We have had a great experience with this company. The staff is very friendly and patient. I recommend wearing the clothing they provide (including shoes), as the winter weather in northern Finland tends to be extreme.
Completed 2 tours with this group. Huskie and Motoski + reindeer. Had a wonderful time on both. Facilities and guides were great and personable. Experiences themselves were awesome. Reindeer ride was a bit different to the huskie ride the day before, but still enjoyable. Highly recommend this group for a safe and enjoyable time. Thanks to our guide Greg!
Today I took part in the bus tour to the snow village, everything went very well, I booked at the office in Äkäslompolo at short notice. Started on time and very friendly, informative support from guide Ali. The snow village is very impressive with the figures made of ice and snow, ice bar, ice disco, etc.
A perfect night with Joan ! Such a nice guide, nice ride, she’s so sweet and interesting ! Beautiful aurora during the teepee time ! Thanks you so much!
from start till the end very good!!!! We did all excursions! Big thanks to Anna, francois en Mitch and Mattias. Although all the others were also great!
What a great experience to visit Yllas and make trips with Lapland Safaris. Their enthousiasm and love for their beautiful country made our excursions great fun to do. We thank staf and guides at Lapland Safris for making our winterbreak a huge succes and an unforgettable memory. PS, nice option for teambuilding trips for companies.
Wow! We had an excellent snowmobile trip with Bartek, our tourguide. We were lucky with the sun on our 3 hour tour. It was just the 2 of us and we both had our own snowmobile, which I can highly recommend. It will cost a little more, but I got the time to get used to riding it so the second half of the trip I could go faster and I was enjoying it even more! We were happy with our guide. He gave good instructions and was fun to have around. Lapland safaris provided us with good gear, so it was all safe and fun to ride.
The trips that they organise are once in a lifetime experiences. We went on a Reindeer tour and a trip to the Snow Village, both were very well organised.

.....where to start?.....about a year ago we was planning the trip to Äkäslompolo ....it all still seems like yesterday. Thanks to the help of Sabrina and Brian "7 Fells Up" and "Due North Safari" everything worked perfectly from the beginning, we managed to do all 7 Fells in 9 days and also spontaneously add a snowmobile ride. Thanks to the exceptional guides, each tour turned out to be an adventure, an experience, they make you feel part of a family, they even make you forget that the weather wasn't perfect, and yes that the only part that can't be planned hehehe . And several months later the memories are still as vivid as if a few days had passed. Again a big thank you to everyone we met and if you are in the area I highly recommend you go to them to explore the Äkäslompolo region.
We did 2 tours with 7fellsup - and disussed some of their other tours. The tours were great - see below, but having professional advice on what would suite us was key to the sucess. We did the lappish dinner tour and the moderate snowshoe toptour to Kauer. Both suited for not that young beginners on snowshoes. The firm also have difficult tours, even 5 day hikes. So something for everyone. I envie the ones that are in shape for those tours, but even though we did beginner tours they were fun and beautifull adventures. Well done 7fellsup. The lappish dinner tour: Snowshoeing through the silence of the old Finnish forest was beautiful, especially with the snow falling. The highlight for me was the short quiet time to our selves at the Sami's ancient sacred rock. That was magical. Then a fun short trip back to the cozy kota, where the guide had lit the fire and warmed up the fine reindeer stew. Nice with lingonberries and pickled cucumbers ;). We were asked to use our headlamps as little as possible throughout the trip, which enhanced the experience of nature. Just one example of many that 7fellsup really focuses on details to give us a amazing experience. The top tour to Kauer: The most beautiful "walk" through the forest guided to see the animal tracks in the snow and being told about the forest and its inhabitants. On the way the guide made sure that we could do as much deepsnow snowshoing as we wanted or if less adventures (me) stay on the beaten track for most of the time. It may be beginners - but I got the excersise of the day :) ...Perfect!! And the thrill at the top. What a view to enjoy, while drinking warm juice and eating the homemade cakes served by the guide...I know - we were lucky having no wind, so we could stay long waching the the sun set, making the tour down a real twillight experience. And when it got too dark to see, the guide had headlamps for all. yet a nice detail. We felt safe, cared for and informed by 7fellsup's guide ... getting the best out of the magnificant nature at Äkaslompolo.
