My review is about the museum grounds, not the museum itself, as I did not enter. My parents are senior citizens, so they entered for free. The surrounding area is very well-kept, we are particularly impressed by the elephants made from tree branches. There were also other relics, not sure if those were from the Second World War. It would be nice to have some kind of explanation. Overall we enjoyed our time there. Excellent pit-stop on our journey to Kuantan.
A short visit for the first time to Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar located in Pekan, Pahang. The entrance fee rate is not that expensive, only RM12 for adults, school uniformed students RM5, foreigner RM50 while for children below 12 and old people are for free only. This museum from outside and inside looks very beautiful, with aircond is provided at the inside building. There are many interesting displays from the very old time to the latest one which related to the history of Pahang. This museum can be a great option to visit while you come to Pekan, Pahang. The staffs are friendly and there is a cafe also at the inside of the museum. The only problem here are there are no signboard for the toilets and limited parking for cars not only to visit this museum, but other attractions near by also. Seems like people just park on the pavement at the side of the roads. Other than these issues, the rest seems good here.
Ticket price for adults is RM12, reasonable. The museum is quite large. We spent more than 2 hours exploring. It offers a lot of knowledge about Pahang’s history, culture, and royal heritage. Exhibits are well presented and informative. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Pekan.
This Muzium sultan Abu Bakar offers informative and air-conditioned experience, displaying royal artifacts and historical exhibits. The admission fee is affordable (RM12 for adults). For dining after your tour, be sure to visit Kafe Belibis next door for a unique experience eating inside a train carriage, or stop by Gerabak Kopi for excellent highly-rated specialty coffee.
From outside it is already looks majestic. This former palace is now a royal museum, with more galleries to be opened. The main building is dedicated to the royal collections while the gallery at the back houses Pahang's archaelogical treasures. Sculptors adorned every corner of the museum. It has a small cafe inside, possibly the first public museum in the country after Borneo Culture Museum to do so. My only concern would be the admission fee, which by comparison is a bit high.
This museum have plenty of royal collection.clean and full of information.RM 12 for entrance fee and clear plastic provided as we not allowed to wear shoes inside the exibition/gallery area.got cafe inside.there is separated and connected building for different gallery theme.
photographer passing by the museum. more photos on ig:fzeo and find me if you wanna shoot. back to the review, 1 Parking. it is depends, during peak hour, it is hard to cross the road. i found that the parking is very limited. Many ppl park illegaly beside the road. 2 Building nice white building. Nice to take photo. Kinda bristish -ish like. Seem so clean. the wall also nice place to take photo. 3 Field Open field. got some decoration which i dont really like. but the tanks, apc, horse, helicopter, etc is okay to have there. but wait, also got the cannon. 4. food there are a mini caravan selling drink, ice cream and desert. their packaging is nice. 5 Photographer view I think, it is a very nice place to come and shoot. i did ask this random girl who i shoot. she said here is a location where ppl always come for a group photo during the raya. welp. i will come again somewhere infuture bringing some other lenses to shoot. 6. museum i did not go in but they got some entrance fee. those with mykad and not, those who young age, wearing school uniform and etc.
It give you insight about pahang, pahang royalty and pahang history. Some renovation still ongoing by october 2025.

Royal mosque converted to a museum. The theme is mainly on spreading of Islam to Pahang. The entrance is free. Not crowded at all, even on Sunday. Looks like Taj Mahal with white architecture. This museum was officially opened in October 2016. Originally, this museum was a mosque that was built around 1930, which was later renovated into a museum. It is equipped with an exhibition space and a special space for prayer. This museum clearly displays the characteristics of Islamic art through architectural design and interior decoration that is appropriate to its status as the Sultan Abdullah Mosque Museum. The special thing here is that visitors have the opportunity to feel the experience of praying in this museum.
This museum was officially opened in October 2016. Originally, this museum was a mosque that was built around 1930, located along the Pekan Pahang riverfront and is dedicated to Islamic culture, religion and history, contains historic artifacts – musical instruments, calligraphy, scientific instruments,It also has detailed explanations of various aspects of Islam in both Malay and English. No entrance Fee!!
This royal palace is now a museum dedicated to the Islamic culture & heritage, from the personal collection of the royal family & artefacts from the state museum. It is part of the future museum complex in Pekan. Free admission, opens to everyone but closes on Mondays.
Muzium history in english and jawi scriptures. Good place to know about history. Have a small place for praying.
A former mosque that has been turned into museum detailing all islamic arts, tales and history. A beautiful panorama can be seen from the outside displayed the architecture that has a major influence from moorish. If you're in pekan or passing by pekan, do stop by here. What an amazing museum!
Had the chance to visit this place. Calming town it is. Great place to take picture and diving into the history. And after that you can take a short walk to Kafe Kereta Api. Happy trying peeps!
Undoubtedly beautifully structure (mosque). Combination build primarily from Islamic architecture, the top part (under the dome) from Gothic architecture, front veiw from Mughal architecture and angle veiw of Islamic Turkey architecture. As for the Museum, it was well maintain pretty nice overall. However the weakness in on it's info where quite alot of it seemingly lack of explanation especially when there in no date for one's artifacts (or replication, regardless).
I was hooked and felt in love everytime i went there, without any regrets. I felt like I am sitting infront of the mini Taj Mahal, with beautiful white colonial bulding architectures. There is a small blue water fountain pond, that surely makes a contrast view with white background. One of the most interesting place to shoot for Hari Raya background pictures. Amazingly beaufiful.
