It's really great local park in the summertime. The water features are really lovely for the kids. It has sandbox play area. Park is equipped with drink vending machine and bathrooms (bathrooms not so great). Trees offer shade from the summer sun. Other seasons I'd give it a star less.
Great park, lots of mature trees for shade, variety of play equipment including slide, sandpit, flying fox, fountains and stream for children to play in the water. Highly recommend it. About 15min from south exit of Asaka station.
Great place for kids to play in the water in summer.
Great place to walk and make some walk, exercises. Friendly place for children and adults and elderly people. Ramen restaurant close as a Seven Eleven shop
Very nice park. Baseball field, track, and playground.
Quiet place and great to go walking. Big and natural.
A park where the kids and parents can enjoy.

10-15min walk from the south exit of Asaka Station. There isn’t much shade on the walk so don’t forget your hat - not is the park very shady so definitely need a hat and shades, too! It’s a lovely park though, quite wide and the sunset from there is gorgeous. Lots of fun for kids playing creatively. The NPO that facilitates risky play only operates certain days a month so check that out ahead of time, or bring a ball and just have a kick around with your family or friends.
Silent place and good for family playground and excellent spot for picnic
Great place relax on weekend
(Translated by Google) It's the perfect place to bask in the sun. I have used a tent to dry clothes. There is also a basketball goal. On the tax office side, there are people who are enjoying slacklining and people who are doing activities for children to enjoy nature. Asaka no Mori has a slightly winding loop course. Be careful of pedestrians, but it's perfect for practicing riding a bicycle. Recently, it has become a venue for events. The show was lively, with classic Showa cars on display. This is a place that is likely to be used more and more widely in the future.
(Translated by Google) Next to Aobadai Park is Asaka Forest. There is a BBQ and various activities. It is OK to set up a pegged tent, and no special application is required. You can easily do day camping. If you wish to use fire, you may only use it within the designated area and must apply (no bonfires allowed, only gas allowed). You can download area guide maps and apply for reservations online. Please search for "Asaka no Mori General Reservation" on Google (confirmed with Asaka City Hall). The dust can be heavy on windy days, so we recommend checking the forecast before making a reservation. There is a water source, but please use the restrooms at Aobadai Park, which is right next door. (Translated by Google) I went to see Asaka no Mori, which is adjacent to Aobadai Park. This was the planned site (3 hectares) for national civil servants' accommodation. I know a time when public facilities such as parks and schools began to be built one after another in areas that were once restricted to areas surrounded by chain-link fences. Over the years, I felt that Aobadai Park had been overdeveloped. Still, publicly managed parks are necessary, and it is acknowledged that they have sufficient value. However, if there is a large piece of land that is no longer in use nearby, I think it is natural for the people who live there to take the initiative and want a park or plaza that resembles an ``autonomous area.'' I got it. It is different from Aobadai Park, which has unusual play equipment. Prohibited items will be kept to a minimum, but as this is a place for citizens to use and relax, it seems that they have established the minimum necessary rules, and an organization has also been set up to manage such behavior. However, as the signboard states, "Base site interim use plaza management and operation preparation plaza, November 2012," even if the base is returned, 19.1 hectares will remain as state-owned land, of which 3 hectares will remain. However, the attempt to build a lodging facility for national civil servants was abandoned due to a lot of opposition, and it is believed that the site is now being used as ``Asaka no Mori.'' Although it is a plaza, the entire area is covered with a chain-link fence and there are time restrictions, so it is not possible to freely enter and exit at any time. As you enter the plaza, you will see large trees such as ``Shiraoak'', ``Yamazakura'', and ``Momiji-sycamore'' lined up in regular rows. It may have been pruned, but when you watch small children playing freely on the wide meadows or lawns from a distance, you realize how valuable the existence of parks and squares like this are. As mentioned above, this was once Camp Drake (North Camp). I'll spare you a lot of information, but during the height of the Vietnam War, there was a field hospital here. There was a junior high school nearby. Several times, I saw injured soldiers looking through the wire fence on the way to school, and even as a junior high school student I could tell that they were physically and mentally ill. It was not uncommon to see American soldiers walking around town. In 1974, it was decided that the majority of the base would be returned to Japan, and in 1986, the main part was completely returned to Japan in 1986. The former junior high school was moved to the back of Asaka Nishi High School, and the place that was the junior high school became the 4th elementary school. I was amazed at how the city has changed over the decades. I went out to find out, but I still felt unsure, so I went out again. When I first went out, I stopped by City Hall. When I told them that I was there to see how the site had changed, they told me who the person in charge was. Thank you very much for your kindness. However, I only received a tourist pamphlet and resigned. It might have been better to ask the department where the person in charge is. However, since I just wanted to write my impressions and not write a paper, I think this was a good idea. If I have a chance, I might visit you next time.

