It is said that the tree under which Mangal Pandey and his companions planned the revolt of 1857... Was in this temple's premise. But even if you ignore the historical significance of it, the temple in itself is a brilliant piece of architecture, covered in marble stone. Such a luxury it was to visit the temple.
Shri Baba Augharnath Shiv Mandir, also known as the Augharnath Temple, is a deeply spiritual and historically significant temple located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is not only a sacred religious site but also holds a unique place in India’s history, as it is associated with the First War of Independence in 1857. It's often referred to as the "Kali Paltan Mandir" due to its connection with the Indian sepoys of that era. The temple architecture is beautiful, combining spiritual ambiance with historical reverence. The Shivling inside the sanctum is powerful, and the daily aarti rituals, especially during early mornings and evenings, are truly divine. The energy here is peaceful and grounding—a perfect place for meditation or quiet prayer. The temple premises are clean and well-maintained, with facilities like shoe racks, drinking water, and seating areas for elderly visitors. Devotees from all over India visit this temple, especially during Mondays and Mahashivratri, when the temple is beautifully decorated and filled with devotional energy. Useful Tips for Visitors: Visit early in the morning for a peaceful darshan and to avoid crowds. Mondays are especially auspicious for Lord Shiva, but expect a larger crowd. Keep your footwear at the designated area; the staff ensures it is safe. Photography inside the temple sanctum is generally not allowed—be respectful of the rules. You can offer milk, belpatra, and flowers, which are easily available from stalls nearby. Try to visit the small museum adjacent to the temple to learn more about its connection to India’s freedom struggle. Parking is available nearby, but it can get crowded during festivals or weekends—plan accordingly. Overall, Shri Baba Augharnath Shiv Mandir is not just a place of worship, but a powerful spiritual and historical destination that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a devotee of Lord Shiva or a history enthusiast, this temple is a must-visit in Meerut. Har Har Mahadev! 🕉️🙏
The Kali Paltan Temple in Meerut is one of those rare places where history and spirituality meet perfectly. Known as one of the oldest temples in the city, it’s not just a religious spot but also a symbol of India’s first freedom struggle in 1857. The peaceful atmosphere, the divine energy of Maa Kali, and the old-world charm make it a must-visit for anyone coming to Meerut. The temple is well-maintained, easily accessible, and surrounded by small local shops selling flowers and prasad. Early morning and evening aarti are truly powerful moments the sound of the bells and chants just lift your spirit. If you’re visiting Meerut, don’t miss this temple. It’s not just about worship it’s about feeling the strength and spirit of our history.

Calm green space featuring an evening fountain show, gardens & cricket field, plus a playground.
Slide 1 of 8
It's a very nice and beautiful park it's not free you have to buy a ticket for entry. Overall the park was very beautiful and peaceful you can rest here during the afternoon time.
Gandhi bagh is nice garden with lots of flowers trees and fountain to spend evening with your family and frnds best place for nature Lovers...but can be maintained more. Most of the statues are broken and lack of cleanliness in some places.
Nalli Pulao was good, I tried white chicken it was too rich with oil and the serving curtllary was plastic spoons in a hot dish, which is really dangerous for health. Do not expect a good sitting area while visiting this location.
One of the best place for couples for hanging out. There are entry fee that is Rs. 10 per person and 20 rs per vehicle. Vehicle parking space is enough for this park. There is no water facility inside the park. Some birds are also there and playing stuff is also available for kids. Entry gates are from all sides but only a main gate that is at Roorkee Road, is open for all.
Meerut Gandhi Bagh is a big and clean public garden, ideal for morning walks, family outings, and peaceful relaxation. Its well maintained greenery and open spaces offer a refreshing escape from city life. A great spot for nature lovers and fitness enthusiasts alike.
A very good place to visit in meerut, having plenty of area to walk and sit. Well maintained parks, having flower plants , ducks, rabbits, and boat ride inside the park. Gandhi park have open gym for morning and evening exercises. We can see many of them walking around there. Also there is an old well which is moved from Delhi to meerut. Place to sit and relax, statues, children play area, Having coffee shops coffee ☕, ice-cream🍦 parlours 🍿🥧etc. Well crowded in festival times.actually the disappointing thing is lovers, if u are in single u feel alone because there are too many couples there👩‍❤️‍👨. I suggest to come in pair😉.
Good place to visit with family also, as the biggest garden of the city, contains flowers, greenery, fountain with music, ducks, pigeons, rats, rabbits etc. Children park is also there with almost all kinds of swings (jhule). Peaceful as situated in cantonment. You can also have snacks items inside the garden. A small boating area (include ticket)is also good but need to be cleaned. They also have put some small charges (approx Rs 30) per person entry. Overall good experience of refreshment over the city rush.
Very well structured for civilians(neighborhood) , specially in the evening they spend time with nature because the garden is full of trees and open gym for children. The water shower (phabbara) attract the people. But if you are going there for something new you will get nothing but a water shower ( without any music just water flow) surrounded by many trees that you have seen in the park. In addition to every person have to give 20 rs per head charge without any receipt I think that is not reasonable. I spent half an hour in the park so the amount was high, if you spend a whole day then you can afford this money. So this is what I feel.

