A truly amazing experience! We had decided to spend the night in the zoo in the treehouse and do not at all regret our decision. For our six-year-old son the experience turned out to be an amazing adventure. We were free to room the entire zoo to our liking, were treated extremely well and really enjoyed every minute. Dinner and breakfast (which were included in the night tour) were also really excellent. The absolute highlight, however, was the night tour: only the three of us and Ossi, a spectacular guide, roamed through the zoo at night with night vision and were given great insights into the life of the animals: when we could finally even feed some eagle owls, we were all really absolutely excited and overjoyed. The tree house as such was small but perfectly alright for a night of adventure. Really an amazing stay at Buchenberg!

I visited for the otter feeding experience, and my overall impression is quite mixed. On the positive side, I had plenty of time to interact with the animals, which I really appreciated, and it’s clear they are well cared for and kept in good conditions. However, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. I had hoped to book the experience earlier, as late October weather can be unpredictable, but I was told there was a maximum of 6 people per feeding. Yet, on the day of my visit, there were 10 participants in my group, which left me wondering why an earlier booking wasn’t possible. Additionally, the advertisement mentioned coffee and pastries after the feeding, but what was provided was unpacked straight from a discount package. Considering the price of the experience, this part didn’t quite live up to expectations.

One of my favourite Nature parks! It is kid friendly - you can feed the goats, lambs, pigs, alpacas, geese, donkeys. For an extra fee with booking up ahead it's possible to feed the raccoons (you need to book ahead at least 3 -4 months for warmer seasons). They do not bite or scratch you although you can bet that they will climb on top of you. There is also possible to book a walk with the donkeys or feeding the wolves - note for the wolves you just drop the food, you will not be able to touch/cuddle up with them. Sorry to crush your dreams haha. Note: The staff is super friendly and the lunch you get there is quite okay (very homey). I strongly recommend visiting the nature park of Buchenberg.
