When we reached Gorakhpur for our UP Police exam, one of the most memorable experiences we had was visiting the Gorakhnath Mandir. Located in the heart of the city, this grand temple is not just a place of worship, but a spiritual and cultural landmark that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor. As soon as we entered the temple premises, we were welcomed by a peaceful and divine atmosphere. The temple is dedicated to Guru Gorakhnath, a revered saint and spiritual leader, and it stands as a symbol of devotion, discipline, and tradition. The architecture is stunning, with beautifully carved pillars, a clean and spacious courtyard, and the main sanctum that radiates positive energy. The sound of bhajans and chants added to the spiritual charm of the place. What touched us the most was the discipline and cleanliness maintained throughout the temple complex. Devotees from all parts of India visit this temple to seek blessings, and yet, the atmosphere remains calm and well-managed. We also saw people feeding cows in the gaushala and participating in community services, which reflected the temple's role in promoting social values. Our visit to Gorakhnath Mandir was not just a religious stop, but a moment of peace and reflection before our exam. It gave us a sense of calmness and motivation. We felt truly blessed to be there, and we would recommend everyone visiting Gorakhpur to take some time and experience the spiritual strength of this sacred place.
My visit to the Gorakhnath Temple was truly a highlight of my trip to Gorakhpur. I went on a weekday morning to avoid the crowds, and the peaceful atmosphere was exactly what I was hoping for. The temple complex is expansive and immaculately maintained. The grounds are very clean, and there are clear signs, making it easy to navigate. The main temple, dedicated to Guru Gorakhnath, is impressive with its beautiful architecture. Inside, the spiritual energy is palpable. I also appreciated the smaller shrines dedicated to other deities, which are scattered throughout the complex. The large pond and well-kept garden areas provide a perfect place for quiet reflection. One of the most charming aspects was the Goshala (cowshed), which is very well-maintained and shows the temple's dedication to serving and protecting cows. The arrangements for depositing and collecting footwear were smooth and efficient, which is a big plus. For future visitors, I would highly recommend an early morning visit to enjoy the tranquility. While some reviews mention being approached by pandits for money, I didn't experience this and found the staff to be respectful. Overall, this is a must-visit place for anyone seeking a blend of spirituality, history, and serene beauty. It's a truly well-managed and significant pilgrimage site.
I visited Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur yesterday. It is a peaceful and beautiful place with a calm atmosphere. The temple is clean and well-maintained. This temple is good to explore in the evening time not in Afternoon cause the floors are heated up and unable to walk on it .... Free food (langar) is distributed everyday.. I liked the big statue and the spiritual feel. It was a nice and refreshing experience. A must-visit place in Gorakhpur.
Gorakhnath Math, also known as Gorakhnath Temple or Shri Gorakhnath Mandir, is a Hindu temple of the Nath monastic order group of the Nath tradition. The name Gorakhnath derives from the medieval saint, Gorakshanath (c. 11th century CE), a yogi who travelled widely across India and authored a number of texts that form a part of the canon of Nath Sampradaya.Shri Gorakhnath Mandir's facade stands as a beacon of spiritual enlightenment. The temple's facade reflects Gorakhpur's rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Gorakhnath Mandir is a spiritually powerful and peaceful place. The atmosphere is calm and filled with positive vibes. The temple is very well maintained – clean premises, organized management, and a spacious campus. Apart from the main temple, the gaushala and sacred pond add to its charm. Sitting here brings a deep sense of inner peace. A must-visit spot in Gorakhpur for both devotees and tourists!
I really feel blessed to visit and witness the divine power of Shri Gorakhnath temple at Gorakhpur. I visited here with my friends during the evening time, and the view was so mesmerizing that noone could resist seeing and falling in faith. There's no need to buy a ticket to enter the temple. Tha temple is clean and beautifully managed.
Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur is a peaceful and spiritual place that fills you with positive energy the moment you enter. The surroundings are clean, well-maintained, and calm. The temple itself is beautiful, with detailed walls and peaceful vibes. Inside, there are many different gods, and each one feels special in its own way. One of the best things is that the temple is very well-organized. There’s proper security at the entrance, but it’s just a simple check—nothing that takes much time. You don’t have to wait in long lines to go inside, which is a big plus. Behind the temple, there’s a small pond where ducks swim around. It’s a lovely spot to sit quietly and enjoy the peaceful environment. The cool breeze and soft sound of bells make you feel relaxed and connected to something higher. Near the temple, you’ll find many small shops selling sweets and prasad. There are plenty of options, and the shopkeepers are polite and helpful. If you love sweets or want to carry some prasad for your family, it’s the perfect place. Also, there’s a strong sense of safety here. Security guards are present everywhere, and the overall atmosphere is very family-friendly. If you are ever in Gorakhpur, I would strongly recommend visiting Gorakhnath Temple. It’s not just a religious place, it’s a complete experience of peace, devotion, and beauty. Don’t leave the city without spending some time here. It truly touches your heart.
Really All Credit Goes To CM Yogi Aadityanath Gorakhnath Mandir is a spiritually powerful and peaceful place. The atmosphere is calm and filled with positive vibes. Amazing Memorable Awesome Experience. Must Visit To Have It 😊

