Great mangrove park with well constructed boardwalk. Lots to see and pleasant to walk around. Good for kids and adults too. Some cheeky monkeys in the carpark so watch your bags!
Quite a well maintained park where one can observe and experience the natural environment of a mangrove forest. Not much mosquitoes but lots of aggressive monkeys at the entrance area. Be extra careful when carrying food items.
This is a perfect place to bring children to visit this beautiful natural attraction.
Good place to walk in the morning and evening. There is a well-built bridge across the mangrove park from start points to end points. Different types of mangroves are planted here with the signboard to show the trees name. You may also see estuary from the park. (The canopy walk was broken during my visit, the friendly security guard explained that a visitor accidently broke the canopy bridge.) The whole park is shady and comfortable. You may also see the animals such as squirrel, giant salamander, butterflies, dragonflies, mini crabs & etc in the park. Most important is beware of the monkeys near exit and car parks. Entrance fee is chargeable.
We were the mosquitos buffet for 30 minutes, but overall it was not a bad experience, we have been to mangrove park before but normally by boat. This is the 1st time we walk in... saw many mudskipper, little crabs and snail. As we went out, we saw many monkeys as well, very cheeky hiding behind the trees. The fees are cheap so no complain
The entrance fee for adults and seniors is RM3 per person. The mangrove forest has a rich ecology and we were lucky to see two jellyfish. However, the forest is also full of garbage. The authorities should clean up all the garbage and repair the broken fences.
National mangroove park.situated in Lumut town. Educational place.Parking free..but u need to pay rm3 ticket adult.kids below 12 of age is free.. There are public toilet provided.but parking limited up to 20-30 car.
Monkeys are aggressive and will try to try their luck to snatch food from you if you have! Dont bring anything to feed them or youll be surrounded by them in seconds!

My siblings enjoy our activities here. Their staff very friendly and helpfull...
The place permanently closed.. so please don't waste time on this.. I was here today with my children..it's should be behind Marina resort and permanently closed ... Only kayak and duck boat available at night..
It's quite difficult to find the place, apparently it's at the back of the hotel. They have kayak n large duck paddle boat (able to accommodate 5 people), it was a nice experience paddling on the lake☺️
Came from Lumut and walked from the Pier to be told they close at 12 and reopen in evening. Needs to be made clear on website
Comes with packages for the apartment in marina cove., The view is beautiful, adjacent to marina bay Beach, it's old and the games is limited, it's OK for the family with child to spend time, not as good as other theme park., You got what you pay.
Tbh it was the worst experience ever I didn’t enjoy myself at all . the place feels like a kid playground not for adults and the jumping balloons game was closed because it doesn’t work at all overall the place is okay for kids not adults and btw there’s only one shop and cafe and it’s empty .
Poor management, look like "End of the world's island". (No cleanliness, tidiness and proper arrangements).
Closed....i just drop by around afternoon n not sure whether they still operate the water park

Serene, mountainous island reached by ferry with beachfront resorts & ruins of a 1670 Dutch fort.

Family tourist are flock to this small island all year long.May be only this place over visited by local Malaysian then International tourist. Especially during school holiday is place is packed! Pankor is given duty free status from 2020 that's play massive role 40% increase of tourist to this island. She is famous for its beaches, resorts and hotels for tourist accommodations. Many temples, Tiger Rock, the Dutch Fort, the tombs in Kampung Teluk Gedung and Tortoise Hill and Batu Gong are notable must go place. Since no bridge ferry service are available in and out to this Island. Good three hours may take to go the main jetty in Lumut, then 40 minutes max to Pankor island.
On monday the beaches is very quiet and calming. Consider island hopping services to get the best experiences there.
Lovely little island town with nice people and seafood.