We did the trip to Kuer with our guide Anette. It was a wonderful experience, the silence of the forest and the beautiful views. Anette also had a lot to tell us about the forest, Finnish nature and which animals leave which tracks in the snow. The homemade cakes were also very tasty.
We enjoyed 3 snowshoe hikes with this company and all 3 of them were awesome! The guides are really knowledgeable and Sabrina is really helpful and generous. Thank you so much! We would definitely book again with you!
We went on a half day snowshoe hike with Anette. The gear is good, the views were great and Anette was very knowledgeable and over all a good guide!
Just returned from the 5 day snowshoe hut to hut trekking and fell in love with the white, peaceful Arctic landscape! An unforgettable trip with a great group of people and our guides who took into account individual needs and made sure that everyone felt comfortable, safe and supported throughout. Food was bountiful and delicious and included many local delicacies! The accommodation in the huts very cosy with a fireplace and the highlight a sauna in the wilderness cooling down with snow angels! Last but not least...communication with Sabrina was excellent as she helped me organise my stay before and after the trip, as I stayed longer due to my flight schedule. All in all an amazing experience with great value for money!
We were recommended by a local guide to contact 7 Fells Up for off-trail snowshoeing tours, and it was a great tip that we happily pass on to others. We did two snowshoeing tours with them in mid March after speaking with their wonderful organizer, Sabrina. The first adventure was an evening tour to see the northern lights from a higher elevation. As the snow kept falling we were never able to see any northern lights, but it was a great opportunity to try off-trail snowshoeing in very fresh snow with our friendly guide, Adrien, who also brought along blueberry juice, Sabrina’s famous homemade cloudberry cakes, and sausages to grill over the fire in one of the area’s many “kotas”. Our second snowshoeing tour was a half-day event up one of the “fells”. Our very spirited and knowledgable Finnish guide Päivi led the way as we snowshoed off-trail upwards through the forest to a kota just below the tree line where we took a break for grilled reindeer sandwiches and more of Sabrina’s cloudberry cakes. They are to die for by the way. After that we continued up over a moonlike landscape to the top of the fell through untouched snow, beautiful sunshine and stunning panoramic views of Lapland. At the top we had a 360° view and could spot all of the other nearby fells. We then descended the mountain taking a different route while Päivi gladly told us more about the wilderness and the wildlife we were seeing, including a soaring Sea Eagle, an evasive, hard-to-spot Willow grouse and a Northern Woodpecker just meters away from us but too busy pecking for insects to pay us any attention. She also explained to us the concept of Kello trees. Both snowshoeing tours were true highlights of our trip to Ylläs, and we too highly recommend 7 Fells UP. Thank you Sabrina for everything. Vielen Dank für alles. Tusind tak!
We had a couple amazing tours with Seven Fells Up. Sabrina and her crew are nice, the groups are small and you are well taken care of. Definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely amazing snowmobile trip. Us and the two kids couldn’t have loved it more. The scenery was stunning, our guide Anti was brilliant. So calm, friendly and full of great facts & information. Next time we’ll go out for longer!
Simply brilliant. Easy to Book, super friendly and all round amazing experience. We booked a last minute Ice fishing safari and the team couldn’t have been better. Our guides were so knowledgeable and informative not only on fishing but Finnish culture too. Thank you from The Byrne Family
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a snowmobile safari with Snow Fun Safari in Äkäslompolo, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Our guides, Anttí and Sami, were exceptional, making sure every moment was enjoyable and unforgettable. Midway through the tour, we paused to indulge in a traditional Finnish meal they expertly prepared. The dish featured reindeer, mashed potatoes, and cranberries accompanied by pickles, a delightful treat that was both authentic and delicious. They kindly accommodated dietary needs, ensuring gluten and lactose-free options were available. For dessert, we savored a scrumptious blueberry cake. The tour included warm clothes, which were crucial for the chilly adventure, and added great value to the experience. The following day, we joined them for an ice fishing tour. Although no food was provided on this tour, they supplied snowshoes and warm attire, keeping us comfortable throughout the day. Anttí and Sami's dedication to ensuring everyone had a fantastic time was evident in their constant care and attention. They truly enhance the Snow Fun Safari experience, making it a must for anyone visiting the area. I look forward to returning next year for another memorable adventure!
