Swimming is popular at this remote sandy beach in a cove surrounded by rock formations.

Iconic beach. The hike down is steep, but absolutely worth it for the views and unreal color of the sea. We went early in the morning and enjoyed some privacy, but it got crowded very fast. Overall, a truly unique experience 💙

Wonderfull unique beach. The climb down is steep but fine and generally safe if you are with normal shoes and carefull. The water is clear and beautiful. There are also rocks from which you can jump off in to the water. The road to the beach is good (bit steep at the end) and the parking is a bit rugged. All on all I would highly recommend visiting this beach as early in the day as possible.

Seitan Limania has a beautiful view when you arrive, but the access is very difficult for people with reduced mobility, we had to go down a cliff to arrive at the beach, for us, the beach was amazing but the water was milky and the place is very small for the amount of people. In the beach you can climb rocks for cliff jumping. The beach is also good for snorkeling, there are a lot of fish.

Such natural beauty, but you gotta work to make it there. Do not wear sandals, you will instantly regret it There are 2 was to go down, one has a chain that gives you something to grab, and the other route has small red + white markers that indicate the path Water was beautiful

Nice hike! Not very difficult, 10-15 minutes walk - so worth it! It is crowded but in my opinion it’s not that bad and you can always find a quiet spot. There are some cool rocks you can jump from. Very nice day trip

What a visit this was 🤩 The beach is quite hidden and you have to hike down a pretty rocky and steap path to access the crystal clear water. It’s feels a bit out of this world to float around there.

Incredible views and wateris almost perfect. It is a rocky beach which I am not a fan of. But once you get in the water it is amazing. The water is so clear and the views breathe taking. However!!!!! It's not an easy climb up or down. Yes it is a climb. There are two ways to get to the beach. Either by boat or climb/hike down the side of the cliff. It is possible but make sure you have good shoes. Do not attempt this in flip flops.

Active Byzantine monastery built in the 17th century also housing a museum of rare religious works.

3€ per person to get in. This is an active monastery so you need proper attire. Bigger than I expected with beautiful plants and flowers inside the courtyard. Everything is well maintained. The church in the center is also beautiful. There is a room with human skulls in commodes which was surprising. There is a small museum with a couple of rooms with great religious artifacts, including some 12 century parchemins ! If you are in the area it is well worth a detour.

It’s a beautiful place, but be aware: I was charged €5 instead of the usual €3, without any explanation. This might have been because I was wearing shorts and they asked me to use a scarf to cover them. However, after me, other visitors entered wearing dresses and were not asked to cover up. If you visit, I suggest bringing your own scarf or saying you don’t have cash — some people mentioned they were allowed to enter for free. The garden is very well kept.

Beautiful monastry, plenty of history, meticulously maintained. Short drive from Chania. Only 3 euros entry fee. It is also the start of a walking trail and gorge walk down to the coast and another (but this time abandoned) monastry. This trail was said to be closed when we visited at the end of October.

I visited this place unplanned and it was a very nice surprise. Complex in a very good condition with a museum, many plants and monastery in the centre. Please respect the holly place with appropriate clothes and behaviour. Big parking next to the monastery.

Holy experience! Very cute little monastery and peaceful. You’ll be welcomed by a multilingual monk. Wine tasting and olive oil testing available from 11:00 to 17:00 in the museum on the left side of the entrance.

Highly recommend doing this hike for one of your mornings in Crete. We arrived around 8 am and there were no crowds, but as we were leaving at 10, there was a crowd forming at the monastery at the start of the trek. Cover your legs (no shorts) when in the monasteries. Bring lots of water since the hike is steep and there isn’t a lot of shade. The ruins are very cool, they aren’t huge but they are impressive considering how long ago they were built. We paid no entrance fee but other reviews mention one. Keep an eye out for goats!

Great experience! The hike is manageable and suitable even for those with little hiking experience. Just make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, water, and a hat, as it can get quite sunny. The destination itself is an amazing historical site and absolutely worth the visit.

You need to be ready for a decent hike but the views and the ruins with the cave along the way make it a must see if you have ime in Crete. We had a nice wine tasting at the holy Trinity monestary which is on the way from Chania and worth a look too.

The monastery ruins were nice, though smaller than I expected. Note that the hike to Katholiko Bay is open, but swimming is prohibited. Entrance fee was 2.50 euros per person, cash only.

Absolutely stunning walk from the Gouverneto Monastery car park. Do take some precautions. The first part of the trail is really easy and well packed, but it does get a bit uneven and some of the rocks are worn enough to have become a bit slippy. Definitely bring a few bottles of water. Fantastic views of the surrounding hills and sea the further you descend. There's a bit of scrambling from the monastery to Katholiko Bay further down the trail. Bit of cardio on the way back up. All in all a couple of hours well spent.

Absolutely a must see place and also continue to beach. Probably this is my favorite place in Crete. Not sure why but there are several things that I didnt find anywhere in Crete: less people althought I was in August and all mountain roads are crowded, the entire trip full of interesting caves or monasteries, the older one 1000 years old, at the end of the road the perfect place to swim or make high jumps from clifs, again no tourists. I can define this to be a perfect place in Crete.
