Got a really good guiding by a friendly guy that knows the history of the mills. Highly recommended! Also a little shop on the corner to buy products from the mill.
High quality flour from all types, ideal for any usage. It is a miracle.
Lovely windmill still working. It is always funny to walk by and see it is in a different direction as the high part moves to stay in the wind! There is a shop where you can buy some flour.

Small but cozy. Interesting stuff to learn about about IJsselstein
(Translated by Google) Small but interesting enough museum. During our visit there was an exhibition about the previous destination 'De Kajuit' as a youth center. In addition, a room with works of art and finally a 'historical street' with objects from the past that are of course related to the history of IJsselstein. As far as we are concerned, a short but excellent visit (benefit of a Museum Pass) during a city walk of IJsselstein. Friendly and helpful staff who provided us with a lot of information.
(Translated by Google) Today we went to the IJsselstein Museum. Together with a guest who has a walker and could easily use it. It is a small museum with on one side the excavations from IJsselstein and the surrounding area, a model of the IJsselstein castle, and two period rooms (from 1750 and 1960) and a griendschuur and display of basket makers and on the other side of the building a temporary exhibition. Today there was the exhibition: man makes landscape makes man. Very nice photos of some situations in the landscape and in another room some black and white photos from the old box. I spent about an hour in the museum (Original) Vandaag naar museum IJsselstein geweest.
(Translated by Google) Small but nice museum: the few rooms dedicated to IJsselstein have been given a sometimes mysterious, sometimes intriguing twist with contemporary contributions. It is also one of the locations of the exhibition on the theme 'Empathy'. Most of it can be seen in the Castle Tower, here there is a rather limited and diverse offering that you have to put into context yourself. The few photos are also combined with just as many works of art, indoors and outdoors. An extensive brochure that you receive at the entrance provides more background.
(Translated by Google) Very nice museum, not big but lots of special things.

Great place for little ones to burn off some energy whilst mum and dad have a coffee. Lots to do, and lots of new friends to make for the little ones.
VSatisfied with the environment, good place for kids one person cost €9 euros and parents are free
Nice place for kids and toddlers. My 15 month old had a lot of fun in the ball pool area. The place also serves some quick snacks like fries & burgers. It’s good.
It was a really bad experience. They take 7.50 € for just bringing the cake inside.Maybe not a good choice for a birthday. The environment was clean.
Fun paradise for kids. Suitable for kids from 0 yrs. There are separate areas for toddlers and other kids. Plenty parking. Good snacks and refreshment options available. Reasonable prices.
Kids friendly, spacious and neat. My daughters enjoy all the time. Nice place for winter weekends..
Got here when I was on holiday in NL place isn't too big but it is nice to sit down as parents to eat and drink something while the kids play. Entrance price is good , food and drinks could be little cheaper but yeah this is NL. Also the limonade was warm and when I asked for ice they looked at me no we don't have ice. For me that is a big minus drinks that are not cold need lots of ice in a place where the kids sweat a lot. Actually water should be by law free to give like in Spain you can ask for tap water and you get it no cost.
A lot of fun for kids. The food was not good or healthy. There was only 1 table for changing diapers in the women's bathroom but none in the men's one, therefor my husband would not able to change my kid if I was not there.

Very nice local theatre with very comfortable seats. Easy parking in the parking garage under the theatre.
The entry & bar are quite small which can create chaotic very easily. The theater itself is OK. Small, but good sound isolation. I've never visited the cinema.
Nice place. Great offer. Only feedback is stopping using plastic containers for popcorn. Services is top!
Nice theater. Used a lot for try outs by well known artists. Generally the line up is good.
Small but cozy cinema and theater.
Nice Theater. Easy parking.
I just visited once. It was fine

Must see when in IJsselstein. Beautiful catholic basilica.
The St. Nicholas Basilica is a Roman Catholic basilica in IJsselstein. This three-aisled hall church was built between 1885 and 1887 according to a design by Alfred Tepe in neo-Gothic style. The side aisles are designed as in the Hague hall type, but with wolf roofs. The colorful high altar (1893), the left side altar (1889), the triumphal cross (1889) and the Stations of the Cross (1888) were designed by the sculptor Friedrich Wilhelm Mengelberg. The church is a place of pilgrimage because of the statue of Our Lady of Eiteren Help in Need, which is located in the Lady Chapel. Due to its significance as a place of pilgrimage, Pope Paul VI granted the church the title of Basilica minor on November 11, 1972, the highest honorary title for a church building outside the city of Rome.
This is the best church in netherlands we have been to! The artwork is exquisite. We are not religious people, but this is a must visit place if one wishes to learn a bit of loval history!!
Stunning nineteenth-century Catholic church with medieval, Roman statue of the Holy Virgin (Our Lady of Eiteren, object of pilgrimage)
Wonderful church located in a corner with the canal. Rarely opened though.

(Translated by Google) Church with a tower that is different from (almost) all the others. This is due to Floris van Egmond, the CEO of IJsselstein at the time. Traveled a lot (because: CEO, business, networking, actually: Lord Floris), visited Aachen, found the architecture of the imperial court to be exactly what he liked. What was the fashion? Back to classic shapes and proportions, back to basics. Alessandro Pasqualini made a transfer to the distant, cold Netherlands and designed the oldest example of Renaissance architecture in the northern Netherlands. But good and bad luck often go hand in hand: 1568, spire, has been there for just 30 years, burns down after a lightning strike, only to be rebuilt 70 years later. In 1911: fire, damage, a lot of damage. Ten years later the spire is replaced by yet another one, now in Amsterdam School style, designed by Michel de Klerk. Look at the tower, and see what time does. Terug naar klassieke vormen en verhoudingen, back to basics. In 1911: brand, schade, veel schade.
Wonderful church at the north west part of Ijsselstein city center, typical Dutch. The only downside as usual is the fact that is it closed outside of messes...
(Translated by Google) Church was closed but we will come back for the interior.
(Translated by Google) Due to its Renaissance style, the tower from 1535 has a fairly unique appearance in the Netherlands, with graceful shapes. As one would expect, the interior is quite sober in this Gothic-style, originally Roman Catholic church. Nevertheless, it is a church that is definitely worth a visit, especially because it is such an old building (14th century).

(Translated by Google) Old St. Nicholas Church The Old St. Nicholas Church is always beautifully illuminated in the evening. The church was consecrated in 1310 by the Bishop of Utrecht and founded by Gijsbrecht van Amstel. In the sixteenth century, Floris van Egmond had a new, completely contemporary Renaissance bell tower built by architect Pasqualini. Before the iconoclasm period (1577), the then designed spire burned down in 1568 by lightning. The church and tower were not spared from a fire (1911). The restoration was completely finished at the end of 1923. The Old Saint Nicholas Church (popularly called the Protestant Church by IJsselsteiners) can be visited during open monument days, among other things. Sometimes you can also climb the bell tower. From the Old St. Nicholas Church you can take a beautiful walk through the Kroneburgplantsoen, past old monumental buildings, the castle tower (1500) and further on the St. Nicholas Basilica (1887). After this you can walk back via Benschopperstraat and Utrechtsestraat. Visit many cozy shops, view historic buildings (17th century) and see the beautiful old town hall (commissioned in 1568). You can park in the parking garage called Eiteren. From this garage you walk along the old moat and you will see the Old St. Nicholas Church, which is a nice starting point for your walk. The IJsselstein Tourist Office can be found in the Benschopperstraat in the weighing building. (Original) Oude Sint-Nicolaaskerk De Oude Sint-Nicolaaskerk is ’s avonds altijd prachtig verlicht.