Could not recommend the snowmobiling tour more. We had the best time going through the forest, watching the sunrise/sunset and our guide was lovely and very encouraging. Another big highlight was the halfway stop where we learnt some fun facts about Finland and enjoyed some sweets, coffee and hot berry juice provided by our guide. Definitely book this if you’re in Ylläs!!!
We rented 5 snowmobiles for our group of 10 and had an amazing day. The people at Snow Fun Safaris are very kind and relaxed. Highly recommended!
I can 100% recommend the snowmobile tours. We did one last year and booked another one today, this time a longer one. We were lucky enough to be on our own with our guide Jussi. He adapted the route and speed perfectly to our skills and needs and also included a few small detours. It was fast and challenging but never overwhelming. I had an incredible amount of fun. The views and nature were breathtakingly beautiful.
We did the Yllas 718 snow mobile safari with Snow Fun Safaris. Very good organized and beautiful tour. The tour took about 3 hours, and we stopped for a hot beverage in the middle. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because the maximum speed was around 40 - 50 km/h. And this for the last quarter of the tour, at the beginning the speed was capped at 30 - 40 km/h. On the website was mentioned that the Yllas 718 tour was for people with a taste for speed. It could be possible that this was due to other drivers scared to go faster or, this is the standard speed limit. Overall very nice experience. Would recommend.
This was a great tour. Marcel was fantastic and the scenery was spectacular. There were 2 families in our group, 6 kids (4-9) and 7 adults. All were entertained even though no fish were caught.

Free parking and visitor centre with limited free info on local trails and routes. Maps are paid for (€10) but most shorter trails are well marked and signposted so not really necessary unless you’re doing a longer route. In winter there are snow shoe routes from here, but most were packed down enough to be fine in normal walking boots.
Great exhibition- you can spend 15min or 2h here - exciting also for kids (for a bit)
They used to have a cafe there which was nice for my in-laws while we went for a hike. Without, the complete experience is just not there. But I recommend going for the museum aspects too. Just be prepared to go away from there afterwards to get something to eat.
Café had fresh raspberry donuts with a unique raspberry filling, and the coffee was amazing! Other food and pastry options were available along with a lunch menu. The main visitors center is connected with a souvenir shop, telescope lookout on to the Lapland hills and tundra. Plenty of history, nature and local activities. Mountain bike rental is also located on site.
Great visotor center. Hope that the restaurant will re-open soon.
Interesting things over lapland ,nice vieuw But you can not buy coffey Cafe is closed
Probably the best nature center in Lapland. Great service, free museum, free exhibition. Local souvenir shop with nice products. If you are looking for advice for your trekking/biking or any trip, the friendly personnel will help you. If you are in the area, go have a look! It won't cost you anything, but you'll probably learn something new.
Large, well-stocked information center. Lots of maps and good advice from the staff. There is a spectacular museum exhibit on the bottom floor which is worth an hour of your time, at minimum. We took a ~2 hour round trip hike from here to a small Kota with a fireplace. For an even better experience, bring some sausages to grill.

We had an excellent XC-Ski lesson with Nora after which we already where able to ski several Kilometers! We also rented ski and snow shoes and got recommendations for trips and nice Cafés on the way. Very friendly and helpfull team. Thank you very much :)
Excellent shop, easy going and welcoming staff. I am returning to this lovely place every year. They have perfect camping gear and excellent thermo flasks at great cost. Also, they have excellent cross-country skiing equipment. I am highly recommending them, good price, always happy to help. Thank you so much 💓
We visited Äkäslompolo as a group of 15 skiers and had a fantastic experience with Sisu Outdoors. They provided excellent service, including ski rentals and a memorable fat tire bike night tour. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, making sure everything ran smoothly. They truly enhanced our trip and made it a joy from start to finish. A big thank you to Timo and the team at Sisu Outdoors for all their help and hospitality!
This year once again, the service was nothing short of exceptional! A heartfelt thank you to Timo and Antti for your incredible patience during our lesson—we truly felt like we made significant progress thanks to your guidance.
Rented an e-fatbike for 4 hours. The bike was in excellent condition. Got some good tips for route planning. Highly recommended!