Nice place to rest and to eat in between meerut to delhi with Gang nehar
No Maintainance by Authority As per me atmosphere is nowhere good for family seeking for Picknick, Don't hope you will get any better experience her until or Unless government plan to Renovate these place by making some infrastructure or improving decades old Ghat.. College guy are also advised to not vist here as this place is not safe as your things can be lifted up by the boys hanging around and drinking badly here. Don't expect police will help you at their full will they are just doing formality as there is Police Station establishment by government.. I'm totally dissatisfied by the authorities and the way people treat the place by throwing garbage allover the place.. So stinky and dirty ghats I ever seen at such a famous place
Bhole ki Jhaal is a very famous place in Meerut. There is a famous Shiva temple besides an important dam.The area around the dam is the main picnic spots in the city. Due to natural beauty many tourists visit the site.
Bole Ki Jhal is one of the best picnic spots in summer. Purpose( in meerut) 🏊‍♀️🤾‍♂️🤸‍♀️⛹️‍♂️🚴‍♀️
Been to this place couple of times when traveling on gang neher road. I consider this an engineering marvel as this is a mill powered by water, doesn't consume any electricity and still works! I visited this place and was in awe of the apparatus at display here. The building itself is poorly maintained, walls are defaced with 'Kapil loves lauda lasoon' but the system still works as intended. Visit this place to go back in time and appreciate what was achieved with available resources of the era in which it was constructed.
It is the best place in Meerut,There are many rivers around, and you can swimming here any time, and it's free. i suggest to carry some food/drinks when go to the spot as there are no food joints available in nearby. Best time to visit is between 1-5 p.m in the summers.
Best place where the monkey are in this place and if you go there please tale some fruits for monkeys and you van also seen there .the system produce electricity from water. I am enjoying my time there and i have spend more than 30 minutes there . This is best place in meerut city.
It is a good place for bath relaxation but there is a lot of crowd which reduces its enjoyment. The most of crowd is a group of illiterate and silly people who abuses and stares girls and woman. I hate that thing.