As the conclusion, I would say this island is suitable for family cheap holiday. If you’re not one of them, don’t come! The beach has nice sand and calm water, but the surroundings were dirty and messy (esp. Nipah Bay). The island is messy and not well managed or cleaned. Many bikes not follow road’s rules, with super noisy exhaust. They offered snorkelling and turned into seeing some fishes from most of surface area. No coral, far from your expectations if you got used with snorkelling in other places. They also have some other water sports but couldn’t bother to try anymore. The island doesn’t have much places that offered sun lounger just to sit and relax all days, as I don’t think this activity is popular for local people. Every restaurant was always packed and always queue for at least 1.5 hrs. Crazy! And they seem totally unprepared to serve 100s of people at a time. Food services is often over 2hours from being seated to service because every restaurant has like 3 wait staff and one chef. Not many other attractions in this island to spend your day with. The duty free is not included alcohol, only perfume (which price still expensive!) and some chocolate (which you can find it everywhere in MY) Nothing special from this island, local people friendly, spoke English well, but are just slow with everything. Its very typical “island living” where people are okay wasting their days in queues. If you’re happy for a cheap getaway with low expectations, come to Pangkor. Just don’t go if you have high expectations.
I should say Pangkor Island is an average scale tourist spot compared to other more popular and highly promoted island like Langkawi and Labuan. In terms of size and density, Pangkor is less developed and less populated but this island generates a large group of fishery population and economically provides employment opportunities. Tourist attraction plays a major role to supplement income for the locals though the promotion campaign is not as robust as other tourist spots. I find this island fascinating with the blending of the locals, the ethnic group seems culturally and morally blended as a community with great integration. The care free easy life style and the not so densely populated island has enable the standard and cost of living manageable. You can move around the island freely without developing a fear to your safety and security, its pretty safe here and the crime rate is reasonably low. You can afford to park you vehicles unlock and nobody will steal them. Flow of traffic is slow mostly occupied by motorcycles and its still puzzles me to see motorists riding without their helmets on unlike other parts of the country where helmet is a must or you'll be summoned. Sea food is aplenty from catches provided by the local fishing industry, a good number of reasonable priced seafood restaurants are found here both operated by Chinese and Malays. Minor segmentation divides the population occupancy on the Island, town centre and nearby fishing platforms are occupied by the Chinese whereas semi rural areas and villages are mostly occupied by the Malays. A few popular beaches found here though not those long white beaches but are fairly decent and enjoyable. Weekend crowds can be seen as the drawing attractions. The tax free port status has been granted to this island, surprisingly duty free outlets have not found its way here and not mushrooming to attract tourists. Overall a short stay would be lively given to the low density of tourist influx and for certain I don't want to be caught in a long queue on weekends or during holidays. Sure was fun and exciting.
The island is really lovely and well-kept, and you may enjoy it alone or with your family. You may hire a bike and tour the entire island. See the video for Natural beauty. Jelly fish may also be seen near to the shore. Snorkeling and other water activities are available here. I spent a terrific time viewing the dawn and sunset on a beautiful beach with quiet waves.
It's a great island holiday destination (but not the best, the best is Perhentian). We stayed in a nice hotel from which we also rented a motorbike. The bike was rubbish and had no brakes so we returned it and exchanged it for another, which then had a puncture! The water was warm and the sea was marvellous and, as you can see from the photos, there were some beautiful sunset scenes. However, the beaches were often a little spoiled by rubbish, which is often the way in Malaysia. Sadly people here have very little sense of social responsibility so beautiful landscapes are often trashed by plastic bottles and bags and general rubbish that people leave strewn everywhere rather than take it home and dispose of it responsibly. Wake up Malaysians!
This is a great place to visit. Things to do as follow; 1) Water sports 2) Island hopping 3) Kayaking 4) Snorking 5) Fishing 6) Hiking 7) Seafood and many more I drove to Lumut and parked my car at a multistorey carpark. Around RM 30 from morning to next day afternoon. Return ferry ticket to Pangkor Island cost adult RM 14 and children RM 5 (5-12yrs old) 30-45min. Just show ticket when return. Upon arrival, car rental guys will approach to ask if you need car rental or not. RM 100 for whole day car rent. (car will not be in very good condition) Taxi fare from jetty to Nipah cost us around RM 16 per trip. (3 pax) Watersport package for island hopping, Snorking and 3 water sports cost RM75 per pax. Safe and fun, must try. Total take us about 3 hours to complete.