Helpful advice and nice equipment lead us to anywhere we want to visit 🫶 will like to try the lessons next time! It's a bit scary to find a way at night
Great experience with an instructor for an xc skiing lesson. Very nice and welcoming. We have learned basics and after we could keep the equipment for a solo ride. It really worse it and we are so glad ! Thank you to the team !
Loved the xc ski lesson from Esa, so much fun and we learned a lot! 🤍

Had a great visit! Saw reindeers, huskies and horses. Learn about their role in the arctic circle, and had a go at guiding reindeer about. Great scenery around too! The people who work here are nice and also knowledgeable. Dress warm and you’ll have a lovely time!
Great place for kids all types of animals plus reptiles fish an birds indoors. Good cheap food an drinks spend a good day here some of the animals were inside when we visited as it was a really cold day nevertheless it was an enjoyable walk to get there an back easy with young kids an sledges or if you lazy you can drive
Lovely visit to the ranch. We got to pet and learn more about horses, huskies and reindeer. Very friendly staff and unbelievably cute animals!
I did a farm visit to see the horses, huskies and reindeer. It was excellent! The guide was amazing and very informative, swapping between english and finnish as he needed. We got to go in the pens with the huskies who were very happy to see us. A great way to meet all the animals if you’re short on time!
We had a great time visiting Konijankka and riding on the Husky run. The price was reasonable and view was breathtakingly beautiful. The animals there are taken good care of. The owner even help us to take some videos during the ride. Very happy with the experience.
We came here December 2017. This is a wonderful place for grownups and kids alike! They have a very affordable price for Husky sled ride, especially compared to Rovaneimi, Finland. They have a nice little restaurant with good local food and drinks. We enjoyed seeing the large outdoor animals and they also have a really nice indoor animal area with a big variety of different kinds of animals from all parts of the world. My son loved the big sledding hill with free sleds and we had fun chatting with people from all over the world.
Great experience! Went to a tour to see the huskys, horses and reindeers with my fiancé and our 2 year old daughter. Very child friendly place, and got our moneys worth just by seeing the huge smile on our daughter's face. 10/10 would recommend!
Unexpected find in the middle of nowhere. They have some local and some international animals to look at and offer sleigh rides and horse rides. They could make the sleigh ride a bit more Christmas-like in the weeks before Christmas as the kids come are coming to Finland for Santa.

Rented a couple of e-bikes from this place for a few hours in the snow. Very friendly, professional service. Highly recommended.
Excellent shop with the possibility to buy a lot of warm winter clothing and other essentials. I rented 2 fat bikes there, and everyone was incredibly satisfied. We didn't have any problem with returning it and the staff was very nice, kind and polite. I am highly recommending this fabulous place. Even though we didn't have online reservation and they were fully booked but still were trying to help us, and they lent us their last bikes. Honestly, thank you ! Äkäslompolo is beautiful at night, I've been riding also at 3 am safely alone, including walking 😂😂😂
Well stocked sports shop, with simply amazing, friendly and professional staff.
Good quality stuff and even better service for renting bikes etc.
Friendly team, good advices, very good equipment. Loved this shop ! Thank you
Excellent service and variety of sporting goods. Loads of top brands and great x ski and bike rental. Also some other sports activity rentals here. Nice staff
Good selection of mountain bikes and fat bikes for rent in addition to a large selection of outdoor clothing and gear. Rented two Trek Rail eMTBs, both were in excellent shape and well maintained. Friendly and flexible service: I forgot my GPS tracker mount home and these guys sold one of their spares from the rental side.
Great store to buy sportswear or rent equipment. We rented snowshoes (which had high quality and worked fine) there for 24 hours. Price is fine, service excellent, they even recommend routes and you can buy maps there for hiking.

Let me first say I am not a huge fan of tourists packages and I always look for the experiences that are off the beaten path (not a cattle herding). Due North has put together some of the most amazing peronalized experiences with some of the best guides around. We went to the reindeer farm, took a snowmobile tour of Yllas, went on a snowshoe trek through the forest, and drove a husky team through the countryside. Every experience was magical and unforgettable. Due North supplied us with everything we could possibly need including some Fjallraven gear that kept us dry and warm through every excursion. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.
