We received a private tour in English ( only English speakers to show up for the tour slot), and the guide was very good, the tour very informative —not sure what the one star reviewers are complaining about. The price is reasonable, compared with similar tours we’ve taken. The gift shop has beautiful items, most made right at the foundry. Authentic copper cooking pans are not cheap—but there are few more typically French, practical and long lasting souvenirs that you could purchase. The staff were super friendly and helpful—even gave us a great recommendation for a lunch place.
Really interesting, lovely staff, would definitely recommend if you are interested in how things work/are made.
Good heritage and craftsmanship centre. Last here 20 years ago and had to revisit as in the area. Guided tour but was not in English so had text card which was ok but you didn't get any history of the place or details what bells they were making. 20 years ago I'm sure we has tour in English as we were told alot more information and I believe they were making a bell for Chile. Text only told us the basics of how they made bells. Even so we had fun ringing the bells in the courtyard and it was good to see the hectic working workshop. Shop had some nice items and souvenirs. Good to see it was still busy. Perhaps we will be back in another 20 years!
This is a real hidden gem. Short but extremely interesting guided tours over the real bell foundry where they talk about all steps of fabricating a bell. They fabricate all sizes - from tiny souvenir bells to giants to be installed on cathedrals - and it seems they can answer almost any question about them. I highly recommend visiting it!
Wished to visit, but sign saying closed until 16 July, due to a fire.
A hidden gem. One of only two working bell foundries in France making bells for big cathedrals (they supplied the new bells for Notre Dame in Paris in 2013 and the Cathedral in St. Malo more recently). We arrived unannounced on a Saturday afternoon and had an English tour for just the three of us within about 15 minutes during which time we played with the bells in the courtyard. It was amazing how beautiful they sounded. The tour was informative and very interesting - seeing the current commissions being worked on. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
This is a worthwhile place to visit. This is a working foundry that makes 100 bells a year some of them quite large. The guided tour is informal and extremely informative about the history and process of the foundry. Well worth the €8.50 entrance fee.
Very interesting place Lots of information Sadly the pans are expensive to buy, but as they say you get what you pay for

We toured this as an organised group - the guide was one of the workers and took us through the process of making copper pots - original tools and machines still in use - learnt a lot - especially that verdigris is not good for cooking! Other items also made - different techniques & finishes. A hidden gem!
If you are into cobber kicthenware or the craftmanship behind the cobber work, this is a place for you. It original, authentic and real piece of history. We took the 45 minuts guided tour, and learned a lot more than we knew before we got there. The guide spoke fine english, and we saw the craftsmen work. A personal downside for me was that pictures were not allowed at the factory, and the movie at the begining of the tour was from 1990.. Charming but... might need a new one soon..
A lovely place, great service for retaining our pot.
Its a cool place but the people there did not speak english very well i honestly cant blame them tho ..... would have been nice if i could understand more of what they said .... it was still an interresting place nonetheless
Would have been 5 star if the tour was in english more. Really interesting.
Sells a variety of traditional copper souvenirs and artifacts. Helpful and friendly proprietor.
Was already closed, friendly people
I love this place :)

Very helpful with a great map of the town with a walk and information Stop in before exploring the town.
Nice airy welcoming office with lots of info available in all languages. Gallery of local artists also very good. Great car park apart from grannies driving the wrong way but blaming everyone apart from herself but hey we are in France!!
Really useful place to visit but the staff could be more interest. The right place to find what is worth visiting in the area. There is much to see.
Very helpful stafg
Stunning village..... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
(Translated by Google) Nice campsite within walking distance (500 meters) of the nice lively town. The camping area is at the front. The places are separated by hedges. Clean toilet buildings at the front and a small one at the back. Nice swimming pool and play area for children. Snacks and bread. (Translated by Google) Decent welcome. Lack of air conditioning this August 25. Beautiful display of local products. We were advised to visit the copper workshop, stoves, dating from 1850. Number 10 on the map. We were wrong. Big disappointment. From the pitiful surroundings, we sense a scam: the visit lacks professionalism, very high cost for an unskilled service, in the noise, the dust, a film from 1990, summary explanations. It's not good for the city! (Original) Accueil correct.

A wonderful quite and peaceful place away from market crowds and out of the days heat. We spent half an hour in there which could have doubled. Don't walk by, its beautiful inside. A mix of modern and older stained glass and when the light shine through its amazing.
Beautiful medieval Church in the heart of Villedieu Les Poeles. It’s history can be traced back to 12th century. This interesting medieval town got its name because of the many knights that joined the Crusades from here. The Church is a must to visit and has wonderful stained glass windows.
Stunning church, with beautiful wooden and stone sculptures.
(Translated by Google) Very beautiful church. Try to visit it on a sunny day so that there is a little more clarity within it. Beautiful organ. Drop the bells. They will wait until you have made this visit. Bel orgue. (Translated by Google) A nice moment in this church, a little dark for my taste. This certainly magnifies the stained glass windows (which deserve it) but it adds an austerity that the Gothic nature of the place does not presuppose. Place located at the end of a pretty, well-kept square, the parish looks very lively with the different activities on offer.

A very warm welcome at reception. I highly recommend the lace collection and the guide in charge, who is highly-skilled. The other parts of the museum would help children learn about the history of the local working class. Some great photos from the Mauviel factory.

(Translated by Google) The visit to the Villedieu-les-Poeles museum is interesting. The French know how to present all their specialties with skill. The town is pretty and well kept. In the morning, in summer, there is often fog and it seems like autumn; then suddenly the fog disappears and the sky is blue. A nice bar close to the cathedral to get your coffee, drinks and during the week even food snack time. Opening hours convenient for french matters.
Unpleasant staff, full attitude that you don't normally see outside of Paris. Food was good and the chef is a loverly bubbly guy that comes out and chats to customers.
Busy evening. The lady serving was on her own but remained cheerful but as a result, service was slow. I had pizza and it was ok. The meal we had cost about €30 per head, which got us one course a couple of beers and some average white wine.
Nice chocolate chaud and well situated in à traditional French Cafe style courtyard. Lots of ambiance & near the centre of Villedieu les Poeles
We enjoyed their coffees.
Lovely, relaxing and nice people.. 👍
Very "Local " cafe which has a great atmosphere. Does food except Tuesday when the market is on .
Most welcoming little bar. We always call in on market day (Tuesday) when we are over from UK.

We had 10 cyclists spend a long weekend here and we loved it!! The accommodation was good, really clean and the comms with the managers was perfect. The town was magical, everything you need from shops, pubs and top end restaurants.
(Translated by Google) We were very disappointed with the accommodation: we found pieces of glass on the sofa (with 3 children under 3 years old it could have been dangerous!), the rooms in the basement are very damp and on all the windows there is mold, the kitchens are very small, and above all, we are limited to enjoying with friends with a noise detector, the threat of having 400 € taken from the deposit and the lights which go out when the sound is a little high (when we wished each other a happy new year for example). The baby beds are very uncomfortable. In short, no accommodation for us!
(Translated by Google) Gite in a beautiful stone house. Tastefully decorated and very practical. The accommodation is located in the center, easily accessible on foot, restaurants and shops nearby. The town is welcoming and I recommend taking advantage of your stay in this gîte to visit the foundry. (Translated by Google) Very pleasant and functional gîtes. We had a great time and were well supported by the Decamp key for all the organization and the welcome booklet is very well done.
