Fantastic experience. Cycling over an old Kanonbahn for a distance of about 14 kilometers. The way to Kűllstedt goes uphill, with a constant slope of 1%. You're climbing 140 m. This is quite heavy, it is good to have two people with a fair physical condition. Cycling uphill will take about 1h40m. Though there are possibilities to stop at multiple locations when underway. The way back goes for free. Gravity will give you a speed of about 16 kmph, taking it 50 minutes to return. My kids really liked it. Be aware, the restaurant at the end of the track (Kűllstedt) is not opened on Monday and Tuesday. Check before at which time you can leave, you're riding in a column so you cannot start at any moment! We started at 13:30. The return trip starts at 16:30, so you're back in Lengenfeld unterm Stein at about 17:30.
A very relaxed way of spending some time - joined with some exercise! We did an hour trip (about 3.5km). Beautiful forests, railway tracks - what do you want more? 😜 Afterwards you can also sit down at the station and have a decent lunch.
Great experience. Make sure that you have Google lens, Google translate or you understand German.
Good fun with a few friends! Depending which tracks are opened (as they've just started opening up again now), you may find a nice walk or picnic area at the turn around area.
Excellent ride along an old train line with pedal wagons crossing heaps of tunnels 👍 All the work going uphill - make sure you have a couple of somewhat fit people in your group... Downhill is a blast.
This was the second time coming to Erlebnis Draisine! I love it. The tunnels are very fun. Going up the mountain is very tiring, but also very fun. Coming down you have to use the brakes because it goes so fast. Ich mag die Erlebnis Draisine!!!
We stopped at this place when we did kanonenbahnradweg bike trip. We did not try yet to ride the Draisine, but we enjoyed this place for a pause, our son also enjoyed the spielplatz
We had a wonderful day at Draisine! It was great day out for the family!

(Translated by Google) Very nice church. I was particularly fascinated by the windows. They really shine when the sun shines in. There is also an information booklet and cards where you can donate. And a pilgrim stamp. The people are also very friendly.

(Translated by Google) The "St. Marien" Church is located in the center of the Heiligenstadt spa and is often referred to as the Old Town Church by the people of Heiligenstadt. It is a very beautiful and worth seeing Gothic church, characterized by its double tower facade, which looks very impressive and appears confusing in the city skyline. The organ of "St. Marien" was moved to its current location and redesigned in neo-baroque style. The new bell was expanded to include a bell and now consists of four bells. Conclusion: a visit that is always worthwhile (Original) Die "St.

(Translated by Google) Text from Wiki The Heiligenstadt developed on the eastern slope of the Stiftshill of St. Martin with the original settlement further eastwards. From the 11th to 12th centuries, a market settlement with the so-called department store (the first town hall of the later city), the brewery and a bower for the bailiff was built north of the Geislede. For this new settlement, the St. Mary's Church was founded by the monastery on a small rocky hill and remained part of it until the end. A previous Romanesque building was probably built in the 12th century. From 1300 onwards it was replaced in several stages by the sophisticated new Gothic building. Further east there was further settlement with the “lowest peasantry” and “on the Heimenstein” on Klausberg with its own chapel of St. Nicholas. This entire settlement north of the Geislede became the so-called old town, before the new town was created south of the Geislede after 1200 and Heiligenstadt was elevated to a city. The oldest part is the massive west wing with the two octagonal towers, which are made of red sandstone up to the tops. The richly tiered portal with wimperg now contains neo-Gothic tracery in the pointed arch. The nave, a three-aisled hall with a ribbed vault, was completed in the 14th century. The effect of the spaciousness is enhanced by an expansion towards the choir. Figurative capitals, keystones and consoles give the room a sense of festivity. The three-bay choir with a polygonal end was consecrated in 1420, changed in 1715 and raised above the nave in 1886 and crowned with a slender roof turret.
