you need to visit this little museum and of course we are stil waiting for the rest of the excavations there .However when you visit this museum you can understand the way the ancient Hellenes educated the young children .
We arrived with our family yesterday at closing time. But still got a very nice tour on the site and the museum. The museum is small but has many beautiful masterpieces. So it is certainly worth it. Again thank you very much Polini!! (Sorry if I get your name wrong again😅) Please don't forget mail us about Kastas. Greetings Tom, Mariska, Julia and Alex.
I am adore from this museum. There are so many interesting artifacts to see. It is nice to have a look for the past and how people were made golden jewelry, vases and sculptures. Everything is authentic not replica! A place must see!
The museum has 2 floors that you can cover in 15min. The finds are okish. The entrance fee is a bit high, 10 euro per adult vs what it offers. The ancient city on top of the hill is free entrance. I would recommend visiting old city for free and skip the museum. The staff is very nice.
A small but great museum to learn about the rich history of the ancient city of Amphipolis! The staff is very polite and helpful, and give you a good picture of the area's history, even though they aren't professional guides. A very nice visit, with a lot of interesting knowledge to be gained!
Small museum but packed full of interesting context and artefacts that perfectly explains the surrounding sites.
+ The exhibits are beautiful and unique! - However, the price is very high (10€) for such a small museum. There are no descriptions in many exhibits, and the building needs renovation. No guided tour available. If you are not that much into ancient artifacts, you can visit the open archeological areas around (free) and the Lion of Amfipoli (free).
Very interesting and well-maintained exhibitions, although the overall state (maintenance, space etc.) of the museum could have been better. The staff were very helpful to help us move around with a baby stroller, but explicitly rejected to offer descriptions in English for the English-speaking members of our company (good thing that the inscriptions were also in English though).