meerut oldest temple
Meerut's oldest temple holds great significance, even though it's not well-maintained. It's often said that if you visit with a sincere heart and pray to the goddess, your wishes will be fulfilled. Definitely worth a visit!
Temple is good. I think all the temples that are here is ancient and full of positive energy . facilities are not so good that anyone who came here from long distance can stay here for some time. Best for civilian but if are going to watch something new then t think you should think twice. But if you have grate faith in mansa devi, shanidev, hanumanji, shaibaba combo then you will go for the temple.
One of the auspicious temple in the city with Maa Manda Devi's temple along with shiv Parvati, Radha Krishna, shivalingum, Hanuman temple, bhairva Dev, Shani mandir, bhairav Dev, kaali maa, said baba. You will also find the auspicious banyan tree where notes are tied for your wishes and you have to come and open them, once fulfilled. There are lots of shops around the temple where you can buy flowers, 16-shringar, maala, coconut, chunris to tie, dhoop and what not. You don't need to carry anything. Just buy it from there. You can also buy cheap clothes, Bangles, toys from the stalls outside. You can leave your shoes with the shops or just leave them outside temple at the risk of your own. The atmosphere is really positive around. You will love the vibe
A very peaceful place with dedicated small temples for each deity. Well maintained. Please don't litter it during langars.
मंशा देवी मेरठ 🙏❤️ The history of the temple is several hundred years old. The fourth generation of priest Baba Ramgiri, who worships the feet of the goddess, is worshipping the goddess. It is said that a long time ago, a road from the forests of Kaliagarhi led to Aurangshahpur Diggi. Baba Ramgiri used to come to pay his respects to the mother through this road. After that, his descendants Chanuwa Giri, Bishamber Giri and after them now Bhagwat Giri and Laxman Giri worship the goddess. The tombs of the priests are also built in the huge complex. One family worships Maa Mansha Devi and the other Santoshi Mata.
A very old hindu temple with every god placed there. People from nearby villages also come here. People have faith here from generations. A fare/ mela is organised during navratri. The temple committee is unable to keep the temple clean. Open drains, dirty water clogged. People also took very little responsibility for keeping it clean.
This is Mansa Devi's temple. You'll find many shops for Prasad and Pooja related things. It is a very spacious place, here you'll see nav grah temple too, many ppl come and provide food facilities like bhandara etc. It is a very famous temple. But there is not a huge space for parking. Near this temple you'll find a pitamber temple too..must go there.

Nice peaceful and beautiful environment. Very good to go.

Built in 1819, the St John's Church offers a spectacular look at the unique history of Meerut. From being a site of revolt to a confluence of religions, it is a landmark in Meerut for many reasons. It was constructed by the East India Company between 1819 and 1821 and comes under the diocese of Agra. The tall columns and distinct architectural style make it a popular tourist destination in the city. Built in the cantonment area, the military remnants are apparent as well. The church compound also houses the St John's Cemetery.
John's Church Meerut Also known as Saint John the Baptist Church, John’s Church is an architectural marvel in Meerut. This popular Church in Meerut dates back to the early 19th century and is one of those few heritage sites that still stand to narrate various great historical events, including the Revolt of 1857. An interesting fact about John’s Church is that it is the oldest church in North India. The edifice of this famous church in Meerut still includes a large pipe organ which is non-functional. In order to provide air to the organ, manually operated bellows were installed in it. Amidst the cacophony of the city life of Meerut, John’s Church is one of those few places where you can pay a visit to attain a peace of mind. Throughout the year, the church remains flocked with people, however, the number doubles during Christmas, Easter and Good Friday. History The history of Saint John the Baptist Church dates back to the time of British colonial era in India. Built to serve the military garrison, the construction of John’s Church started somewhere between 1819 to 1821. It was Rev. Henry Fischer - the British Army chaplain and clergyman of Church of England, who founded this Christian sacred site Meerut. Spacious Architecture The structure John’s Chruch follow the conventional style of architecture in which most of the English churches were built before the Gothic Revival. The architecture of this holy site in Meerut boasts an influence of Palladian or classical style. However, the architectural design of the church was planned in accordance with local conditions. It includes open-interior space for worship which was built to ensure the easy flow of air to maintain the temperature of the prayer hall. The prayer hall also includes a balcony which is no longer in use. Since its inception, this Christian religious place in Meerut has undergone numerous renovations that have helped the church to keep its grandeur intact. Along with that, there is also a church’s cemetery in close proximity to the church. Location Address 1 St Floor Computer Complex Kankar Khera, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh 250001, India Opening/Closing Timings John's Church stays open all days of the week for visitors. One can visit the place on any day from morning to evening. Besides, the mass is observed on every Sunday morning. In the summer season, the Sunday mass is observed at 8:30 AM. Whereas, in the winter season, it commences at 9:00 AM. On the auspicious days Christmas, Easters, New Year and Christian Feast days, the church starts its services from 10 in the morning. Best Time to Visit Tourists can visit John’s Church throughout the year. However, the best time to visit the shrine is the winter season when the weather remains all pleasant and favourable for tourism. The winter season in Meerut begins in the month of October and ends in February.
Must see, 200 yrs completed in 2019, oldest in North India. Old testament written in Urdu as well. Remembers plates of East India Soldiers.

