The Dorkovo Paleontological Museum is a hidden gem in Bulgaria, offering a fascinating glimpse into the prehistoric world. Small exposition of some artefacts from over 3million years ago. Nice reconstruction of a prehistorical Mastodont. Some bones of animals and interesting facts about the history of the region.

Little but beautiful museum. Thursdays entrance is free and you have free parking in the entrance. The museum guide gave a talk about the mastodon and the area in bulgarian and doesn't speak English, but you have info in English in the numerous information panels. The museum is just one circular room with a real size mastodon reproduction (impressive), some real mastodon rests, like a tusk. Also has information about the valley itself and other animals that were living there. Is not worth a long trip there as is very small but totally worth the visit if you're around. The building design is stunning and fits really well the environment, is a nice contrast for such a rural area.

You can hear the voices of the the anymals from paleontologic period, which fossils was found there.

This is at the side of a village. It's a one room exhibition with an interesting shape of building showing info and remnants of a palaeontological discovery. Pretty basic though.

Small but well done Museum. The valley it sits in his amazing and worth the trip, even though the museum itself doesn't take much of a time commitment.