And other treatments on hair has also increased. But the hairstylist was friendly and staff too. So yeah. All in all 4 out 5. Just cutting off a point for the pricey haircut. But theyalso told me about prices beforehand

Vintage locomotives & displays on the history of regional railways, plus mini-train rides for kids.
Slide 1 of 8
Visited on 21 March 2025. For gorakhpur standards , good place for kids. A huge park, with a toy train for kids to ride on. Its fun and kids love it. There is huge space and garden, with slides and rides. There is a museum inside for those would be interested in history, i liked it. There is a restuarant inside it, with variety of food to chose from like momos, dosa, Ice cream, Pao Bhaji , cold drinks. Entry tickets - 20 rupees per person, 10 rupees per kid for train ride. Mosquitoes could be a menace after dark, be cautious.
There were some toy shops outside the museum. The entry ticket for the museum was 20 rupees, and since there wasn’t much crowd, I got it immediately. Inside, there was a lot of greenery with many trees, and the names of the trees were also written. There was a rail tour happening as well, and the canteen was set up inside train coaches. There was also an old train engine and many other things. The museum had a lot of information and items related to railways. The food and drink facilities inside were very good, and the toilets were also fine. Opening Hours General Timings (Apr–Sep): Tuesday to Sunday, 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM (ticket booking until 8:30 PM); closed on Mondays . Winter Timings (Oct–Mar): Tuesday to Sunday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM; closed on Mondays . Some sources also list a slightly earlier opening (e.g., 11:00 AM as per TripNight), but official seasonal timing updates are more reliable . Entry Fees Museum Entry: ₹20 for adults (above 5 years) . Toy Train Ride: ₹10 per person (often for children up to around 12 years or 2.5+ years, depending on policy) . Parking: Bike — ₹10; Car — ₹30 (per some travel guides) . Visitor Experience & Reviews Highly Rated: Enjoys positive ratings (~4.1 out of 5), especially among families and children . Highlights: Unique blend of education and recreation, with historical exhibits and a toy train ride. The themed canteen inside a coach adds a retro charm and enhances the dining experience. As one reviewer puts it, the mini train ride with classic tunes “makes you feel like a time traveler.” Playful park setting, classical music, and thoughtful lighting create a nostalgic yet vibrant atmosphere . Considerations: Limited parking onsite—visitors may need to find alternatives elsewhere . Some visitors observe that the place feels more like a mini theme park than a conventional museum due to its limited indoor exhibits but strong recreational appeal .
Best place to visit for family and especially children timing is 2 to 9 Approximately 30/- per adult person 20 bucks for entry 10 bucks for rail toy train ride l. With this you can access rail museum and resturants is also available for quick refreshment great taste but adherence to 9 pm exit is very strict. Highly recommendable for children below 12 years of age and rail enthusiast. Closed on monday.

