What an awesome campsite. We spent 3 nights here and did some really nice hiking. It's always good to arrive early so you can pick the best place to set up your tent. The only downside is quite old toilets and shower buildings.
If you're looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, with incredible sunrise and sunset views and a sky full of stars at night, Doi Samer Dao is a must-visit! It’s located inside Si Nan National Park in Nan Province, and it’s easy to reach by car. A short walk from the parking area takes you to the scenic viewpoint on top of the ridge. This spot is perfect for camping. If you don’t have your own tent, you can rent one from the park (around 300–400 THB). There are bathrooms and charging stations available, but no food stalls—so bring your own or order in advance. The air is cool and comfortable at night, with no city lights to block the stars. A dream for stargazers! The best part? Early in the morning, you’ll witness a sea of mist floating over the hills with golden sunlight peeking through. Totally worth waking up early!
It is amazing experience here. Camping, stargazing and sunrise. Unfortunately, when we come (mid-nov) the moon was showing-off and cloudy at midnight. When sunrise the fog came. But overall was good. If you rent tent here, please check first for any insect.
My first camping in Thailand. The place was clean and spacious. Public toilets were clean and they have charging stations, that’s a surplus! Rent a tent for 2 pax at 390 THB if I’m not wrong, it’s cheap!!! Before enter the park, you gonna have to buy ticket and pay for car park. It’s cheap tho, please don’t mind the price. It’s freezing cold at night and it rain on the night I stayed. Luckily the tent was water proof so I can sleep tight. Haha
Arrived on 14/12/23 , A place to watch the sunrise and sunset in the same place. The atmosphere is very good. There is a breeze blowing. The park staff provide good service. The bathrooms are clean. Recommended.
Another camping experience here, this place have special rules for car parks, you can unload your camping stuff near camping site, then you have to park your car at the parking area down hill. You can either rent a camp or bring your own, in the normal days, you will have to spend a bit of camping fee. There are restaurants delivery offered at the site, no need to worry about food. The view of stars at night and sunrise in the morning was stunning!
I can’t stop saying “Awesome” to this place, every spot my eyes see is so beautiful. The color of the grasses make me think of teletubbies 😂. It is truly relaxing and the view is stunning 🤩 After the rain, the clouds are just perfectly floating above this landscape. During rainy season this place is quite empty so I can enjoy the nature peacefully ☺️ This place is called “ Doi samer dao” because during winter at night you can see countless stars really close to you, as if this mountain as high as the same level as those stars ⭐️
We rented the tent for 2pax for 390thb. Didn't book anything. Came at 3pm they still have tent available. You can bring food to cook, there are so many items to rent for cooking. Come before sunset for the pretty view and wake up early at 5am to watch sunrise. So worth it! The toilet are clean too.

Si Nan National Park in Nan Province is a hidden gem in northern Thailand. With peaceful mountains, sea of mist views, and star-filled night skies, it’s a perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature. The most popular spot in the park is Doi Samer Dao, where visitors can camp right on a ridge with panoramic views. Whether you’re watching the sunrise through the morning mist or stargazing at night, the scenery is always stunning. The camping area is well-maintained, with clean toilets and tents for rent. It’s quiet, peaceful, and has very little light pollution—amazing for astrophotography or just lying under the stars. Another highlight is Pha Chu, a cliff that offers a dramatic viewpoint over the Nan River and the surrounding valley. Hiking trails in the park are suitable for beginners and nature lovers alike.
There is a rest area along the highway with facilities, a large lawn some use for camping and a viewing platform overlooking the Nan River Valley. Up the road you can turn into the park where there are some rooms available and a large camping area where you can set up your own tent or rent one. It is a very nice spot with great views. There are restaurants in the park as well.
Lovely, quiet and remote location and area for camping. Good options for camping, with some wildlife and birds to see. Use the tents or domes or take your own tent. Fabulous mornings especially, with low cloud cover and can be very cool, with great views over the valley. If you are thinking of going, just go - prepared to stay, as we visited and then decided to stay, so were charged twice for entry to the park.
Doi Samer Dao ดอยเสมอดาว is part of Si Nan National Park in Nan province. Have to call for booking durning COVID-19. This is another best place for camping and good for new camper as well because there is tent for rent and toilet and mini mart are very close to camping area. Camping area, camping area is very close to top of mountain. Tent are down the hill with sun set view. And in the morning you can easy walk to the top of mountain to see the sunrise. Sky at night is like you walk amount star (if sky is clear) Foods and cooking have to do all cooking in front of the office. Not allow to cook at camping area. They also have Thai style BBQ service หมูกระทะ at night and breakfast service โจ๊กไข่ลวก in the morning too Loading area is very limited so you can only park for loading and have to drive down the hill to parking area.
Amazing location for camping. The views are spectacular and limited light pollution gives a great view of the night sky
A peaceful national park, good alternative to Doi Samur Dao, but not as good scenery.
Stunning view, a good break after long drive.
Nice park with lots of camping facilities.