(Translated by Google) This is the Asaka City version of the local museum located in each municipality. The modern building has a stylish appearance and is labeled as a museum. When you first enter the entrance, you will see an atrium courtyard in front of you, and to your right is a lounge with a table and chairs, and an outdoor waterwheel promenade. Unfortunately, when I visited, access to the promenade was not possible due to maintenance. Also, the outdoor waterwheel was stopped with no water flowing, but I felt that the guide lines and amount of exhibits in the exhibition room were just the right amount to casually learn about Asaka's history (^^). We spent a little time touring the city's modern history, learning about how the banks of the Shingashi River in the city area were a busy hub for boat transportation between Kawagoe and Edo, and how the copper rolling industry developed using waterwheels. The last part of the exhibition room is a full-sized water wheel that will move for a certain period of time when someone approaches it (though it is powered by electricity). As a side note, I would like to introduce a shocking truth about the city name (town name) that I learned at our museum. It is said that in 1932, when the former village of Hizaori became a town, the Tokyo Golf Club moved there, and it was named ``Asaka Town'' after the honorary president of the Tokyo Golf Club, His Imperial Highness Prince Asaka, who believed that ``Hizaori is bad luck'' (^^). No, it's interesting! As a side note, the Tokyo Golf Club Asaka Course was purchased by the Ministry of War at the time as a site for a military school, and in 1940, the year before the outbreak of war between the United States and Japan, it disappeared after only eight years (it was moved to Sayama City in the same year), but the Asaka name remained and it became a city to this day. The Asaka City Museum is free to visit and consists of three rooms—one of which is larger—along with an outdoor area featuring a pond and a mill wheel. It provides insight into the city’s rich history, highlighting the role of copper manufacturing and the rivers in its early development. Although small, the museum is packed with information. Please note that all signs and descriptions are written in Japanese only.

It's too old to say anything, but apparently people lived in Asaka around 30,000 BC. I didn't know that the area around the Kawagoe Kaido road that stretches from the Asaka police ruins towards Shiki City flourished as a post town called Hitsuori-juku. There were certainly some old historical buildings in that area. Considering the current calm flow of the Meguro River, it is hard to imagine that copper rolling was carried out using the power of a waterwheel powered by the water of the Meguro River. Although it is not big enough to be called a promenade, there is a promenade that passes by the waterwheel. Please be careful as there are mosquitoes. Great environment to chill with your friend, a lot of trees. But, kinda far from the station (Asaka Station) if you choose to walk.
This is a small public park situated on a steep hillside. It has its own waterfall, hence the name. The huge trees give plenty of shade even for the play area. Most places are accessible via steps, so those with sore legs will find this place difficult to enjoy. The toilets are at the foot of the hill. Recommended if you are living nearby or visiting someone.