Superb place for all type of people who want to spend vocation here. Here two type of charge one monday to saturday fees is 650 per person and on sunday you have to pay 750 per person this is only entry fees. When you enter you have to pay 50 rs for locker and rs 100 for your cloth vest and shot. And extra if you buy sampoo or shop or towel and they submit 100 rs extra when you return then they give your 100 rs. I suggest you take all thing like shop, sampoo, towel, waterproof case for mobile and waterproof case no available there. And they give you one coupon in which they provide free food service like 1. Coke + burger, 2. Coke + chola chawal, 3. Chowin +coke, 4. Coke +chola batoura and they don't want to give you in free. I stand for 30 for chola baturaa . And all services are good. There were bouncer for your help and guys. Water park little bit expensive. If you dont bring things from home like water, towel, shop, sampoo your swimming cloth like vest and shot of you bring this thinks you may be save your 250 to 300 rs and you have to only pay for your locker. There will be also a shop store there they charge 10 rs and they give you medium size pocket in which you put 5 to 6 people shoes in easily way. Guys if you bring your dslr they charge extra for your dslr. Best place to spend 3 to 4 hours easily . I think you visit one time.
It is the one and only water park of the city. It doesn't have facilities like water parks of Lucknow & kanpur but still there is a lot of things for your enjoyment. It also have restaurant. So, i suggest you to visit here with your friends and enjoy.....
Numerous slides, pools, showers & other water elements draw families to this largest amusement park in Gorakhpur Uttar Pradesh India. Very fantastic park. Thanks
The place is quite descent. There aren't many water rides or lots of different things but it atillnis veru enjoyable. There are wave pools that get waves likes thrice a day. There are different pools for different age/ height categories, a water shower dance room, lasy river etc. The washroom/showeroom is not really well maintained. The snacks stall is veru limited and very expensive. You may feel that they charge too much for a full day entry and its true since there anrent many options.
Good place for marriage function but lacks in amenities. Too many mosquitoes and gets chilly due to Ramgarh lake near it. Fresh air guaranteed.
They are making fool to the public in the name of water park. If you are going first time then you may consider it satisfactory. Else if you have seen other water park the it is only disappointment. The charges are hefty comparing to amenities provided. In day it is 900/ per person while in evening 5 to 8 pm it is 600/ on sat and Sunday. Other day it is 450/ in evening 5 pm they stop almost all big rides, only small rides are kept open. Useless to go if you consider it as waterpark. The image below is all the rides available.
This newly added attraction of Gorakhpur city provides water sports & amusement facilities to the residents of Gorakhpur region. The water park has got rides for every age group & to suit every one’s taste, viz., family rides, adult rides & children rides. Good park in Gorakhpur for morning jogging, walking etc. I had been to this park many times. A well maintained park with wide area of land and beautiful palm trees and flowers. It's an amazing park to visit with family and friends. Must visit!
I go in this Park every morning for Running, For the few first days i was puzzled as the paths are interconnected but later i realised that its map is quite simple, it has a long walking path of around 800 metres around the circumference, and various mini parks in the the centre. The Park has three Entrance and on the main entrance you'll find some tea stalls, Organic Juice Stall, Even Fast food and Icecream stalls too but only in the evening. There's also a Public toilet if you are in an emergency. 🌚 There are two Grounds with various swings and open gym for children and adults respectively. There are a lot of Flowering plants and Coconut Trees (Actually i don't exactly know whether they are coconut or Dates tree 🙂) Still they look so mesmerizing like we're in a beach with no sea🥲😂. To be honest after running i also enjoy swings in that ground (PS- I'm 21😋) Anyways i hope i develop a good stamina for running in this park. The only thing i hate about this park are the jobless couples who are always present in the corners, behind the trees, under the benches😶 At that moment I wish i was a member of Bajrang Dal.🚩 Anyways it's a 3.5/5 for me 🌟
Best walking track wishing grand garden. Plenty of avenues for children play , yoga and gym. Morning view of the garden is heart warming and clean air quality to revive the lungs.

The park's ambiance, coupled with the option to partake in boating, contributes to its allure as a versatile recreational spot. Beyond its facilities, Nehru Park's serene environment makes it a popular choice for those seeking solace or a break from the city's hustle. Its tranquil atmosphere and natural beauty create an ideal setting for relaxation, social gatherings, or unwinding after a hectic day. Overall, Nehru Park in Gorakhpur stands as a harmonious blend of nature's beauty and diverse amenities, making it a cherished destination for locals and visitors alike.
Nehru park is the biggest park in gorakhpur. It had a big playground, 0.7km long walking track and greenery. In this park a memorial of freedom fighter pandit ramprasad bismil. In this park a mini open Jim .
Excellent place for daily walk, security guard at main gate with adequate parking space. Refreshments tea stalls nearby the park entry gate. Park has kids play area, excercise zone and jogging track. Fountains are not operational from quite sometime though and park needs some maintenance work, probably it would be taken care of post pandemic.
It's under construction, we had to make request to the guards to open it as it's only open till 11 on Sunday..ponds were dry, no equipment for children to play, no proper shaded place to sit and chat, reaching there was a mammoth task, it took 1 hr to reach there from betiahata as we got stuck in sahebganj.. I will not recommend this park to anyone who have less time to visit any park. Might be a good option for the local people.
Peaceful and greenery environment ,only problem is with the management for canteen and cleanliness of park they provide no decent canteen there and no washroom
If only i could give it a negative star.!! Worst place to be visited, even by mistake.. there is absolutely no maintenance whatsoever.. checkout the pics. I wonder who even approved the tiling of such huge space in the first place. Absolute nonsense..👎
Good place for everyone but it's best for people those who particularly belonging, the only peaceful place in that area
The most beautiful park in Gorakhpur, but just need public awareness to keep the park clean. The authorities and people should come up with new innovative ideas to keep this beautiful park clean.