My girlfriend and I rented a snowmobile and had a time of our lives. We reserved and paid for a 2 hour session, but the company was generous and gave us an additional hour free as it was my girlfriend’s birthday. The staff was very knowledgeable and suggested a 40km route for us, which included going up and down the ski resort. As we were busy taking photos of the breath-taking scenery, we lost track of time and were back half an hour past the 3 hour time limit. We expected the staff to be upset and ask for extra payment since we were late, but to our surprise we were greeted with a wide smile and the staff was just happy that we had a great time out. We were not required to pay any additional charges apart from the fuel which amounted to €16. For a 3.5 hour session costing only €116, this is undoubtedly the most value-for-money snowmobile experience one can get. Thank you, Due North Safaris for your hospitality and generosity.
Thank you eric for the Nice 360 tour we did with family. 45km and almost 4h. Good expérience with up and down sensation.it was first time for my wife and the guide was good to help her get confidence before the last hill that we did with lot of wind ! Great experience Private tour that was worthing the trip from levi :) better than the oversize group we saw on levi lake.....
Great tour with Cecilia, we did the Akas 360 tour and had loads of fun. This tour wasn´t as massive booked as with other operators in the area and therefore it felt way more intense.. not stopping every 5 minutes because someone falls behind. Very good Fjallraven wear. Worth every penny!!!
wooww!! is the best word to describe what we have experienced with this company. Everything is the top, from snowmobile to the clothing, the choice of the track and last but not least the guides. All the one we have meet were very professional and friendly and funny during the tour.
We have rented a snowmobile. The guys at Due North Safari have recommended us a route up the Yllästunturi for 2 - 3 hrs and gave us warm and cool-looking clothes. Overall a great experience. It was perfect!
Beautiful and spectacular landscape up a fell. Did the scenic cruise with a snowmobile. Kerpo was a perfect and very knowledgeable guide. They have first rate equipment (Fjällräven and Sorrel), which makes it even more enjoyable, because you stay warm no matter what
We had the perfect day in the beautyful finnish outdoors. Our guides made sure that we had a magnificient experience. Again, thank you so much! Can highly recommend this company.

Wonderful trip through real lappish nature together with our guide Marko!
Today we got to enjoy Marko's passion for cycling and nature! How great can it be that you can join Marko for part of a day to get to know a piece of nature where hardly anyone comes and you get so much explanation about the animals, nature and cycling. I would definitely recommend Marko to you, if only for the delicious refreshments during the stop 😉👍. Thank you Marko for this amazing experience.
Fantastic experience. We were renting snowshoes and were coming back several times during our week here. Tytti was also very helpful selecting the trails considering the weather conditions. Highly recommended!
We made a bike trip back in February. This is a professional and friendly bike rental held by a lovely couple. The location of the place is just perfect for making a round trip, and the trail starts just in front of it. We rented 5 electric fat bikes; a helmet and a lock were included in the price. We made a reservation the day before, and the bikes were ready the next day. Tytti was helpful; she helped us choose the best day for a trip - weather conditions were changing a lot, the sizes of the bikes, and the paths where to go. They introduced us to how to use an e-bike, and we felt really safe on the trip. This is a family business, and you can really feel it. I highly recommend choosing this place.
We had a great E-fatbike tour through snowy winter forest. Everything was well organised by Marko, who was really nice. We had an excellent and fun time. Definitely recommended!
We randomly spotted the rental bikes when passing by and decided to go for a quick ride on the local trails. Bikes are in excellent condition and prices are very fair (a good helmet is included in the rent as well). The staff are super friendly and helpful! Hope to return for a longer ride some time.
It’s been a fantastic experience from start to finish. Marko and Tytti provide excellent service and gear (the bikes are next level!) and share their knowledge of the area. We’d do the tour again any day and definitely recommend it. It’s our first time in Lapland and the tour made our day and stay! Thank you so much Marko and Tytti!
I rented an e-Fatbike and received a great service! The bike was in good condition, a helmet and a lock was included in the price so that I paid only some euros more than in other bike rentals. But here I got the biggest bike (I'm 199cm) what didn't work in others stores last year even though they saw me the day before. Also I got good tips for my planned trip and everything explained without any hurries. Here the customer is welcome and served perfectly! Will definitely rent here again! The location is not directly in the Äkäslompolo "city centre" but easily reachable by car (with a big free parking area without time limit!) and you can start directly on trails to Äkäslompolo and Ylläsjärvi!
