The wine they produce is delicious! We really enjoyed the wine tasting and learning about the different types. However the estate itself is rather shabby. It looks a bit sad. The bathrooms in particular could use a little bit of renovation. The surrounding countryside is lovely though.

Choosing the number of stars for this was a little difficult because I have never been to a French winery before so I didn’t know what to expect. I have been to several in California so compared to those this is certainly not up to that level -food offered, atmosphere to name a couple- but this place has its own charm. We were part of a tour group that was visiting the winery to taste the wine and buy some Beaujolais area wine. The wine was good and the family that ran it were real French countryside folks who have children and friendly dogs running about the place. So if you want to experience an authentic family run Beaujolais winery, I would say it was pretty good. If you want a well furnished tasting room with professional wine connoisseurs, then look elsewhere. Regardless the wine was excellent and we bought 6 bottles to have them shipped home.

Wonderful experience here learning about local wine near Lyon France!

Jean-Benoît and Tiphaine de Chabannes, managers of the wine estate, provide tours of 18th century chateau winery. Tiphane conducted our tour. Wine tasting of four different Beaujolais wines. Great deal of fun. Fete scheduled for July. Still time this week to see the light and sound show fete at the chateau.

It was wonderful to see how the family live and work to create their wines. Also the stunning location makes it worth the trip. I would have loved to see inside the house though!
