Since June 2024 I’ve received counselling with Claire at Here to Listen Counselling at Eastthorpe Hall. Claire is incredibly skilled and has a very human approach that makes me feel instantly at ease. She continues to significantly help me process and work through complex-PTSD, childhood trauma, depression and anxiety. Her fees are affordable and she has been very accommodating regarding session frequency. Eastthorpe Hall itself is a beautiful place and I find my shoulders relax as soon as I enter. The atmosphere is welcoming and safe.
Had a much needed therapeutic massage with Gina from Inner Beauty. I asked for 2 hours (even though this wasn’t on the ‘menu’) and explained I was run down after a cold and a busy couple of weeks. Gina tailored the oil blends specifically for this and all of them smelt incredible. The Eucalyptus balm was just what I needed. My massage was so relaxing and honed in on all the areas i was holding tension. When I got home I went to bed and had the deepest sleep I’ve had in the last few weeks - it was like I’d been knocked out! I’ve already booked back in and am determined to make a massage with Gina part of my self care routine going forwards. I’ve also told all my friends!!!
The day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The setting was beautiful and the perfect combination of being luxurious and cosy and the staff were so friendly, approachable and professional. I loved how I did not have to think once during the day - the staff thought of everything and collected me for each treatment. I felt absolutely relaxed and rejuvenated. I was going through a hard time and the warm and positive atmosphere created by the staff ensured that I left feeling so much better. I couldn't recommend it highly enough, the packages are such good value for money. The food was delicious and I felt so well looked after. Thank you so much, I can't wait to come back.
My mum and I had a wonderful time during our 1/2 day spa day! Everyone made us feel very welcome and we were made to feel so relaxed. The staff were all brilliant and the food was amazing too! We didn’t want to leave but we will definitely be back! X
Deborah was fantastic, one of the best massages and facials I've had in a long time. It was so good to come back. I think I've been coming on and off for 18 years now - where has that time gone! Food as always was divine and so nice to have full dietary requirements listened to and achieved! I just love Eastthorpe and all the staff who make sure we have the relaxation and down time we need. Thank you again xx
I visited today with my elderly Aunt who has mild dementia and we were both welcomed and treated with warmth and kindness, this was especially appreciated in relation to my Aunt - your patience and understanding was fantastic! Both of our treatments were fab' and wonderfully relaxing - thank you very much. A special thanks too for the great lunch, my gluten free and lactose free options were delicious and much appreciated. Many thanks indeed for a great day.
The staff are so welcoming and polite, the food is delicious, the treatments are great and the pool area is very relaxing. We had a gorgeous weather today and were able to enjoy the beautifully maintained garden as well. You have made us feel so relaxed and looked after. Thank you so much!
Simply the most amazing, blissful day that there could've been. There are no words to describe what a beautiful experience you have provided us with today. You make your guests feel so special and valued in beautiful surroundings with amazing food and fantastic treatments. All the staff go above and beyond anything we've experienced at other spas. Gina and Sophie were so fantastic with our treatments and care. This is the place to go to escape the world for a day. Thank you so much

Great pub, slightly hidden from the main road. Full of local character. Nice real ale on tap.
Very decent pub, but with only a handful of customers and out of six handpumps only one in action I thought it was going to be dire night. But after my first excellent pint of ale people started to come in for what looked like some beautifully cooked home food, which was very reasonably priced indeed and a few drinks, then everyone got chatty so ended up having a good night. Mirfield is without doubt the world's friendliest place. I originally gave it two stars for atmosphere but altered it later when it got busy.
Had a lovely meal with my family - decent portion sized and a tasty, home cooked Sunday lunch. Some decent beers available too, and the value for money was great. plus, they look to have some decent entertainment events lined up - quiz nights, comedy and music. We'll be back!
2021 is the Twelfth consecutive appearances in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Up to 6 Real hand pulled ales available. Currently 30 Gins available. Excellent menu with home made food available. Party Bookings taken for private events in their conservatory Phone for availability.
Under new ownership with good beer and great atmosphere.
Went mid week to the Wednesday quiz, and had a really good night. Staff were welcoming and the whole atmosphere was friendly. Was a working men's club back in the day, but not now so everyone is welcome including dogs. Would recommend.
Under new ownership young hard working couple courtney and callum have brightened the place up good night out live events limited parking but good beer good staff dog friendly will ad a video of before it officially opened which was 3rd may 2025 and was packed out with people having a good night
A lovely pub, with a great atmosphere.. Very friendly staff and well worth a visit..