Down-to-earth Hindu temple featuring a veranda & a black-stone statue of Lord Vishnu.
Slide 1 of 8
The Lord Vishnu temple in Gorakhpur is a historic and religiously significant site. The temple is located just two kilometers from Gorakhpur Railway Station and holds importance throughout the eastern region. The Lord Vishnu idol installed in the temple is made of black stone and dates back to the Pala Empire (8th century). The idol was first discovered in 1914 by a local mason named Gorakh. The specialty of this idol is that it is a Chaturbhuj idol, a rare and significant representation of Lord Vishnu. The historic and religious significance of this idol is widespread in Gorakhpur and the eastern region. This temple and idol are an essential part of Gorakhpur's rich cultural and historical heritage and serve as a significant attraction for tourists and devotees. The story of the Lord Vishnu idol is quite fascinating. One day, a mason decided to take a stone home. When he turned the stone over, he discovered the idol of Lord Vishnu. The mason informed the then Honorary Magistrate and Zamindar, Rai Bahadur Abhinandan Prasad, who had the idol brought to his residence, Nandan Bhavan. However, the idol did not stay there for long. When the then British Collector, Sillett, came to know about it, he had the idol removed from Nandan Bhavan and kept in the district's Malakhana (treasury). Later, it was sent to the Lucknow Museum. Today, the idol is still housed in the Lucknow Museum and is an important pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Vishnu. Here is the translation: Every year, the Vishnu Mahayagya is organized here, in which the people of the city participate enthusiastically. This event is held in the premises of the Vishnu temple, which is taken care of by the Shri Vishnu Bhagwan Committee. According to Rishabh Jain, secretary of the Shri Vishnu Bhagwan Committee, this event is held every year in the premises of the Vishnu temple, in which people from the city as well as from surrounding areas participate. In this event, along with the Vishnu Mahayagya, a grand Ramleela is also organized, which has been a tradition since 1972.
A peaceful little gem in Gorakhpur, quietly beautiful temple with a striking ancient idol and a calming atmosphere. The temple has an interesting local legend, the idol was discovered by a mason who found what he thought was a stone and later realized it was a divine figure. The architecture and the chaturbhuj form of Vishnu feel historic, and visitors often comment on the peaceful vibe. Open in the mornings and evenings (check local timings before you go). A short, meaningful stop if you’re in Gorakhpur, great for darshan, photos, and a little local history.
It is an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu painted in white colour and located near Asuran chowk, just in the side of Medical road. The architecture of the temple is square-shaped with strong thick pillars at the four corners and each corner/side has small sanctums dedicated to the deities Jaganathpuri, Badrinath, Rameshwaram and Dwarika. The main attraction of the temple is black stone statue of Lord Vishnu. It remains open all days of the week from 6 am-12 noon and then from 3 pm to 8pm. The surrounding has good greenery but without maintenance. There is rectangular Parikrama-path around this temple. Also there is open discourse theatre in left. On right side are many Vedis where Yagna are performed. Temple is decorated mainly at Dussehara time/ Janmashtmi. It is under restoration phase and there is no proper maintenance. It can be developed as a good holy sacred place. See pics for more clarity.. There is a hotel named Yaduvanshi sweets in the road 30 m away from where sweets and chaats etc can be taken from the outside.
Vishnu Mandir on Medical College Road is a serene and spiritually uplifting destination in Gorakhpur. The temple offers a peaceful escape, with its well-maintained premises and a calming atmosphere that invites devotees and visitors alike. The architecture is simple yet elegant, providing a sense of traditional sanctity. Inside, the deity of Lord Vishnu is beautifully adorned, creating a captivating focal point for prayers and meditation. Whether you seek quiet reflection or a moment of devotion, this temple provides a tranquil setting, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the spiritual heart of Gorakhpur.

