Great skiing and views across the alps. Can get windy at times. Was very quiet when we were there, which was great.
Great place to ski. Well groomed pistes all day and not too crowded. Lifts are in good condition. Nice bars & restaurants. Nenner Sport has 2 Shops on the glacier, so if you need to rent i would recommend them as you can quickly get any issues resolved while you are on the mountain and dont need to cut off your day to go to the rental shop. Nice for small walks too. nice big viewing platform on top. careful though, no toilets on the very top!!!
Just Wow... first time there but in the morning when sun shine and you have nearly whole slope for yourself the slope is perfectly prepared one word comes in mind "unglaublich"... We have visted in January.
Awesome glacier ski resort! Well prepared slopes which are broad, length is medium to short. Supposed to be ski resort during the whole year but I haven't been there in summer. Food is just ok, view is very nice. Definitely recommended overall!
We visited on foot at summertime. A very nice experience going all the way to the top at "Gefrorene Wand". The view is awesome. The "Sommerbergalm" (first stop) @2100m is mostly for kids. Not a great view, still rather warm and a playground. The second stop "Tuxer Fernerhaus" @2600m has a rather nice view, a huge restaurant with both self-service and table serving. This is where the Sommerbergalm skiing starts. It's was around 9°C at noon. The last stop "Gefrorene Wand" Bad an absolute awesome view from the top terrace. No restaurant, but a glacier walk. We did not try that as shorts and normal shoes did not seem appropriate for that activity. It was around 0°C at noon. We got a discount by buying tickets after 11:45. Kids younger that 8 are free. 8-16 travel at kids rate. Remember to bring warm clothes and proper footwear.
Must to visit, better in good weather
Great area for skiing and snowboarding when other areas aren't open. We had a blast snowboarding there in late November. Lots of variety, the weather can change fast though.
When you are up you are up. When you are down you are down. When you are only half way there you are neither up nor down. Fantastic place to visit all year round. Great facilities - although no toilets at the top station so be aware!

Visiting the Ice Palace inside the Hintertux Glacier was an unforgettable experience! Even in June, when we arrived in shorts and t-shirts. The temperature inside was a steady 0°C, but with a hoodie and shorts, it was still bearable for us. However, for those who are more sensitive to the cold, I definitely recommend bringing warmer clothing. The highlight of the visit was learning that the glacier is a part of a permafrost zone — it’s amazing to think that you're walking through ice that's been frozen for thousands of years. The ice formations, frozen tunnels, and blue-lit chambers create a magical atmosphere that both kids and adults can enjoy. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Zillertal Alps — just don’t forget to check your outfit before going in!
Wonderful place, it’s expensive but it’s worth! I have been to the other ice cave but this one is really fantastic! We were there on the rainy day and it was raining and windy as we walked down to the cave. There was snow and it was really slippery so be careful to wear proper clothing even in summer. Inside the cave it’s about zero degree and a bit slippery but it’s soooooooo beautiful. 🤩 love this place. If I would have time, I’d like to sing “ let it go “ and perform a dance and pretended I was the princess Elsa. 😂😂😂
Amazing experience. Worth every penny. Don’t miss this if you’re in the area. Get tickets in advance online in peak season - it’s popular for good reason.
It’s a must visit ! We went in the summer and truly was an incredible experience. George was our guide through the ice cave tour and he was amazing
Wonderful tour. Friendly and engaging tour guide (Georg I think it was) with excellent information and making sure everyone navigated it safely. Would highly recommend. Do take some warm clothes and gloves though!
This was a really unique experience - exploring a natural ice cavern, almost like one of Tintin's adventures. Very beautiful and astounding. Also a lot to learn and the guide was very helpful and enthusiastic about his subject. The rubber mats and ropes and ladders make navigating the corridors and shafts no problem even with small kids. The highlight was probably the boat ride along an underground stream in the ice cavern. It was very safe too - probably the most challenging bit with the kids was just trudging downhill through the snow to reach the entrance!
We were guided by George, who was incredibly friendly and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. The whole tour was well organized, and his guidance made it even more enjoyable. Swimming in the glacier was such a unique and unforgettable experience, something you don’t get to do every day! Highly recommend this!
Roman & Jirka - wonderful team! Fantastic place under ski piste. We went there during skiing and the place is another world for itself. Tour was joy. It is not big - you will be out in 60-70 minutes, but what you see will remain with you till tha last ice age.

We could not find an online shop for the cable car but it was also possible to buy one at the station. We were equipped with good clothing, helmets and gloves. Overall it took about 4 hours for us to finish. It was the first time for all of us and was manageable. People working there were amazing. Our guide, Philip, was very fun to spelunking with. I was afraid of going deep down at some point so one person accompanied me while I was waiting for my friends. He comforted me :) It is a nice experience, I would recommend it
The cave is amazing. Narrow corridors and tunnels, a great experience for kids. The guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. The only problem is getting there - on foot from the ski lift, along the red slope, quite steep. When it’s foggy and cloudy, it’s quite dangerous, we almost got lost in the snow on the way back. The route should be marked better. So be careful when visiting with kids (although the cave itself is certainly a highlight for kids!).
(Translated by Google) Today we took part in a guided tour of a small part of the cave. This is huge and more is possible for adventure seekers with registration. It's a bit tight, but doable. A real adventure feeling for younger speleologists too. Helmets and a rain jacket are included on every tour. Thanks for the interesting tour. I liked it.
(Translated by Google) This marble cave is definitely worth a trip. The tour through the cave is very interesting. The guides definitely enjoy what they do. We got an interesting lecture and it was definitely not boring. I will look at the cave again, but then the big tour. However, you have to register well in advance. The small tour takes place several times a day.
(Translated by Google) Crystal clear recommendation for cave trekking (Tour B). Actually much more informative, varied and physically challenging than originally expected. Price for the tour (75€) absolutely fair. Trustworthy, experienced and cool guide. The only thing that didn't have to be the joke about the stalactites.
(Translated by Google) An impressive cave with a very informative and exciting tour, you have to go in, once you're at the top, it's worth it. It's open, even if it looks very closed from the train.
(Translated by Google) The cave is an absolute must. Even for someone who otherwise doesn't have that much interest. Silvana gave us a great tour of the cave and had a lot of interesting things to tell us about it. What I found really nice was that she was happy to receive any questions. You can tell that she does her job with heart. Considering that we were already fascinated by the cave during our sightseeing tour - what would we say if we first saw the large part? It continues underground for kilometers. Really recommended.
(Translated by Google) Great experience and interesting impressions about the creation of this natural spectacle! Many thanks also to the nice “compatriot” who explained it to us so well today - with a certain feeling of adventure! Definitely recommended for young and old... (Translated by Google) The hike to the Schleier Waterfall is worth it. Very beautiful scenery (Original) Die Wanderung zum Schleierwasserfall lohnt sich. Sehr schöne Kulisse
(Translated by Google) Be sure to take a look, it's best to hike the nature trail - great display boards, games and quizzes about the forest and nature. There are two paths, we walked the longer one (7.5 km). If the kids get tired (twins 8 and little 6) there are benches everywhere to rest or have a picnic. The waterfall is the crowning glory of the route, really beautiful.