Geologic Formations
Ancient rock formations in peculiar shapes, in an area known for its excavated Paleolithic relics.
Slide 1 of 8
Sao Din Na Noi is a must visit when in Nan Province. It is a very interesting geological phenomena created over thousands of years. It is very close to the city of Na Noi with good signage. There is an older trail to follow but it has disappeared in some places but exploring the place is a lot of fun. Go and enjoy your hike!
Sao Din Na Noi is a small area with cliffs and green trees and it's over 10,000 years old. The structures are formed by wind and rain. Nice to walk around and perfect location for taking photos. When we were there in November, we were the only visitors
For travelers like me who do a tour of the superb Nan province. Forget about this place, you will not see more than what’s on the photos. They ask for 100 baths and more 20 baths for parking. And they don’t even provide a leaflet or a map of the site. It’s really not worth the detour.
It's believed that Sao Din Na Noi was created as a result of the shifting of earth's crust during the late Tertiary Period. Geologists estimate these formations, once part of the oceans floor, to be roughly 20,000 years old. Discoveries of stone bangles and ancient axes have been made here...indicating that this area was, also, once inhabited by human beings during the Palaeolithic Age.
Nice place to visit in eary morning hour or the lare evening hour while the weather is not that hot. Great place to capture some mini grand canyon type landscapes. The entrance for a foreign is 100 baht. The same ticket that was purchased at Doi Samer Dao can be used here as well. There were washrooms here.
I paid 150 baht; 20 baht for adult. 100 baht for foreigner, and 30 baht for car parking. The tickets include the entrance fee for Doi Samur Dao camping ground.
Lots of grand canyon type, some compare it to China's Kunming. Okay to visit if you are already in Nan. An hour and a half drive from Nan city.
In my point of view, it's natural sand mountain, just small one! Anyone who likes the plain style background can stop by for a visit. In addition, the restroom here contains shower room too. For those who didn't had a shower up at Doi Samer Dao may consider to do so at this place.

Verdant parkland with mountains, streams & waterfalls offering scenic trails & campsites.

It is very nice campground. You can see the sunrise easily. The place is clean and the shower room is good also with the hot water. There is one lovely coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy the view.
A scenic gem nestled in Nan Province at an elevation of about 1,424 m, Khun Sathan National Park offers breathtaking mountain views, serene morning mist, and clean, well-maintained camping and visitor facilities. Highlights & Attractions. Panoramic Viewpoints: Doi Khun Sathan (approx. 1,630 m) and Doi Mae Chok (approx. 1,424 m) provide spectacular sunrise and mountain vistas—the morning mist adds to the ethereal experience. Cherry Blossoms in Winter: Wild Himalayan cherry trees bloom beautifully in December, adding vibrant pink hues to the landscape. Diverse Flora & Fauna: The park spans mixed deciduous, pine, hill evergreen, and dipterocarp forests. Wildlife includes deer, monkeys, civets, birds, and occasionally wild boar or tigers. Facilities & Camping. Campsites & Bungalows: Multiple camping zones and basic bungalows available for rent. The campground features hot showers and a coffee shop—ideal for a relaxing overnight stay under starlit skies. Amenities: Includes parking, restrooms, clear hiking trails, a small restaurant, and a scenic coffee spot overlooking the valley.
If you're here for the view and nature, this is one of my most recommended place to sleep overnight. I stayed in a hut overnight with nice bed and thick blankets for two. Waking up to sunrise and a sea of misty fog layed acrossed the land. They also have a cafe that you can have toast and coffee to warm you up.
Great place for camping, very well covered facility, but be careful of leeches when stepping on wet surface. Overall really good place for relaxing and enjoy the scenery. Cell service is working.
Try not to go with motorbike 🏍️ the road was extremely slippery during rain, especially on the edge of the road. Me and my partner were had an accident but it wasn’t a bad one. Guys! I couldn’t see anything when I reached the viewpoints. It was drizzling all the time and a bit cold. I suggest you to not go up the pine tree viewpoint, crazy leech will suck your blood like hell. They are extremely difficult to get rid off from your feet. Anyway I am pretty sure this place will look a lot better during winter, the pink flowers still waiting to be seen next time. The staffs are really nice and helpful.
Peaceful National Park with nice camping areas and good bathrooms. Sadly, the forest has been denuded in many places and the lights from a couple of large towns are visible in the night. The tiny restaurant only cooks rice with omelette which is tasty. We had a pleasant night watching the stars move in the heavens.
National Park at 1400 mt. Elevation with campground and facilities. Nice coffee shops as well. A 400 mt. hike will take you on the mountain top and you will be rewarded with a great view.
A very busy camping site. Doesn’t have electricity at the campground. It’s not allowed to cook near the tents too. There is a separate place for that. Pillows provided by the camp are not that comfortable. You can see the sunrise in the morning.
