Whaaaat! A great place. Be sure to call for a reservation. We got lucky. Some great wine. We should have bought more than the 8 that we did. Amaia took time to explain this unique winery. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful place, family owned and run, and unique delicious wines. We did a wine tasting here and it was a small groups of 6 (4 were us). The site is beautiful, they are passionate, and the wines were exceptional. If I lived here no question I would drink their wines, visit their vineyard and go to the associated restaurant. And only 15 minutes outside of Bilbao. The couple who joined us took an Uber who also quickly picked them up. Can’t recommend highly enough.
This was an excellent visit & wine tasting was inspiring delivered by a fabulous host.
Thank you Gorka Izagirre! Since my visit to Bilbao in 2017 and first tasting of your lovely Txakoli I have never been able to find a wine in this price range to please me more than you do! We had planned a dinner at Azarmendi in 2020 but unfortunately due to Covid 19 never been able to make it. It's still on our bucket list. Really appreciate your lovely wines and hope to see more quality wines coming from your very best wine yard..
Lovely winery that is setting a new standard for Txakoli wines. If you visit the winery the oenologist himself takes you through the various steps in their process. It was very interesting to see how they make a unique batch from each of their small vineyards, which gives them endless opportunities to experiment. Afterwards we were able to taste (including some gilda and charcuterie) and I can say they were all great wines, even the first vintage of the red wine they recently started. Bought a couple of wines afterwards and received them in a nice wooden box.

The 4 wines tested were very good and the solid accompaniment was excellent.