I took my PADI Open water course with quiver dive team. It seems like they took the previous reviews serious and improved a lot since then... From organisation of the course, over the guidance at the water to the food on the boat between the dives - everything was done very well. Kudos to my instructor Halid, Mark and the team. Keep up the new high standard of work!
Overall - very good. A really kind, helpful team but with a bit of a 'guys' vibe. A nice dive but not recommended for beginners due to currents and low visibility. Reasonable accommodation for just an overnight stay. Planning the whole day could be improved to make better use of time. Before the full review - an important note about the other reviews. I was told by the team that in the last year, the centre has undergone new management. The older reviews may not be relevant. Comments below about professionalism are different from what I experienced.. Hopefully customers will add more recent comments... Firstly, professionalism. Generally good, but some of the sizing at the shop was rushed. They didn't have big enough large wetsuits for me or my girlfriend. All equipment looked in good condition. They let us assemble our gear and then checked it for us. There was a brief brief with a recap of signals. However, you should add a laminated map as well as some pictures of the species we should look for. It would be easy to do. Underwater safety was difficult as vis was c3m. We lost a guy and had to surface on the first dive. I had to ask for a torch, but given low vis a torch should be provided to everyone. Secondly, the dives. We did 2 days. 3 dives per day at a total of 3 different sites. I think it cost me 1400RM or about $340. Mostly good weather. It's a long boat journey there (c40mins) in open water, so it can get choppy. Honestly, this is not the place to go if you are new to diving. The visibility is often low (3-7m) and some of the sites have moderate currents. This can make it very challenging for a beginner. However, for someone with a dozen dives in their log book it's a really fun level of challenge. You have to put a lot more effort into your dive (as opposed to the clear blue of Thailand or Bali) and so you get more out. I feel much more confident in the water knowing that I dealt with some of that challenge (like losing your team in 3m visibility!). Strongly recommended for beginner divers getting ready to do advanced. Highlights include nudibrach, octopus and a beautiful anemone garden! Thirdly, the boat. Standard SE Asian speedboat. One deck, sun shade, some snacks provided (fried banana balls that day, mix of soft drinks - all free), ladder for entry. No toilet. Fourth, overall care. Mixed blessings here. On the one hand, they took really good care of us. Met us very late at the accommodation, took us to breakfast, brought snacks on the boat, took us to a local market for dinner, recommended food and paid for it all. They also drove us to the ferry when we went home. Really good all-inclusive service. However, two problems to work on: (1) It has a 'lads' feel - it needs a womans touch. Too much fried food and grease. Get some fruit for the snacks, find somewhere a bit classier for dinner, give it a little more class... (2) You need to plan the whole day more logically. The time at the shop sizing equipment was rushed. We went hotel-breakfast-hotel and wasted time. There was also lots of waiting at the marina - call the tractor man in advance to get the boat in position. We could have organized dinner a bit better so we didn't have so much food! Sit down and plan it out to make the day more efficient. Fifth, the 'hostel'. Considering it was included in the price, it was good. Double bed, air con, clean sheets, wardrobe, shared bathroom, wifi. Nothing amazing but fine for a dive shop. Need some photos online. That's enough...