We went for an educational visit. Had a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend to people having interest in our country's history. The museum has various beautiful statues and our ancient information. If you're in Meerut, don't miss your chance and visit this place. Thankyou 😄
I went at afternoon and the entrance was locked. The park was very small and ill-maintained. The park was less about commemorating martyrs and more about getting the names of netas and babus who inaugurated the statue.
Museum’s main aim is the collection, preservation, documentation and exhibition of cultural property and to make it available for educational activities as well as for creation of awareness about our glorious past. Some postal stamps, pictures, post cards, memorial coins related to the events of 1857 and latter coins are also in the collection of the museum. The museum is in the developing stages and efforts are being made to collect more specimens.
It is an amazing landmark to visit and remember and pay tribute to the people who sacrificed their lives for independence and to know more about independence struggle
Beautiful memorial of Freedom Fighters of 1857. Very well crafted statue cluster has been installed. A red stone tablet displays names of slodiers who laid down their lives for future generations to be free of foreign rule. Hats off to them. Open all the days.
The place is dedicated to the freedom fighters and martyrs of the first war for independence of India in 1857. The lush green compounds are peaceful and well kept. There is a Shahid Stambh that is located in here along with a museum. Inside the museum there are preserved artifacts and items which hold relevance in retelling the story of the struggle for independence. There are two galleries inside this museum, depicting paintings and depictions of the revolt of 1857.
The galleries covered out the history of unsung heroes including my ancestor's who belong from erstwhile estate at bulandshahar district who took prominent role & fought against the british empire under the overall command of nawab of malagarh & laid down their lives.
Thank you all Meerut love Masti ♥️💯

Very beautiful park full of greenery
Greenery of this park Was Nicely maintained by the authorities. But This park is very Crowded in Walking hour. So if uh Comfort with that than uh can Go and enjoy the greenery or breath some fresh oxygen instead of cities (CO2 mixed with sulpher.)
The park is very nice and peaceful. It has greenery, fresh air, and is a good place for walking or relaxing. Families and kids can enjoy here. It could be a little cleaner, but overall it’s a lovely spot to spend time.
There isn’t much to see in this area, and it tends to be very crowded and noisy. If you're a food lover, especially fond of chaap, paneer dishes, and fast food, you might consider visiting. However, I didn’t try the food myself, so I can’t comment on its quality. It’s best to avoid coming here in the evening, as traffic congestion can be quite severe.
Peaceful place in Suraj Kund where we go there with Family in sunday for enjoying our holidays
Park is closed for too much hours they charge for parking
If you are in Meerut , do visit the SURAJ KUND PARK . It's beautiful , children play football , badminton and many more games . There are four different sub park and a statue of "swami vivekanand ji" . Women do yoga . There are many slides for children and for adult there is some gym equipment and open for everyone and at any time they can come. There is no timing for park . And throw the garbage in dustbin not in ground.
Very nice full of greenery, small gym, kids swing , picnic spot, timing is changed, now it's closed 10 to 5 O'clock every day for maintenance