This temple is the oldest temple of Lord Vishnu at Gorakhpur . Constructed in the 12th century of Pal dynasty period ,it is a heritage monument of India. The building is located in the Asuran Chauk area of Gorakhpur.about 2 Kms from the Railway station.White in color ,sitting at a height with many swirling pinnacles at the top. Main sanctum is of Lord Vishnu with beautiful black color idol. There four other small sanctum devoted to Char-Dham at each four corners.they are of Badrinath, Dwarika ,Ramehswaram and of Jagannath Puri. Overall a serene and religious atmosphere is here. Thursdays is the main day of prayer and relatively crowded. Satish Tripathi Gorakhpur.

A historic temple in the city of Gorakhpur. Though it goes by the name 'Vishnu Mandir' it has small temples of other Hindu deities especially Bhagwan Shiv.

I was in town for a few days, and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph was the first place I visited for some peace. The moment I walked in, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. The stunning stained glass windows and intricate details in the architecture were mesmerizing. It’s a quiet, spiritual sanctuary in the middle of the city, perfect for reflection and admiring the beauty of historic craftsmanship. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or simply a beautiful space to take in, this basilica is a must-visit.
Beautiful wedding Jacques and Ada Chua!! Absolutely breathtaking! What an amazing place to see two become unity with christ in holy matrimony! God is so amazing! Thank you lord for your blessings, your Grace is new everyday! Thank you father God!
My now husband and I recently got married at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph and I cannot give enough praise to our music coordinator Oswaldo and his wife for making our day just feel so magical. The music during the ceremony was everything we had hoped for, thanks to his communication and collaboration. Along with my praises for him and his wife, I also wanted to thank the wedding coordinator Mary for all of her help and for Msgr. Fr. Francisco for coming back to preside over the nuptial mass. His words of encouragement during the mass touched us, and Mary’s guidance was a comfort. One thing I will comment on was that there were some times the mic on Msgr. Fr. Francisco would be hard to hear due to the echo/ reverb, so the sound system may need work. Overall, I adore this cathedral and our wedding was everything we hoped for thanks to them all ♡
Beautiful interior. Small and cozy with warm and welcoming atmosphere. Mass was great. There is no unpaid parking.
This church is so beautiful and most days open to just sit and enjoy the peacefulness of it all. I've been visiting since I was a little girl before the renovations. Gorgeous church and great gift shop. Usually parking in front limited time. My sister just bought and sent me a rosary for my birthday it's beautiful.
The Cathedral of San Jose offers daily Mass at 12:00 pm. Sundays Masses offered in Spanish, and English.
Beautiful, up lifting, romantic and blessed please go and pray there
Absolutely beautiful. It was breathtaking to walk in . It was my first time there and i don’t know if it was because it was the Sunday of Mother’s Day, but the choir was a Mariachi. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

This temple is about 15 kms from gorakhpur. I visited this place over the weekends and it really has beautiful, natural and positive vibes. There are lot of greenery around and one can meditate for a while sitting right in the temple. It has beautiful pond inside the premises, a big Nandi statue facing towards Shivling near to the pond.
Nestled in Bhauwapar, approximately 15 km south of Gorakhpur city, the revered Shree Baba Munjeshwar Nath Temple stands as a testament to local faith and miraculous origins. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, legend narrates the Shivalinga's divine appearance when a laborer's plough struck a stone, causing milk to flow forth. Adding to its mystique, despite numerous attempts by rulers, including Raja Munj after whom the temple is named, a roof has never been successfully constructed over the open-air sanctum. Reaching the temple takes around 30-40 minutes via local taxi or auto-rickshaw from Gorakhpur. The temple offers a uniquely rustic ambiance, with the primary Shivalinga open to the sky. Devotees gather in large numbers, particularly on Mondays and Saturdays, as well as during the auspicious month of Shravan and the festival of Mahashivratri, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and ancient sanctity. While smaller shrines dedicated to other deities have roofs, the main deity's continued exposure underscores local beliefs and the temple's distinctive history. This open-air sanctum serves as a powerful symbol of the temple's unique narrative and enduring spiritual significance in the region. You must visit to witness divine power of lord Shiva. Very peaceful place.
Good place for visit. Just near to bhaghagara four lane bypass.

Full car parking space is here. There are some places within the temple compound where small picnic types things can be done.