Unprofessional, rude and dangerous - Avoid We booked a dive package with accommodation and dives included with Quiver Divers. We completed the paperwork but at no point were our dive cards checked by any one. We turned up in the morning to get our equipment sorted and to meet our dive master, Sebastian. Immediately, it was obvious that he had been out drinking the night before because he stank of alcohol. He even admitted to us when we commented, “heavy night?!” that he had been out and drinking a lot the previous night. The weather wasn’t great so every 5 minutes our dive site was changing depending on who we spoke to, we don’t know who the manager was but someone needed to be making a final call. Eventually, it was decided and off we went. After the dive, we were completing our log books and having a chat. Ironically, we were asked on how the company could improve so we suggested that like in many other places where there are lots of dive companies competing, they have a whiteboard where they display where they dived that day, what they saw and where they were planning on going the following day. Immediately, we were shut down with responses to everything we suggested, making us think, why did you even bother asking if you don’t want to hear what we have to say?! We continued to complete our log books when Sebastian saw some French girls passing the area where we were sat and decided that mid-chat he would leave us to go and talk to them, this wasn’t just for a minute or so but for ages. We were so cross at his rudeness that we got up and left. Unfortunately, we had to return the following day to complete our second dive we had paid for because the first afternoon dives were cancelled due to the weather. When we went out on our second dive Sebastian didn’t even remember taking us out the previous day! This time we went out in the boat as a group of 4 with Sebastian without the emergency box, oxygen or spare air tanks. We didn’t realise this until we got back, it should be the company’s responsibility to ensure this is always taken! Also on all the dives a boat briefing was never given or any logs held of divers in the water. We spoke to another couple, who had similar views and experiences with Quiver to us and we decided that we would ignore the rudeness of the staff and the issues we had had to go out on the two afternoon dives with them. We found ourselves in a group of 11 divers with 2 dive masters/instructors. Having initially forgotten the emergency box and oxygen (thanks Ali, the other diver master/instructor for realising!) us divers were randomly split with no thought going into separating us into two groups. For example, one for people with Open Water and a separate group for more Advanced divers. We were all mixed up together so after 40 minutes, both groups had to surface with some people still having 100 bar and some were on 50 bar. A few people went back down again for an extra 15 minutes but this wouldn’t have happened if the dive had been properly planned. When we were returning to the dive shop from our final dive, the petrol ran out and so we stopped to tilt the engine tank! This was when we asked about how we would get help if tilting the tank wouldn’t work and they said they had no phones or radios! Most, but not all of the staff at Quiver Divers are incredibly rude. We were having a chat with another member of staff, discussing the plan for the day and he was interrupted by a colleague and then they went on to have their own conversation. We understand that with many diving companies the staff change each season so it’s possible that if you chose to dive with Quiver Divers that you are lucky and get a good diver master but we were not impressed seeing as this was the start of the diving season in the Perhentians and there was an obvious lack of someone in charge to clarify the staff roles, their responsibilities, ensure standards are followed and diving is done safely.
Quiver Dive Team is one of the best dive center I have ever visited. There are 3 dive centers around Malaysia - Lumut, Perhentian Island and Tenggol Island. The one I've visited is the one in Perhentian Kecil. I've spent a week there taking my AOW with them. I did a few fun dives too. Dive Center - the center in Perhentian Kecil is very spacious. There are 2 big trees within the compound and the wood deck under the trees provides a good place to chill and relax, of cause also a place to clean your equipment, chit chatting etc. The facility is one of the biggest around the island. Equipments - they have absolutely sufficient equipments and all of them (as many as I can see) are well maintained. If I remember correctly they own 2 speed boats too. Dive Master, Instructors, Staffs - Quivers have great human resources. During my visit, there are roughly 12 Dive Masters working and 5 instructors (not sure about their instructor level though) with them. 1 admin to handle all the admin works. The admin helps to order my lunch too. As of the language spoken - The DM and Instructors come from all around the world, they speak English, Chinese, German but it depends on the availability of the person though. The permanent instructor does speak English and Chinese. Basically I just love the Quiver Dive Team. I like the way they operate their center. Hope my review helps though. Thanks.
I went with quiver pulau perhentian last year. The first and probably the last time i will. We went to the site and noted the current is quiet bad. They ask us to go down and me and my buddy went in. The moment we down ther the visibility is really bad. My dive master went up to see one of the diver who had a problem midway and surface up. We are left down there and cant even see the other divers. Looking around for 2 minutes we surface up. And guess what.. the boat is not there! And the wave on the surface is really bad we were technically going up and down for nearly 20min and then only our dive master surface up.. and at 40 min the boat come back... Despite that incident we still need to pay for the "dive" and being left by the boat at site.. I hope mine is an isolated case.. but leaving divers in the middle of the sea is really not a good idea. We are lucky no one in emergency.. what if there is any? My worst diving experience... And it however being a good experience to deal with these kind of situation.
Loved the dives... low visibility is down to so much vegetation. Once you go past 10 metres, you see the place. Beautiful purple barrell sponge and fish. Thank you kindly Tom and Mark.
If you ever wanted to dive and see macro creatures go with them. Got frogfish and seahorse so amazing no need to go to sarawak or sabah
Friendly and dedicated guides for the great diving experience and delicious duck rice for lunch!
