A little of everything in one stop. Fresh veggies, fresh fish, souvenirs, coffee shop, ramen and soba restaurant. Best part for me; the small Sumo Museum upstairs. Perfect place for a family to visit on a drive along the coast.
This place have a few restaurants, a coffee shop and souvenir shop and is joyful to visit. The people there mostly is local one enjoying their life and seems doing a day trip and resting there as same as me. It's located on a sea side road with excellent reputation.
Nice local shop in the station where you can get some local produce and treats.
A good stopover place to enjoy seabreeze and to take snapshot with the famous dog statue wasao ~
Good food by the port, cheap
Lovely place to buy seafood, fish and vegetables. There is even a sumo museum upstairs.

I was in awe. So much information in one place about Sumo and it's free. I can't read Japanese so I used Google translate a lot so it's all good. Please visit.
(Translated by Google) It is located on the 2nd floor of Ajigasawa Seaside Station One. Admission is completely free ❣ Items related to the sumo wrestler ``Mainoumi'' from Aigasawa are on display. When I went, there were no other customers, so I could watch as much as I wanted. If you're a sumo fan, I think it's a good idea to go as it's free.
(Translated by Google) This is a memorial museum for former sumo wrestler Mainoumi, nicknamed the "Department Store of Technique." There were many exhibits that Mainoumi fans would be very satisfied with. The specially selected videos of his matches from his active days are a must-see, but it was disappointing that the images sometimes got stuck. I was surprised that admission was free. There are items used by Mai no Umi and panel displays about her early life, and in the central theater you can see 20 of Mai no Umi's carefully selected works. I was so excited to see Mai no Umi, who was so small that I couldn't help but scream, come from behind to win. Located on the second floor of Umi no Eki Wando, various sumo items are on display (see image), and past exciting Mai no Umi matches set in the ring are shown on the screen. I happened to be able to see the special exhibition, and I felt like I had gained a lot of money. We recommend you to stop by if you go to Wando. A real hidden gem and one I want to hide away so it can stay hidden. Amazing snow and lots of it. We are beginners and this resort had the most trails accessible to our level. The gondola is open every day, despite some really windy days. The gears at the rental shop are well maintained and paying additional 1000 yens got us new gear which is a steal. The food was good, as usual in Japanese ski resort - curry, ramen, udon - just whats needed to refuel. We loved the fresh pizza, we had it 4 times in 7 days - best pizza I had in Japan!
Had a great time here. Not crowded and the slopes were good for practicing powder. Note there is 1 washing machine for the whole resort so pack smartly. Staff are friendly. There is a family mart but need to drive about 20mins. Onsen was so fun with the snow coming in. No cold plunge.
We had the most amazing experience at Aomori Springs and the Rockwood hotel. The hotel was so welcoming and comfortable. Great gathering places for groups, helpful staff that treated us like family, delicious food options, and awesome onsen. The skiing was beyond words- We went with Kaitlyn who was absolutely phenomenal. The terrain was awesome- some of the best side country I’ve ever skied. Deeeeeeep snow that just kept coming. We rarely visit the same place twice, but we are already planning next year’s return trip. Thanks team!
My favorite place in the world! Tan Tan ramen is the best 🫶
Great mountain to come have fun on some great slopes. The snow was perfect when we went! The lift passes include all lifts and gondola. The gondola was a real treat as far as convenience and ease for my 7 year old...the resort also had a hotel/spa, rental area, and place to get delicious food. If you are a Tohoku resident be sure to have proof so you can get the discount lift pass. There is also a bunny slope for sledding.
Great place to ski and snowboard. Kind of small but it’s very affordable and close to the city. Got my board waxed here and they did an awesome job and even removed the surface rust on my edges for free. It has rails, boxes, and ramps for those wanting to do some tricks. Great variety for a small resort.
Love the ski resort. Weather is great, snow is very powdery.
Dumped snow on us and had an AMAZING ski weather! Pretty beginner friendly but also had some good areas for everyone. Family friendly.

