The tea plantation in Ahangama is an absolutely stunning and beautiful place to visit. The hour-long tour, which takes you from understanding the different tea categories to exploring the factory, is well worth it. However, the true gem of this location is Dudley, a 79-year-old professional whose passion for tea shines through as he expertly explains every detail. Thank you, Dudley, for your professionalism and for sharing your love of tea! 🙏🏻🫖 Price for tour 650 Rs - per person 👌🏻
It's been a while since my last visit to the tea estate. Nevertheless, it's worth catching up on the review. We had a private tour and learned lots of interesting facts about how to make 'the perfect cup of tea' and what goes into it. The staff were very knowledgeable, kind and hospitable.
Great place to learn about the process of growing, harvesting and making tea. The estate offers a fantastic 1.5 hours tour, Dudley was a great guide. Cake and tea are including in the entry fee and finally the tour ends with a tea tasting for different kinds of tea. You can also purchase loose and tea bags from their shops.
Sella was an amazing informative guide that showed us the whole estate and the factory 🏭 it costs 650 lkr. As of October 2025. It was a great experience.
Handunugoda Tea Factory is a superb place to visit! Guests can experience high-quality tea varieties and learn about the fascinating tea-making process. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Ceylon tea.
Totally worth a visit if you are in the area! I got a private tour thru the plantation with Dudley who explained everything about how they grow & harvest tea, how is it processed and then u got a cake & tea at the owner’s terrace. In the shop, there is extensive tea tasting that was amazing. The teas are a bit pricey to purchase.
Handunugoda Tea Estate is a wonderful place to visit and learn about Sri Lanka’s tea culture. The tour was informative and well organized, taking us through the tea fields and factory while explaining the unique process behind their famous “Virgin White Tea.” The estate itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the staff were very welcoming. A must-visit if you’re in the Galle area!
Plantation visit in down country in Sri Lanka. Very special here is white tea. Also you can have a vast knowledge of pepper and cinnamon as well. People can visit Plantation and the factory there. They provide personal guides for each group.

Has developed really well for this season. All the venues along the stretch keep the beach clean. There's a good amount of beach with about 50m of shallow water. Beach stretching for more than 1km (i think more into season). Great for a run which is what I did daily and there were a few others. Paid loungers available. Popular for surfing. I'm not a surfer but looks like a beginner to intermediate spot.
Kabalana Beach is one of the most beautiful and relaxed beaches in Sri Lanka! The water is clear, the sand is soft, and the palm trees make it picture-perfect. It’s a paradise for surfers, but also great if you just want to swim, sunbathe, or enjoy a drink at one of the beach cafés. Much less crowded than other beaches, which makes it feel special. Perfect spot to spend the day
Gorgeous beach, family friendly with shallow waters but also good for beginner surf lessons. Lots of shaded sun beds, plus anything you need for food and drinks.
This venue is beautifully located facing the stunning Koggala Beach, with the Galle-Colombo A2 road on the other side. The architecture is inspired by the grandeur of ancient Egypt, and the interior is truly fascinating. I visited for a wedding function and found the experience to be decent overall. The food was average, and the table service could use significant improvement. However, the swimming pool was a standout feature, with its 6-foot deep end being quite appealing. The parking area needs better maintenance, as it was muddy and made getting out of the vehicle difficult. Despite these shortcomings, I would recommend this venue for wedding functions due to its unique ambiance and prime location
Beautiful, wide beach with soft golden sand and rolling waves. It’s usually peaceful and not crowded during end of May before offseason, perfect for long walks or just relaxing under the palms.
If you like the sea 🌊, 🏄 surfing or just to relax you'll like this beach 🏖️ Enjoy
Cabalana died. In last year Cabalana was so pretty, people playing volleyball and stay on the beach for have fun. But in this year local people take old and broken sunbed for all coast. Now you can’t lay on the sand
Kabalana Beach in Ahangama is perfect for surfing! Whether you're new to the sport the consistent waves and beautiful scenery make it an ideal spot for lessons. Friendly locals and good instructors make it a must-visit for anyone looking for a fun day in the sun. Several hotels line the beachfront at Kabalana Beach in Ahangama, offering visitors a comfortable and convenient stay just steps away from the surf.
