We walked up here from the visitors centre. Easily doable but quite steep in places. The views are great but don't forget to visit the galleries. It's €3 but great to walk in the tight caves and then get a view at the end.
Beautiful view of the goldmine! You have to walk some distance from the parking area up to the view point where you will be greeted with this spactacular view! There is also one part where you can go inside one of the caves to a viewpoint but it is only open certain hours so check beforehand!
What I like and didn’t like: I liked the fact that it’s situated more than 1000m above sea level and the steamy mood and vide you get is pretty. There is now a car park controlled by a gentleman and it’s not for free. I am unsure how much my father in law paid that day but should be somewhere no more than €5, he also knows almost every bit of the Leon county, I like nature and discovering places. It’s a breakaway or getaway break if you want a peaceful area just to sink in. I am unsure if it’s because we went around mid May or it was because the weather wasn’t hotter than what you would think, with it being Spain. What I didn’t like is the security measures are not in place. I would like to go there with my kids and feel freely they would be okay if I don’t hold their hand. The cars have to squeeze up to make room for each other, so if you are someone not confident to drive it’s best to leave the wheel to someone who can. By doing this you avoid involving other’s life if something has to go wrong. Overall I would highly recommend to visit this area full of history and information
One of the best views in the medullas. There is also access to a tunnel into one of the medulla hills, definitely worth the 4 euros! Several information panels explain the techniques of the Roman gold harvest and there is a ca. 10km round track to explore the valley and also hill side of the medullas. The tracks are well visualised. Be aware that the hill track is partly pretty steep.
Fantastic place to visit. Does require a bit of walking. Would definitely recommend
Beautiful viewpoint with paid access to one of the caves. Information panels in English which is quite unique for Spanish tourist information.
Amazing. We got up early and arrived at the car park around 7:30am. The walk from the car park is about 1 km. There is a barrier so you cannot get any closer. The walk starts off very inclined and becomes more steady for a bit. Then the last bit is again very inclined. Pure guess but would say you are rising up 300m elevation overall. If you think of a treadmill in the gym it's all more than level 10 incline. Please don't let that put you off. Just take it slow if you find it hard. When you get to the large viewing platforms it's an awesome sight. We had the place to ourselves for an hour. We watched the sun rise begin to fall across the tops of the little peaks. It looks like something you might expect to see in Australia with the golden earth and vibrant green carpet of trees. Plus we got to watch the birds nesting near by in the cliffs waking up and filling the sky as a bonus. Looked like swallows.
Amazing view! We hiked up to the viewpoint from Las Médulas village, its quite a steep ascent but well worth it for the view. We also visited the caves nearby

Visit the ancient Roman tunnels to delve a little deeper into the world of Las Médulas, you won’t regret it!
You can't buy tickets in advance. It's 3€/person. Highly recommended to arrive early as the queue gets very long at around 12:00. Remember to get to the very end where you will get to see an awesome view from the side of the mountain.
Website said open from 11 tot 13.30. But be careful that you can only enter every 30 minutes! We arrived 10:50 and went to the Mirador first. But at 11.03 we could not enter the Galleria anymore, or wait half an hour. So might be good to put that on the website..
Unique experience if you have the opportunity to go in. We happened to stumble on this right before it opened and decided to wait a bit, very happy we did.
Scenic place with a lot to think off about human action in previous eras. Astonishing landscape.
It’s something special visiting a mine made two thousand years ago. The view is magnificent and it’s hard to imagine the struggles these workers could have had it in the summer heat
Nice old roman miners groute
(Translated by Google) It's located down some stairs from the Orellan viewpoint. There are also hiking trails in the area. The visit costs €3, and they provide a helmet and a disposable head covering. I recommend first seeing the viewpoint and its explanatory signs to better understand the work done there. You can explore two galleries on your own; one of them leads to a mountain exit from which you can see the viewpoint. If you're in El Bierzo, this is a highly recommended visit.