Ancient temple dedicated to Maa chandi, Every year in meerut there is a fair organised "NAUCHANDI" that is related to this temple .
The Chandi Devi Temple in Meerut, located near the Nauchandi Ground, holds a special place in local history and devotion. Unlike the one in Haridwar, this temple is a more intimate and ancient site, believed to have been built by Mandodari, the wife of Ravana. It’s a beautifully serene place that feels steeped in history. The temple is especially significant during the annual Nauchandi Mela, where it becomes a focal point of worship and celebration. Visiting it gives you a sense of being connected to a very old tradition. It's a peaceful spot for devotees and a fascinating historical site for anyone interested in the city’s deep-rooted legends.
I like this peaceful temple.there is a small peaceful temple of shiva too.
The famous temple where Mandodari (wife of Raavan) used to come to offer prayers. It's because of which we've Mela organized every year here. I've fond memories of this place. While growing up in this area, visiting temple and taking blessings was part of routine life. We used to wait for Nauchandi Mela. With increasing KT population, Sanatani public started migration. It's śad but true.
Ancient Temple of Goddess Durga's in Chandi avtar. Famous centuries old Nauchandi Fair is organised every year in Name of it. It's a beautiful temple which is well maintained . A must visit for visitors in Meerut.
Chandi Devi Mandir is named after maa Durga. Maa Durga has her nine different avatars and maa Chandi is one of them. This temple is situated near the nauchandi ground. This temple has historic values too.
This is very very old Chandi Devi Temple. Just near to it is Mazar of Bale Miyan. Nauchandi fair is very famous for Hindu Muslim unity. It opens on second Sunday after Holi festival
Every year nauchandi fair is being organized by municipal corporation in the month of april which last long for a month. This fair symbolizes the unity and brotherhood between hindu and Muslim people. Must visit at least once with ur family.

Water & Amusement Parks

Park with all modern amenities available don’t miss wave pool and the water rides
Water Park and Amusement- Value for Money. Bought tickets at Rs. 700/- for adult Rs. 350/- for senior citizen and Rs. 450/- for kids whose height is above 3 feet. You can have a good time with your family and friends here. A full day packed with entertainment. Water slides are good. Wave pool is there which is activated only for 3 times a day. Costume changing rooms and toilet/bathrooms- Clean rooms. Costume charges+security amount is deposited. Locker is available. Locker charge=50+100(security). Safely store receipt otherwise they won't return security amount. Restaurant- Costly. Quantity is very less at the price. Food is also not upto the mark. They won't allow to bring outside food so you are forced to buy food from this restaurant. Parking- Rs.50/-
I forgot to take my security money for the locker that we accessed, but I remembered it when we were 30km away from this after we left. I didn't go back but called and politely asked for them to refund the money. After multiple requests with the payment proofs, they didn't give me back my 100rs. The staff named Vijyata Irvin cuts my call when I ask for my refund money. Though 100rs isn't much and either me or they won't become millionaires but it's still business ethics. It's really sad to get such responses.
Overall Good experience , A good park for ordinary people. Prices are very reasonable there. Great place for kids. All the rides are good. You can get food inside without prebooking.A good water park in Meerut with 600 ticket price for adult & 400 for children more than 4 feet on weekends.....
Very bad experience ticket price very costly and maintenance zero dirty water toilet very bad condition my total experience rost is money and time go to another place dirizling land muradnagar and Noida water park meerut ambussium park very bad
It's a nice place to visit if you want to spend 2 to 3 hours in a water park. It's more a water park. Amusement park is very limited. Only 3 to 4 rides are there. Closing time for the park is 0630 pm. Car parking is paid.
Such a worst staff i called to ask them is it open or nt she replied very rudely that we dont when it will open and i dont the prices also .... All reviews are fake on google .. these reviews are paid .... On google it is showing that park is open and they are saying we dont till when it will get open .... Such a fake nd rude people
It's okay, in Meerut this is one of the place where you can do fun with family. There sre plenty of slides, pools and swings for both adults and children. I give 3 starts because there are plenty of shed area to cover, water is not clean as it should be and no cold water everybody has hot water, this may be possible because of direct sunlight on the water.
