We stayed in the tower room 5. Very romantic . You need to walk up 3 stairs so pack not too heavy. Room is not too spacious but very nice modern shower and regular water pressure. Excellent breakfast and very easy walk to town for dinner .
This is a beautiful castle that is 1000 years old. We went on a lantern night walk around the castle and had drinks in the bar. The walk was only in German, but was still enjoyable. Just be aware if you are English speaking only.
One of the best ever dinner and stay in Germany ever. Place is stunning, service is great dinner was amazing, breakfast was delicious, bets were comfortable and tools were clean
I wish the management would change. Because if the food and the rooms wouldn't be so overpriced and the rooms would be clean it would be a fairytale castle. Beautiful! Unfortunately, the staff is not interested in their guests, and don't seem happy at their job.
Very romantic schloss with comfortable beds, large rooms, and excellent meals. Staff is very friendly. Nice little museum on location that tells the history of the textile industry in the area — think handmade lace.
A very pleasant experience, great service and food. Service was very welcoming and warm - unlike anything you can expect in a larger city. For example since other rooms were available, reception made sure we got the exact room we wanted. The room was just fine 3/5, since it wasn't that clean - atleast 5 bugs inside. The room was also quite hot, but it was +35 outside so understandable. The view was great and the room had a good feeling. The room was very modern inside, and the contrast between looking to the courtyard (medieval) and looking in was great. The restaurant was great, very nice atmoshpere eating in the inner courtyard of a castle. The service was great. The food was good. Not too pricey. The location wasn't too lively, There were no stores, bars or restaurants open after 22. As an entire experience it was great 5/5, but objectively (location, room, food, service) only 4/5. There was a very nice feeling there, quite undescribable in a short review.
We were able to celebrate three events together with the team of Abenberg over the years. Number one was "only" catering as we were in the middle of the pandemic and had to celebrate in our backyard. Food and service were great though. Number two was a 30th birthday party down in the dungeon. The decoration was outstanding that night and again the service was great. This time we spend the night at the guesthouse, which totally suits all needs. Just dont expect 5 star interior. This is a guest house and for such very modern, clean and roomy. Number three was our big white wedding. Again the service was awsome - quick and smart, a thing a lot of our guests noticed as well. They highly appreciated it. This time we stayed at the tower and really enjoyed the experience and the view. The rooms are all renovated and even though the hallways might be small for bigger people...well you are staying in an ancient castle tower! Both times we also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. After three years and three events we can only recommend the castle in Abenberg and its team for whatever plans you have. The money is well spend. Extra wishes are taken care off. None of our guests at any event had anything to complain about.
The fortress itself is wonderful. The town is a quaint little place and you can reach super nature areas in no time. The fortress has a tower which houses a few rooms and if you want to stay in a fortress, that's where you need to be. Our stay this visit was a disappointment, as we were not informed of the tower being renovated and we got a room in the Guesthouse down the hill of the fortress. The hallway leading to the rooms was very narrow (don't bring a suitcase) and the room a tiny, tiny box with a low ceiling. All a bit shoebox like. For Euros 130 I felt it not right. Still, on a positive final verdict, breakfast was awesome.

What a beautiful place! The service was outstanding, the food was delicious & the glühwein was the best I've ever had! Ample parking, bi-lingual friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere. I can't say enough good things. We will return!
Nice place but service its too slow waiters arent rude or bad but also dont show so much care for the customer in my opinion. Nt a bad place to have a sunday burger but only if you are of a patient kind
This is realy a nice place. The beer garden is also well situated. Also a nice golf pratice area. The lunch was also good value for money.
Nice beergarden close to Spalt and Brombachsee. Friendly waiters and fast service. Also some activities for kids like miniature golf.
