with original, incredibly artistically executed bell caps. A visit to this museum is highly recommended.👍 Many thanks to Günter Neuhuber for the tour with expert and entertaining explanations!

The museum is absolutely worth a visit as you will see animals and a movie about the region in a quality you will not find anywhere so easily. The owner is very passionated about nature, animals and is very nice. Thank you and we come again!
Perhaps the best taxidermy museum/exhibition I have ever visited! The dioramas on display are incredibly elaborate, creative and exhibit rare animals that you don’t even find in the Natural History museum in Vienna. Generally, the taxidermy work is very delicate and professional. There‘s also a lot of educational content, media and films, interactive displays placed in different spots of the museum. Couldn’t recommend Naturmuseum more, for both adults and children!
Interesting exhibition that can be quite entertaining for children. But even with the second floor, you can cover everything in 15-20 minutes max.
Very impressive in both scope and quality of pieces. A much more personal and tangible experience than most other natural history (etc.) museums. We had a good talk with the owner, who is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Very highly recommended!
Fun little museum; do not expect a large exposition, but rather a nice collection of all kinds of animals.
Really lovely museum, must visit place. Excellent dioramas, dedicated stuff, lots of rare species. A real pearl in the middle of Austrian alps.
Nice little place for a short visit. It has many different stuffed animals, from around the world. My kids loved it, others may be scared. It had also a nice nature movie of the kalkalpen when we were there. Certainly a good stop for rainy days. Entry price is very reasonable as well.
Great natural history museum with beautiful taxidermy objects and extremely knowledgeable staff.

Can‘t rate the rooms but the food and the staff are excellent, recommended for everybody who likes great cooking and friendly service
Our room was really clean, towels changed every day. Breakfast had many options and the staff was friendly. If you're in the are, we do recommend this hote.
This hotel was perfect - in the best location overlooking the lake and mountains, right beside the dock, and on the main square. Hotel has great amenities, everything from bed to bathroom was great. We loved our room with a big balcony overlooking the lake. The room was nicely decorated and had a huge bathroom. The breakfast was included and was very extensive and classy. All the staff were very friendly and professional. What a memorable visit to Ebensee! Go for the lake view, it's so worth it, so breathtakingly beautiful!!!
Definitely the best place in this area! We (1adult+two kids) stayed in a double room apartment , which was very neat, two rooms and a pallor with a comfortable coach, we had a great kitchen aswel for cooking plus a very nice balcon with a gorgeous view. Breakfast was absolutely a win for us! You can find here whatever you need, coffee, all kinds of bread, cheese, boiled egss, hams….. Really anything what you can possibly desire in the morning :) The location of the hotel is very good, so many activities to do! You can rent car or bike here aswel! We will be definitely back to this amazing place :)
Well located pleasant hotel. Good sized family room with small cooking area. Nice bar and good varied choice for breakfast. Free wifi. Nice restaurant attached with choice of local and seasonal products. 200 metres from lake and close to all facilities.
Sparkling clean accommodations, spacious room, delicious food and beyond hospitable staff. My family and I were welcomed as a last minute walk in and management could not have more helpful when they shipped personal items we left behind. They deserve 10 stars out of 5. We will be back!!
I was there for a breakfast with a couple of colleagues, the food is very good and the choice too as well. The waitress was very nice and kind!
I LOVE the FOOD in their RESTAURANT. We stopped by and had lunch. We didnt expect that they have a wonderful dish ever! With reasonable price.

It was the best experience ever. The owner Mario was such a nice host, kind and very friendly. The atmosphere is amazing. The cars are very comfortable and safe, the trail is super exciting. I would recommend this place to everyone who loves this kind of adrenaline rush! 🏎👏🏻
We had an awesome experience! The track is really fun Was definitely worth the detour on the way to Vienna! Hope to get back again in the future
Great kart track, good value, up to date timing tech and stats, helpful staff, nice short safety briefing! No seatbelts which I think are usually present on other tracks I've been to, so you do accept that personal risk, but as long as you're good with that it's a great place to go.
The perfect karting place! Me, my boyfriend and his family/friends normally go to Kartworld but I decided to try Karthalle, absolutely no regrets! Prices are affordable, the track is big, karts are fast and the staff is really attentive and kind (unlike kartworld), so whenever we had a crash they helped us really fast so we wouldn’t lose lap time. Definitely coming back soon! 10/10 experience.
Great track, perfect karts and easygoing owner.
