Great views and very relaxing time. We did the round trip. Next time we would start with the chairlift because there was no wait to go up. For the gondola's lift there was a huge wait to go up the mountain.
The Niederwald Seilbahn was such a wonderful experience! The ride over the vineyards gave breathtaking views of the Rhine River and the beautiful greenery all around. It was calm, scenic, and very well organized. The ride felt safe and smooth, and the views from the top were absolutely worth it. A must-do if you visit Rüdesheim – it’s the perfect way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area
We took and ring tour. We boarded the ship near the ticketing office and got down at Assmannhausen. A short 15 minutes walk and a series of steps from there leads to the cable car station, from where one can take the cable and reach the top of the hill. The cable car rice is a must-do activity. while on the cable car, you can enjoy lovely views of the valley below, with its lovely vineyards along with the Rhine river.
Fun but cable car was pretty slow
It's a fun way to get up the mountain. Bring cash with you, because they don't accept cards.
Reviewed on 15 Aug 2018. It's a chair lift (cable car but only chairs) that goes from Assmannahausen to top of mountain. Takes about 15-20 min for 1 way ride. If you take a circle ticket (Bingen to Assmannshausen to Niederwald to Rudesheim to Bingen) cost is included. Only 2 persons can at a time. A pair of chair lifts come almost in every 30 sec or so. Very good experience.
Beautiful views of the valley and the vineyards while coming down. It is better to take a ring trip including the cruise that goes to multiple stops, disembark at Assmann to enjoy the ropeway, it is quite a lovely experience
Lovely town ;) Good for weekend trips.

(Translated by Google) If you go to the Rhine in February, you obviously don't expect the fullest life in a tourist region that is more geared towards summer. But if you find out about a restaurant at home via the Internet and read "Open every day without a day off" without there being any specific reference to seasonal opening, you would expect to find the restaurant open, but that wasn't the case. Even then, no amount of appetizing menu will help.
(Translated by Google) Small, fine winery. Pinot Noir dominates here, clearly due to the Assmannshäuser Höllenberg location. Wine tasting costs money: a sample of 3 is 5 euros, a sample of 5 is 8 euros! Advice is very good and informative, and the wine cellar was also shown. Wines are of high quality. Here are a few that are worth it: Riesling Old Vines 2016, Pinot Noir local wine 2015, Pinot Noir estate wine 2011, Pinot Noir Assmannshäuser Höllenberg 2010 try it.

We had the best tasting. Mr Kesseler not only brings the best wines to the table but also amazing history behind them. His story is inspirational and every single wine from the Pinot noir to the rieslings were delicate, balanced and full of flavor. I would recommend 100%.
Not just one of Germany's best, but maybe in the world. Town location, winery location and surrounding areas are stunning. August speaks great English and really takes care of his guests! Wines are stunningly balanced and well-priced. Rheingau as a region is by far the best as well, as it is small, has high quality standards, right on Rhein, close to other regions like Mosel and just has amazing wine. So, if you go, don't miss this area and winery. I would also do River Cruise from Rudesheim to Koblenz!!!
We visited the winery of August Kesseler on November 14 and it was the best decision we could ever make for a personalised experience of great Rheingau wine tasting! Mr Kesseler is a true host as he personally introduced us to his cozy tasting room and his amazing wines! It worths any minute and every penny spent as you are about to enjoy some of the most sophisticated wines presented by the producer himself! His passion and love for what he does is indisputable and really transmits this passion to his visitors! It’s a must!
Great experience. Very elaborate wine tasting with some truly unique and amazing wines. August Kesseler is super friendly and welcoming and shared a lot of knowledge about his wines with us. Definitely recommend to visit when planning a trip nearby!
Best wine tasting ever experienced. With my friend Christian Dupont and our wifes, we had the best three hours together with the exceptional August Kesseler. We tasted, we learned, we evolved.
I had a personal tasting with Mr. Kesseler, which was a great honor and a lot of fun. I greatly appreciated the detailed background and vivid stories Mr Kesseler provided with his wines. That level of detail and precision, as well the generosity of his character, also describes the wines. They all hang on a careful balance of freshness and sharp focus, and generosity and pleasure. Complex wines, great depth and layers. Try his wines to taste the best expressions of the famous Pinot Noirs from Assmannshausen and Rieslings from Lorch and Rüdesheim.
Fantastic winery. The most important Pinot Noir producer in the Rheingau. A truly world-class producer of Pinot Noir in a region only known for its Riesling. The by-appointment-only wine tasting is perfect for a true oenophile. An experience that few others with have ever achieved.
One of the best wines in Germany. I almost tasted all the wines and I have to say they stole my heart. August Kesseler makes for example beautiful Pinot noir's and Rieslings, wines for every occasion.