Had a great experience. Cask beer is on point and nice that it was from an independent brewery. Food was outstanding, I will be going back with the family. Staff were all excellent. It was my first visit and I was made to feel welcome. The chips are outstanding!
This is our first visit to the White Gate. It won't be our last. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and our waitress Krystal was very pleasant. It's dog friendly and she was very attentive to our anxious puppy. There is outside seating if you prefer and a lovely view. The toilets were clean and a basket of ladies essentials was a lovely little touch. A leisurely and relaxed way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.
Lovely meal and stayed for a couple of drinks afterwards. Food very good,, large portions and crispy poached egg looked amazing, wish I'd ordered it!!
I went here for a family meal. The pub looked nice and the service was ok. As for the food it wasn't the best. The garlic mushroom starter was bits of mushroom in a cream sauce that don't taste of much. I had a burger for my main I cut into it and it wasn't cooked and was cool to touch. The chips were cold on all 3 meals. The veg was over cooked on the roast dinner. The chicken and mushroom pie was over cooked and had no filling really. I was disappointed and wouldn't go back or recommend.
Our second visit and another delicious meal under the new management. Really tasty, fresh food and great service. We will be regulars and would highly recommend a visit if you haven’t been there since it changed hands. (They do a children’s menu too and there are always well behaved dogs in the bar & garden!)
Curry and rice with popadoms was mediocre. The other dish ordered looked lovely, cheese and broccoli bake and chips (which were plentiful). Ice-cream sundae was 3 scoops of ice-cream and 2 flakes. Not over impressed
The burger was nice, especially with the extra bacon which was nicely crisped. And the onion rings! Really nice, hard to find quality onion rings that are crispy and not greasy. Those were perfect. Thank you!
Very disappointed with over an hour waiting time. The food was a disgrace and well over done fish and steak burger. Not sure if the chef is up to a small busy public house. Back to the royal and ancient where the food is delicious. So disappointed with the new owners but things might change and hope the best for them

Kids really enjoyed the fire works. I just with there was a vegetarian option for pie and peas ( cheese and onion pasty and peas, or porkless pie and peas.)
Fantastic night with a live band. Staff brilliant. Nice ending to mothersday catching up with friends.

Tender Touch Therapies are marvellous. I can’t praise them enough for the quality of life they have given to me. I had undergone years of Physiotherapy, steroid injections and pain killers before I discovered Tender Touch. After just one visit my pain had gone completely. Michelle’s healing hands and professional knowledge, experienced application and attention to detail were all that was required to completely transform my body. Tender Touch Therapies are amazing and I highly recommend them for anyone who needs relief from pain and suffering.
2nd visit for 2 different problems and Michelle once again fixed my broken body. I can’t praise this ladies techniques enough. She also fixed my hubbys shoulder issues. If you have any issues don’t hesitate to contact Michelle. No more discomfort
Having had numerous issues with my knee & having no positive treatment from my doctors ...just wanted to give me painkillers..I decided to visit michelle a pain therapist..after two visits my pain levels have reduced 85% I would highly recommend michelle at tendertouch Therapies to anyone suffering with any pain...thanks again michelle
I was really struggling with painful sciatica, so decided to book in at Tender touch therapies. I must admit I was slightly sceptical being 9 months pregnant, I thought I would just have to accept the pain, however, 2 days later the pain started to ease and after a week has almost completely gone! Would highly recommend!
I went to see Michelle for my neck and shoulders problem. She advised me to try Emmett therapy and after only just one session my mobility is back to normal and I have no more pain. Absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend it, she is great.
Michelle is AMAZING!!! I had a mastectomy 7 years ago and was struggling with a tightness due to scar tissue and increased sensitivity due to nerve damage. Two sessions in and I can already see and feel a massive difference. The appearance of the scars is so much better and I now have full movement in my left arm again. Michelle makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable. Would highly recommend. Thanks Michelle x
I went to see Michelle today for Emmet technique, I've had a trapped sciatic nerve for a couple of weeks and, someone told me about it. I was a little sceptical at first but thought I'd give it a go as I had to wait a couple of weeks for physio on the NHS. I was AMAZED. Michelle made me feel right at ease, I was struggling to walk without a limp and the pain was horrendous, but, after I'd had the treatment I felt so much relief, I walked out with no limp, and even walked up the stairs. Thank you Michelle 😊
After many years of suffering chronic I pain I now use Michelle for Emmet technique. I can not recommend this treatment enough, I am blown away with the results, I have drastically reduced my pain relief intake, after visiting a few times to begin for a lot of work I now will be attending for maintenance/ up keep. Fantastic service and treatment