What surprised me more was that there was no explanation about this place at the Asaka City Museum. It's only about a 10-minute walk away, so I thought I'd do some research at the museum first, but my thoughts were completely wrong. (Translated by Google) Shiroyama Park is a medieval castle ruins that has been turned into a park. The area is roughly divided into the mountain area (Oka no Shiroyama) and a plaza for children. To this day, information about the castle's lord and its builders remains unknown, so while historical observations have been put aside, it is a park full of pure natural flavor. I think this is one of the top walking spots in Asaka City. The parking lot was in a unique location, and I thought it would be impossible to get there by car without a navigation system. The park was larger than I expected, with a long vertical shape and plenty of shade, making it perfect for a walk. There were almost no people there probably because we arrived at 9am. It's a modest park, so it probably won't be crowded during the day. It was great to be able to make use of the park. At 10:00 AM, amid the noisy chirps of cicadas, water began to flow like a waterfall from the pond. A gentle, cool breeze surrounded me. The surrounding trees were lush and reflected in the pond's mirror. The bottom of the small pond had also been thoroughly cleaned, making it visible. The cleaning staff had been keeping it up since early morning, maintaining it like a dry landscape garden. Thank you very much. The hydrangeas in the shade were still blooming beautifully, bringing back memories. Speaking of nostalgia, I remember coming to this park with my young children to splash around in the pond with its waterfall, or to climb the hill to look for stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles. (Translated by Google) Thanks to the kindness of President Susaki of Marunuma Warehouse, I am always able to see paintings and sculptures by famous artists. Today, October 9, 2022, was an exhibition by Andrew Wyeth. It seems that many of the works that the president collects are drawings, watercolors, and other works that show the creation process so that they can be used as reference for the artists he is supporting, and today we will talk about how Wyeth conceived and completed the works. The creation process was displayed in an easy-to-understand manner, including the first rough sketch, and sketches that lined up ideas for how to draw the hand part in the middle of the process. Asaka doesn't really feel like art, but it's a nice place where you can suddenly feel like an artist when you come here. (Translated by Google) We did it for 3 hours from 8:00 on March 13th! The water was clean and the fishing was strong even for smaller fish! (Translated by Google) Went on 5/20. 6-hour ticket from 7:00 to 13:00. The temperature on the day was 32 degrees, which was abnormally high, so no matter what you do, it's pretty tough. We caught a few fish at the top of the morning, a few fish in the release, and advanced anglers were using micro spoons. The fish were dense and the water was clear, so it may be difficult. I overheard a regular customer next to me say that the middle of the pond is good. (I was at the edge without knowing.) The staff must have been worried about the situation, because they released fish twice in the morning, even though it was a weekday. After the release, I managed to catch a few fish in a row. Even though it was the top, it was tough on the surface, and it may have been about 10cm below. It was my first time at this time of year, but if it's 32 degrees and this hard (physically), it seems like it will be tough in the real summer. As a beginner, it might be best for me to hold off until autumn. (Translated by Google) It felt like a managed fishing spot for advanced users 💦 I thought it would be difficult for beginners 💦 The area is clear water and there are a lot of fish, but as you can see, it seems that you will need a very delicate technique. After that, it seems that the area around the middle is advantageous in terms of location. Fish are gathering around the corners, but I don't think they will react enough to catch them. As a beginner, I managed to catch 2 rainbow trout in 3 hours🐟️ Lures other than spoons seem to be difficult. Most of the people around me were using spoons or lurching lures. If you're going to go, it's probably a good idea to bring something with you. I also want a spoon that weighs less than 1g. Also, the staff at the store didn't seem very friendly, which is a shame.
(Translated by Google) It is one of the most accessible areas in the metropolitan area, so that alone is a blessing. It uses abundant spring water? groundwater? with a stable water temperature, and is open all year round, which is rare for flat land. It is also nice that the water is still relatively clear even in summer and you can see the fish. I think there are a lot of fish, but I think it is quite difficult unless you get the hang of it, probably because there is constant pressure even on weekdays or because the water is deep. Most of the fish you can catch are rainbow trout, and occasionally yamame or cherry salmon. The average size is relatively large, about 30cm to 40cm, so it is nice that they pull well. When I occasionally go to an area with a small average size, I feel grateful for Asaka. There is also a small pond for bait fishing, but unlike general bait fishing for trout, it is thrilling. They release fish, but be careful of your fishing spot as the fish tend to gather in good conditions. I recommend that you be careful when using it with children. lol (Original)
(Translated by Google) 2025/10 In 2025, I went fishing twice, in August and October, and caught 4 fish and 8 fish in 3 hours in the morning. I'm not sure if my skill has improved, but perhaps because I now have more lures and more options for finding the right lure, I've managed to catch a few here and there, so I've given it +2 stars. While the nickname "Tokyo University of Pipe Fishing" seems a bit of an exaggeration, it's certainly not an easy spot to fish, but the cathartic feeling when you catch a fish seems greater than at other spots. By the way, on the day I went (a morning with a warm temperature), the fish were quite popular with topwater lures (caddis, decamitz dry) and SR crankbaits (wa-wa, dumpling fish). I'm grateful that they release them on weekdays as well. 2024/08 Even taking into account the time of year (a scorching hot morning) and my skill, it still felt too tough. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners or children. Perhaps the situation will change somewhat once the weather cools down. However, once the weather cools down, other nearby fishing spots will open, and there will no longer be any reason to come here.

(Of course there are big ones too) It's close to the city center and there are a lot of people, so the pressure is high and it's difficult, so it's even been called the Tokyo University of Sedge fishing. However, the rules for fishing spots are relaxed, so you won't be able to catch any fish at all if you don't use any other means. They also release water about three times a day, which is a good thing. If you can't catch any fish, you can escape from bows by carrying Senor Tornado in several colors. If possible, you can catch a lot of fish by reeling slowly in areas where fish are pooling, such as in streams. If you want to attack with a regular spoon or plug wrap, the spoon should be 1g or less. I get the impression that plugs like Chibipanikura and Mocha that can be wound very slowly and still keep the range are good for catching. There are people with bad manners at every fishing spot, but perhaps because this is a managed fishing spot with multiple small ponds, there are many people who just cross the line without any hesitation, so please be careful if you go there.