I tried to go (2022.10.23), but the road was closed due to storm damage in August and there didn't seem to be any alternative way to access it. The damage seems to have affected many roads throughout Aomori.
(Translated by Google) It's about 15 minutes from the parking lot. It faces southeast, so you'll need to go early in the morning to see the sun. Although there are toilets, in autumn there are so many stink bugs that there is no place to step, so it is better to use the toilet at a convenience store near Ajigasawa Station. The previously unpaved roads have now been paved and are now easier to drive on. There is a toilet in the parking lot, and the waterfall is easily accessible, about a 15-minute walk. It is one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls, and its appearance is majestic and wonderful. Previously, it was possible to go to the basin of the waterfall, but as of September 2020, barricades have been erected and it is no longer possible to go. It's a good time to see the leaves here, so I'm looking forward to autumn as well. 【postscript】 2021.10.27 It's the peak season for autumn leaves, and I visited there for the first time in a while. Inside the store, There is also a restroom, so it's a good place to take a break while eating soft drinks, but there are very few seats, or rather, there's only one chaise lounge in the store. The store is small! So, When it's crowded, you'll have to stand outside to eat. There are only two tables for 3 to 4 people outside, so you may not be able to sit at the restaurant. (Translated by Google) I finally made it. This completes my list of Aomori's three major soft-serve ice cream spots. The parking lot is small and can't accommodate many cars. The building with the prominent sign on the parking lot side looks like a ruin. It's lifeless... I started to worry, "Is it even open?" The shop is in the building next to it, with just one flag, and that's the entrance. At the entrance, photography is prohibited inside the shop. There's a sign asking people to wear masks. Even in crowded tourist spots and the Kanto region, no one wears a mask, but that can't be helped. If you go, don't forget your mask. There was not a single customer. Even on a weekday, this is unheard of elsewhere. They don't have the ice cream in the photo. The refrigerated display case wasn't in use. The lady's service was average. A regular-sized soft-serve ice cream costs a hefty 500 yen. (October 2024) More expensive than anywhere else. More expensive than the tourist spot, Oirase Gorge. The taste is gentle and sweet with a clean aftertaste. Many reviewers say it's rich, but it's not that rich. The shop itself claims that its signature flavor is its clean taste. To be honest, it's just average. There are better places out there. Who put it in the top three? When I looked it up before, I saw an article that said there was a huge gap between the top three, with Bon Serve (Mutsu) in first place and Holonbair (Hachinohe) in second place, and I agree. The road surface between Tsugaru Pass and Aqua Green Village had more rutted parts, so I had to be careful around the curves. The road up to Tsugaru Pass was more fun as it was a flat road.

At that time, it was still called ``Hongsei Forest Road,'' and the long dirt road with three passes was famous among cyclists. After passing Lake Miyama, the road turned to dirt. Rumor has it that the road is extremely bad, but there isn't much gravel and a fair number of cars can pass through it. However, when a car passes by, dust is thrown up and it closes. As you climb up the ridge from the deep forest, the view opens up. There was a nice signboard at Tsugaru Pass. On this day, I went down to Akashi River and pitched a tent in front of the gate of the branch forest road. There is a long dirt road before and after, and if you come from the Nishimeya Village side, you will have to cross two more passes. In Japan, it is a place where you can drive through a valuable world natural heritage site, but it is a very difficult road to drive in a regular car. I passed from Nishimeya Village to Fukaura Town, and the several dozen kilometer stretch from Tsugaru Pass to Hitotsumori Pass in Fukaura Town was particularly bad, with large stones, cracks in the road surface, and severe spots. There were also places where small rivers had formed on the slopes. We left Tsugaru Shirakami Lake around 5:30 pm and arrived at Juniko Lake around 9 pm, so it took us over 3 hours to conquer Route 28 on the unpaved road. If you are heading towards Fukaura Town from the Nishimeya Village side, you may want to turn back at Tsugaru Pass unless you are confident in off-road vehicles or driving on unpaved roads. *Visited on August 25, 2019 (Original)

A parking space has appeared. I was really surprised because we met in the middle of an unpaved mountain road. It was a great place to take a breather in the quiet air while looking at the majestic mountain range that almost made me think I was the only person there. I don't think I'll ever forget it. (Translated by Google) This was the most memorable town on my trip to Aomori. The untouched and abundant nature, the kind locals, and the delicious food and drinks were great. We provide easy-to-understand and kind explanations with hand-drawn maps. Most of the attractions are within walking distance and walking routes will guide you. There are bicycles to rent, but the sightseeing spots are not that far away, so I think it's best to walk and enjoy the scenery slowly. If you want to go to ``Yaki Squid Street'', you will probably need to rent a bicycle as it is about 5km away.
